This property disappoints and does not the Hilton experience (and i say this as a very frequent Hilton traveler). The behavior of the check in person, Taryn can be, to be very kind, brusque ans short. Then they need a dollar per luggage to store luggages, which seemed like a nickle and dime move. Lastly, when I called the operator about the wifi not working, she was extremely rude and raised her voice since she seemed to be getting annoyed to help me connect to the wifi (a pretty basic expectation as a HHonors member). Do not recommend staying here.

Prominently Located on Lexington, this place is well maintained. The service is great and the breakfast is amazing. You can leave your luggage before or after checking out for only a dollar which I found extremely helpful.

I have been here for almost two days and the only people who smiled at me were the ladies cleaning my room. The guest reception were borderline rude. The room was clean. However, the bed uncomfortable and the bathroom looks worst than the ones at roadside motels. Save your money and go elsewhere.

We liked the hotel very much. The room was clean and modern. Wi-Fi was included with us. Staff was very nice. We had a nice stay at the DoubleTee by Hilton. Everything was within walking distance. Subway was but right nearby. Will come back here next time. Have fun in New York.

Location Location Location at a reasonable price. 2 blocks to subway line to airport. Walk to Time square and Theatres. Plenty of cafes and restaurants within 2 blocks. Nice room with AC.

I wouldn t rave about this hotel. Handy for being in midtown east near offices etc, however it wasn t super clean and the lobby isn t nearly big enough as it s always packed full of people and suitcases. Staff were mostly friendly and the cookie on check in was a welcome arrival snack. A lot of airline staff seem to stay there and navigating your way through the lobby from the elevators which are at the back of the hotel, furthest from the entrance is a daily occurrence.

Quiet room but souless hotel with a windowless cupboard for a business centre and hectic lobby bar feels like a waiting room. My taxi to airport booked thru hotel failed to show. Good central location though.

THEY ARE FOURTH! HEAVY SERVICE, ESPECIALLY AT THE FRONT DESK. THEY RECEIVED SHIPPING OF PURCHASES MADE AND AFTER I CONSULTED IF THEY HAD ARRIVED, THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY DID NOT REFUSE TO DELIVER THEM. WHEN I TRY TO COMMUNICATE BY PHONE CUT ME. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT FOR NOTHING. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS NEFASTA ATTENTION HOTEL.

Where do I start!? I stayed here overnight as we were flying International the next day. Check in was pleasant and the lobby was pretty, an illusion of what was to come. Our room was basic, with terrible finishings. There were flying bugs, and ones sitting on the bed - they were small but still very disturbing. I called and asked for a change of room but I got the impression that they thought I "planted" the bugs. They sent a personnel to inspect the room then eventually calling and letting us know that they'll change our room. We waited for 30mins and still no contact. My daughter was getting hungry as it was 11pm at night. I took her across the street, came back and spoke with the receptionist who was just lovely and she gave us our new room keys. The second room was ok and no bugs so we slept fine. I won't say that I don't reccomend this hotel but either someone slipped up on their job or they have these run-down rooms that they just throw people in, in hopes that no-one complains.

I have Diamond status with Hilton HHonors program, that basically means I stay in hotels like nonstop throughout the year and I've picked Hilton as my go-to brand. This Doubletree is by far the worst of any Hilton-branded hotel I have ever stayed in. Never have I ever stayed somewhere for $300/night where they just turn the air conditioning off for the whole building IN THE SUMMER, and then bring you a $10 plastic fan and tell you to open the window. Yep, that's right, they turned it OFF to save on electricity costs, it wasn't broken. The rooms are laughably small as well and I've never seen a place that literally had Double beds instead of Queens. This is just awful, and you think that even with a room being small, they'd at least make it comfortable. This place has not been fixed up properly in at least 15 years. DO NOT stay here, plenty of other options!!!

Hot baked cookies! Have you had the cookies here at check-in? They are just amazing. On my last visit we lied every night to the girl at the front desk and told her they were out of cookies when we checked in. It was probably the most delicious lie I ever told.

