Rooms are nice. The Met bar is a terrible place to eat.
The location is the best thing x not to say the only good thing.
The receptionists edges.
The old elevator and it takes the unspeakable or you take it easy or you hold it.
The small room and the bathroom too.
The cleaning leaves to be desired.
The good thing is also that they have a freshco at the door and the subway at the back.
It didn't deserve the money i paid. Very old facilities, uncomfortable bed and pillows.
The staff is awesome. Vickie and Marilyn amazing at the front desk. Daisy thank you for the clean room you Rock!!! Rachel thank you for taking care of our luggage. Jose we appreciate your warm welcome every morning as we come out the door. JC, Jose, the beautiful hostess, and all of the wait staff your service is impeccable every morning at breakfast. Thank all of you for making our stay worthwhile!!!
Busy but efficient hotel near major metro lines and central park.
We didn t hate it..
Pros: The location is amazing. The cost was amazing. The porter Reggie was hands down the coolest human we ve ever met. The staff at the front were sweet and accommodating. Every single person we spoke to on staff was helpful and friendly.
Cons: The beds were uncomfortable. There wasn t a vending machine. The room was SO dark - the entrance was lit but otherwise it was too dark in the room part. If there were a floor lamp in the corner, it would be perfect. For such a small room, it feels like an easy fix.
The customer service is great! Location is decent and located next to a subway entrance and taxi traffic is adequate for getting around the city. The lobby is small and you may have to wait to check in but they do give out warm cookies and smiles while you wait. The rooms are on the small side. During my stay my room was a little on the dirty side, carpet was dirty and the bathroom had water spots on the mirror and on the vanity. I also had damaged furniture in the room. I brought these all up to the house and they were mortified and told me they would move me and fix the issue right away, this in turn showed me that they care and have a high level of hospitality towards their guests. My stay all in all has been very pleasent.
really clean, kinda slow service. nice customer service
Eh. Facilities need an upgrade and the climate control in the rooms is lousy. The staff is great though. Super helpful. And it's in a great location, but it's pretty expensive (but no more than other area hotels so....)
Not quite what I expected from Hilton. Staff did not have his day at check out I guess ..
Very nice hotel. Got upgraded to a suite from a two double bed room. Pull out couch was a little noisy and there weren't covers or pillows in the room for use as a bed. Overall a good experience. Nice staff and clean hotel.
Rooms and service are wonderful. Location is amazing, within walking distance of just about anything you might need. Highly recommend to anyone who plans on staying in NYC
Very nice suite, with a balcony. Parking is a bit expensive.
The rooms are kind of small and the air conditioning is for the whole building and not for the individual rooms. Also the room next door was pretty noisy. I think other than that, it was a decent experience.
Rusty tub. Broken wall. No view. A bit run down. Partially renovated. Good location.
Hotel in a great location, fairly good rooms, rich breakfast
Had an overnight stay in NYC and booked this hotel. I arrived earlier than expected and got there about 90 minutes before their normal check-in time. They were super busy and told me they'd try to get me in before the check-in time and that they'd text me when they had a room. Simple enough but i ended up spending over 4 hours waiting, including 2+hours after the normal check-in time just to get to a room. That would have been ok if they'd told me that when I first arrived and they simply let me know that they didn't have my room and wouldn't have it for three or four hours rather than give me the expectation that they'd be able to accommodate me when they couldn't even meet their normal check-in time.
This hotel is perfectly located in manhattan and has subway stations at the corner. It has a bar, store & a place for breakfast. The rooms are clean, decent size for being in nyc. The only thing that took away from a 5 star is that the rooms have no microwave and no mini fridge, this is a most for people traveling with kids. We weren t able to heat food we brought from the day and had to buy milk for my daughter daily because there was no fridge, other than that it was a great experience
The skinny doorman works in the morning age like 40 years is a stupid
Person.Too much rude.Collecting bribe from the taxi driver.Collect $ 10 from black car driver for airport trip.Too much greedy for money. No taxi driver can not stand infront of the hotel without pay this stupid guy.Need to fire this guy.
