The hotel is not bad, well located in central New York. It does not have a minibar or even a car for you and coffee in the room. It would have to be restored as the bathroom door is broken into pieces

I stayed here with my family for one night in room with two double beds. Very, very comfortable bed and pillows. The front desk provided cookies, and later toothpaste, which I appreciated. Free WiFi for members, and membership is free. Nice, clean room, and a full, clean gym. Room temperature was nice.

One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. Staff unconcerned about anything but themselves. The bathroom door was virtually hanging off. You can see this hotel is not concerned with maintenance. Rooms very cramped and we were next to the lifts so the noise at night when someone used the lift was like an airplane landing. I thought Hilton was supposed to be special! Avoid this hotel!!!

Staff is extremely unhelpful. The Hilton service is constantly unattended. There is a $2/bag service fee to keep your bag before and after checkout.
Rooms are old and dated. Weird smell in bathrooms.
Also, the hotel is next to the fire station and police station so it can get very noisy at night

Nice hotel, amazing location (10 mins walk to central park, 5 mins to grand central). No outside noise, air con, friendly porters at the door. One star off because $20 for a glass of red wine (really?), and it wasnt even an expensive wine.

The hotel is in a prime location, walking distance to Grand Central station. The room was very clean, and everything was as expected. Service was helpful and friendly, although the hotel was very busy, so there was a wait time for checking in and out.

Room was OK size (accessible room for my partner) however poor service, secretive service (nothing immediately obvious unless you ask) and poor beds and pillows... cannot recommend at all - won't be back

rather degrading Hotel, at the entrance seems to be in the station room with barefoot people, people being thrown on some sleep sofas. .. maybe because the Ceck-in is only from 3 pm .. not caring highly of those arriving by night flights with change of spindle etc ... staff at the Ceck-in very rude and annoying, not at all ready to welcome and help the customer. ..the strongly discouraged, the worst environment ever found in a hotel! Never again! I hope travel agencies will delete it from their lists. Rating not stars but 5 stables! Add thieves as well, after keeping us waiting 5 hours to give us the room we were charged to keep us suitcase. .2 dollars and 2 dollars to get it back! SHAMEFUL!

This is a the hotel we use when visiting NYC. Good location for the subway, the amount of restaurants on 2nd Ave and not a crowded area.

Plus we want to thank Janice for giving up a tip for using the valet parking that is not park of the hotel..... Thank you Janice..

A typical New York hotel..perfect location in the heart of Manhattan! Room a bit dark, but spacious! 5th Avenue is only 5min away (on foot) Staff as always very friendly ... At check in there's a warm biscuit..lovely!

Rooms were pricey and definitely could use an update the staff was very friendly however the parking is very expensive and the manager was rude in the icon parking garage. The general facilities are beautiful with the lounge and Lobby and the services that are offered if you need to stay someplace nice given that it's New York it's a good value and it's a good location

Located tight by the Lexington/51st street subway stop, and a three block walk to Rockefeller Square, this hotel is very conveniently located. It's showing some wear and tear and could use some remodeling (old room carpet, dusty in places) but the bed is super comfortable, the shower nice and hot/powerful which is superb after a long trip, and the service is kind and polite. Wifi is free with hhonors membership. Had a great stay!

Great place. Room was clean and staff were very friendly. I requested a late check out since I got there past midnight and needed more time to sleep in. The staff were very friendly and let me to check out 2 hours later.

The hotel is in a great location for getting around Manhattan, right next to it there are some metro stops that make getting around quick. The rooms are clean and comfortable even though those on the upper floors are nicer than those on the lower floors, if only for the view of the crysler skyscraper. The staff is friendly and helpful. It's the second time I stay here and I wouldn't change

Unfriendly staff at check-in and check-out. Missing onsite amenities like microwaves or fridges or even coffee. Bathroom had major water damage to ceiling and doors, nasty discoloration in the tub, and permanent stains on the mirrors.

I fell in love with New York my very first visit and the Doubletree is so nice and clean smells great and the staff was friendly the hotel is in the perfect spot to get to many different places and to top it off those magnificent chocolate Chip cookies are yummy and that bed felt like sleeping on marshmallows the only thing I didn't like was I had to leave ;) & there was no coffee maker but then again there's so many coffee shops around so I will definitely stay here again unless my refundable 150 deposit doesn't get returned to my card

Worst hotel ever!! DO NOT BOOK this one. I am still staying at the hotel now so wait for my full review
Quick answer to your reply - I DID talk to you guys many many time already. My room AC still not working. So please do not think that I did not try.

The location was nice but we paid for a car to pick us up and take us to the airport, we checked our bags in and left them at the hotel while we shopped. When we came back to get our bags the bell boy told us our car was here and threw our bags in the back of the car. Halfway to the airport the car service calls wanting to know where we are. The bell boy had put us into someone else's Uber. When we called to ask about a refund the hotel claimed they had no idea what happened and that they don't deal with that. Will never be staying there ever again. If you expect a hotel with a good car service that won't rob you, look somewhere else .

Very disappointed. Hilton is suppose to be classy. This hotel is modern when you walk in but the rooms are not the cleanest and need to be renovated. The quality of the hotel did not match the high price we paid for the stay.

Right in the centre of Manhattan, as you would expect the hotel is extremely busy, so you may queue to check in. However there is a lovely cafe right next door and a food court just opposite and the concierge couldn't have been more helpful.

My stay here was ok rooms very dated, they don t replenish the tea and coffee when we asked we had to wait over 30 minutes for someone to bring it and then they only give you one teabag. But my main issue with the hotel was when we were checking out one particular employee was extremely rude and unhelpful her attitude was appalling I certainly wouldn t recommend this hotel
I received a reply back from the hotel but they don t seem concerned about my complaint

The double tree was a comfortable hotel to spend my weekend in. I found it to be quite pricy, but I got the breakfast package while I was there and the food was really good. Room was cleaned and sheets replaced every morning, and staff were always friendly, helpful and professional. The metro is right outside the hotel which made it convenient for me to move uptown or downtown.

Not bad. Room is clean and comfortable, and has plenty of power outlets that are easy to access, internet speed is good (but wifi is unencrypted). However the bathroom door handle does not work, there is only one chair, constant honking from cars and sirens from police station come through the window, tv quality is mediocre, staff was helpful but not friendly, and the coffee in the room is instant. Decent value for the money, would stay again, but not on the side with the police station.

In summary: UNDERWHELMING. Given the Hilton name, not to the mention the price (over $1.2k for 4 nights), we expected a lot more from this hotel. The staff are pretty abrupt and the rooms are both surprisingly small and quite shabby in places. If you've stayed in a Premier Inn in the UK, the experience is not too dissimilar, except a Premier Inn is around 50% cheaper. No amount of chocolate-chip cookies on check-in will bump this place up a few stars...

Fine location - right next to the 6 line subway. Also a short walk to Broadway, Grand Central Station, Central Park, and even Penn Station. The property decor is a bit worn out. Door can stick, carpet is worn in spots, but it is always clean and comfortable. A busy lobby at peak times so plan to stand in line if you're checking in in person. I stay here often as it is usually cheaper than other similarly located hotels in midtown.

Great location close to grand central station time square 5th ave and other must sees in nyc. Room was large however needed work bathroom wall paper coming off as well has paint and walls dirty

Hallways were very cluttered as there was always bags of dirty laundry, cleaning carts, and food items left for pickup hours before. It was the same everyday. Avoid what they call the artisanal cheese board at the lounge. It was nothing more than cheap supermarket Velveeta and toasted white bread. An insult to call it artisinal.
