Clean and big airport

Clean and big airport
Toilets are convenient in some places, but cleanliness is not as good as Japan.
There are a variety of souvenirs, Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks, so you can rest assured even if you have a break in your spare time.
However, security was severe and I and another in a group of about 30 people were confiscated for mobile batteries for smartphones.
When asked why, it was said that it was a size problem, but people with more capacity were fine.
It may be because the manufacturer and capacity prints were gone.
Please be careful when bringing in the battery.

Kind of dirty and the foreign entry was long. Remember to bring your entry and exit paper. I had to give my fingerprints twice, once at the machine and once with the officer who was very rude. You would also think that the customs officers in an international airport would know English. Luckily, I knew Chinese so this wasn't an issue for me, however, if you don't, I can see how this would impact your entry time greatly.

It s farther away from the city center compared to the Hong Qiao airport. By Didi, it costs around 182 yuan (from Xuhui district). By subway, it s only around 8 yuan but takes 1.5 hours. This airport is spacious, split into terminal 1 and 2. For international flights, the immigration line was manageable, short queues.

There are a lot of people at the airport.
In particular, I do not know if it is characteristic of China airport,
From airport security check to check
Very tiring people.

Not recommended for international transfers.

Even if you are only transiting to another international flight you need to do fingerprints, immigration (24h visa free entry), customs, security and exit immigration.

The staff were repeatedly confused by my onward boarding pass, resulting in huddles and hushed discussion that always dissolved into a wave forward to the next stage without explanation. And the gate staff were convinced that I had checked baggage for no apparent reason.

To be fair, everything worked smoothly despite the inherent inefficiencies, but I am surprised that they aren t set up as a transit hub like most large international airports.

The airport is very large. If you are far from the gate, you need to walk a certain distance. If you have more time for security, it is recommended that you reserve the time for security clearance.

The airport is very modern and large. It looks possibly too big for the number of flights, and the number of shops is not excessive. Yet, I found all I needed and plenty of seats. Restaurants are very good as well and prices are not too high. The queues at the check-in, immigration and airport controls were nowhere near as bad as I had thought.

I liked the architecture of the building.

The direct point of constructive criticism they need to understand is that they must provide better instructions for international transfers. It's easy to become confused if you don't come here often. Secondly, the passport and boarding pass check for international transfers needs to come out of the beta test and get an update so they read better. Thirdly, why must a water purchased at a duty free shop elsewhere be confiscated by Shanghai?

One of the international airports in Shanghai. It is wide and is a beautiful airport.
There are Pudong (Pudong) and Hongqiao (Hongqiao), but there are many international flights in Pudong, most of the flights with Japan arrive and depart from Pudong International Airport. Pudong and Hongqiao are less than an hour by shuttle bus. I think that movement in China dominates the use of high-speed railway, but since the main terminal of high-speed railway is a Hongqiao bridge it is necessary to move.
From the center of Shanghai, it takes about 1 hour by subway (you only have to change trains on the way, but change to the opposite side of the home).
Both domestic and international lounges are available in the priority pass.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport is one of the two international airports in Shanghai and a major aviation hub of East Asia.

Pudong Airport mainly serves international flights, while the city's other major airport Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport mainly serves domestic and regional flights in East Asia.

Good airport with modern amenities, but their gates next to smoking rooms (gate 213-216) are horrible. Also, almost everything is mentioned in Chinese so its not so easy to get certain services (such as free wifi). But overall this is way better than JFK or LAX.

Excellent airport! Super Clean and Organized. Airport authorities like Customs ... are available to help passengers once they arrive in China. With signs, they explain the procedures to enter the Country as you register in the Facial Recognition machines .... It is
Very well marked and easy to locate within the airport. It has many coffee shops and its staff are friendly. Very good experience take me from that airport

An airport of utter stupidity. The plane taxied for 25 minutes before it stopped at the middle of nowhere. All the passengers were required to take a shuttle bus which again took another 20 minutes to reach the actual terminal. China is really a land of impossibility and I admire the patience of all Chinese people.

Very angry !!! I made a stop at the Shanghai airport to then go to Cambodia and for the same return. The staff is very boring (to avoid saying they are ***). I bought a snowball at Charles de Gaulle airport in France and in China it does not pass, I insist to keep it for several minutes and they tell me to iron all the controls with a paper that they gave me with my snowball, so we redo the whole course and then they tell me again that I can not keep it. So I had to leave him there. In short a very big waste of time, especially that it is very badly indicated, one does not know where to go. unfortunately we can not put zero star, so I put a star to the Asian that I found super sexy, so she looked really nasty, that felt me everywhere to pass a check. (But when I had to redo all the controls for my snowball that I could not keep, well it was more the same woman who palpated me LOL).

