One of Michelangelo's most famous works and the biggest star in the collection of the Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence. Close to other museums and galleries in Florence, such a collection would not be so visited were it not for Michelangelo's David ...

With a heart of admiration... buy a ticket~ queue up... enter a door, then I will stay there... you are so peaceful~ kind and solemn standing there... all eyes are exudes jade Gem Shinhui's tall figure is infected... Careful eyes and tears are slowly approaching you... Tianhe... The blood is moving in you~ The muscles are rising on you~ The snow-like skin makes people can't help but want to touch... You are still alive~ you are still alive...you...you live in our hearts... Dear David... Love you forever...

Dumbstruck!! No point expressing or describing. One has to see it. Still, I'm going to give it a shot. My words are simple and comes from a depth of feeling. Only second to my being with my son on this trip to Italy, to Cinque Terre, Napoli, Pompei, a drive along the Amalfi Coast, Positano and Rome what made my heart skip several beats and took my breath away was Michelangelo's David!!! A absolutely Perfect teenaged (?) naked shepherd boy, ready to swing the stone, held lightly in his right palm, with the sling which is hanging over his left shoulder, barely visible to anyone in front of him!! The positioning, balance posture, ease of stance, frowning brows, eyes focused sidelong, the seeming plan in his mind, perhaps the certainty in his aim, almost surely the determination written all over in every perfectly sculpted muscle... It's got to be seen to believe...

Simply spectacular, we liked it a lot, it is not necessary to take tickets online, at 5pm there are few people, children up to 18 years old are free, online you pay management fees. Highly recommended

After seeing David in every museum and dipiction prior to visiting here I thought to myself would it really be worth it. It was certainly worth the two hour queuing I was in awe of the great craftsmanship. Luckily was entertained by some American tourists whilst queuing.

At least once in life you have to see this sculpture so well known. The access to the Academy is easy in the months of little affluence, otherwise it is better to book entry for 4 euros more. It is in the Gallery of the Academy and the only interesting thing is this sculpture.

Awesome. This could summarize what can be found in the Gallery of the academy. As soon as you enter, you can see a picture room, which I do not understand about any of these subjects, but for those who understand a little, you will surely enjoy it. On the right, there is a corridor to a musical instrument room and on the left is the room of David by Michelangelo. It is enormous and it impresses more, when before arriving at it, you see several blocks of unfinished statues, where the different stretches are appreciated until arriving to complete the work. It is impressive to imagine the care and the care to finish such a great work without breaking it. After seeing that room and the David there is another room with many Busts and statues of which many impress, although after seeing the David, they seem little. And finally to get to the exit other smaller rooms, where you can see different pictures. It costs 8 per person, but I think it's worth it.

Just take your time to really look at this piece of art. Than think of what someone would have had to do hundreds of years ago to take a large piece of marble and carve toes, feet, veins in the arms and the head not screw up after a few years working on it and say here's your piece you asked for, hope you have another one for me to make.

Absolute masterpiece, so good to see it in person and admire the history with it right in front of you. Be sure to look all the way around and listen in on a tour guide if you're feeling cheap :) Don't forget to look at the left foot where the crazy guy attacked it with a hammer in 1991!

Ay Davisillo !! All the things that you need for the lives of others and of the Royal family are not the ones you like the most in the world. They come to the festivals in the city of Madrid and what people told you that they do everything well.

You visit quickly. In this period there is no crowd. You can download the app at the entrance to warn you if someone comes too close to you. And the academy is always the academy. Wonderful

Awesome. Perhaps the most famous statue in the world and much bigger than I imagined. We were fortunate enough to only queue for 5 minutes and there was plenty of room to admire and photograph David. As we left, the queues ran for miles. Such an amazing work of art, you'll find it hard to believe that it's just a chunk of rock. Once in a lifetime experience.
