Embassy Suites Tampa Downtown Convention Center Reviews

I would have given a much higher rating for my stay as I enjoyed the clean rooms and location of the hotel. However, upon getting my vehicle back from valet my great experience turned sour. I noticed a very long scratch on the side of my vehicle/door handle. It was noticeable to me because I had just washed my car before coming to the resort and there was dust/paint coming off the scratch. I awaited the call from a valet manager and to my disappointment they claimed that they were not responsible for the scratch. I reached out to front desk management and they were quick to dismiss me as well. I understand that the valet company is probably third party but I still feel like the resort is responsible for making it right as they have allowed such a company on it's property. When you work so hard for the things that you have it can be emotional when those things are destroyed. I'm not feeling great about this stay.

Great location, happy hour and breakfast. Poor local restaurants within walking distance.

Quick check in. Great staff and amenities for the weekend. Parking was easily set up. Room service was on point. It was very close in proximity to the 15k race I attended.

Terrible management and staff !!! We were checked in by Edwin at midnight. We had a about a 3 hr drive and came to town for the holiday. We went To our find to find stains all over the carpets chairs and sofas . We then opened the closet to see an access door to the ceiling wide open and a pretty big roach that crawled up into the ceiling after all this we were pretty tired and very disgusted. We called the gentleman from the front desk and he said maintenance was gone till the am but he would be up to see what s going on. 15 min went by and we called him and he said he forgot and will come right up . He came up and apologized and said someone would be up in the morning to address the situation and clean the room..... The whole next day my wife I waited for a phone call and nothing nothing nothing. When we called the next morning the ignorant arrogant manager acted like nothing really happened and offered a very small amount off our stay.. no one should ever deal with this type of service from a Hilton brand Hotel . I will escalate this experience to corporate to make sure they aware how little this place values their guests time.

If you are taking the Florida Bar Exam, this is the place for you to stay. It's a beautiful hotel. It's connected to the convention center via sky bridge, which makes it easy to go back and forth during lunch. You don't need to find parking. They even have lunch and hit dinner forms for bar examinees whose law schools aren't there, not providing lunch, or examinees who just want to not eat lunch with their school. This came in handy a lot. The only downfall was my celery was filthy during my dinner room service and the room service guy didn't discount it as promised. Oh, and my King bed was not ready when I arrived, so I opted for a double.

Extremely nice. Not only do guests receive the tradition free breakfast, guests also get complimentary drinks and light snacks from 5:30-7:30 nightly.

The room was nice the breakfast buffet was really good plus we did not have to check out until noon.

Nice hotel, but the restaurant has a 20 dollar charge of your not staying there.

Best views!! I stayed in room 1002 and it was awesome! Try the potatoes at breakfast- you won't regret it

We rented a car at the Avis in the hotel. It was about a 10 minute walk from terminal 2 at Tampa bay. The was also a Starbucks attached to the hotel.

Check in was fast. Parking costs were a little on the high side but it beat walking through the rain. Room was spacious and clean. Free Breakfast is the best with made to order eggs or omelette.Lots of food to choose from. There is also a a free evening snacks and drinks. Great hotel, not nickel and diming you to death and providing something more for the money.

Everything with this hotel is superb. The location - right on the Marin, right on the historical tram station, walk to Ybor, walk to the aquarium, bridge to conference center, parking lot across the street. The rooms are spacious, perfect bed and super clean. Free cooked breakfast, lobby is very elegant and comfortable. Pool. Starbucks on premise. Too top this all, with the Hilton app you can check in remotely, get a digital key and checkout. Never approached the front desk. Superb !

Beautiful place and it's like being in an apartment.

This review is for the average Joe. The guy or gal that usually stays in cheaper hotels and is thinking about spending a little extra for a night out. This is THE place!
Valet parking is efficient and courteous. Offered to just get my bag out of the trunk instead of bringing all the way up for one bag. Also helped pack the trunk when it was time to go.
Elevator view over the river was great. I was on the 16th floor so I got a great view.
3rd floor pool was clean and nice view, again, of the river below.
My family got a Suite for 1 night and the view from our room was GREAT! City skyline at night is awesome. Add fireworks from New Years and you got nothing short of spectacular!
Breakfast was GREAT! You know those half ok eggs and over greasy bacon you normally get with the average hotel? You don t get that here. Eggs better than your Mama s cooking. Bacon better than your favorite restaurant. Fruit fresher than the local health food store. Muffins better than the local bakery, and many other great choices.
Staff is also really helpful, polite, and knowledgeable!
If you are willing to spend the extra paper I HIGHLY recommend this place!

The hotel is ok... I have been to other EmbassySuites that are a bit more upscale.. breakfast was good, happy hour just ok, but room service and "trolley" cafe are just horrible, I had salmon burger one nite philly cheese steak the next... I was at hotel for conf. and due to surgery had limited mobility so I was stuck at convention center and hotel... my dining choices were limited... the food was so bad at this Embassy, I ordered Dinimo 's Pizza. I so love to stay to Embassy Suites on travel but this one not so much...

Still in some reno work, but mostly completed and great changes. Sufficient elec outlets and device plugs in rooms. Comfortable bed. Clean facility. Very good breakfast choices. Friendly staff. Definitely recommend!

