Very helpful staff and clean, cozy rooms. The decor was trendy and crisp. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Stayed at the Doubletree at 51st and Lexington. It was very nice, although not super modern. Bathroom was updated and beds were moderately comfortable. Pillows were too big for me though. The location is great for seeing most of the sights in Manhattan, and a pretty good central spot in general. Very nice that it's on the corner of a subway stop. The service staff was friendly and responsive. I would stay there again.
The location is great, but that's about it.
We were able to pick our room online and said we would be there at 3:00. Come to check in about 4:00 and the room isn't ready because it's an airline room (which nobody told us) Front desk claimed they would call us when it was ready, and nobody ever did. The rooms are very small. Bathroom door would not close either. Breakfast was lackluster as well.
Nice hotel in a fantastic location. Towels could be softer and the rooms need to be updated, but overall a great place to stay.
Really comfortable hotel. Very central location. Clean. Very professional staff. The only flaw is under the meter and during the night you can hear the metro pass, it seems they are carts and it is difficult to sleep
The aesthetics of the hotel and the room design was OK. However, it was mid-fall so they didn't have the heat or air on - but that also means no fan to circulate the air. It was humid and stale in the room the whole time was there.
Great check in experience - the staff couldn't have been nicer. (The welcome cookie was a nice touch) Room tired but very clean and lovely comfortable beds - was a bit shocked to discover no kettle but one arrived eventually. Fantastic location right in the middle of Manhattan perfect for all the main attractions. Would definitely stay again
Very nice rooms and beds were great! Nice bar area to hang out and hotel location is convenient. Breakfast was great and staff was great as well.
Pros:
1--good location
2-- clean
3--no bed bugs
Cons:
1--rude staff
2--small rooms
3--lock up your valuables, even your old fake Chanel bag (I locked all my jewelry in the safe but figured that my fake Chanel would be safe on a shelf in the closet, wrong!)
4--if your are Hilton Honors, do not expect any special treatment
Renewed and comfortable bedrooms. AC-heating system is quite noisy though. Location is just excellent! Wouldn't mind repeating.
The hotel has a good location & room. I liked getting a warm cookie at check-in.
Very clean, cosy, top class facilities, friendly staff
Service was great. Only thing is rooms feel like they need a small update.
Currently staying in the hotel and it is 5 til midnight and it is insanely loud. I plan on leaving and going elsewhere even though I do not know how that will work because it is impossible to sleep in this climate. Terrible -- and I usually LOVE DoubleTrees but this was saddening and terrible
Obnoxious Hilton club member pressure upon check in. Small, dirty room with paint peeling from humidity. Hair stuck to wall of bathroom. I've stayed at cleaner motels off the interstate in nowheresville North Carolina. Maintenance was very prompt however when we got back from a long walking tour to an un air-conditioned room. Burt, the magical maintenance man, fixed it right away. From call to cold ac was less than 5 mins. Thus, the additional star.
Seriously, nothing worse than coming back to a dirty, humid, tiny room in a "4 star" hotel...
Nice. Rooms are clean but slightly dated, need some work.
Such a pleasure staying at this location. The lady at check in was over the top sweet & was very helpful with our questions.
Location and rooms are great! My only complaint was the a/c was a little weak.
Stayed here few nights ago, thinking about going back. My time was memorable as to what i do when i was there, but what stand out was this little kid keep repeating how horrible the hotel was when we was in the elevator. He complained how tiny the hotel was and they needed more space. To be honest i was getting a little bit annoyed and was so happy to reach my floor. I know he was just being a kid. However, loving this place, its in the heart of the city and they managed the space well. I have no problem with the rooms or space, i think they used the space in such a crowded city perfectly and managed to pull off comfort and comfortable bed for a peaceful nights rest. Oh, my room was dusty but to be honest wasn't troubled by it, since i just appear without a reservation. Thank you for the opportunity to stay here.
I'm giving it 2 stars because the staff are competent. However, other than a cookie, most of the amenities you would expect to see in a hotel room, do not exist here.
Great location. Wish the rooms weren't so hot (in the winter they disable AC). We had to keep the windows open at all times to keep from overheating.
The room I stayed in was small and caused some inconvenience, but the hotel has bigger rooms. There is no view, there are many buildings around. The location is excellent. It compensates for any other disadvantage.
Looks like new, but it's old, poor bathroom and smelly room.
Not a friendly front desk.
Place was fine. Service at the front desk wasn t the best. Felt like I was bothering them
I went here for an open house and stayed at the bar for a while after. It was beautiful, clean and excellent service. I will go again.
The hotel is conveniently located. There are two metro station very nearby. The grand central is on a walking distance. The rooms itself are not so premium and felt overpriced. They do not provide even a microwave oven or coffee maker. I can't remember the last time I stayed in a hotel which did not provide a coffee maker. The buffet breakfast too is nothing premium.
Great location to visit NY, comfortable enough, home impersonal and not very friendly, Pdj overpriced, cons 2 very good bakery 1mn.
The place is nice but the rooms are small. We were in a double bedroom and that's about it. No small amenities like a coffeemaker or a small toothpaste if you happen to forget and bring one. I'm not sure if there's an icemaker on our floor, but my friend went all the way ground floor and ask for ice from the bar.
Great location close to wonderful restaurants and shopping. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room and hotel is clean and welcoming. Only issue was the room was very hot with no option to turn the air on because they had not switched the unit to air due to the time of year. Only saving Grace was being able to open a window!
