Lunch was good - glad to see a good vegan and veggie selection. Very efficient helpful waitress Roseanna, who pointed out we were entitled to a discount through the government scheme. We sat outside - for social distancing reasons and also I don't like music in restaurants, which this place had.
Worst place to go for a drink. You will be extremely hard pushed to get served in under 15mins. They have enough bar staff but they are slown and disorganised.
To add to it this is the 2nd suprise birthday ive attended there where they have completely run out of whiskey by 10pm... Also the DJ just increases the volume to drown out the noise of the crowd so ever conversation is limited to screaming basic sentences to the person closest to you.
If youre looking for a good venue or night out...keep looking!
I really enjoyed having brunch here. The waiters were nice and attentive. The interior decor was beautiful with all the cherry blossoms and I enjoyed my food. It was reasonably priced and well made
Didn t even get to sit at a table because when I said excuse me to the man working outside he refused to turn around and even acknowledge me, rather raised his hand. So rude and dismissive. I ve never been treated so discourteously in a restaurant. I will never go back. Abhorrent.
We were a party of five and unfortunately one guest s meal was omitted by human error. The forgotten dish was rushed through and even though kindly removed from the bill all the food was bland and tasteless.
Had the Thai Beef salad and half of it was cucumber, which wasn t on the menu as an ingredient. Also the beef is hidden at the bottom of the salad and bring your microscope because you ll need it to find the tiny portion of beef that is served.
Service was friendly but not particularly attentive.
Yesterday a group of us were at Drake and Morgan KC to celebrate and bring in the New Year but unfortunately we were left bemused and highly dissapointed at the service offered.
At approximately 11:45pm we attempted to get our last round of drinks inorder to cheers each other and celebrate the start of 2019 but when we got to the bar we were told by the bar manager and staff that they were no longer serving drinks. To make matters worse there was a tray of champagne flutes which the bar manager proudly stated was for him and his staff. Whilst myself and other customers stood looking at the staff in shock the manager and his staff joked around behind the bar and even started to break out into dance whilst they dismissed all customers.
I spoke to the barman before leaving to state my concerns and quite frankly he was unprofessional and very dismissive. His only answers were that the bar was closing at 12am( the dj was still playing at this time and customers were still in the premises) and that the plan was for his staff to have drinks at 12.
In all my years I have never heard of a bar manager catering to his staff before the customers in the establishment. Obviously the 30 or so customers (pratically dead in there with 0 atmosphere) in Drake and Morgan were there to celebrate NYE and therefore would want to have a drink at around this time. The least the staff could have done was to inform customers of the time of last orders but instead they were busy entertaining themselves.
I will not be going there again. It's a shame because it's in such a lovely location but the service was devastatingly poor.

I came to Drake & Morgan at Kings Cross on Tuesday 10th December 2019 to interview US Rapper Vinny Virgo.
I was trying to kick start my health before the new year comes in to play so I ordered a Green tea and it was lovely, was actually nice to have the teapot and have another cup. I like Drake & Morgan because even though it is quite lively it has great character and you can always find a quiet spot. The front of house staff were very attentive and polite.
We were able to conduct our interview and then went to the bar to take a photo. I must say my health kick went right out the window when the bar tenders gave us some shots! They had really great energy and good banter I actually didn't want to leave!
The only issue I had was no service on my phone downstairs and I couldn't connect to the wifi so it was a minor inconvenience when I was trying to communicate with PR but I have legs and only had to run up the stairs to reconnect. - This is the only reason I wasn't able to give 5 stars.
Aside from that I had a great time and was able to successfully interview Vinny Virgo.

Great ambience and vibe. No table available but we were able to sit at a table near the upstairs bar area and order bar food, seafood platter, which was amazing!! There were 2 of us but could have easily been shared between 4. Will definitely re-visit!

I had a buttermilk pancake with pecan and banana and the fresh mint tea. The pancake was nice but the still was too sweet for me the sirop was on the pancake already( that spoil it a little) I though they will give you the sirop on the side. I advice you to ask for the sirop to side.
The decor was warm and comfortable. I loved the fact they gave you the bill inside a book. Thats a actual very good idea.

Food was pretty nice but the kid's burgers were way too pink. They missed something off the food order and drinks ordered didn't come. Service needs a serious upgrade. Reckon you could do better around here.

