My arrival experience was saddening, but soon the hotel's everyday heroes and thoughtful managers (almost) offset that. The downtown location across from a MAX station allowed easy, inexpensive sightseeing on a DIY tour.

Easy to check in and park. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. We walked to breakfast (Pine State Biscuits, 15 min away) and to Moda center (10 min away), but otherwise mostly business area. Still the parking was very convenient, $25 for all day in/out and as late as 5 pm on check out day. Would stay here again.

Spent 4 days and 4 nights here...nice but slightly small room. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were not; I did end up sleeping okay because I doubled the pillows. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. Wifi is only free if you are an Honors member and there is not a free breakfast.

The rooms have fantastic sound proofing. We heard a baby crying loudly in the hallway and right when we walked in the room, the sound just disappeared. The service is fantastic. I got food poisoning in the city, and they sent up a care package with free soup and ginger beers. The parking is in a large garage, so always easy to find a spot. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great spot for a Portland stay. Events are easily accessed by the Max trains system. Reaching far into different cities. There are many food places nearby that are convenient to wander too by max and a walk. Just good enough of a location to avoid city traffic.

We loved this hotel. We were here for a conference and it's a great place to have it held! The only down side was alarms going off 3 days in a row and once was in the middle of the night. That needs to be fixed

I have not stayed at this hotel. I did got to a local expo hosted inside one of the hotels rooms. I had a great time, the room was very spacious for the local businesses to set up booths and tables.

Helpful staff and great experience at the breakfast restaurant. While traveling with kids, we we're fortunate to have connecting rooms and a great server, Michelle, at the buffet. We did not have the same positive experience at the bar and lounge but after Juan took over as our server, things improved there.

The Hotel is very nice. The reason for not getting 5 stars was the parking garage. Scary is a understatement. Dark and poor lighting, poor or lack of signage. The smell is like a restroom that hasn't been cleaned.

I was in Portland for a convention and was greeted by Paula, manager on duty, who is pleasant and professional. I recommend her highly. I did not stay at the hotel as the event I was planning to attend was not as advertised. Paula recommended me to contact the Financial department at Double Tree, Sara Holhler. Sara got in touch with me right away, which was helpful, but handled the situation as if I were a "robot". Very curt. I explained that I was a Hilton Honors member and that the hotel was very nice, but I only walked into the room, put down my suitcase, and left with an hour, never using the room.

Her quick and and impersonal remark was "I am sorry to hear that, but I will not be able to assist you." I mentioned that the hotel was half empty and there was no lack of rooms, but again, as quick as she possible could get it out of her mouth without any hesitation, she said, "I am sorry to hear that but no". Never thanked me for being a Hilton Honors member, never asked me how my day was, never responded except in a rout manner.
Needless to say, the room cost me $190.00 USD. I was not offered a discount, a credit or any such thing.

There are many choices of hotels and this will not be my further choice. The hotel itself is nice, the area of town is very "sketchy".

I travel a bit for work, so I see a number of hotels per year. I'm also an engineer who does inspections so I tend to be a bit critical of spaces.
Pros:
Location is close to several attractions and restaurants within walking distance.
It has a bar and restaurant inside.
The lobby is quite large and can hold a large group coming in.
The check in staff were very friendly.
The elevators are quick to come to your floor and are quiet.
My king size bed room was large and the bedding was very comfortable.
Lamps on the night stands have switches and outlets on their base.
Furniture is tasteful and typical of this class of hotel.

Cons:
You have to pay for parking. Parking garage is covered at least but there is a gap between the garage and hotel so you will get wet going between.
The lobby is large but the check in desk is small so if a large number comes in it will take awhile to process everyone.
The carpeting throughout is dated and a little worn.
The rooms are large but the layout is inefficient. The bathroom has two doors because of a built in closet on the shared wall. This shared wall is across from the shower and is a bit narrow. Because of this there is no towel bar there and no convenient place to hang your towel while in the shower.
The shower is small with a low (6'7) ceiling, but the shower head is actually high enough that I (6'1) didn't have to bend over to use.
The shower controls are pull on, push off with a rotate for temperature, but the handle they used was the twist on and temperature style so it is not intuitive on how to use.
There is simply a hook next to the sink for a hand towel but no towel on it. All towels and wash cloths are stored on a shelf under the sink.
There are not very many outlets in the room, but the tables lamps all have 4 amp outlets on them.