Room was warm, a/c appeared to be turned off for the season. Employees were not very friendly. But hotel was clean and beds were comfortable. We only stayed 2 nights
Old, very small & outdated rooms. I was not able to adjust the temperature in my room. Sadly, it honestly was the worst Hilton experience I've ever had.
Hotel in a location not very convenient for the subway and in a somewhat spooky neighborhood. The reception was perfect as well as the check out. Transportation to the airport for a fee but very efficient. Rooms small and fairly clean. Hall often very chaotic.
Great location next to the Subway station and walking distance fro. Rockefeller Center. 1st time visiting NYC (from Texas) - was suprised at how small the rooms were, but only slept there so didnt matter too much. Got caught in the rain on a Saturday so attempt to call for laundry service which took the front desk a while to determine they actually didnt have service on the weekends and they couldnt recommend an alternative (google fixed that). Would have loved to have a small refrigerator in the room for the leftovers I collected. The breakfast downstairs was good. The door help was disappointed when I took Ubers or Lyft it seemed, really tried to push me towards a taxi or their van. Overall it was a great experience, enjoyed the ease of access & location.
With dozens of hotels to choose from in the immediate area, you should probably choose another. Nothing to see here.
I love love love this hotel! I always stay here when I visit New York. The location is EVERYTHING!
Very nice reception
Rooms ware updated
Staff was friendly
Nice hotel, with metro stops nearby. Very comfortable beds
Clean, confortable room. The view was non-existent although the concrete wall of the building next door did provide lots of privacy. Front desk staff need to be more efficient and less schmoozy when they can see that the lines are growing at peak times. I had to scold one clerk about this and he seemed really surprised - like it had never dawned on him to look up and see how many people were waiting. Duh.
Very good location immaculately clean friendly doorstaff comfortable lobby
Excellent customer service & comfortable walking distance to theatre district.
Absolutely awful service by Juliana the night manager. Our flight was delayed by four hours, but we were notified ahead of time. We called the hotel right away (at 4pm Thursday) to specify we d be in at 2am Friday due to the delay and please do not give our room away. 10 hours notice ! They read the note wrong put in by the person who took our call. Apparently 4am Friday to them means Saturday... they gave up our 2 bed suite and expected myself and the other booked guest to just share a bed , offered no other solution, and now one of us will have to sleep on the floor. Absolutely horrendous management.
Rooms are comfortable and clean and the hotel is licated relatively close to every place
Hotel well located. Just next to a metro station. (We took an unlimited metro card for 7 days) 10 min walk to the Rockfeller Center. We had a room with two beds. I found it rather spacious. The bathroom is very good. (We do not eat in the mini bars but you have to know that there was none in our room if it interferes with you).
Next door there is a supermarket open 24 hours a day. Which is practical. Around there are also several places where you can take the American breakfast.
We are very satisfied with this hotel.
Great location and the staff were nice and accommodating. Traveled to this hotel via Uber from Newark after a cancelled flight and countless hours waiting at the airport. Got to the hotel at 3 AM and the staff were nice and offered us the chocolate chip cookies (which are amazing) even at such a late hour. The staff also gave my aunt and I two double beds without us requesting them even though we had to settle for one Queen bed upon booking. This little detail was a great convenience for us. The 5 night stay as a whole was very enjoyable. The only criticism I would give is that the heat was on the whole time and you could not adjust the system to put on the AC. My aunt and I are very hot natured so thank goodness for the open window. The only thing we were able to adjust was the fan speed. Otherwise though, great hotel and would recommend to anyone. I will definitely be back!
Also, housekeeping was on point!
I left a Burberry watch at the hotel and have called 4 times in two weeks and left voice mails with 1) lost and found, 2) housekeeping, 3) housekeeping manager. Front desk has also said they emailed the housekeeping manager. Nothing. No one outside of housekeeping seems to have access to the lost and found. Which is an obviously bad process.
Housekeeping is the unresponsive department. The excuses have been 1) they are in a 1-hour meeting and will call you back and 2) they are gone for the day.
