Local staff are great, but the tiny grey room with grey striped sheers feels like a prison cell. Furnishing are worn. The desk chair has cracking vinyl. The front revolving door was taped off with caution tape this morning, the first day of a 4 day convention with over 6000 attendees. A little advance planning could have avoided that. Resteraunt prices are very high for what you get. We will not be returning. This was a great hotel before DoubleTree got its hands on it.

If you have an event, search elsewhere. The hotel management is uncooperative, unpleasant, and rigid. They nickel and dime you as often as possible, and their bottom line is always more important than their guests. I can't fault them for wanting to be profitable, but the best way to do that is by being GOOD to the people who hand you gobs of money.

The amount of space they have is great, but the entire location is very dated in its construction and design (think 80s Eastern Bloc architecture), and the hotel rooms feel dark and cramped with low ceilings, tiny bathrooms, and narrow windows.

The front desk and bar staff are lovely, and that's their only saving grace. I hope those folks are all able to find a better location with tolerable management where they can highlight their skills.

The Twin Cities has a boatload of hotel options and event spaces--many of which are within a mile of the DoubleTree. Use one of those instead.

We gathered at this hotel for a birthday party in a poolside room. I found it confusing to navigate to the pool and rooms when we entered the building, seems it's focus is on their event areas, not the lodging. We just started walking and followed our noses to the chlorine smell. The rooms are nothing special, that I seen, but the hot tub and pool were large and well maintained and kept the kids happy for hours.

This hotel is absolutely disgusting. The service we received was sub par as well. Our nightmare started with them giving us a room with two double beds instead of the single king room we booked. After 20-30 minutes of going back and forth with the front desk service, who initially stated there were no king rooms available when we first explained this was not what we booked, a king room suddenly appeared and we were moved. This new room filthier than the first room. Both room had stains all over the bedding, paint chipping, dust everywhere, what appeared to be mold on the ceiling and an absolutely horrifying bathroom. I should have figured this would be the case with the stench that resembled sewage water coming from the entrance near the lobby. Eventually, we decided to drive the six hours home in a blizzard as opposed to just staying there that evening. Hilton should be appalled to have their name associated with this property. Worst hotel experience of my life.

Pretty average Hilton, had a bar and coffee shop downstairs (even though the coffee shop was closed by 11am on a thurs). Honestly nothing seemed above average. I was there for a conference so I can't comment on the rooms.

Thanks

Unfortunately, our first night here a friend had bed bug issue in her room. The hotel did take care of it, but several others in my group experienced problems of different kinds. It rained overnight and my window was leaky so we had a puddle of water on the windowsill and our floor. I wouldn't stay here again.

Nice hotel, but they didn't know we had a event there. When we arrived the night before and we talked to the front desk they had no idea if we had event but they said call in the morning. I called the front desk in the morning and they still didn't know. I called three other Double Trees that didn't know either. So we went downstairs from our room and luckily our trainer put a banner out and we found our training. Just stressful, as we drove 3-4 hours away from home and the hotel didn't know that they had a we new Kia Stinger training in the hotel. There was a vehicle inside on the second floor. Other than that it was a nice place to stay.

The double tree is a solid hotel. Clean rooms, staff that is pretty consistently friendly and helpful and a good amount of space for just hanging out in or near the pool. And it handles it's conventions fairly well, though the larger a convention the more you'll notice that the convention staff are the ones working and helping out the others wandering the hotel. If you want something fancy or cheap, this probably isn't the right hotel for you. But if you want something that has a bed and is staffed well, the double tree is decent at that.

I wasn't impressed. Travelocity promised a "City View" so I guess a view of the back parking lot would qualify as "urban." The front desk staff refused to provide me with a receipt for my room at checkout, and service at the Crescent Restraunt was slow. Staff is ESL.

Some things about this hotel are 5 stars; the bed (extremely comfortable with great sheets), the staff, the layout of the room. Some things were closer to 3 stars; the bathroom was small (the spare roll of toilet paper was in the closet...Awkward!!!), the bathroom sink had chips in the porcelain, other parts of the room showed wear and tear, and you could hear lots of noise from the hallway. I heard they are getting ready to remodel the hotel which would definitely add another star. I would stay here again next time I'm in the area.

Been to this location a number of times for a conference. This was the worst year and showcased how the newer owners are really screwing over conventions and large groups. There are only 3 elevators, our group is 6-7k and one of the elevators broke each day. 2 elevators working for thousands of people created huge wait lines. Staff seems nice and respectful but it seems the owners will ensure your first year is good but comming back will be a terrible experience.

I was in the new tower and the room was comfortable, however whatever was noise going for all the nights I stayed, was just almost unbearable. Sounded like there was construction work going with a drill but staff did not seem to know what it was. I wished someone had actually come up to my room and listened to sound. I even wondered if it was the elevator! If it was not for that I would have rated 5*!

We stayed Saturday Jan 30th to celebrate our daughter's 7th birthday. Although late check out wasn't available due to the amount of guests at the hotel, the staff kindly let us stay at the pool for a few hours after check out to celebrate her birthday with a few friends. They also wished her a happy birthday upon our arrival and had a little gift for her in the room.

The room was nice however the shower temperature wasn't working; it remained incredibly hot.

Attended a small conference at the Double Tree. Venue was a good size for the event and has a nice bar by the lobby. Not sure if this is on the hotel or the event organizers, but coffee throughout the day would have been awesome.

In my room, the clock didn't work, the bedside light was burned out, no hair dryer, no ice available on levels 8, 7, 6 or 5. Finally, opened the small refrigerator and there was leftover food from the previous traveler. EEWW!
