Very good location, walking distance from many restaurants and touristic points. Fair price and good service.
Very good location, walking distance from many restaurants and touristic points. Fair price and good service.
Too expensive, small room, bathtub clogged, pedestal fan for ac, bathroom tiny, dry wall with water damage, never staying again. Nice lobby.
Nice clean room with a comfy bed. Good location. The clerk at check in was rude and did not provide good service at all, but the rest of the staff were great .
Excellent 4-star hotel. Clean, spacious, great location, very central, also nice view from the room. If you book well in advance, you can find some rooms with great prices. Recommended
My suite was excellent, I stayed at room 1904. I felt like a queen spacious, clean and just relaxing. Upon my entry at the double tree I was warmly greeted, when checking in Karen was really nice and helpful. Throughout my two nights stay, at the restaurant Marl was really nice to me she helped me out was very pleasant and welcoming, my server James was excellent he was of maturity, subtle, very kind and served and helped me out well. He endured that I was good not to mention he was polite. Mario was excellent, he assisted me well helped me out with my baggage and was very polite. When I was leaving Janice was very nice polite and gave you a warm goodbye. Because of these lovely staff my day at the Hilton was a great vacation. Thank you guys for assisting my mom and I . P.S. My mom did an eye surgery.
Great location only a few blocks from Grand Central Station. Subway stop right at the corner. Great service.
Great location! We chose a double twin room. Very spacious and perfect for our needs.
Good location. Acceptable by New York City standards.
Large hotel Very good situation on Lexington Avenue. At the door there is a subway entrance. Central Station is nearby, 15 minutes walk. Central park, the Empire State Building and several museums, also nearby in a city where transportation is not cheap. As for the rooms, clean. The furniture could be updated somewhat. The staff, attentive and ready to answer any questions. What about the free wifi, lie, but anyway, as in all Hilton that I visited. Let's see when they change this.
This is great location but it should be a 3 star hotel not 5 star. Below is the view from the 16th floor. The room is the exact size as a queens room but with less space as it has 2 beds
The usual NYC hotel experience. Tiny rooms, old, and outdated.
A neat hotel located in a central location right next to the metro entrance. Rooms are clean and fully equipped. The air conditioning works well and the water pressure is powerful. Staff is friendly. The only downside is that you have to pay for Wi-Fi and to leave your bags in the luggage room. Despite that, this hotel is definitely recommended for Manhattan.
Rooms are nice, and great location. Reason for the three stars was for the no breakfast or coffee in the lobby.
Trust me on this and dont stay in this hotel. The front desk will treat you bad and you will regret the minute you walked in. They will charge you for every single thing including luggage storage and room service. In addition to that, taxes are charged for every single night and not for the whole stay and they refuse to take cash. One last thing, they blocked $250 from my credit card 5 days ago and I still didnt get them back. Unprofessional, Old & Crowded
Positive:
- Very friendly and helpful staff
- Great atmosphere at the bar
- See central location with direct underground station
Negative:
- Extremely long waiting times for the elevator (up to 30 minutes)
- No free WiFi in the room (as a Hilton ?!)
- Unfortunately, the room was very dark and the air conditioning could not be regulated.
On the whole, however, a good, central hotel for an acceptable price / performance ratio!
Great location, felt very welcome by staff, was very clean and tidy and I would definitely go back. Was very good value for money also.
Rooms were a bit underwhelming and the paint needed some work done to it, but it was still a decent stay
Would have given 5 stars if my window on the 14th floor was clean
Excellent location, average accommodations at best. Pretty dated rooms, definitely could use a facelift. Food was good, just overpriced for breakfast.
Good value for money. Friendly staff and great location.
Great location, rooms do not have tea/coffee facilities. Rooms are nice, some big rooms and others small rooms and no fridge in the rooms.
Very comfortable hotel in an area where everything is accessible and great staff in charge
Poor communication
Ad said free wi fi but didn't tell me it was only in lobby even though I spent $250 per night for 3 nights
Gave my delta sky miles number at check in but it wasn't on my receipt at check out.
They said they couldn't help me and to call a manager during the day
After a number of calls they said they couldn't give me my miles because I wasn't a hilton something or other
They never made it right. They don't care. So many people to choose from. I'm just one person.