A 3-start a hotel can get in touch with housekeeping in 1 day. For a 4-start hotel to have these problems is ridiculous.
While I stayed there, the staff were nice and visibly disorganized.
Great staff and customer service but my bed was old and soft and gave me a backache. Not a typical experience for Hilton. Replace the mattresses!
Good but rushed service, good accommodations for the price.
Shakedown
As a gold member I use Hilton s literally around the world
This year I have been in the Conrad in NYC and Seoul. I have been in Hilton Athens. A boutique hotel in Portland and my fair share of Hampton Inns.
Never have I been asked for a storage fee for my bags. You all should be embarrassed.
Very good position in Manhattan. Two steps from metro stop. Good hotel. Fitted carpet on the floor in room and this is not a good thing. No breakfast included. Enough space in room but bathroom was tiny, no shower but bathtub. Bed was king size, but too soft for my back. The room was a bit noisy.
Excellent staff. Quick and painless check in - got a free cookie too. Nice little room. Exactly what you need for a work week.
Disappointed with the room . The bathroom smelt of PEE & the finish of the room wasn't the standard that was expected for a HILTON HOTEL !!! Weve stayed in one of the HILTONS in London & theres no comparison to it.
The Staff were very friendly & helpful with our enquiries that we made about directions on where to go & how to get to the places we wanted to go.
Good location, close to Rockefeller center, rooms are clean, neat and comfortable. Service has been good, friendly and helpful.
Overall good, someone smoked in the room before and made it smells bad. Need to fix that but all in all good
Nice and comfortable hotel Excellent service Large and comfortable room but location is less than a good 15 minutes walk to Tim Square. Nice and comfortable hotel Excellent service Large and comfortable room Able Location is less than a 15 minute walk to Time Square
For a double tree by Hilton it's not the best I've been to. The rooms aren't as nice as some of the other ones I've stayed at. The service isn't great. No phone in the room. No mini bar. Not sure if this is just normal for America though...
We had a wonderful experience this Christmas season. From the warm greeting with warm cookies to checking our bags when we got there and on our last day, every employee was warm and friendly and so helpful. When I got to the airport and realized that I left a bag in my room, Roniel and Carlos were very helpful and sent a driver to deliver it to me!
What a beautiful hotel would definitely recommend it to others .Staff were so friendly and helpful. Will certainly go back there to stay.
Great hotel for the $$ in Manhattan. King size bed and room that was not a shoebox!!!
Pay 1 dollar per bag left after check out ... and another 1 dollar per bag to collect ... I had never seen this in all the hotels I've been to.
We had a great time at the DoubleTree Hilton. The staff was great to us very friendly and especially the Doorman named Julio who made a point to make sure we eat at good restaurants next door and a safe great cab ride back to the airport. Believe me next trip to NYC we will be back there.....now about those delious cookies that DoubleTree is known for....great as expected.
This hotel is very nice and convenient to the surrounding area. Although when I arrived my room was not ready for several more hours and I was quickly pushed aside for the next person in line. After traveling all day this was hard to drop my items off with the bellman and go out on the town. Once in the room everything was nice except that there was not a coffee pot in the room. I understand that most hotel coffee is less than desirable and with a Starbucks no more than 50 ft in any direction maybe it makes sense! However, as someone who likes to enjoy a small cup before I get out in the morning I found this to be an inconvenience. Will I stay here again? Yes. However as a HHonors Member I have come to expect a level of service that did not seem to be present at this hotel.
A standard Doubletree, clean comfortable and central.
Absolutely avoid this hotel if you don't have a US credit card. They charge you a deposit of $50 per night and then they seem to have enormous problems in refunding it if your card isn't issued in the US.
Stayed one week and checked out on the 8th of May. Still waiting for my money, even after countless emails back and forth.
Practically losing hope, and they even suggested that the refund, if it will ever come, will be in the form of a cheque, a payment system that has been discontinued in the Netherlands and the bank might charge me a fat commission to cash in.