Double Tree was all good ! The rental car place there was just ok , they could use a little help in the customer service dept , the female there was a bit unprofessional and careless ... go elsewhere for your rental vehicle to be honest, just saying !

Too expensive for a small cramped room, had to pay almost $30 to park, no complimentary breakfast included, and in a horrible part of town. I was so disappointed compared to the other hotel chain I stayed the previous week. If you want to pay a lot and get little in return, stay here. Plus, it was not in the best part of town. I did not feel safe walking around alone or even with my daughter.

I have seen larger rooms in Tokyo. Right after I checked in I had to call for maid service the toilet was not clean and had broken mattress aI have been now waiting for 45 minutes for somebody to show up. Rooms are too small if you are traveling with kids. In simple I will not be coming back to stay here rooms made me closer phobic no problem with the check in staff or staff in general very polite and welcoming . I just wish they had better beds and rooms like at most doubletree will not recommended this doubletree to anyone

Common areas are nice but rooms are dated and not clean to my standards at least. Breakfast is expensive if not included with your room. They consider themselves a green hotel so they don't included a refrigerator in the rooms. You have to request them if you want one but nobody tells you that. The common areas are kept at insane temperatures because they don't run the ac, so expect to sweat your butt off walking to your room in the summer. Overall, for the price, find a different place to stay.

Was nice, I have never stayed in the rooms but I hear great things. PMI Portland chapter meets at the Lloyd center location on the second or third Tuesday of each month. The meals provided are good, but the vegetarian options are horrible. So if looking into catering for your event keep that in mind. Otherwise the banquet staff is amazing! Always service with a smile and quick to respond to requests.

Stayed on the ninth floor. For the rating and price of the room I must admit I was disappointed. It was dusty, stains on the wall, and hooks falling of the wall. At night it's noisy you can easily hear your neighbor and who every walks down the hall. The lobby is nice abs the restaurant were good enough that it's not worth going somewhere else for one night.

I was at the DoubleTree to attend a meeting for a volunteer organization. The staff was very helpful, asking what meeting I was looking for and directed me where to go. The space was good, decent for small meetings. The location of the hotel is very convenient, near the Lloyd Max Station.

A small complaint would be that the building is one of the older ones and it shows in the meeting space.

Clean. Efficient and friendly service. Convenient access to downtown and east side. Only 15 min from airport. If you don't have a car, it is right next to the station to get pretty much anywhere you want. The front desk was very helpful with the details.

Room was incredibly small and there was a constant rattling noise in the ceiling and a huge "boom" everytime the fan in my room would turn on. There were tons of spiders and spider webs outside on my balcony to the point where I couldn't enjoy it out there at all. The elevators also went down and a bunch of us visitors almost got stuck. I've definitely stayed at better places in the past. I do have to say the hotel staff including those working in room service were extremely nice. I at least appreciated the good customer service.

We use the DoubleTree by the Hilton for meetings all the time and really like the service we get. I help run a convention and it takes lots of planning and the hotel is always ready to help.

Pricey for such mediocre accommodations. The rooms are dated and small. The water pressure for the shower is weak and the wifi is unusable. Power even went out one night. The only plus is the location. It is within walking distance of the convention center and a mall.

DoubleTree is near my work. There's often happy hour or team lunch with coworkers at their restaurant. The restaurant has a large selection of local wines and beer. The food is really good, too. The hotel is also where my company chooses to do all-staff meetings, trainings, and events. The staff of the hotel provides us with what we need (mics, podiums, paper, coffee, meals, etc...) and everything has gone according to plan. I'd recommend this location for events and gatherings.