Great dinner at this restaurant in Kings Cross. Such a good location, food was amazing & staff couldn't be more helpful. We shared the chicken wings which were so tasty and the beef brisket. I had the special which was rib of beef and was cooked perfectly. My girlfriend had the pasta which she said was better than our local italian restaurant. Our server Jessie was so friendly and chatty!
Went here for a work event, nice place decor wise, ambience etc...however you really need to have a word or get training for your bar staff! Appalling and arrogant attitude. Felt like we were an inconvenience when asking for drinks/service. Majority were not at all friendly and lacked customer facing skills. A friend received a soft drink in a cracked glass, went to the bar to let staff know who then poured the same drink into another glass! She said that she'd would like a new drink to be freshly poured, but instead got an argumentative no from the staff. Seriously?! Not a clue how to treat people. Our company was here hosting for clients, but did not have a great impression. Doubt we'll come back - would rather take our business elsewhere. Disappointing.
Great restaurant, cafe, bar close to Kings Cross. Excellent service and fantastic choice for a quality lunch/brunch or evening meal if you're traveling in/out of the station or have meetings nearby.
Prices are very reasonable and excellent choice.
The space inside and out is generous, booking is advisable but I've walked-in twice and been fine.

Went there for a Christmas dinner( a la carte menu), Service was Annoying and Food Below average and COLD!! Disgusting place. Never go there!!!!
The waitress stood on our head asking for food order within a minute of me sitting down.
She never offered or suggested any of their sharing platters (hidden on a side menu) even though we struggled to order nibbles For the table. So we ended up ordering a starter each.
Once ordered food came within 5 mins, no time for us to enjoy our drinks, given it was a Christmas catch up we would ve like to have some time before going in for our mains.
Then mains arrived as quickly, but the burgers were COLD and the side fries was COLD too!
Then we noticed that they make their fries and keep on counter in a big bowl, the staff keep nibbling on them with bare hands and when a portion is ordered they just pick a bunch and stuff a bowl. (Picking up and fries that might have fallen on the counter with bare hands - super unhygienic)
Absolutely disgusting! Would never recommend this place for a meal.
I ve been a couple times and I ve had a overall good experience. First time I went my steak was a bit over cooked. Staff took it back with no fuss and brought me out a new one. Also planned my work Christmas dinner here, there was abit of a mess up as somebody was unable to attend. We were able to rectify the issue in the end.
Ultimately the staff are quite helpful, food is okay and the atmosphere is great.

The rest was pretty bad.
1. The starters took a fair bit of time to arrives, majority of the group ordered the crispy squid. No consistency in portion size, some had more batter than actual squid.
2. The mains took at least 45 min to arrive after the starters where done with.... Could have been longer lost track of time.
When they did finally arrive I got my the corn fed chicken with Mushrooms.
I would not call it a main more so a starter small chicken beast 3 mushrooms and sauce... Where are the vegetables? Or any additional sides. Chicken was also dry and dense
3. Desert well its hard to mess up desert which they didn't, was fine.
Side note. My sister ordered the Side Mac & Cheese (set menu) which indicated on the menu as vegetarian by the menu legend of a carrot.
Someone may need to advise the chef that bacon is in fact sourced from a animal

Great venue although... probably the slowest bar tending you will experience in your life! At least at the ground floor. And you have to order at the bar so you will have fun sitting around and waiting for the bartender to tell you to wait some more while he is doing other drinks ordered 30 min ago. We came to Drake & Morgan's because there was an hour's queue at Granger's...I wished we'd waited as it would have saved me being up all night being very 'ill' with an upset stomach. I ordered the jerk chicken and not only was it the worst I've ever had...over cooked, tough, tasted 'strange' and bizarrely, watery...it was clearly off, which in retrospective i should have said something but as I was a guest it wouldn't have been appropriate. Naturally at this time of year It was busy - and when i was at Drakes once before and had the chicken it was pretty good - but no excuse for giving customers food poisoning.
Fantastic place. Away from the busy central square at King's cross though quite buzzy. We were lucky to get a quiet table at a cozy corner. The staff were great and really helpful and accommodating. The food is equally nice and worth the price. Would go there again

A really lovely venue with a beautiful ambience although the music i found was slightly too loud. Service was prompt and the server was friendly. Food was of good quality and quantity. We ordered 4 different dishes and every one was of a good standard
My only gripe was that when asked for the location of the disabled toilet, i was told it was at the bottom of aprox 25 stairs!!!!

