Food was enjoyable but also a bit unexceptional. Bruschetta had a nice tang from the picked veg and capers. Pasta was decent. Menu seemed to be in flux as several of the items we ordered ended up being unavailable. Staff were friendly.

As long as you go into this knowing its a fancy place, you'll have a blast! The food is amazing, comes in small portions and is presented artistically. The price is a bit high, but expect the quality and freshness of the food to make it absolutely worth it.

This is officially my favorite restaurant in Austin, TX for the time being. The food is excellent, the waitstaff is knowledgable, and the atmosphere is perfect. Even though we didn't have a reservation for my wife's birthday, we were sat within 20 mins of arriving and half a glass of wine in. I would recommend to anyone who loves Italian! By the way my wife is lactose intolerant and they were extremely accommodating and kind.

The food was great but it took awhile to be served, as expected when fine dining. Our party was huge but our waiter, Reid, was exceptional. They have a good wine selection to choose from, and they even provide gluten free options. Watch out though, because some of the entrees have flour dusted on them, so if you are gluten free or wheat free be sure to tell your waiter. They can be very accommodating!

Generally on of my favorite restaurants. Ordered through Favor and was charged the dinner price for a dish (which I wanted) but was delivered a lunch size portion. In addition, the Cesar dressing which is normally my favorite had no dressing - just lettuce and croutons - bland AF.

Needs more consistency with in restaurant quality and delivery quality of food.

Loved it! Visiting Austin with my boyfriend and we loved the atmosphere, not to mention the food! Reasonably priced and delicious! Terrible hostess but waitress made up for it. Would without a doubt recommend it!

I like the fact that there are plenty of sharable items. I enjoyed the mussels, which I don't always love, and the Prosciutto, Fontina & Arugula pizza with sunnyside-up egg. I would definitely ask if white truffle oil is added since it is better to skip it.

Really loved the atmosphere of this place, too: dark and quiet. Very appropriate for a date or a chill meal. Nothing totally blew me away here, but it's definitely a solid go-to place on s. congress.

My date I stopped in and were immediately cared for. I ordered the stuffed florentine shells with lemon juice and absolutely cherished each bite! Everything tasted fresh and made with love. The lemon panna cotta for dessert truly ended my experience on a hight note.

Definitely good quality Italian food. Parking can be a challenge during busy times, but I'd say it's worth it. Lots of nice shops near by to shop before and after. Atmosphere is nice and the deserts were pretty good!

Went to Vespaio for my wife's 40th anniversary dinner. We were seated 30 minutes after our reservation time. Despite calling ahead and letting them know that it was a special dinner, waiter never acknowledged the birthday or even asked what brought us in tonight. Our party was crammed into a table that was too small for 7 people, and our waiter was MIA for most of the dinner. It took an hour for our entrees to be ready from the time we ordered. My wife and I have visited Vespaio before, but the restaurant has changed. Not impressed this time.

Have eaten at Vespaio several times now while visiting Austin and it is consistently inspiring with amazing flavors, outstanding service and attention to details yet relaxed and can accommodate gluten-free with best restaurant pasta option tried to date.

We have celebrated many family events here, including my husband purposing to me and the food was excellent. Tonight unfortunately it was not! We were celebrating yet another family event here with family all the way from Connecticut.
First it took awhile just to get some bread, next the appetizer came out the same time as our food which is an absolute disappointment!
Two of our Entrees came out wrong, mine was so salty I could not even eat it.
To say the least it was not good at all. Then came my coffee which tasted really bitter, I never did get my cream so I just gave up even trying to drink it.
Absolutely so dissatisfied in our experience. There were 6 of us and there was also a collar Salmon dish served that was not good either I was told. I m not sure what the exact name of the dish was but I believe that s close enough.
I m not sure if there are new owners From just 3 short months ago when we were there last but whatever it is they need to fix it!

If you don't want to wait 2 hours for Vespaio's fine dining, then hop in this sister location next door.

You are only sacrificing the time you have to wait, no taste is sacrificed.

I ordered a to-go pickup order on Saturday afternoon, which was actually my birthday! I waited for my order outside in my car, got the order, and went to leave when I got a phonecall from the hostess that the order I received was incorrect! I turned around and came back to Enoteca to pick up the items missing, and I was accidentally given extra food (that they can't take back and re-serve, of course). Though it was a slight inconvenience that my food was incorrect, the hostess was lovely and had a great attitude while handling the situation. She didn't know it was my birthday, but she really made my day by being so kind :) Not to mention, the food was amazing

Simply delightful. The Italian wine selection is amazing. The warm soft bread is sooo good. The lasagna was the best ever! The salad dressing was so fresh . You can taste the fresh lime and fruity olive oil. Everything was excellent and I highly recommend it.....

Man, we really love this place... it was our first date 14 years ago. However, tonight with a party of 6 it fell short. I will say we were 15 min late and they were gracious and understanding. However, we waiting soooo long for food & cocktails/ wine. The mussels were bad, the salmon was cooked as if it were tuna and the pizza was sub par. The carbonara was perfect but not overshadowing the rest of the tables disappointment. Staff is friendly and professional, perhaps the kitchen needs a wake me up ? This is an Austin staple so I expect this is a hiccup but needs to be addressed before we will be back.

6 of us headed here after a recommendation from a friend. It was every bit as delicious as we were told. Several of us got pizza, a few got pasta but we all got dessert. The variety is incredible and there selection of offerings is perfect. If I lived here, I d be back often. Highly recommend.

Great cocktails!!! Had a Paloma. Friends had Manhattan's. The Suppli is a must have!!! Could have eaten two orders if these by myself. Great service. The Bolognese was absolutely incredible. Rich sauce tasted like it had been on the stove ALL day.

This place was absolutely amazing. Best dirty martini, spaghetti carbonara and tiramisu ive ever had. Excellent bar service. Bartender Tom was super knowledgeable and helpful. If I lived in Austin I'd go all the time. There is a wait though and the crowd is definitely uppity. But the food is worth it.

The spaghetti is their most popular dish, so we had to try it. It's odd since it seems so simple, but it too was delicious. I'm really sensitive to spice--like, sorry, but black pepper is too spice for me--so I could not have eaten a whole portion because it would have been too spicy. But it's NOT actually spicy so don't really listen to me unless you too are so sensitive to spice that people laugh at you in public.

This is my favorite place to get Italian food in Austin. Everything is scratch made and delicious. I ve never had anything but a wonderful experience with both the food and the service, and have heard only rave reviews from those I ve recommended it to. I think the fact that they have more five star reviews than any other rating speaks for itself. Get the suppli (fried risotto balls) appetizer. It s so good, my husband and I have started getting two orders so we don t have to share.

Decent restaurant. Slow service, though. The bakery has great treats. They need more beer selections.

Too many tiny tables that don't leave room for food. And, it is very difficult to get a table for more than two people. That being said, the abundance of tinybtables does add a bit of a romantic air to the restaurant.

I like the food. Been here many times. But the waitress who served me by the bar tonight poured horribly on the wine.
If your a chick at the bar you get a 1/2 + wine glass full, otherwise you get 1/4. Maybe cuz I m male. Whatever. Very disappointed. Particularly on this subject

Had the Bolognese which was good and the cacio de Pepe which was fabulous but a super small portion.

Please learn on a Caesar salad to learn how to chop it up and make it more interesting than placing long leafs a Romain that I have to cut up myself call me lazy but figure something new out, totally boring
