I bought a Golden lift chair from Progressive Mobi...

I bought a Golden lift chair from Progressive Mobility in Washington Pennsylvania. The chair was over 2000. dollars and was a custom order.
I have a part that snapped from off of the motor that raises the foot rest of the chair. I'm trying to replace that part. I do not understand why the fork part snapped like this, because there was no reason for it to do so. I am not rough at all on the chair, and I am not overweight putting strain on the chair. The part had to be defective.
The part is a plastic screw in fork that goes into the shaft that lifts the leg part of recliner. I ordered one off of Amazon, but the fork was a little too large and will not work. I don't need a technician to come to my home to fix it because all I need is the replacement part. I can put the part on myself. Its not hard to repair, but is hard to get parts for my chair. I do not know where to buy them. I just need the fork that screws into the shaft so the leg lift will rise. After the fork screws in, I can re insert the pin to allow the chair to lift the leg part of the recliner. I do not know where I can order that part and without that fork my chair is useless and will not work. My chair is still under warranty, but the warranty is useless because I cannot get the parts I need without a technician coming to my home. Again, I do know what's wrong with the chair and I just need that part. Progressive mobility only wants to send a technician out to charge me money for services I do not need. I simply need a part. They will not sell me the part. They said that they do not sell parts, even though I paid alot of money at their store for this chair that is supposed to be under warranty. The catch is even under warranty if a tech comes out to your home, you pay for those services. You pay for the labor and the service call. So even under warranty the store you buy the chair from, still makes money off of service calls by not selling you the parts so you can fix it yourself.
Like I said, this expensive chair is useless unless you can get the part to fix it. I would hope that Golden would want to make this right somehow. It's terrible because I really need my legs lifted and the longer I can't use my chair the more pain I have in my legs. This chair is medically necessary for me. I am so miserable without the use of my chair. I just want everyone to know to be aware that it's hard to get parts for these chairs. You can know how to place the new part on the chair, but if you can't get the parts you can't repair the chair. Buyer beware. I'm so upset about my chair, and I love the chair when it works.

If I could give 0 stars I would . The most unfriendly and worst customer service I ever had to deal with. The staff is Very unprofessional . If you need any medical equipment please do your research and do not use progressive Mobility. There are several quality equipment companies that provides outstanding costumer service I.e. Washington Medical equipment , Blackburns, Punxy medical to name a few.

We ordered a lift chair from here, due to my needing 2 knee replacements. Because the color I wanted would have taken 8 weeks to arrive, I went with the fast-ship color. What a joke. Not only does nobody return your phone call from this place, the chair should have been ordered 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. I was then told the chair would finally be in on Dec. 21st, 6 weeks AFTER the order was placed. Guess what? No chair on the 21st and no call from Progressive. They are super attentive PRIOR to you placing your order, but afterward, forget it! Use another company. If I could cancel my order and go with another service provider I would. This is wholly and completely unacceptable customer service. At this rate, I won t see the chair until after the new year. I could have had the color I wanted for the amount of time it has taken, meanwhile, my knees pay the real price.

I have bilateral lymphedema and have to keep my legs elevated a lot to keep swelling in check.. For three years I had trouble with open wounds on my legs and was in and out of the hospital with infection and finally had to have surgery to fix an umbilical heurnia that I had been suffering with for nine years.. I had trouble getting comfortable in any position and had been sleeping in a sitting position for years do to discomfort.. Progressive Mobility was a life saver, I got a lift chair right around the time when I had the heurnia surgery and have been able to elevate my legs.. After three years of hell and being in and out of the hospital eight or nine times, I'm glad to say I have not been hospitalized since I have had the lift chair.. Thank you Progressive Mobility and Kathy Brown for helping me.. Also I got a new cane from them the Hurry Cane.. Stands on its own and wasnt too expensive.. Thank you guys...

Attempted to procure mobility device through Progr...

Attempted to procure mobility device through Progressive Mobility (due to permanent disability status) with full medicare insurance. Progressive turned simple process into three month nightmare; with repeated communication breakdowns, failure to follow up important deadlines, inaccurate information, and total incompetence. At one point during application process, Progressive just dropped-out of contact; when I called, they did not even know who I was, with process halted.
Once Progressive did restart process (after nearly three months), the manager lied indicating medicare would only cover 'three wheeled mobility devices'. After lie was countered by direct confirmation from medicare; Progressive did an 'about-face' informing me they could get a four-wheeled device; but it was considered 'upgraded' equipment. Thus, I would be required to pay $740.49, and sign document indicating I would pay full price if medicare failed to cover cost.
Dropped Progressive and hired honest medicare assignment company for device procurement. Entire application process was repeated (including doctors visit and physical therapy evaluation). Correct four-wheeled mobility device was procured quickly, professionally, and without issue (completely covered under standard medicare coverage). Total out-of-pocket cost was only $134.00; this after Progressive attempted to defraud me out of $740.49 for identical medicare approved equipment. Clearly Progressive Mobility is quite comfortable defrauding unsuspecting disabled and older consumers; by telling them just about anything to complete a sale. It would seem Progressive wanted to move inventory on less-popular mobility equipment; and thought disabled customer would be easy target for fraud. Dealing with Progressive cost me the entire summer without desperately needed mobility device. In addition, I was forced to pay additional funds for repeated doctor and PT visits, not to mention hasle and frustration dealing with crooks.

Received our lift chairs in a timely manner. The gentlemen that brought them were very courteous and put them together promptly. The one chair back didn't want to snap in place at first but they made the adjustment and fixed it right away. We are really enjoying our recliner lift chairs. The color of the leather goes looks nice in our living room also.