The place looks nice enough for sure, but someone in my group had their bag stolen. They told the staff who said that was the 4th bag pinched that evening (FOURTH!) but they hadn't and still refused to call the police.
So if you're looking for a bar/restaurant where the owners / staff don't care if CRIMES are committed against their customers while on their premises, in fact they encourage FURTHER crime against their customers through inaction, then this is the place for you.
We can only combat indifference like this through open and honest reviews.

This is based on how I ve been personally treated and dealt with by these individuals and what I ve also witnessed.
I m beginning to think that your company and staff treat certain persons differently based on what they look like. It s a shame that there are businesses like yourselves that are stuck in the stone ages and fail to treat ALL of your customers with the respect they deserve.

Great place to meet for happy hour and stay for dinner because the food is delicious and shockingly affordable. Thursday night was busy and loud, just what you want in a vibrant place to meet up.
Average food and average service although the venue is big and nice but more for an after work drink rather than a dinner or brunch. No gluten free menu, brought food with gluten after specifically ordering gluten free food and 3 different waiters asking to take our order which had already been taken.
I loved it here! Went for breakfast with a friend and had avocado on toast with eggs. Prices were unexpectedly reasonable for the location and the food was really tasty with good quality ingredients!
A great 'buzz' and trendy atmosphere. Not a good place for a quiet chat as being so crowded the noise levels are high. Food acceptable but not outstanding. Location excellent. A stones throw from Kings Cross and St Pancras stations.
Drake & Morgan is very interestng place. The best food, delicious drinks in London and modern design! So nice and proffesional staff. The best in London bar, specialy Julia & Patryk, and the Best manager Jessy! I really recommend this restaurant and pub. 10/10, if I visit London I will come black again!
Great meal and had a good time . There was a lack of communication between the hostess and the kitchen. The hostess said we could have anything of the breakfast or brunch menu
However the kitchen refused to make anything on the breakfast menu we wanted.

I am surprised this place is much bigger than i thought it was when you look from the outside. It is a very relaxing place to have a drink and chill out but it will get very busy during Fri evenings you may not get a table. Tried the fish and chips probably a little bit too salty.
Had burgers and salads for lunch. The service was fast and delightful, food was delicious, my Granddaughter said that it was the best burger ever!.
The bar is very nicely decorated and the greeting staff were very nice. However, the bar man was extremely rude asking me to go outside to get a table number when there was no one sitting outside and all he had to do was give us a table number. He was so unwelcoming, and the server who broight us our food was equally as miserable. Food was good though , got buttermilk chicken and waffles.

I come here for meetings and drinks, they have great service from the bar, plugs, great seating areas where no-one bothers you and decent lunch time menu.
No fuss, sit where you will and I love to serve myself, so they let you take your drink and sit downstairs. Unlike others who can get fussing with seating. Coffee is good too.
Just one thing, the wi-fi isn't great so sadly not a 5 star but hopefully it will get better and I can amend my rating.
The place was nice and the food was alright. But I put my hand in chewing gum under the table and there were pretrodden chips on the floor.
I've been here twice now as I'm a local and the food has been disappointing on both occasions. The staff have a stinking attitude and honestly are incompetent with arrogance on top.
We walked in and it was fairly empty but was immediately told we could only stay for an hour and half. We obviously stayed longer because we're there for a meal and a sit down. And not much more people came in within those 2+ hours .
My friend wanted the nut roast and simply asked why it didn't qualify for vegan. A simple enough question... We assumed it was the Yorkshire puddings that stopped it from being a vegan dish but wanted to be sure. The waiter then (with an attitude) said it was ''obviously because of the meat juices'. Which was incorrect and took him about 15 minutes to find out he was wrong ... Like we'd predicted
The staff avoid you like the plague. My order of chips were wrong, took me ages to flag down someone to correct (chips now coldish)... They were returned to me the same with the missing items on top.
It's a shame the quality of food is poor and their staff are not helpful considering how lovely the space is. Good luck competing with other spots in the area.

The air conditioning could do with a turn on/up as it gets very hot in there and with the crowds of people, needs some cool air to make it tolerable.
Something is not quite right here. It is good looking place, with some nice touches i.e. Marmite on the breakfast tables, but its big, not often busy (when i have been in) and as a result feels like a hotel lobby, therefore can be a little soulness. Which is a shame as the food is good and the staff are great.

