Great food, great staff, great atmosphere and most of all great beer! If you don't like Innis & Gunn, or are unwilling to pay more than an average pint, then don't even bother coming in! Let alone giving the bar a 1 star rating because you're too tight, or don't like the drink selection!! Bore off.

We had dinner and a few beers with friends this evening. I want to thank the staff who made us feel incredibly welcome and were wonerful in what I realise were strange circumstances. Thank you. You made us feel welcome, safe and happy.

Loved it! Innis & Gunn have been brewing my favourite beers for many years. I was looking forward to the opportunity to eat at their Beer Kitchen in Edinburgh.
Definitely not disappointed. It was great. Our server was fantastic. The food was delicious. Great atmosphere. Of course, the beer was superb. Our server brought several samples of beer. I enjoyed every one of them.
Now, if they would only open one up in Toronto, Canada.

The food was good and Lewis on the bar was fantastic - his knowledge of whisky made my night! He helped me pick a few tastes and explained the process and differences between malts. However, it took us 5 mins standing at the door being ignored before we got a seat - even though it was quiet inside. My favourite part was the scallops.

Food was good and there's an interesting selection of beer as well. Considering we were at Innis & Gunn in Edinburgh, the experience didn't feel that different from any other restaurant, which was a bit disappointing.

Very disappointed in our visit to Beer Kitchen Edinburgh yesterday 2/7/17.
Out celebrating family birthday arrived at Beer Kitchen busy as I imagined it would be.
We didn't know the etiquette stood waiting see if a staff member approach no one did.
We decided to make our way to empty seating we seen. Walking by waitress in picture added she made a remark very aggressive I thought sent us back to stand we did not know if was at stairs door etc. there are no sighs as you would expect if you had to wait to be seated that fine.
This staff member had eventually made her way to waiting area that was beside us whether she was under stress or just had bad day she proceeded to take it out on myself and family.
I said to her we didn't know where in pub she meant us stand as there are no signs suggesting we do so nothing . We had waited for someone to seat us it didn't happen no one around no signs or instructions to guide customer so we assumed we seat our self. No way should we have to be met by staff member being aggressive then not let us into empty seating but insist we go back stand in area with no signs or instruction.
Due to me mentioning this she became more aggressive in attitude . I again explained there was no one came forward to seat us... No signs suggesting we stand wait to be seated what else can customer do...
By this time she had built up an anger I was met by aggressive staff member refusing to serve my family asked us leave.
I have never been more embarrassed in my life or indeed been ask to leave any premises ever was very shocked also family very disappointed could not celebrate a birthday.
Most shocking customer service I have received in my life.
I couldn't get hold of a manager to put my complaint decided to put it here. and few other places before I contact head office requiring how their staff lack customer service being competent in customer focusing role.
I just want the public see how one staff member with an aggressive nature can have huge effect on business no management prepared to come forward sort out a resolution totally ignored.

A perfectly good experience, the bar has a solid food offering and the strongest range of Innis and Ginn Beers in the city including many seasonal offerings. There is also a brewery school on the site that allows you to make your own beer.

Unfortunately, service is very poor.

First time here despite being a big fan of the Innis & Gunn range. The previous incarnation from looking in seemed a little cosier add has been very recently refurbished into a sort of indoor beer garden.

I should say we utilised a itison voucher we got as a gift but have to say the quality of the food was outstanding, best steak I've had in a while, beautifully tender but had a really tasty roasted onion crust on top.

The service was great from our waitress although we did wait slightly longer than I would expect for our food.

If your planning to eat it's definitely a more casual place, the extremely loud music and general noise and bustle make it difficult to even hear one another.

Burgers and hot dogs coming out did look delicious and perfect eating with the great range of beers.

Well recommended.

Unimpressed glad we tried it out on a Wowcher voucher as I wouldn't like to have paid full price for a disappointing experience. Despite booking a couple of weeks in advance stating Wowcher deal, we were left standing by the door for a good 10 to 15 minutes whilst the female member of staff checked with other staff members regarding the voucher. Due to the steak included in the voucher being unavailable, we were told that we would receive an upgrade to ribeye at no extra cost. Let's just say, I wouldn't have liked to have been downgraded!!! The flatbread and 'dips' consisted of very warm and fresh flat breads and 'dip', singular. Steaks were cremated on the outside and very chewy on the inside. Delicious peppercorn sauce and the chips were lovely as well. Not too impressed with the stodgy and tasteless mac and cheese. 'Cheese' flavour was certainly lacking and the consistency was very dry and congealed. Despite the social distancing screens between tables, could hardly hear each other talk for other customers as it's a very echoey environment and found it extremely difficult to hear staff talk especially when they're masked. Kept having to ask her to repeat herself. We were very hungry after walking 17kms around town, so it filled a hungry hole but I'm not sure if I'll go back.

Great selection of rotational beers to choose from. Experience is always tarnished by the unnecessarily loud music and other customers having to shout over eachother to have a conversation, which means we always leave earlier than we would like because it's just far too noisey. Would be 5/5 if they just learned to adjust their music volume to a reasonable level.

This place was round the corner from our hotel and we simply thought why not with no idea of what to expect. Modern in decor with lots of new ales but the staff and the atmosphere and the music were brilliant. It was a lovely night we had there. Not too busy (weekday night) but still a grand place.

I've always been a big fan of Innis & Gunn beers so when I was in Edinburgh I had to visit. I loved their selection of beers and had quite a few. The food was good - it's nice to see their beer being used in the dishes. The slow cooked ham that my wife had was excellent. Service was very good, I'll be back!

Have a great time with family and friends last saturday for a Beth special event...but seems that the staff (1or 2) were not so enthusiastic in serving us..
The fact that our family and friends made big time purchased in the bar after our lunch in the nearby restaurant, i find it quiet unfriendly and unwelcoming.
Anyways, we just let it go our heads and enjoy the family celebration til 7pm.

Good

Previous visit the unpasteurised lager was off as they were cleaning the pipes. Recently the smoked porter was off, but still on the board hours later. Is it too much to ask that the available beer list reflects realty. Who knows what else is up there but not actually available

An almost great experience. The scotch egg was truly one of the best I ever had, and Innis & Gunn beer was equally as delicious to wash it down. The tap list was quite extensive as well. But...all of this felt really over shadowed by the extremely slow service. From when I walked in (with a reservation), to trying to place and order, to recieving my food, to trying to get my bill, then to flag down my server to pay with a credit card, it took so, so long. Benefit of the doubt, they were just understaffed that night. I wish service had been more attentive, so I could have experienced more of Edinburgh that night. Give them a try anyways!

I love Innis & Gunn beer, and it tastes 10x better here than it does anywhere else. The beer goes down well, almost too well! The grub is new and tasty and the staff are quick and friendly.

This is a cool place to go for a tasty pint.
