The pool is filled with bacteria. I was stung by a bee while swimming and 48 hours later in the hospital getting IV antibiotics due to a severe bacterial infection. Hotel manager Doug Heaton was totally dismissive. Go some place else for the sake of health.

Amazing hotel with friendly staff! Very close to restaurants and local shops! This hotel is VERY CLEAN ! And super cozy! The many pools they have are resort quality as well as the hotel ! +5 stars and more! Great food as well! Not expensive and you get top quality service! Will be staying here again!
We stayed at the resort for one week In January 2015. We had never been to Arizona before and were visiting friends. We left the airport to get our rental car from Hertz, NEVER RENT FROM HERTZ ! They are rude and cheat you out of money as they work on commission. We could only hope that other individuals would not be so abrasive in Arizona. When we arrived at the resort the folks at the front desk were so pleasant and the resort itself is quite nice. A bit outdated, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. We had to move from our first room only because the young man working the desk when we arrived stuck us in a lower level room facing directly towards busy Scottsdale road, when we requested a room on the second floor /courtyard. The next morning a very polite young lady moved us to the room location we originally requested without any problems considering the resort was only 30% full. The food was pretty good, but the drinks in the lounge taste watered down, there was even a couple of times that our cocktails had no alcohol at all in them. The configuration of room location due to the numbering system is very confusing. The resort itself is about 2-3 miles from Old Town, but the resort does offer a free shuttle every hour. We took the shuttle into Old Town but when we called to get picked up at around 8p.m. we waited for an hour and no one came. Fortunately there are also some folks that drive around in golf carts that are happy to give you a lift for a small tip. The daily housekeeping was good. The HVAC in the room is quite noisy, and would constantly run, so at night we just shut it off all together.Water pressure in our room was bit of an issue, but we managed. Both pools and hot tub look very inviting and clean. Unfortunately on this trip we were unable to experience them due to our schedule. This resort is nicely located to just about everything. We took a beautiful drive up to Sedona. We also took a nice one hour drive to the Old Ghost Town and Canyon Lake at Apache Junction just past Mesa. This is a must see. DoubleTree is a nice place with pleasant staff....nightly rates are a little pricey !. That being said, we would go there again basically because of it's location but would definitely try to get a better deal on a week stay.
Adding on 9 August. Trapped here on a convention. WiFi is Neanderthal and keeps dropping. OLDER :Went for an eyeball. Truly Scottsdale, if that's your thing. EDIT for 6 July: casual restaurant is way over priced. And their idea of a cibiata roll is more of a hockey puck-- dried, stale, untoasted. $16.95 for an Italian sub sandwich was OVER THE TOP.
I really like this hotel. It has beautiful grounds and the staff is top notch. One never feels like the hotel staff are in your face. The rooms have a distinctive privacy about them. You do not have to walk by the front desk everytime you come or go. The last hotel I stayed in, the staff was super nosey to the point that I left. You have a private balcony or patio, and access right out your door to your vehicle. The food is really good and there is 24 hour room service, or you can dine in the hotel. And it is a pet friendly hotel, so my dog lives it too.
We booked a room online but when we showed up at 9pm they said they were overbooked. The friendly clerk said they always over book and if you show up late they "send you down the road". Very disappointed/ Why bother with reservations if they will not honor them.
Interesting property. Didn't have the room type we reserved. Had to use a rollaway bed for our daughter. Not many options for food on property. Not enough parking. Would not return.
Beautiful layout and great pools. Didn't love that there are no interior hallways given Phoenix heat. Our room key became inexplicably deactivated during a visit to the pool with my kids which was pretty inconvenient. And despite the beautiful design the rooms could use some updates.
Raves and a rant - the check-in was seamless, the rooms were clean and perfect and the breakfast was really tasty. HUGE shout out to our waitress Zernia (???) as she was amazing and kind and patient with our 2 year old granddaughter who's... well, she's 2. The one rant I have was that both of our rooms had mosquitoes. And they were hungry. Overall, it was a good experience as I'm taking into account that it's monsoon season and the mosquitoes are always bad this time of year.
Clean room and nice decor, with terrible food and worse service. Issues with every room service order. Front desk always seemed understaffed. Everyone was nice,nd apologetic after each mistake, but it got old quick.
A nice-sized hotel in the middle of Scottsdale which has all the amenities you could want. Located close to old Town Scottsdale at half the price of all other hotels in the area. Will be returning again
Elizabeth is one of the best bartenders I ve ever met in my life and I am ALWAYS at bars so that s saying a lot. She is so great and made our experience so awesome. Please give her more support at the bar because she would crush it even more than she already does
My husband and I chose this hotel to plan his 50th Birthday celebration staycation with a few of our friends. Maria and Bradley were a delight to work with from beginning to end. They were so accommodating and provided top notch service. They truly cared about making this a great experience from check in to check out! I would recommend this location to anyone. Thanks for making my husband s 50th a great success!
