Good hotel, very well located to reach all places in Manhattan excellent
Not a bad location but needs modernising. Breakfast is worth having, take away what you can't eat; the waiters are happy to box up.
Good location near great restaurants and bars. Subway entrance outside. Room was worn out. Bathroom door delaminating. Not scary but needs some TLC.
Worst hilton property I have ever stayed. Run down, very dirty, stuff broken, very noisy both from the street and the corridor, no fridge, no coffee making facilities, very basis but expensive ($30) breakfast. Stay away.
One of the best hotel deals we have ever had. Not a small room. Clean, comfortable, and tasteful. Late checkout time. Great location. Wonderful shower. Quality bed and bedding.
Decent corporate hotel. Food very average. Service average
The service at breakfast in the restaurant was great! Our server haves us bottled waters after breakfast every morning because every day was 90+ degrees. Breakfast options were pretty standard. Room was adequate, but in NY, you don't spend much time in your room anyway!
Rooms are unfortunately poorly cleaned, safe available but unfortunately without a door, no fridge air conditioning can barely adjust and is noisy.
Clean, quiet, central - what more could you ask for? Didn't eat there but that was nothing to do with the hotel, we just wanted to go wandering...No complaints at all ..Ive read some reviews with people complaining that the tile in the shower was crooked or something...get a life, you're in New York and all you can see is a damaged tile?? Would definitely go back...
Was only there briefly for a work event. Seemed nice.
Pros....Very clean, Doormen very attentive.
Cons....Staff rude, called to arrange car service to the airport the next morning...staff responded with "you needed to call 24 hours in advance" and then hung the phone up on us. Charges for wifi $15/day, I haven't been charged for wifi in a hotel in years, are you not making enough on your room rate that you need to tack on another charge? Phone did not work in room, had to go downstairs to request that someone come up to collect our luggage. Waited 45min and finally carried 5 bags down ourselves. Every room door slams shut and that is all we heard all night long. While our stay was not horrible, for the price of the room I expect better service, particularly without the rudeness. We have stayed in other Doubletree hotels and had good experiences. This location however could use some work.
Hotel was fine, it served its purpose nothing amazing but clean and comfy
Gonna be staying here in December for a little Christmas vacation .... hopefully I made a wise choice when I picked this hotel to stay at. It appears to be in a good area and the price seems reasonable.
A very nice and clean hotel in NYC. Conveniently located just a couple of blocks from 2 subway lines and maybe 6 blocks from St. Patrick's Cathedral and not.much further to Rockefeller Center. Rooms were good size for NY hotels.
Good shower. Lumpy bed. Our room was stuffy so we opened the window. Concierge was friendly and informative. WARNING: The Met restaurant cost us $60 for 2 buffet breakfasts.
I am only giving them 2 stars because there location was very good for a NYC trip. The staff was like NYC robots with no personality what so ever. And the rooms were ok, but dirty. The price and location were really the selling points to this location. My advice to anyone who wants to stay in NYC, do yourself a favor, go to VRBO and rent an apartment in the village or near central park and just take the subway into mid-town, which is like 10-15 minute ride. You will be surprised that the prices are even sometimes lower then the hotels and much more room. You will be happier then dealing with bozos at hotels like Double Tree.
Rooms were just the size we needed, great unique place
Basic hotel and basic amenities. Does not have hot breakfast option. Service is good (used only for t desk). Great location, but now views.
My favorite DoubleTree of all of the doubletrees in Manhattan
Great place to stay, great price and great location
Good solid business hotel, strategically located, with an excellent breakfast place next door
This hotel is well positioned and close to the subway.
Clean rooms with a friendly staff. Always busy but they seem to go out of their way to be kind especially to kids. It is both noticed and appreciated.
I would stay there again.
Good location in Midtown. Nearby restaurants and stores. Nice rooms and lobby.
The service is terrible. For example, I was told at the restaurant that I couldn't take my food to my room... why the heck not? 4-star hotel? Please.
Nice old hotel, nice staff wor were completely satisfied and would love to come back
Staff very rude and the room was dirty broken furniture and the bathroom one meter by one to the request to change it I was asked 22 dollars a day per person. I had to contact my agency and in any case I had problems changing it. Reception staff really rude. This is the ninth time I come to New York the first time something like this happens to me. Certainly never again here and I don't recommend it.
Great location and friendly staff. Rooms and rugs are from the 80s. While trying to take a nap you could hear the people in the corridor and in the morning you get rudely awaken to get room service, you can hear them chat and laugh in the corridor.
So be aware if you have trouble sleeping I wouldn't recommend this place.
Stopped in for a drink while waiting for subway service to resume. Both bartenders, while not necessarily surly, were not exactly friendly either - just skimming the "why am I bothering getting a drink for you?" attitude. Then, a weak pour on the drink.