I have visited Drake and Morgan many times on a week day but never over the weekend. I booked for 10 people to celebrate a milestone birthday on Saturday. We waited a short while to be seated which was fine. They were very welcoming and attentive and the menu accommodated all dietary requirements. They had a DJ down stairs although the music could be heard throughout the restaurant. This added to the atmosphere (of course only if it is to your taste of course!!). There was a steady flow of people but not too much so we didn't feel we had to rush our meal. Really lovely evening enjoyed by all. Thank you ftom us all to all the staff particularly the person that served our table....Oh and for showing my son how to open a bottle of champagne.
Was here for cocktails only, in the evening (on a Saturday), so just judging the drinks. The service downstairs was average, and the cocktails were not as nice as their descriptions: They mainly just tasted of one ingredient, and the presentation was lackluster.
The only exception was the Pornstar Martini, which I really liked (It wasn't sweet, and really strongly tasted of passion fruit)! I also like that the music wasn't too loud to have a conversation.
I m new to London and have been looking for a spot to grab cocktails and a nice dinner. My evening spent at Drake & Morgan was absolutely perfect, due to two amazing guys! Service was impeccable and timely, thanks to Yoanny and Omari. I will absolutely be returning soon! Thank you guys!

Amazing venue with different spaces! Also great atmosphere! The only problem is that it is super loud and difficult to hear music or even talk to friends! Acoustics should be improved...
Edit: decided to try out this venue now for breakfast and I am now editing my review as it was soooo disappointing! While the place is still beautiful, the service is SO bad I will not be going back for a meal ever! Took so long to take our order and were just like: so what do you want?! Then, didn t even bring our dishes... they were just sitting there on the counter for so long, my friend had to stand up and take them before they got too cold to eat, never came to apologise for that nor to ask if everything was ok... appalling...
Me and my stumbled upon this lovely place late in the evening after a long day of working. Yes I've been in for a meeting downstairs but this time it was special. The late night coffee, blankets and calming aroma on the outside (kings cross) just allows you to forget about the world.The staff are amazing and they won't kick you out or make it awkward. If you want a chilled evening with some drinks in London this is a great spot!
This place is really well decorated and looks very nice. From what I could tell it was also very clean. However I was quite disappointed to get there for midday on Saturday only to be told that their breakfast menu was only served until 12. It doesn't give timings for different menus anywhere on the website. The menu I was presented with was extremely limited. I asked about having a croissant (having walked past a table with about 20 on display as I entered) to be told by the waitress that she would check and see. It was an annoying experience. I won't be rushing back here but wouldn't be hugely opposed either. I might give it a second chance, but there's so much else to offer nearby.

I m not the kind of person to leave reviews, but this incidents was not one to be ignored. I Am also not the kind of person to bring race into anything. Last night I went to Drake and Morgan yesterday for the first time mainly for being attracted by the beautiful flowers, I luckily found a table outside. My friend arrived a few minutes after me, so when I went inside to order drinks I realised it ll be better to sit inside as it was a bit loud where we were sitting. So while waiting for my coffee to be prepared I tell the bartender (short Asian man extremely rude) that oh we changed our mind we re sitting inside now, which he followed by yeah you ll still have to pay now (not the rude part yet, keep in mind were sitting indoors now) so I was like fine can I pay you now and go join my friend at the table he s like no wait till I m done making the coffee, at this point he s done, place the coffee on the tray pick up a piece of brownie with his bare hands and places the tray in front me. So I look at him and say why do I have to carry that when everyone here is having table service like any other restaurant he literally told me and I quote it s a self service restaurant when I can clearly see that it is not. So at this point I ask him why is he being rude and that I m literally a paying customer like everyone else around me and showed my frustration, he followed by saying oh well I don t give a sh**, if you want to talk to the manager you go ahead. Another bartender (who s black with short dreads) heard him saying that and told me in a lower voice don t worry I ll bring it over multiple times as the rude bartender kept going on about how he doesn t care and that he ll call the manager for me if it s needed, The other bartender came to my table apologising about his colleague and that his issue is that he doesn t know how to speak to people! Really? A bartender in a so called restaurant not being able to speak to people. Tbh I never felt so disrespected, absolutely unacceptable! If I can give 0 review I would ve!