We are longtime Diamond Members and have upcoming reservations for my wife's birthday. This is a special weekend for us and we have reserved a very nice room at a great rate. Several recent reviews are very disturbing and are justifiably causing us concern. We do not want to ruin our extended weekend with a problematic stay. We stay exclusively at Hilton family properties and have high expectations based on the brand level of service and accommodations. Please leave a note here and assure us of your commitment to the Hilton high standards we have come to expect. Our cancellation deadline is approaching and we would like to hear from you at your earliest convenient moment. Thank you so very much in advance for your understanding. We look forward to your reply.
They have done a nice job updating. Rooms are good, especially for NYC.
Got to the hotel late and the first room they gave me smelled like wet laundry. Turns out the bedding was still wet and the carpet was moist. Karen at the front desk was very helpful and got me into another room once I made her aware. The second room was ok for a 4-star hotel but the location was prime.
Overt elegant and we'll run hotel. The staff is excellent.
Great location to explore Manhattan. Parking garage, bar in lobby and great cafe out frount that serves food all day.
Located very close to subway. Place well maintained and smelly. Impeccable service.
Without refrigerator
There is no water boiling
The cookie on arrival is really the little extra of the hotel, the rooms are quite simple.
Lots of traces of humidity in the bathroom (peeling paint ..).
The bedroom doors slam when they close and the lack of soundproofing made me wake up several times with a start ...
Not my best experience.
Rude staffs. Will never go back. Judge people on how they dress and skin color. If you don't look rich you don't get service. Worse hotel I have been.
My next stop will be here , lovely location and great staff and enjoyed stay
Basic, not fancy, clean room. No fridge, only plugs to charge your devices on one side of the bed. Bed moderately comfortable. Furniture/decor has cheap feel to it. Night stand was missing veneer off half the front. Overall would possibly stay there again if their parking garage was not terrible. When they park your car, they ask what time you'll be leaving. We stated 11am. Upon check out at 11am, our bill had parking listed, so we figured we were all set. Upon getting to the cashier, we were rudely told the hotel had to stamp the claim cheque, and then afterwards, when they were "getting our car" it took them 35 minutes. In total 45 minutes. Others who came to get their car after us had their cars before us, attendants were just standing around, and it seemed very unorganized. We had a reservation for valentine's day brunch at 1145 and ended up missing it and not being able to go because of the parking garage. Very disappointed. For 43 dollars per day, I expect my car to be ready to go when I tell you, esp if you ask me.
Great nights rest in a great location. Price was reasonable.
Very clean hotel. I think they can do a bet better at the front desk with there service lady gave us an attitude like she didn't want to help us out but all in all it's CLEAN
My sister was visiting from Florida. She really didnt like the services given to her from the hotel.
Not worth the price. No wifi, no mini fridge, skimping on toiletries and not even shower caps. If you want them to hold your luggage after checking out it's a dollar to hand over and a dollar to collect per luggage.
Poor lighting in the room. Ac ran non-stop just to maintain about 73F, in May when it was about that temperature outside. A few outlets in room didn't work. Good location though for an OK price.
Great location; staff very helpful, particularly the doormen and bellmen; room very clean and relatively spacious.
I believed a hotel of this statue should have microwaves and mini fridge in all rooms. Other than that no complaints .
The experience was during the New York Marathon and the hotel was captured by marathon runners.
Great buffet breakfast, even the coffee tasted good, but Manhattan prices. Courteous and efficient service they waste no.time and are NY friendly. Room is modern, a little Spartan, functional and spacious for NYC. Nice place to stay I will come back.
The room was very clean, the bathroom was large and the bed was very comfortable. Ahhh and you get a cookie when you arrive at the hotel!
I definitely recommend it.
Location of the hotel was outstanding. Rooms were well cleaned. Bathroom was nice with good lighting. There was no fridge and HDMI ports were hard to reach on the TV. Overall very good.
Went there for a seminar. Good experience with their staff. Helpful. Neighborhood is nice.
I went for a seminar in the lobby of the hotel. The lobby smelled great, but no one could tell me what the management pumps into the vents. Still, it made the hustle and bustle of the lobby waiting area, gift store and bar that much more pleasant.
Went to the rooftop bar, waitress took a really long time to take our orders (probably because we were very well dressed)
Staff was excellent!! Location was perfect for my business meetings and you can never go wrong with those cookies!!!
The fantastic attention I can not say muchas noe I get to host
Love the warm cookie they give you upon check-in! This place fits the bill. It's friendly, quick check-in, quiet, clean, comfortable rooms and close to everything. The fitness center is adequate as well.
Nice location but the rooms need upgrades and updating.
Standard Hotel Downtown New York
The hotel in general, specially the rooms are now a bit dated, needs an urgent upgrade!
Staff is friendly!
Breakfast is quite expensive since the local tip makes the final bill quite steep!
Nice room and great location but be sure to request a room away from the road.
Location is great and lobby ok. Big down are the cleanliness and the bathroom. (Door bang into the toilette). Small room but confortable
Ouch. Friday night was incredibly noisy. Party in the room next door through very thin walls. Banging on our door. Calls to front desk at midnight, 2:30am, and 3am got action at 3am. On checking out, the front desk offered nothing but "sorry about that".
Perfect location Hotel with some reform but it's noticeable that it is very old. Net