Also, tip was included on the bill handed back - not a problem, but really very low-balled. Maybe that's why the guys were, um, indifferent? Normaly, I would've added more to the tip if there'd been better service. I guess I'm suggesting be more friendly, add a better hit to the cocktails and tips would be better?
The nut mix was awesome, though!
Of all the hotels I've been to around the world, this hotel should win the award of the most rude front desk staff. The way they interact is as if you're bothering them all the time. I've never even seen one with a smile. I still can't believe those people actually work in customer service. I was surprised at how fast they sent a reply here. When I stayed there, it took a lot of time before someone picks up the phone and answer in an almost annoyed manner as if they're doing you a very big favor. Even a simple request of a water kettle (which they didn't have in the room) took 3hrs and 3 calls to arrive.
Nice hotel in the city center, treated us with delicious fresh cookies, Times Square is nearby, within walking distance. The room is not big, clean, comfortable. The staff are helpful and polite. In general, Americans are very polite people.
Rooms were nice and clean but small. Price was good through groupon. Biggest complaint was our room had no AC. It was so hot the first night. They brought us a fan to put in the window, it worked. They need some new HVAC systems. And stop using that smelly spray in the lobby.
Great Hotel, close to all kind of monuments, amenities, avenues, ...
Bar not so pleasant. Bartenders not in a mood.
Hotel can also look into "modernising their bathrooms".
Receptionists and "bell boys" super friendly.
ey ask you if you have Hilton Honors, makes me feel like I am of no importance. Don't stay here unless you are a Hilton's Honor. I've had cheaper hotels take better care of me.
I just checked yesterday. Not very please with the room. TV not working well. Charge of 14 dollars a day for Wifi. Bathroom has water damage and smells. The staff is nice. Every time you ask a question they ask you if you have Hilton Honors, makes me feel like I am of no importance. Don't stay here unless you are a Hilton's Honor. I've had cheaper hotels take better care of me.
Clean and nice hotel, but no room service and the small things need upkeep - walls need to be repainted, trims need to be repaired, etc
We have arrived two hours past our check in time and our room wasn't ready. We were accommodated with drinks and lower rate which was very nice. The room was okay. The air conditioning didn't work well and left the room hot a night. The bathroom door was broken and we struggled to close it. Other than those issues our stay was fine.
The room as such was good and cleaned everyday. But the bathroom was tiny and one wall had handprints on it. There is also no room service or provision to make coffee inside the room.
But the location is great. Lobby has free WiFi and staff is friendly.
Big hotel with small rooms And not enough desk staff.
The excellent truth ....! We were really seven days in which we did not lack anything, the people from reception from the first to the last day always ready to make us feel comfortable. (I can not say anything about English) They gave us room number 1734, very spacious, the bathroom very comfortable everything perfect, the attention by the people who take care of the cleaning very careful and attentive to solve any inconvenience. We were very comfortable, we loved both the hotel and the staff. The special thanks of my wife and mine for the gentlemen .FRANK JIMINEZ, JORGE PAREDES AND MARCELO MONTUFAR. We will recommend it and we will return ...!
Wall, I've stayed here quite few times, and because I already know the area I decided to stay here again. But this was the last time I stayed here. We had issues with the AC, it was not working, so told the lady at the front desk(an Indian lady wearing glasses) that was very rude and unprofessional about the issue. She said she did not think they can fix it cause they are busy. She is not even looking at you when she talks. We came back to the room in the evening, guess what, there was a small fan on top of the AC unit, facing the bed. The curtains were pulled on the side , and I noticed a lot of mold on the walls. Omg that was disgusting. I will not stay here again. Things happen but c'mon this was too much!
Well located. Cosi, friendly, good average size rooms, clean, neat. This is my 1st time here and I did like it.
Room is dated with carpet torn and worn badly. Hilton have gone downhill and won t trust the brand anymore
Mr raphael, one of the attendants, went the extra mile in attending us. I appreciate his service. I hope all the staffs are like him, very approachable, comes to you with a smile and just the right person for customer service.
Good location and ok amenities. No refrigerator or microwave though.
Loved it, the location was very centric, and the cookies amazing lol, only thing I really disliked was the lack of microwaves in the rooms, even in the restaurant or bar, wasn't a microwave, sucks if you have leftovers other than that the service is amazing, super clean and neat, would definitely visit again
Excellent hotel in Manhattan, New York. Spacious rooms with very comfortable beds to rest, after walking and touring the city in the middle of winter. Careful vocation of service of the personnel oriented to the client. Highly recommended
Very clean and modern looking. Staff was friendly and courteus, was visiting a friend who was staying there.
Space is at a premium in Manhattan obviously but the hotel and staff is nice. Great location also.