As for the hotel, the bathroom has definitely seen better days (rotten door that wouldn't lock, chipped bathtub, noisy tap, half broken bath/shower switch), the breakfast wasn't worth the price and they charge you two dollars A PIECE (one for dropping and one for withdrawal, to be paid cash to the not-so-friendly personnel) to leave your luggage in the depot before check-in and after checkout.
New York is a rip-off town 1st class but this hotel is doing absolutely nothing to better this reputation.
Small outdated rooms, bathtub needed replaced it had nicks in the porcelain.
Great location, large and comfortable rooms, the only drawback is the temperature of the room (excessively cold in summer).
Very reasonably priced hotel in a great location! The decor and amenities are modern and comfortable. I would recommend this.
The only good thing about this hotel is location vs price, but I will never come back. It's the worst Doubletree I ve ever been by far, the room was not clean and smelled weird, walls in the bathroom were slightly dirty, I can ignore a lot of things in a hotel, but cleanness is not one of them. Also, service was not the best, they even charge us at the concierge for keeping our luggage after checkout for a few minutes, I travel a lot and never seen that before. No mini bar, no water bottles, small rooms, old furniture Unless you have a great deal on the room rate, you better find another option.
Large, clean rooms, good value generally, convenient location on the East Side.
Central location in a safe district to reach all the sights and action of Midtown Manhattan!
The bar was fantastic. They have a great sturgeon of wine and the snacks were yummy
One of Their employees called and woke me up at 3 am with an oops wrong number ! Thanks a lot guys ! Not going there anytime soon!
Clean and service was decent. The AC didnt work and the room was 74 degrees. We were told our check in would be at 12-1 and they were unable to accommodate this which was understandable as they are busy but instead of providing a free bag check while we waited they charged us to store them. Not impressed.
I stayed with my family and it was a wonderful stay. The room size was good, the air conditioning great and easy to set, the beds very comfortable.
The team at breakfast always greeted you happily in the morning, super efficient and offering to fill up your coffee and orange juice.
Karen at reception was exceptional, suggesting some good events nearby for the kids, we had a great week in New York.
Terrible, Terrible , Terrible. Did I mention that they were absolutely Terrible? The photo of the room (misrepresented ), attitude at the front desk (lacking personality ) Actual room after moving twice, ( Musty Smell)
Can't beat the location. Short walk to Time Square but far enough away to avoid a lot of the congestion. Rooms are on the small side but it's New York. Make sure to book the bed and breakfast.
Filthy, very disappointed, dirty rag left in my shower, dust so thick on phone, couldn't touch it, usually they give waters not this time
Very good location, there are staff who speak Spanish and comfortable rooms internet in lobby free of charge
Fantasic place. Nice for summer. Great cookies and breakfeast buffet
Compliant:
Keys not working
To cold ac system not working
No heat
Rude front desk person
Hello im a returning customer to the double tree on 51st Lexington
Let start off by saying I came here for my anniversary it was a great idea until i had complications with the service
i was excited to get because i have stayed here numerious times and they never gave them to me even tho i asked for them in the past
So lets get back to my story i go up atairs all the way to the 18th floor not to be able to get into my room so i called the front desk they were surprised then said here are the new card to get into your room
It dosnt work after i tired all of them around the room we couldent take it no more we called the CARE LINE they answered n said there sending a tech asap and hes on his way up rite now that was not true.
About half an later i call and i say forget it tell him not to come im pissed off at this time the guy ends up knocking on my door with a small heater i thanked him he left
Fast forword on a way back of my last Breakfest the locks dont work again can i please get a break it was an emergency i had to get back in i called again i go down again
To get a attudude down stairs at the front desk just to get my new key back work do you think this is fair to us i spent a lot of money here and lots of tips for this exprience its not worth it
No friendly staff at all, not very service-minded and unwilling to help us confirm a reservation by telephone, unless of course extra is paid. The suitcases may be in an office just before departure, which is also possible against payment. Although we were prepared for this, it was still disappointing.
In addition, I would be called back about my vanished perfume box, but I also hear nothing of it.
Comfortable rooms in a good midtown location. Noise can be an issue as you can hear activity in the corridor.