We stayed at this location because it was right next door to our offices we were visiting. It was great to be so close to work and not have to fight for a taxi at the end of the day.

We had breakfast in the hotel one morning but it wasn't really good. It cost way too much money for what we got. I talked my co-worker into going next door to the Cafe Metro, it was really good and you got your money's worth of food. We ended up eating there every morning.

The rooms are nice. There was free wifi in the bar/lobby area, which was great. I would stay here again based on how close it was to work.

Excellent location, access to two different subways just about 50 feet from hotel. Very convenient. All staff was pleasant and rooms were clean and spacious. There are restaurants right next to the hotel and across the street, the one next to the hotel being a healthy option. There is also a Walgreens across the street in case you need/forgot something. Would definitely stay again.

*For those who need somewhere to put their bags while the explore around town after check out, they have convenient bag storage for only $4 a piece.

Its nice and clean I just had one issue the cleaning lady didn't knock before entering my room.. And that's something I really HATE..... YOU don't know if I was in the nude or even having sex so next time please be professional... just don't assume that there's no in the room.. Learn how to knock first and wait for answer. . under then that the rooms are nice and clean

Pro: its situated quite near to Time Square, so you can literally walk there. It's also very close to Grand Central station and Empire state building.
Con: The room is pretty much average as compared to the price they charge.

Anyways, location is the main thing here.

Great location, subway very close, Walking distance to Times Square. Rooms are a little small and gets warm. Very clean. Will return.

Old building, dark, small rooms, the whole place looks and feels cramped. Good location for sure. I always mention the service and personnel and this time should not me an exception, they were all great, front desk and everybody else...I had stayed in NYC many times this hotel is not one I would choose again, I felt so confined.

1/1/2019, woke up to get breakfast. $24 per person. Breakfast is not complimentary. I spoke to the manager Nicole to inform her that we re not pleased with our stay since the whole hotel smells marijuana so a breakfast is a basic thing to have. I told her that I would leave this place s review on google and yelp, she replied I m not gonna offer you a complimentary breakfast since you re threatening us .

Here I am leaving a truthful review about this horrible place that smells marijuana and have an awful customer service!

Positive: The location for the hotel is great if you want to be in Midtown. It's close to St. Patrick's, a short walk to 5th Ave and many more. The front desk was friendly or accommodating at check in. The room was a good size for a New York Hotel. They were accommodating to have access to our bags while in storage to get things out as needed. Due to an incorrect booking we needed a double bed, they had us in a king. They did supply a fold out bed and brought that to the room very quick. The bed was comfortable for a fold out and they did not add an extra charge.

Negatives: They did not have our room ready for an early check in and had to pay $2 per bag to store out luggage. The lobby bar was NOT accommodating on getting flutes to take to our room to drink champagne we purchased outside. The room had severe pealing painting on the bathroom door, walls and baseboard. To the point where it should be unsafe especially if you have small children. The room looked old and not in good condition. I felt as though I was at a Motel 8 not a typical Double Tree Hotel. We did not have face towels in the room and asked for some to be brought up. We only stayed one night and did not receive them. The bathroom was very, very outdated and small. The water pressure was slow and the tub did not have proper drainage. Therefore, we stood in a dirty walk to take a shower. This was not fun when we had four people taking a shower. I am a rewards member and this was not a hotel up to par with the Hilton name for a Double Tree.

The hotel is located right near Metro train locations. Not too far from the shopping Avenues of Madison, Park, and 5th. The rooms are very nice. The only downside is there is no pool here.

The room was next to the garage, so we kept hearing the garage door open and close every two minutes. Very loud, and annoying. They eventually moved us to another room, but we had to wait in the hall for 15 min before they brought the new key. All that for $300/night???

Honors member here...The room is pretty horrible. First thing we noticed was a chunk of torn carpet right in front of the vanity that my daughter kept catching her foot on. The carpet looks like a kindergartner cut and installed it. Wall paper bubbling everywhere likely due to no venting in the tiny bathroom. The bath drain did not drain. We all had to stand in water to shower and at one point something clunked and the water pressure cut in half. Surprised and disappointed Hilton would put their name on this property.

