Doubletree Suites Review

So far been checked in for 6 hours and I have been told by maintenance that I cannot turn down the AC or turn on certain channels on the the TV even though they are listed. Maintenance told me it is either heat or AC even though when you turn up the temperature on the AC it does not turn the AC off. I went to the front desk and Stacie E. (correct spelling) was not vey helpful other than saying I can check out at no cost. It is 10 pm at night and I have been traveling all day so to hear that I can check out was not I needed wanted to hear. This is a large HIlton property and to hear my option is to check out is unacceptable. This tells me this is a problem with the facility not the room. Look elsewhere. I am here for a conference but I would not stay here in the future.

Let me start by saying that upon booking this hotel I based my intuition off reviews and off of pictures and amenities. Upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted by a gentleman that is originally from Temecula and we got to talking and he explained to us that since we came in on a Sunday that the restaurants would not be open until Monday. He then proceeded to say let me put you near pool access so that when you walk out your room the pool's right there. So needless to say we were getting excited and come Monday morning We were ecstatic to go downstairs to the lobby for breakfast and the only thing that was open was the marketplace and it consisted of Starbucks and some miscellaneous items like apples and oranges and things of that nature. So we were a little apprehensive and upset we thought that there was a place to actually sit down and eat in the hotel. Needless to say we got Starbucks and a muffin and was looking forward to later on in the day to sit at one of the many bars they have outside in addition to going to dinner at one of the restaurants. Well that was a complete let down because when we went mid-afternoon to one of the numerous bars they have outside they were all closed. And now we're coming into dinner time on Monday and there's no restaurants open in the complex. So we proceed to go down to the front desk and we ask the guest service individual that's standing at the desk how come none of the restaurants are open when we were told upon check-in that they would be open and he stated that somebody misinformed you none of our restaurants are open at this time The only ones that are open are the marketplace and that's a grab and go. So we were very discouraged very upset because we were led to believe that there was on-site restaurants. Needless to say come Tuesday when we woke up we were covered in bites from head to toe. I proceeded to contact the front desk and I explained to them that they either have bed bugs or there is some type of insect that's not visible to the eye that's biting us while we're sleeping in bed.The front desk individual was so rude and non-apologetic and the only thing he said was I can send somebody up to your room to check to see if there's anything in the bed. So of course they sent up maintenance, maintenance rip the entire bed apart from top to bottom and then they informed me that they were going to have to call Eco Laband that by law we are required to get a report that will be mailed to us as to what their findings are. So here we are sitting in our room Tuesday night with complete misery of bites up and down our legs and there were times that we didn't even want to go into the bed. however let me back up maintenance had switched rooms and gave us a new room and so now we're in a new room yet even still miserable because of more bites that are coming. In addition to the insect bite issue the property is not very well maintained It has a tremendous amount of leaves everywhere We had a monsoon on Monday night which caused a humongous tree branch to fall down and block our staircase down to the parking lot and I informed the front desk and they said okay we'll get maintenance out there however the next day the tree branch was still in front of our staircase which is a complete hazard. Both pools on the property Tuesday afternoon were covered in leaves and bugs among other things that had been brought in by the monsoon and they failed to clean it and left it until Wednesday. So all in all we had received numerous conflicting reports on the opening of the restaurants from different individuals who work at the Doubletree some said they were open some said they were closed other people said that the marketplace would be open until 2:00 when in fact it closed at 11:00. It's very discouraging booking online looking at all the pictures the views the amenities the reviews and coming to a place where I wouldn't bring my dog. As for the DoubleTree I think their reputation has gone downhill!

Hotel is under renovation. People are friendly but hands are tied. Requested an upgrade being a Hilton honors member. They said because of renovation their are no upgrades available. We paid almost 800 for 3 nights in off season and were put in an old and outdated room. The Tv has 40 channels no hbo no movies for rent. I should of stayed home. My wife and I were just trying to escape from our five kids for a few days. Very disappointing!!!!!!

Beautiful place. Very nice large rooms. Large gym, two great pools. It s a large property.
PROS: Quality upscale hotel, price, rooms, amenities, pools, great staff, excellent AC, patios, beautiful landscaping and flowers everywhere, hot water

CONS: Rock hard beds, it is like a maze- difficult to find your way around, rooms are far from front desk, pool bar closes early at 6 or sometimes at 11am

Need more handicap parking. Other than that its a nice hotel.

Magnificent design of the resort. Parking is easy as can be. Quiet, convient part of Scottsdale. Amazing, clean, beautiful, resort. Wonderful fitness center. Pool isn t crowded at all and the staff (specifically Roberto) at the pool were so kind. The towels are always replenished and clean. Staff works so hard to make the best experience for guests. Fast, reliable service to the room. After tons of research, this hotel is 5 star and I wouldn t stay anywhere else. Thank you doubletree!