For the return we had 6:30 of waiting in Shanghai, with a friend, we said we will be really bored but we can rest a little. Well no. Already we turn round for a very long time, one shot we told to go left and then we are told to go right. We lost a lot of time and then we had to queue for a check, there were a few people, but it took a lot of time. Then another check, my wallet does not pass (while to go there was no problem for my wallet). They see that with my wallet I can make flames, I explain to them for several minutes that it is a working tool in the magic and that it is not functional because it is necessary to add gasoline to lighter. Well no, it does not ... I had to remove the magic part of my wallet ... and that is relatively expensive. In short, once passed all control, it was not even 20 minutes before leaving to take the plane to Paris. So we had 6:30 !!! Either 6h to look where to go, to pass the controls! A chance we had a lot of time in front of us, otherwise we missed the plane. In short I strongly advise against making a stopover in Shanghai. Another thing too! When I returned to Shanghai, my suitcases and my friend's bags were forced, the suitcases were damaged. There, I think I've done everything.

I had a very bad experience at this airport. Chinese people are very rude and careless. They are cold hearted people ill mannered. This is by far one of the worst airports I ever been to. There is NOwhere to sit down or sleep to get comfy for long layovers especially 24 hour layovers there. The hotels there are overpriced and at least $60 a night per hotel. The Chinese staff at the airport yelled at me and did nothing to absolutely help me when they told me I didn't have my itinerary ticket and forced me back out of line and I got pretty lost. The staff wasn't in a really good mood, NO smile. Chinese people don't know how to smile or be helpful at least courteous. The Chinese staff ignored me. I cried in tears at the airport because Chinese people were very hostile and rude to me. I asked them respectfully politely for directions and I get different answers. This is a 3rd world country. So nobody appears to be professional or correct. Chinese people give me wrong information. So I had to ask my fellow travelers for help. NEVER fly with any Chinese airline ever again. It's ridiculously cheap rides to and from China is very attractive in price of an airline ticket but it is not worth running into these cold hearted people with no soul nor compassion. Chinese people are the rudest people I have ever encountered at any airport.

Have transited through this airport several times throughout the years, and prefer it over Beijing. Signage is good - easy to access transfer and visa-free travel areas. The bathrooms aren't clean, which is surprising considering how many custodial staff there are.

From the moment you get close to the ground, you can't see anything because of fine dust.

If you do not use China Eastern Airlines via diesel, you are advised to cancel immediately.

At other fine airports, when you buy a transit ticket, your luggage will go to the destination when you first check in. This is not the case.

If you line up to get a temporary visa, you should have at least five minutes of screening time per person. If you need to move from Terminal 2 to 1, check your luggage again.

How do you check in and go to immigration? All secondary batteries should be removed.

Now if you try to use Wi-Fi while waiting for a flight, you will be surprised by the amazing Chinese Internet, which is not even YouTube. The terminal is long, one-character, but moving walks are not bidirectional like Incheon, but only one way.

Extreme Shanghai Airport ..

When leaving the baggage, the corresponding staff had the worst attitude. This is a young employee of a woman. If I think I can deal with unfriendly faces, I will start talking to my staff. If you have your baggage checked, please put your passport back so that you will wait too long. I thought I could say earlier. The explanation is not sufficient. I am shocked by the low level of professionalism. I hope that you stop working directly with your customers. Please do it behind the scenes.

I have talking about my staff if I thought that I could cope with my unfriendly face. If you have a baggage check I will stunned by the low level of professionalism. I want you to stop work that directly agreed customers. Please do not have your passport back so it will make you wait too long. It behind the scenes.

The Women's . No love, I want to talk about Yan Yan, and I don t want to talk about it. Let's talk about it first. The explanation is insufficient. low . The customer is directly concerned with the official business and business. Inside.

The airport contains several terminals, both for international flights and local airlines. It is necessary to watch and look carefully at the ticket. Unprecedented security measures. Without passing your suitcase of control, your boarding pass and passport will not be returned. You can almost reach him by taxi or high-speed train. But if there are a lot of suitcases, it is better to take a taxi. Taxi drivers like all over the world. They take advantage of your lack of rights and drive you through all of Shanghai, winding up on a trip in excess of the normal fare from 50 and above yuan. There are no words addressed to them, only expressions. The airport itself is modern, Wi-Fi is free with a Chinese phone. Expensive to eat and drink a cup of coffee. Well, the price of souvenirs is 2 to 3 times more expensive than in the city itself (though you need to know the place). Minus - there are no permanently functioning airline racks for baggage claim. We have to wait for the check in. Well, the passage through the security system is tedious.

The airport cover is very beautiful, with subway and maglev trains leading to the city, just far from the city than Hongqiao Airport. In terms of restaurants, there are more restaurants to choose from after leaving the country, and prices are generally higher.

Mega big but the processing at the gate and with a visa for departure over 1h waits for that. When I had pressed the ich button, I would have moved out separately, the one behind me had also given the rating and was also taken out right away.

