Went in for dinner 3 chairs pushed together at the bar, people were spread out, I removed one chair and placed it at a table, bartender said he needs the chair back, that he has to have 12 chairs at the bar, thought he was joking, he was not, so we left, it was the third chance for this place, I recommend going to Botteccill for italian, but not if you want a bloody mary.
This place needs to research what a pork loin is as well, people here very rude and food is not worth the inflated prices that they charge. Better food at the food trucks on 1st street.

Outstanding food and cocktails! The lasagne is as good as advertised, and the salmon was amazing. Extensive wine list. Very affordable. If you arrive after 6:00 you're going to wait on line, but it's worth it.

This place is awesome. Went on a super packed Saturday night and was squished at a table in the middle. The food definitely made up for the packed atmosphere. We shared the cioppino among another things and It was incredible. Wine was delicious, service was incredible and also super friendly. If you are looking for a nice italian restaurant to go to, I would 100% recommend Vespaio. It is a little bit on the pricier side, but the quality matches it 100%.

Great place to sit at the bar, talk to the bartender from Oklahoma, and have a hanger steak. I always share it with my husband because the portion is too much for one. Also try their lasagna. It is made with spinach pasta and is to die for.

Great little Italian restaurant - simpler than the fancier version next door. Prices are a little better, cozy ambiance. A little small. Wonderful place to grab coffee and dessert on a walk after dinner if you eat at one of the other spots on SoCo.

Most authentic Italian restaurant in Austin. And don't tell them this, but they really should charge more for their dishes. Happy hour is also great: half off all apps and bottles of wine!

The Calamari and Ravioli at Enoteca Vespaio are amazing, this trendy bakery/restaurant has an amazing variety of both italian treats and great meals. Great for a date or night out, at an amazing location on South Congress, this restaurant is definitely worth trying.

Delicious fine dine Italian restaurant. Everything there is cooked to perfection and if you want, you can peek into the kitchen and see them tossing the pizza dough! It s great! They have a great wine selection and all of the servers really know their wine and Italian food! Over all a great atmosphere for a date! They have formal dining area and a bar area where you can eat as well as enjoy a variety of refreshing beverages! I would venture to say that this is the best Italian food in Austin!

Enoteca and Vespaio are bar none our favorite restaurants in Austin. We celebrate all of the important events in our family in one of the two. We have never had anything but outstanding service and unbelievably delicious food. Just looking at their menu makes my mouth water. I highly recommend Enoteca and Vespaio for any special occasion. Make one up if you have to!

Tonight's experience exceeded our emtire parties expectations. There were 7 in our party and we were quickly seated (they don't take reservations). For appetizers we ordered zucchini fries (delicious), risotto ball (cheesy flavorful), calamari (fried perfectly) and meatballs (i didn't get any ).
All main courses were equally satisfying. I tried the pork saltimbocca and parpadelle noodles with bolognese sauce....both some of the best ever.
Service was on point and friendly. Try to save room for dessert.

Locally owned and sourced. Have an impromptu antipasto ur delicious charcuterie and cheese board. Sit at the bar with Chase, yes, he'll be busy but he makes the best cocktails and is the epitome of a a wonderful caregiver. Ask for him at the bar .

If you like a casual but incredible, romantic, laid back spot with an incredible wine selection and exquisite food... THIS IS YO' PLACE! Couldn't rate it higher - the food, service, ambience, and wine is best of the best.

Lovely little restaurant on South Congress. They have all my favorite red Italian wines so that was a good start. The space was warm and inviting, and reminded me of all the places back home in Little Italy that we miss so much. We ordered the burrata which was just mozzarella, maybe we misread but I could live without it. But my entree was amazing. Ricotta ravioli with grilled octopus, green beans, corn, hatch chiles.....it was so so so good and the perfect amount. The cherry chocolate cake was great as well and their house made limoncello was delish. We will definitely be back again.