Zero stars would be best. 45 minute wait to check in. At peak check in time you think there would be more than 2 people working at the front desk? Hotel is worn, dated and for the rates they are charging, someone could put a little money back into this place....and they think a little note apologizing for not living up to expectations takes care of the problem?
It doesn't. Fix things. Hire people. Take care of the people who pay your bills.
They win me over every time with Evelyn Crabtree toiletries and warm oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
Showed up late for the reservation due to delays. Staff was more than hospitable.
Standard hotel room with average cleaniness. Staff was friendly but somewhat difficult to reach. They did provide toothpaste upon request, though. The price was reasonable for the experience.
Good area. However you do hear the housekeeping staff cleaning the rooms, which interrupted my sleep. Further all good and comfortable
Nice location room is large on Hilton honor floor but breakfast is bad lobby is too crowded looks like downtown
Convenience is good, but making is old. The fitness gym has only a running machine.
My friends and I stayed at this hotel in May 2008 and it was nice. We especially loved the bar, except they closed early. We tried to have a Sunset (??) cocktail drink on a daily basis, so we would drink it before we left to explore the city, but it would have been nice to have it at the end our night. As for the rooms, they were very clean and the staff was fabulous!!
Vicki was great checking us in, super helpful. Nice rooms, good breakfast, wonderful location.
Checked all the boxes, clean rooms. Nothing special, not the greatest service.
horrible costumer service, rooms are very average with not even a room service
This place nickel and dimes its customers. Awful service!!
The hotel is beautiful and the staff is wonderful. When we checked in we were given hot chocolate chip cookies for being Hilton honors members. The only downfall would be the size of the room is a bit small with no microwave. Overall is pretty great Hilton property and glad to be here.
Hotel was nice and clean. Prime location. Only downfall was not being aware of the vouchers needed for the free breakfast.
Nice clean hotel. Great bar and good food for late night dinner. Would recommend for out of town guests or business trip
Great location, lots of stuff within walking distance. Room was clean, staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately there's no restaurant inside but with food available literally right out the door, not a big issue. Only downside, there's no fridge or microwave in the rooms (not sure if that's just a Manhattan thing) to keep/warm up left overs. All in all, would stay again!
Good afternoon, I was guest of the hotel during the days of July 2 to 6, on June 26 a package arrived at the hotel in my name, sent by DHL to Pablo Gadea; in the days I was there I asked 3 times for the package in the front desk and they told me that there was nothing DHL informs me that they delivered it on June 26 and I from July 2 to 6 asked 3 times and I was denied
Made a weekend reservation for my daughters complete a credit card authorization for so my daughters charges were covered. Have written approve from their office, yet they still made my daughter out up a credit card. When I tried to contact them they hung up on me 5 time. The only way to get them on the phone was to go through the Hilton honors number to file a complaint. The lady who got on the phone from double tree metropolitan basically called me a liar. I have the written prof and the phone records to back up what I am say. DONOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL THEY WILL DEFRAUD YOU AND CALL U A LIAR WHEN YOU CATCH THEM.
Pretty typical but well appointed property, great location. Rooms were nice and clean, staff was quite friendly and helpful.
Overall good service and room was good too. Was just surprised about the lack of fridge but not that big of an issue
3* is all I can give this place as personally the staff were rude (except the room tidy ladies they were brilliant!) It was our wedding when we visited here so our excitement helped us quickly forget the shocking service. At one point there was just us and one other couple near the reception desks and we were told if we didn't stand behind the sign they would not serve us (this sign was 1 foot to the left of me) so as the lady insisted I stepped 1 foot to the left and as of by magic she called us forward to the desk. Personally this was the most pointless and obnoxious task almost like she was trying to prove something to herself. This was after we had been told our flight was cancelled home and we had to stay another night so all around a bad experience! Also my parents had asked if they could organise anything for our room for the morning of the wedding and the reception staff were not interested in helping them. When we came down the morning of our wedding nobody wanted to help take pictures either. Moving on to the room... The iron was shocking so make sure you pack one, there was a hairdryer, TV, desk area, 2 large mirrors one full length in the bedroom and 1 half in the bathroom. The shower was so powerful it felt like it was shedding my skin. There wasn't a bath in our room either heads up for those with children we don't so it was ok. Carpet is in both the bedrooms and hallway so you don't really here much noise. And the cleaners come in everyday unless asked not to, to tidy up replenish the towels and loo roll empty bins etc. There's no fridge or tea and coffee making facilities which is poor for a self accommodating hotel. There was a safe inside the wardrobe and plenty of hangars in there to hang your clothes. The bed was huge and comfortable and sheets were clean. But again seems to be repeated in hotels these days the charging sockets are at the end of your bed so you can't charge your phone next to you.
Above average space for a NYC hotel room. Bathrooms need major updates.