We have had many poor customer service interaction...

We have had many poor customer service interactions with this company. There has been many lack of returned calls, lack of updates the actual product that they provided was not properly set up. No customer service on weekends which is pretty unbelievable. We ordered a very expensive Quantum mobility chair for my father with ALS. The order was not placed on time, delaying delivery a month past it's expected delivery date. For someone with less than a year to live, this is unacceptable. The chair that was delivered, was without the ordered rear control assist and the controls were not properly set up for someone in his condition. My father (losing his ability to control his arms/hands) lost control of his chair and cleared out some furniture in his family room. We're very lucky he didn't end up crashing out the windows. This could have been prevented with the correct controls and speed settings. My mom also almost had a bad accident when trying to get my dad into their van due to not having the rear controls. They also lacked the foresight to add head controls to his unit. We've now been waiting additional months for a head control unit to be added to his chair. This is something that should have been added to original order, or at very least, promptly added during subsequent visits when it was apparent my dad couldn't control the joystick. The people that work for this company, and the owners need to remind themselves that they provide an incredibly important service to people in need. Service like this is completely unacceptable.

I have never posted a review regarding any business before, however I feel so strongly about my negative experience with this company that I feel compelled to warn other consumers to stay away from this company. I am a patient with ALS which requires the use of a wheelchair. The performance of the company from the president to the sales staff to the service people has been so abysmal that I have never seen anything like it in my life. From a business standpoint it is hard to believe that they can remain in business. From a moral standpoint, it is reprehensible that a company which is in the healthcare profession to help those who are less able should be so callous to their needs. I have contacted the president of the ALS Association of western Pennsylvania to let them know that this company practices well below the standard of care. There are other equipment providers in the area, and the general public would be best served to seek services with anyone other than progressive mobility.

Could not be more grateful for the folks at Progessive (particularly Kim) in working with us to provide equipment for our mother. The insurance company has been a complete nightmare, but Progressive has been working hard with us for months to figure it out. Their genuine concern that mom not be without what she needs is such a comfort.

I got a chair lift from this company. They were very responsive, nice and very competent. The sales person, Carson, came to my home and we discussed the installation of the chair. Then the installer, Zack, came and was right on time. The installation went exactly as they said it would. These folks are very nice and the product is great. I have 17 steps to get into my condo and I don't know what I would do without my chair. Great investment. I also had to get a new refrigerator delivered after the chair was installed and it was no problem. My steps are 40 inches wide but with the chair folded up, the delivery people had no problems getting around the chair. I would recommend this product and this company.

I am extremely pleased with the new stair lift that Progressive Mobility & Medical installed for me and was helpful going over the stairlift operation.

I have/had 2 stair lifts from two other companies and was extremly disappointed and disgusted with many things including not being able to contact the company yet let alone having someone work on the stairlift once it went into a maintainence mode ( complete shut down).

They keep your specific needs in mind and fit the chair to your measurements. Their service is also timely and their staff is well trained. Overall a great company to do business with.

With my waiver program I had to get three bids for a stair lift progressive came into high so they didn't get the bed however they were partitioned out to get me my suitcase ramps.

I have been waiting for over four months and just seen an email that said they don't understand why the company that got the stair lift bid can't get me my ramps also. So they made a poor disabled person suffer because they didn't get the bid for the stair lift.

Such shameful practices I will also be writing to the Better Business Bureau about them! Ame Uncle Rick on WPXI loves stories like this where the consumer is treated so unfairly especially someone that's disabled!!

,***UPDATE*** the company has finally started working with us on this and made a genuine apology

In Sept. 2019 I purchased an aluminum frame walker for my 95 year old mother from Progressive Mobility. They were good enough to send a rep to my mother's retirement home with some samples, one of which I purchased. The rep was very knowledgeable about the correct use and adjustment of walkers and my mother and I learned some things we did not know. All in all, a good experience from a good company. Highly recommended.

Progressive Mobility has been GREAT from my first encounter. I've purchase 2 Power Chairs through them and for both chairs, they helped extensively with the insurance approval process, coordinating, doctor, insurance and rehab; was considerate of my financial concerns and abilities; and, when I needed service, responded quickly.
Everyone I've dealt with, (and I think I've dealt with everyone at one time or another), has been courteous, understanding, thorough and helpful. I don't think I can speak highly enough about my experience with Progressive Mobility.

You would think that someone would call you back to close a cash deal on a custom wheelchair. The rehab department has the absolute worst customer service I have ever dealt with. The chair is supposedly in, but no delivery arrangements have been made. Go somewhere else!

My mother and I have bought two chairs from Progressive Mobility and they are exactly what we wanted/needed! Recently, my mother had an accident and was moved to an assisted living facility. I couldn't find anyone to move her chair over there and decided to just get her a new one.
When I called Progressive Mobility, they very kindly let me know they would move the chair for me for a very reasonable price! I am thrilled with this company and will purchase any needs from them. I highly recommend them!

Great people to deal with, Elizabeth work tirelessly on my lift chair with the department of aging, calling, emailing, texting, and keeping me in the loop, doing all of the paperwork, several weeks later I get a call, I have been approved, not long after, my beautiful new lift chair arrived, they did a wonderful job placing the chair, going over all functions of the chair and cleaning up after themselves. The chair is great, just what I needed, it will be a great help with my health issues, thank you Progressivemobility, especially a special thanks to Elizabeth, a job well done!!