Vespaio is Italian food at its best: food representative of handmade pastas and fresh ingredients, just as you might expect from the Itallian countryside. Although the place is always crowded it retains a romantic feel with the dim lighting, intimate seating areas and the floor-to-ceiling wine rack. The Pansoti de Zucca is a dish where you can "feel the love" that goes into the carefully folded delicate handmade pasta shells that house the creamy butternut squash filling inside, topped with freshly grated parmigiano. Go ahead and swirl it around in the delicious sage butter brown sauce (think brown sugar). It is very sweet and for some it's dessert enough. The risotto dishes are also a solid choice; the last risotto dish I had here was with crab meat and it was fantastic, with lump crab meat in the center, surrounded by a bright yellow risotto. You also can't go wrong with the calamari appetizer or the Misticanza salad.

The red wines offered are mostly Italian and French. If you aren't familiar with the varietals ask your server for a recommendation; they are usually pretty knowledgeable about their wines. If you want one of the best Napa Valley offerings and have lots of discretionary income, then go long and order the Silver Oak.

Enoteca Vespaio is the place to go. Date night, girls night, alone, who cares. The patio is so nice, as you can enjoy a glass of wine and their amazing cheese board while people watching South Congress. The inside is a little crowded, but cozy. Dimly lit, and intimate. The bar knows their stuff and will direct you to the perfect wine. The service overall is awesome, which is what really brings me back or keeps me away from a place. I always get the rigatoni with pork meatballs and covered in cheese (yeah) and need a bed to fall into immediately after. They also have gluten-free pasta, which is nice because my husband can go and enjoy himself as well. They close early, but that's the only con I can come up with.

Had a wonderful dinner at Credo last night! I tried the risotto of the day, which was a delicious, fresh, and filling selection with tiger prawns.

To top it all off, Jeremy the host spoke to my friend and I about the quotes on the wall and their meaning and intention of provoking conversation. He even showed us the downstairs dining room which has even more awesome quotes and a great ambience.

For the food and the hosting, I'd give this place 10 stars if I could, and will definitely be coming back.

The Prosciutto Pizza was very greasy but also very yummy. The tiramisu was not good, probably the worst tiramisu I have ever had. The ladyfingers were cake and not soaked at all. Just tasted like cake, not worth $9.

Had a great night at the bar with Melanie and Tom. We used to frequent here often but hadn t been back for awhile because of kids and just life in general. Food was amazing, service was impeccable, conversation was easy and just made us happy to be at a true neighborhood bar. Husband wasn t feeling up to it at the end so we took the veal satumboca home.....I devoured it in 5 minutes. Delicious! Could eat the whole meal again tomorrow. Yum. Did I mention the service is amazing?

Overpriced and average Italian food. BUT the dessert list is CRAZY. Like huge selection and it's all amazing. Recommend for dessert and drinks rather than dinner, and sitting on their patio watching folks go by is nice.

So far the best Italian my husband and I have had in Austin. It was our first time here and we had an amazing waitress who was on point with recommendations and service. Our drinks were always full.

We had the sardine bruschetta for appetizer which was delicious. Ask for a side of olive oil with black pepper, salt and Parmesan to dip it in and take down (mellow out) the saltiness if the sardines.

The main was the homemade lasagna with the pasta made with spinach. This also had meat inside. I docked a star as this dish was a tad too salty. Granted I do love salty, but it would have been perfect had it been taken down a notch.

The other main was the prosciutto wrapped shrimp with fried risotto balls. This was delicious and came with a creamy shrimp spread for the balls and shrimp. It was also served with broccolini.

Overall, it was a great experience and our taste buds and tummy s were very satisfied. We will be coming back soon to try the other dishes.

I've enjoyed every meal I've had here. Great ambiance and menu choices (except the dessert selections). It's not the best place if you're in a rush but you're sure to enjoy a nice dinner and wine. Parking can be a pain along Congress but you can sometimes find spots in the neighborhoods.

Lovely choice for lunch. The Old World cafe ambiance was charming. I had a difficult time choosing what to order- everything sounded great. My waiter, Teddy, was excellent- fast, the perfect amount of friendly, and gave me suggestions. There's also a private parking lot.

Enoteca Vespaio at Austin was the place we settled for after two other places we tried in congress had a 3 hour wait time, and boy, we're glad we ended up here!

The food is delicious, and the environment makes you feel like you're in another country.

The serive was spot on, too. I will definately come back here next time I'm in Austin!

My favorite Italian in Austin. Great food and service. The fresh made mozzarella is to die for. Great and reasonable wine selection, even by the glass. Ask the waiter to bring you a cannoli from next door!