Good stay for business or pleasure. Rooms could use a little updating, but the location is great, right near Old Town and lots of great restaurants.

The DoubleTree staff are friendly and inviting, yet the resort is a hopeless maze of outdated buildings accompanied by delightful health and recreation options.

I mean the maze part literally, as finding your room can be a serious chore and may be hundreds of steps from check in desk to accommodation. The 2-story "flat" layout uses room blocks of zigzag paths and room sets. I had to re-check my path to my room a few times finding it the first time, and then move my car to avoid thousands of steps back to it.

The rooms are a bit tired and frankly dim, yet they are mostly comfortable and spacious, even by American measurements, with a single king room offering a bed, couch, armchair, desk, and space to move around.

The "resort" experience can definitely be had for a staycation, but this property is more engineered for large groups to hold conferences, weddings, or other shared events that need voluminous space and room availability.

We rented a Cabana at the pool 7/7/18 (did not rent a room). The pool and surrounding area was perfect in size and not too crowded at all. The service for the Cabana (drinks and snacks, included) was fantastic.

Needs updating a total renovation it's old the rooms are very dated

Super cute rooms! 4 star rating due to the dim lighting in the room for makeup application. I had to step outside!

I stayed here for a conference and loved it! The room was wonderful, the landscaping and grounds are so beautiful and we'll kept. Service has been top notch, as has the food at the restaurant. The unique layout of the grounds and rooms was probably my favorite part. I will definitely love to come back!

The hotel was pretty; however, several other people in my group had items stolen and saw cockroaches.

Clean room. Friendly staff. Delicious food. Great vibe. The stay was very relaxing and enjyijable. Will definitely recommend to friend and family. I will definitely stay here again. This is a family friendly place. Great place to host many events like wedding, birthday.

Upon arrival to this stunning resort we were greeted by a very professional and polite man named Micheal. While maintaining an appropriate level of formality, he was approachable and easily answered all of our questions. After listening to the normal amount of small talk we made while he secured our accommodations he set us up with the perfect room overlooking the fountains. Michael made our stay easy, fun, and memorable. One of the best service industry professionals we've come across on our travels so far, we couldn't be more impressed or thankful to him for really making the resort work for all of our needs. Michael, you're fantastic at your job! Thank you!

Decent hotel. All doors face outside which we didn't know. Wish our room had a bath instead of just a shower

Interesting exterior. Rooms are good size. A little bit outdated. Two good size pools with a nice center courtyard. Staff is very nice.

We booked our reservation on-line as we had stayed at this particular Doubletree before and the rooms are fine. We specifically requested a non-smoking room. We walked into our room and could barely breath the smoke had permeated everything in the room. As it was late and we were tired from the drive from Tucson, we stayed in the room. The next morning when my husband went to check out, he told the front desk that we had requested a non-smoking room, and they replied it was non-smoking. When he pursued it, they admitted that they had taken a smoking room and made it non-smoking that night as they were sold out. This is inexcusable! We were very disappointed that Doubletree would do this. They gave us another 'free' night, but would not refund our money. Bad business!

Nice property. I attend functions at this resort typically twice a year. The rooms have a rustic feel and the grounds are beautiful.

Rooms were very clean and the bed was so comfortable.

Customer Service for both Check-In & Check-Out was splendid and top notch. The room was seriously seriously just BEAUTIFUL, HOMEY, LUXURIOUS and SPACIOUS. This room looked more like a studio. Both pools were big, the cabanas were just the perfect touch and the grassy space was kept immaculately well; kids had their own splash pool and a jacuzzi as well. I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND your stay here.

Not to mention, it is located right in the middle of Scottsdale's Entertainment strip.

On Saturday July 7th, on a scorching day we decided to drive across the valley and rent a cabana. Nothing like sipping on Frozen Cojitos while sitting in the pool watching a world cup game!

Nice resort not far from Old Scottsdale. Spread out buildings with outdoor room entry. Pretty nice accommodations overall.

This resort has awesome amenities from delicious food in the restaurant to massage services poolside. Our room was very comfortable and the mountain views made our private patio a serene and shady retreat for morning coffee from the Starbucks Coffee onsite. Every employee was thoughtful and helpful with all information and resources we could ask for. We'll return again next year!

The hotel layout is somewhat confusing as regards the event areas and the wifi is challenging to sign into without consistency across the property. But the areas themselves were quite nice.

Amazing service and hospitality. So Clean as well. Had an amazing time here. Between the pools and the great friends I made, it was a wonderful experience the whole time I was there. This is a great hotel. Food drink and good people all around.