The airport is large, but not everyone speaks English. In general, navigation is not very convenient and there is a lot of free space that you have to overcome on foot. In this regard, Hong Kong airport is more convenient.

After yet another disastrous experience with Pudong Airport (and China Eastern Airlines), this airport scores #1 in my "worst airports of all time" listing, closely followed by CDG. It's unbelievable that a facility that handles this volume of people is lacking simple processes that would make things much better for the unfortunate travelers who have to come here. Rude and slow staff, bad infrastructure. Avoid.

No soap in the toilet at an international airport. The staff at security looks exhausted. The food choices are few and uninspired. The stores are boring. Very few electric outlets. WiFi is censored.

There is no doubt in the vastly scattered terminals and cleanliness at this airport. Clean like anything. Facilities of sanitized n heated pot toilet seat , drinking water from filtered machine with an option of hot water. Branded showrooms to purchase any last minute gifts.

Wat was astonishing was that there was no currency exchange atleast on terminals 101 to 552
Lamguage definitely is a barrier with security n screening officers but some know little bit.
U can gey starbucks here.

When I entered the country, I was passed by a Chinese and told me that it was not the same.
It was a busy time, but the results came out early.

I wanted a transportation card to use in a taxi, but I'm far away, I would like to check my baggage many times and handle it in the subway.

It was more convenient to buy a ticket for a trial and the child bought a ticket with cash.

The magnetic defect was repaired immediately at the center.

The security check on the way home was also helpful because he spoke in Japanese.

above all large, comfortable, well-described, you have a fast train or a taxi to the city, I personally recommend the train not only because of the price but also the speed, and it is the only working maglew ..

Travelers...don t ever go there if you have the chances. The staff in this airport doesn t english, the items sold is overpriced. Also, people working there are not friendly, they treat you worst than a dog.

Trust me, avoid that airport if you can. Book your airlines tickets wisely.

While Hongqiao is the biggest airport, this airport closer to town is quite convenient and well service to fly internally. Very modern, clean and well organized. I usually use the H gate area. In this area there is a food corner with several options, but I personally looked for something simple. So I had eaten some dumplings. There a lot of working stations area. The only problem which is the same one then Hongqiao to access the free Wi-Fi you need to get a code to your phone and with foreigner ones is difficult to get it or too slow.

Big airport but not very modern. The one in Bangkok looks better, which is very similar to the check-in plan. The upper floor of international departures with a view of the slopes is excellent

Does the staff here receive any training at all? Several gave different directions and could not explain their policies. They were extremely short-tempered and unhelpful, constantly interrupting and yelling at people trying to ask questions and just being unnecessarily rude. The lines are long because the place is super busy, but lots of counters were closed so the wait was even longer. The building itself was not horrible, though everything is really spread out and the WiFi is awful. If anything, I don t recommend traveling through this airport just because the staff is horrific.

I was doing a transfer (after 12 long hours) and going to be there from 7.30am till 11.40am. I thought I d have plenty of time to look around their duty free but instead the amount of beaurocracy they had took a large chunk of that time. I couldn t believe the amount of places we had to go to before we were free to actually get through to our gate to continue with our journey. First we had to do electronic digital scan. I was then told by another official to stand in a certain very long queue (with my printout from digital scan). I finally got to the counter only to be told to go to yet another queue about 100 metres away. I get there and there are about 100 people in the queue. We waited for about an hour at least. There was only one official person processing here. Another sat in a booth appearing to do nothing. The chap then stopped processing closed his gate and went to the booth of the man sitting doing nothing. We all stood waiting. Then another man came along and began talking to the now stopped official and they talked and gesticulated all the while looking at the queue. Then the latter asked who was going to London to follow him. We were taken upstairs where yet another man came with a stamp pad and stamp and stamped our papers. Then followed to yet another counter where there appeared to be no one but in fact there were officials ducked down behind the counter. Finally a woman stood up from Virgin airlines and took our details but kept our boarding passes and told us to go to quarantine. Wasn t told why?
So another trip to somewhere else. No quarantine. Then back to the counter and finally the woman gave us our boarding passes and we were to follow the chap to where we were released and were lead past an army of security officers having a debrief. Then into yet another area where I think we were free to wander around until we boarded ...another long walk to our gate. I ve never in all the years of international travel felt so frustrated by all the officialdom. Pathetic and I felt, unnecessary. Poor show Shanghai Pudong airport!!!!!! Didn t do much for me wanting to spend my money there. Or their reputation!!!! I won t transit through here again if I help it. Staff were unhelpful and very unfriendly and rude. Didn t seem helpful at all. Thank goodness I had plenty of time to complete the security process.

It may be because the flight is too much, the airport is still expanding, the aircraft can not directly dock the empty bridge, must be connected by bus. After a few years, wait until the airport hardware construction is completed, then observe and see!