Great place location fab just a bit to hot to walk into Scottsdale but they offer a free bus travel up to 2 miles each way and they will pick you up later witch is a great sevice you just ring
Extremely disappointing. Clean rooms. Quiet. Way overpriced with minimal amenities. Shuttle service available but only travels 2 miles in any direction and does not run before 10am. Internet available for purchase. No cable TV. Pay per view movies and analog stations available. A beautiful exterior, however, extremely complicated to navigate. It took quiet a long time to find our room and haul our luggage around while looking. No assistance offered. There are "cheap" hotels in the area that have a great deal more to offer. Will not return.
Attended for a work conference. I enjoyed my time in the building and did not have any concerns. I would give it five stars but the complex has an odd feel about it. Weird mix of feeling like I'm in a hotel while also feeling any old apt complex.
Best service I ve ever had a double tree, I d highly recommend this location. They do a much better job than all the other Hilton brands pretty much, I ve had similar service at a Hilton near Disney World. Great location, close to everything, but it feels like you re far away. Great amenities, and great value I am going to stay here again.
How many different names / brands has this property associated with over the last 20-25 years? I recall staying here on my first trip to the Valley back in 1994 when it was The Wyndham. And not that they look bad, but have the rooms been updated since then? It feels like it needs a makeover...still a nice property though. Parking can be a challenge.
Fun place for families. Loved the pool, the kids spent all day playing in the water. We had a room on the second floor around the back and it was clean and roomy. Especially loved the balcony while watching sunrise and sunset.
Nice location, usual amenities with an in-house bar and restaurant for late meetings and stress relief. A few of the frustrations with the meeting space were cooling (granted it was 120 degree week) and internet access (numerous securty cert updates/DHCP releases required). Tasty food, friendly staff, will definitely be back!
Booked a staycation for my daughters and I. We left the pool 3 separate times due to groups of people smoking. We woke up early to go to the pool before the smoking started and it was filthy. Cigarette butts, pizza boxes, soda bottles, tampons, dirty cups, dirty towels, melted popsicles, etc. looked like the regiments of a frat party. Very disappointing. I contacted the front desk and someone came to bring clean towels. 2 hours later another maintenance person came and cleaned up about half the mess. They did not wipe down anything. If you are looking for a hotel going the extra mile for sanitization during Covid, this is not your place.
I worked 2 1/2 days in housekeeping a temp Was only trained 6 hrs my first day. The next day 1/2 I was not treated equal as to the other temps..housekeeping staff are rude and no help when I had questions..
Great Hilton property. Maria at the front desk was amazing! Awesome that the pool is open until midnight, but would be better if there was a hot tub at both pools. Decent happy hour in the bar 5-7p. Solid breakfast included for HHonors elites. Good value for the price and close to Fashion Square and downtown Scottsdale.
Stayed here for a work conference, felt the location was good just confusing at times to make sure it was the right location. Unique layout for the hotel, everything is fairly spread out, but nice. Enjoyed our stay here
As noted by many, in desperate need of a remodel. Grounds were well kept and the pools more than adequate. It served our needs for sun and pool time. There was a friendly cockroach in our room the last night but it didn't bother us.
Our toilet clogged up 4 separate times in 2 days. The maintenance team eventually found a chopstick in there that a previous guest had so kindly left behind. The maintenance team was fast and friendly (more so than other hotels I have stayed at), however, the customer care gentleman named Michael is not living out his calling in life. I have over a decade of corporate hospitality experience by the way. I can tell him that speaking in his best robot, radio announcer voice is not customer service. In response to the situation, he asked "what would you like me to do about it?" Well Sherlock, how about fixing the situation? His actual solution was for me to walk 5 minutes down to the pool bathrooms each time my wife or I had to use the restroom and he said he wouldn't have any solution for me for 6 hours. The way he ended the call was to tell me to have a fantastic day. I hope someone reads this and reviews the recorded call. This is a 4 star resort? I wish we hadn't chosen this property for our trip to Scottsdale.
Beautiful facility, good amenities, wonderful staff and very good food in hotel restaurant. Rooms, particularly bathrooms, could use an upgrade to meet 4 star standards.
This is a really nice hotel. It was my first time staying at a doubletree and this was the one to be at.
Their breakfast area was really nice with a big water fountain. Their buffet breakfast was more than adequate. They had lots of various fresh fruit (and delicious!) along with cooked items such as eggs, bacon, etc. They also had cereal and other items available for the buffet.
The room was absolutely enormous and felt almost cabinish with the wood beams (if I remember correctly).
P.S. I've traveled a lot since my stay here back in 2012...and this is still the most memorable DoubleTree I've stayed at.
A reasonable hotel, comfortable spacious rooms, all on two floors, and spread around pools and water features. Good conference facilities, but the WiFi was almost unusable. Bar prices were pretty steep, food was a little inconsistent. Location means taxi or shuttle to any local shops or restaurants, or a lengthy walk in the Arizona heat. It probably wouldn't be my first choice, but there are not many places in Scottsdale that can accommodate large conference groups.