Clean and quiet. Pools look nice. Grounds kept well. Parking is tight with large events, 300+ people.

Lovely resort hotel, beautiful pool and the staff was excellent.

Michael was very accommodating and friendly at the front desk during our entire stay. And servers Yesenia and Rodica were excellent, friendly, and went way beyond expectations.

Great location very close to fashion valley Mall. Many restaurants nearby. Rooms are a bit dated but comfortable. Nicey updated pool area with cabanas. Breakfast is a buffet but still OK.

Rooms are nice and clean. You can tell it is an older peoperty, but still well kept.

We were there for a company Christmas party. The room was nice, food was good, and the staff was on top of everything.

Place is beautiful and not as expensive as you would think by the look of the place.

The rooms here have some neat touches. The on site restaurants have some surprisingly good offerings, and there are lots of other options within walking distance.

Nice place but it has its issues. There's a nice gym, pool, basketball court, tennis court, and a sauna. Only issues I had was the ax didn't work and we moved to a new room and the door was broken.

Although the pools, the property, conference rooms are very nice the rooms are super disgusting. There is unknown substance all over the walls and nightstand. They need to update this place and hire people who know how to clean. Open the drapes after people have stayed and see where the filrh is. The people who stay at your resort are making your paychecks possible. I have never stayed at a dirty Doubletree until now. So disappointing. We are here for ten days in between houses and it is very hard to relax and feel comfortable.

This is one of the most confusing hotels I've ever seen. You can seriously get lost going to and fro the lobby. A Zelda-like labryrinth of little two story castle-like structures that all look the same and that oddly numbered in no sensiscal fashion. So once you eventually find your room after hours of looking you'll probably want to stay there to avoid getting lost again, and if that's the case then you're lucky since the rooms are super nice in that DoubleTree kind of way, and the room service slash restaurant is aces too.

Very nice meetings-oriented resort in Scottsdale. Visited during heat wave and it wasn't a problem. Misters kept bar and dining areas near pool nice and cool. Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, laid-back atmosphere. One quibble: a lot of hotel information invites to you call its "Careline" for any needs. But in only one place -- an obscure location on the hotel map you get at checkin -- did it display the actual phone number extension.

I was really impressed by the staff at the hotel. Very very accommodating.

Been visiting this place for many years. I usually stay here becsuse i hike cholla, and very close to downtown Scottsdale.
They did major remodel of pool and lobby areas. They also added a putting green.
Looks very nice. The breakfast was also better. Very nice outdoor eating area.

Beautiful place. Epic food. Like heaven on earth. Other reviews say the rooms are outdated but I think they are lovely and fun. I love balconies.

I came with a 500 piece marching band. Pool was warm and hot tub was my favorite.

*some people's laptops came up missing. And a few wallets.
We travel all of the time and never had anything come up missing

As for me, I had the perfect trip

The room was in great condition, plenty of space for 5 guys at a Bachelor Party. All the amenities you could hope for. We used it as an Air B&B, was super affordable when we split it all up. Would recommend it to anyone!

Very nice I liked this resort alot. The only thing though it's just hot in this area. Bring sunscreen, water and hat the sun is brutal. The sitting areas were cute and nice but didn't have misters or a fan or anything, that way you could enjoy sitting outside so don't sit outside during the day unless you're swimming. At night time it was okay but it was still very hot.

Easy check-in. Quiet, quality rooms. Nice amenities. Pretty property. Simple to find location near many restaurants and stores.

It was a great experience at the Double Tree! First time in AZ for my cosmetic procedure and had a great accommodating stay.

Excellent hotel in the heart of Scottsdale. Great shopping and mountain biking is within a mile from the hotel.

Centrally located in Scottsdale, close to a lot of activities that we were able to enjoy during our free time. Nice rooms, limited bar menu, would stay here again

Revised to 4 stars. One day the restaurant closed its lovely outdoor seating to guests so that the conference on property could host a banquet at 3 pm. Lets imagine you're staying only one night on property and you wanted to enjoy the beautiful grounds while you sip on a coffee that morning... you couldnt have. Hopefully this doesnt happen too often for the guests' sake.

Had a lovely room with a balcony, the fitness room was excellent, greeted with cookis and water. Went for a Poisoned Pen event and all was handled efficiently. The hotel is in a vewry convenient location.

The whole staff from check maid and the restaurant staff are very friendly and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a get away

Check in was quick and easy. The room decor was very nice and clean. The bed was terrible. My husband and I had a king bed and it was like sleeping on plywood. We got maybe 2 hours of sleep total. Very disappointed. Would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone we know.

An excellent hotel Super beautiful and also not so expensive for everything it offers. The breakfast is great and its facilities are magnificent.