Nice room on 12th floor, but I wouldn't stay there again on my next trip.
Average place. Rather scruffy and not 4-star in appearance. Disappointing service - after I checked out and was several blocks away I realized I left some things in my room. I called the hotel and asked them to get the items and hold them for me to pick up when I returned four hours later. The woman on the phone promised me she would. When I came back this hadn't been done and the staff didn't seem to know what to do. They asked me to wait a half hour - for the maids shift to end. But I had a train to catch and couldn't stay. I never received a follow up survey, and there's no information on the property's web site for how to register a complaint. So I'm putting it here.
It's a fine hotel. Not exactly what I would have expected of a Double Tree. It looks sort of like one. But is also built like a 60s hotel. And it's service isn't quite DoubleTree standard. Not bad... But more of a Garden Inn experience
Not a great experience. Lines for check in were very long, but understandable due to it being around the holidays. The real issues were room based. The room was small but again I'm fine with that, it's a place to sleep, however we did very little sleeping. The room was extremely hot and stuffy and there were no fans or ability to turn on any air. The walls were also paper thin and you could hear every conversation in the hallway, and things happeneing in other rooms crystal clear even with the tv on.... Not great. We also had to specifically request additional towels and house keeping after the third day. My last grievance with this hotel is that WiFi is not free. They charge an additional $15.00 a day for the use of their WiFi. Overall not a great experience.
Hotel is ok, staff not over friendly, decor in rooms a bit tired. Bar prices expensive and you have to pay for wi-fi in the room but not in the lobby!
Our stay was great! The bed was comfortable and the room clean. The Bathroom would benefit from a paint job. Great location in midtown!
So far service has been good. The hotel is clean and fixtures are updated and modern.
we had nine nights here and enjoyed our stay staff were friendly. some parts of the hotel need a bit of TLC but our room was clean and beds were comfy. the location was good we got good at navagating the subway and taxis wasn't too much on the evening we were too tired. There was an urban space across the street which had reasonable priced good food we found buying one meal was enough for both of us. a Duane Reade across another street for drinks and snacks, fresh co next day do quick, fresh healthy breakfast and of course the hard to find coffee shop Starbucks if you venture a little further there is a Dunkin donuts but also some non chain places. the Chrysler Building is also near by so good view. Not a fantasic view from our room but not terrible and there was very little street noise.
Staff was very nice. My room was in need of some wall spackling and the tiny bathroom could have used an update or a fresh caulking.
Great location. Nice hotel. Central AC would be a little better as fan was kind of loud other than that everything was fantastic.
I had genuine concerns about the cleanliness and safety of my room. I called the front desk on 4 occasions and no one picked up. I went down to the front desk and was treated as an inconvenience. No eye contact was made, no apologies given. On checkout I asked to speak to a manager and was told none were available. I contacted Hilton regarding my concerns and they were very apologetic and said I would hear from someone from this hotel within 48 hours.
It has been 2 weeks and it is clear that this hotel is not in any way concerned with retaining customers. So I will remain a loyal Hilton customer but I will never stay in this hotel again, nor can I in good conscience recommend it to anyone else.
Hotel needs a full renovation or maintenance as it is pretty busy at all times. Location is no so great as it is close to a police station and some time gets pretty noise (but it is NYC, right?). Beds could be better, breakfast is the exact same menu every single day. Staff not really the most friendly.
No free wifi. Noisy. Few heating options. They charge you a deposit of $ 100
To be a Hilton I expected better, sinks in the bathroom crooked ... very friendly reception and available ....
Who doesn't love free cookies? The rooms where nice, and the location can't be beat.
The rooms are awesome. Big enough for just a night sleep with my friend. Toiletries were short though eventhough he booked for 2 it seems the toiletries were only good for one prior to us coming in.
The room was ok. The service was ok. The drinks were ok. That housekeeping lady who is Viet and smiled a lot in the hall was the best
Nice hotel, but they were not able to give us adjoining rooms. And the doors between adjoining rooms were not particularly soundproof.
Perfectly located central hub for my NYC visit. Very friendly reception staff, usual warm cookie greeting (novel idea), clean functional room. My room was upgraded to a King City View room, no faults to state. Nothing throughout the stay has warranted a five star review.