It had double rooms, free delicious breakfasts including omelets. When l went there l stayed 3 extra days, longer than l ever have before because the service was so great. I had an incredible stay!

It was a very nice building with a very clean look and well lit. The food was excellent and wasn't something I had before. The only downside was the valet was slow in the building itself. The valets themselves were nice and worked well, but the clerks at the desk didn't seem to mind taking as long as they did. I would recommend to others.

Nice suite style room. Great water pressure and really hot showers! Room service was fast. Food was great and reasonably priced.

Excellent hotel in Downtown Tampa just steps away from the Tampa Convention Center and a Black away from the home of Tampa Bay s NHL team, the Tampa Bay Lightening. Great location for food and relaxation

Staff was courteous, lobby and kitchen under construction, renovated rooms (very small), buffet breakfast (no cook to order) served in atrium on communal tables, $30 parking fee.

Expensive valet leaves it up to you to find cheap but confusing parking alternatives. Pool has no shade and water is overheated, and pool lift & water fountains are broken. Help with accessibility needs like a shower-chair was too slow, but were ultimately resolved. No onsite food options or bar. The room was spacious but poorly laid out for wheelchairs having to maneuver around the bathroom door swing. Included breakfast is adequate. The elevators worked great.

The suite I was in was really nice but the hotel only offers room service, so if you didnt plan for that, then I advise u bring your meal. There was also a microwave and mini fridge on the room. Overall, it was an OK experience.

Lovely rooms, attentive staff, complimentary breakfast and cocktail hour is terrific. Wifi is embarrassingly slow.

Location was perfect with a wonderful view of the water. The breakfast was top notch and the happy hour was also wonderful.

Breakfast-incredible. Normally dont lime the open atrium floor plan - too loud. A/C wasnt too good.

As soon as you walk into the lobby you know you made a bad decision. This hotel is a dumping grounds for the cruise lines. People sleeping on couches and floors everywhere in the lobby because they don't have enough housekeepers to have the rooms ready by 4pm. We checked in at 2pm and was told to wait for a text when our room was ready. We didn't get into our room until almost 7:30pm we missed our dinner and arrived late to our event. Front desk offered zero help and wouldn't even comp us valet. You have been warned.

This hotel is beautiful, clean and has the friendliest staff! Our stay here was perfect!! I recommend the 20th floor Bay view!!

Crowded, loud, they have a guy stopping the cars as you pull in the drive way and I kidd you not, he holds each car for like 10 min with a whole conversation, very rude, no place working in hospitality! First impression was not a nice one

Booked through AMEX with points. So I got a room on the 7th floor looking at a wall and alley. Not happy with the view. The room was average. Although the sofa a chair were modern looking they were not comfortable. The bed was. Breakfast was great and the pancakes were the best I've ever eaten.

I stayed at this hotel for a conference held on the Tampa Convention Center. This hotel has very good accessibility to the convention center, but price is too high for what it provides. The amenities are not satisfactory: no disposable slippers, tooth paste, overall services are not something you expect from a hotel $200 per night. The worst part was internet speed, actually. It was very slow. Not to mention YouTube, even a normal website takes some time to load when it is slow. In conclusion, the hotel has good access to the convention center. However, it is unsatisfying for what you pay.

The stay was perfect, we stayed there the night before our cruise left and I accidentally booked the night prior. The staff was understanding and was more than happy to correct the mistake with no additional cost to myself. I am a diamond member with Hilton and this is why I always stay at their hotels when I travel.

Good cleaning, good attention. What the restaurant does not work. And the parking is charged. More than 200 for the safety of the cars design that when you leave they return it. It is very expensive to go to sleep just because everything is on the street. You have to have lunch and eat on the street

Good location. After a cruise, we picked up a car at the Avis rental car counter. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and helpful. I recommend using this Avis counter if you are planning on renting a car after a cruise that ends at the Tampa cruise Port.

Great location, well managed. Some sour notes: no soap dish in the shower (!) and a large sales convention while we were there. The open atrium magnifies the noise and the elevators and breakfast areas are easily overwhelmed. Check before you go.

Excellent place for organizing corporate events for professionals

This hotel is centrally located, has adequate parking, and has a nice view. We also liked the spacious lobby and the happy hour. The front desk staff were courteous and helpful, but elsewhere hotel staff needed hospitality training. The cleaning was sub-par in that our room had nail polish spilled in the bathroom upon our arrival. We didn't feel entirely comfortable.

Nice place, friendly staff, great breakfast, well worth a stop for a night or two.

We booked three rooms here for the ELO concert. We checked in at 5PM and have yet to be given a room. The lobby is packed full of guests they have no room for. Our bags are currently in a room with several other guests' also waiting for their rooms. I am not sure how you run a hotel in Tampa and are this incompetent. We will never be coming back.

We went into the bar to have lunch before our segway tour. The service was quick and respectful and the food was delicious

Terrible customer service at breakfast.. i go to embassy suites all over the country and this is the worst i have seen when they start shutting down the breakfast with families unable to get plates, drinks or food. Parents with kids who were down for breakfast 5-10 mts before closing still had to leave hungry because everything shutdown while they are scrambling to get food.. Ruins the embassy suites brand..

Lovely hotel. Nice pool. Fantastic breakfast. The hotel has a open area all the 20+floors are exposed to and during a convention can become a screaming chamber. Its hilarious.