Room is fine if you go for business or plan to visit lots of places and use this only for sleeping, walking distance to important business centres, good amount of restaurants, shopping and sightseeing. My roomed smell funny but I always arrived too tired to argue for a room change. Personnel is super friendly, warning food at bar is HUGE.

Nice hotel with nice modern rooms and great water pressure. Location is great. Easy to get to Central Park or Broadway without having to deal with the crowds. Staff is very nice and helpful.

It's okay. The rooms air conditioner sucks and it has been updated but all of the updates are worn off. Paint chipped carpet coming up and frayed. The room itself feels clean. The staff is nice and accommodating.

Well located near Central Park and Empire State Building. Short walk to Avenue of Americas, with a lot of shops on. Fresh and Co, Juice Press, Whole Foods, and Chipotle all nearby, so plenty of food options. Rooms basic, but with everything you need, as you won't spend much time in your room with so much to see in NYC!

The worst hotel in NY !!

The worst hotel in NY !!
We stayed for 16 days in here but the service (Especially housekeepers problems) was so bad!!

1) We checked in two people but they gave us ONLY one cookie. ( When we visited same "DoubleTree" hotels in Japan, we took two cookies)

2) Receptionist's unkindness (Black sevicer)
& Housekeeper's faithless attitude,
qualification.
We have the proof photos. They didn't their jobs.
No toilet tissue, facial tissue, some trashs still were in our room. So we called several times.

Anyway!! the problem of the worst was that they touched and opened our luggage(light purple color carrier).
We locked three digit code, but when we entered in our room the carrier was opening.
This is a big problem!!!!!
So we left the message on the table (Dont touch our stuff!!) and we said to receptions.

Terrible hotel!!!

The worst hotel ever!very incompetent staff, numerous hidden fees, lack of transparency and a very unsupported management team. They make u pay for self park and they are the ones who park your vehicle. 55 per day for regular car and 70 for SUVs. However if u take your car out for the day, you have to pay another 55 or 70 to park again within the same day which was never explained. Employees at the hotel is not empowered and pushed you off to call a 1800 number yet they can see no notes from this customer relations team. Will never stay here again. Rude management who does not take initiative, instead had me waiting for almost 2 hrs to check out. I would give them 0 stars

Booked Weekend before Thanksgiving. Very busy, great location, great service (Baggage handlers). Rooms were very comfortable and House Keeping was great. I did not get to try the in-house restaurant. I only wish the bar was open earlier than 5:00 or 6:00 PM and had refrigerators in the rooms and had the ability to control the air and heat as I want to. Other than that, it was a great experience. Would definitely recommend.

Buy 4 nights with a low-cost Alitalia flight package included and we had a great time. It is not 5 star but has clean rooms in line with the class of the hotel. Very courteous employees, fast check-in and out and last but very important central location in Manhattan: Lexington Ave intersection 51 str. Metro 10 meters from the exit.

The bedding had stains, the pillows had weird stains and the side with the weird stains was propped up against the bed like they thought we wouldn't see. The heat wasn't working properly

My gucci sunglasses were stolen,
Their washrooms are tiny and have no fans, i had to rinse the tub out before using. They then said they would comp a night and when it was time to check out they were giving me problems. The look of the lobby is deceiving. This hotel is being run by classless degenerate managers and cleaning staff. On the weekend when i checked in my suitcase with matching attached carryon piece it was 1 dollar for drop off and 1 dollar for pick up. monday when i was checking out a bell man named mauricio tried to double the price. Luggage storage is a mandatory free service I've recieved with every hotel I've been to The Staff contains too many scavengers, The way this hotel runs is sickening.

Only good thing was location but so many better, cleaner, and convenient hotels are literally right there beside this thrashy hotel.

Definitely not a 4 star hotel or worth anyones time and especially money. My birthday weekend was ruined.