The hotel would undoubtedly need modernization, especially in bathrooms and electrical installations, which are often obsolete and poorly maintained (but both of these aspects are quite common in hotels in the United States).
However the location is really strategic and enviable, both for the proximity of two important metro stations and for the proximity of many points of interest, all to visit. In midtown, it allows you to move easily both north and downtown, quickly and without wasting time.
Free Wifi only available in the lobby at the entrance.
BAD EMPLOYEE
When I reserved this room they told me there was parking for 56$ and that I could take my car at 10am however after the valet took my car I was walking away an employee came over and told me I would be charged an additional 56$ if I didn t take the car by 7am.
Along with this the room had trash in the closet and fries on the floor in the main room. I already planned to park offsite for cheaper but the receptionist assured me it would be ok to leave at 10. Nobody here seemed to care and they couldn t do anything about it I paid twice what I was supposed to because of the receptionist lying.
Clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, within walking distance to Rockefeller Center and 5th Ave. Also has a metro stop right outside its door.
Good hotel, comfortable and clean. Too bad the lack of Wi-Fi and breakfast
This hotel was just perfect for us! Since we checked in early, the friendly host Vicki was able to upsize our room for no extra cost. We love the location, making it easy to access many sights all over nyc. Would highly recommend!
Clean and tidy; good location / rooms small; Wi-Fi utter ripoff.
room was freezing w no heat??? for a 15 minute phone call to long island they charged me $314!!!!! how is it possible to charge $20 per minute!!! u need to check your bill upon leaving to see what charges they try to SCAM off of you.
Double Tree by Hilton offers best spacious rooms, lively lobby, Gym and nice staff
Went for breakfast with a friend who was staying at the hotel, and it was very good. The scrambled eggs at the buffet were cooked just right.
Great location,so close and walking distance to Rockefeller center ( 5 minutes walk). Really pleasant and clean rooms. The staff are nice, friendly, and helpful. Check-in will take quite some time. If you are planning to check in around 3 pm, be ready to wait 20-30 minutes. The only problem, I could mention it s the noise of the hallway during the daytime by cleaning staff. It would be better, if they could improve this problem till the hotel guests can rest during the daytime.
Stayed with two teenagers. Awesome location, subway station, restaurants (2nd Ave) as well as Rockefeller Center and 5th Ave in walking distance. Service was excellent, free WLAN for guests in lobby. Will stay again when in NYC.
Really disappointing experience at this hotel. I thought Doubletree was a brand I could trust. The first room we checked into had some kind of gross material in the bathtub. Not ideal, but things happen. I went to the front desk to ask for a new room, and they did give me one, which is why I gave this review a second star (great location earned the first star). The new room had multiple issues: the shower did not drain correctly, the carpet was old and torn up, the AC wouldn't cool the room below 71 while we were in it, etc. When we asked the front desk to check out our AC, no call was entered. We followed up the next day and the front desk confirmed that nothing had been done by the staff the previous day, so they called maintenance. Maintenance came up and said "some people like it this temperature" and brought us a box fan. A. BOX. FAN. By the way - this was not during a heat wave. One night during our stay, the low was 65, and we still couldn't get the temperature below 71. I suspect they are limiting the thermostats to save a little money. Well. . . I hope they got enough out of me during my stay, because I won't be going back to a Doubletree anytime soon.
On the plus side, this is right next to a 6 train station, which connects to many other major lines for easy access to anywhere in town.
Hotel au Top .Personnel very attentive I will certainly return for my next stay! I thank Mariama and Ronil.
Very clean staff was over the top the showers were awesome beds were comfy I will come back great location 15 min walk to all places
It is a very nice hotel, and the people who work here are very friendly.
Down in the lobby waiting for two non- feather pillows for over 40 min now. The lady at the desk says oh he is still down here oops. Not like I asked for something special. Oh and people have been waiting to check in just as long just want to sleep
Good hotel, excellent location. Free Wifi only in the lobby.
Very tiny room, no coffee available in room. AC wasn't working. But other then that, everything was fine
Had catered dinner with our band after the Macy's parade. It was good, plenty of traditional Thanksgiving dishes
The hotel is a very long box of corridors. Signage is bad which means you could be walking for 10-15 minutes to find your room. Otherwise rooms are clean and spacious. Indoor pool is nice.
