I bought a certified pre-owned Toyota Highlander SUV from Don Valley North Hyundai on April 2, 2013 and got an amazing deal on it, and i have already driven it 25,000 trouble free miles, i have had regular oil changes, but other than that i have never had to touch anything else in the year i have owned it, my Highlander still performs and looks like it did a year ago, in fact many people had mistaken it for a brand new SUV! The only glitch came at the delivery time, as my car was not ready on the scheduled date - conflict or mix up at the service dept. so my rust-proofing etc was not done. It got pushed back a few days :( But my car was awesome when I finally got it, and they gave me a full set of winter car mats for the trouble.

The sales department of this dealership is good. However, you are in a hole after you buy the vehicle. The service department need a huge change in turnaround and they need a big supervision. As you can see the other reviews, the service department is lacking of customer service.

My wife own a 2014 santa fe. The vehicle has been serviced at this location since the day it was bought. I took the vehicle to this dealership (where i bought the vehicle) in april due to an engine issue. It turned out it's a recall issue which is covered by the warranty. Today is Sept 27th. I still have not received my vehicle yet. They gave me a replacement vehicle up to July, a Tucson which is smaller than my santafe. Then rental vehicle until now. We bought our vehicle because we want to drive around in our own vehicle. Not in a rental for over 5 months. It's almost impossible to get a hold of the service manager and the rental company keep on calling to renew the contract. Every time I take few hours off to go to renew the contract, I'm loosing my pay. Now this vehicle has been parked over 5 months, who knows what other issues it's going to have. I totally regret my decision on buying a Hyundai.

My advise is to stick with German or Japanese vehicle seems like a better choice.

For months we were looking for our first family car (being new immigrants) that would fit our budget and to be honest in the beginning of our search Hyundai was not one of our first choices but as of now I am so glad that we spoke to Daniel Shin at the dealership and he was very professional in closing the deal. We test drove the Santefe 2019 and completely enjoyed the drive and the SUV is packed with features. Luckily for us the dealership was celebrating their 10 year anniversary so to sweeten the deal a little bit more Daniel also to our delightful surprise gave us a 55inch Sharp TV which was the cherry on the cake. So we drove out not only feeling good but speechless!
We had a great experience with Daniel and the dealership and hopefully they continue to provide the same customer service and experience to me in future and others always. Kudos!!

I bought my hyundai used car on 31st May 2017. It was broken down 2 weeks after and was towed. As it was still under warranty the dealership examined the car but didnt find out the problem. The car was broken twice thereafter and needed to be towed. Eventually my mechanic found out the transmission wss broken and needed to be replaced. I ended up replaced the transmission. The car was bought in may 2017 and the transmission was totally dead in Oct 2017 with 130000km. I phoned my sales rep, Eric Chu asking why the life span of the transmission is so short but what he can explain is car can break up any time. He promised to follow up for me with his manager. I called him on the next day and texted him several times but he didnt answer. He seemed trying to avoid me. I am extremely disappointed with Eric's service. I am very dissatisfied with Hyundai's quality. This is my 2nd Hyundai purchased from the same dealership but I'm losing my confidence in Hyundai that I will not purchase Hyundai again. I will not recommend Hyundai to my friends and family. They are losing my business!

I have not been overly happy with my experience trying to buy my first car with don Valley north hyundai has been nothing but a struggle with my new vehicle.

When I received my car within a few weeks a horrible wet dog smell started coming from my used car and was advised it was detailed, yet I had to go get it detailed from my car detail guy cause there was dog hair in my hinges and still on my seats. I spoke to a manager that gave me $100 credit to help with my issue of having to pay $135 to get it ready detailed. Then summer came. And this awful smell was coming from my a/c. At my first oil change I asked them to inspect the smell where they advised me I needed a new filter. So I got one!

I have just recently went for my second oil change a few weeks ago. To my suprise no one advised me that the inside of my tires was balding. When I called to speak to the service manager Kado he stated this was in no way part of there inspection to notice my tires and that I can come to show him my tires but basically this was probably just normal wear and tear on my vehicle.

I was so upset, disappointed with don Valley north hyundai. On Monday i arrived to speak with Kado and have a technician inspect my tires. I really thought it was going to be a fight and I was going to need to rip into Kado. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE! Kado acknowledged the issue and agreed that the last technician should have advised me. He was so nice and understanding that we worked out a great deal of gathering new tires and wow was I surprised at my deal to help rectify the situation. I could not yell, be upset or even try to argue with Kado as he was so understanding of my frustration, how could I rip into him as I thought I was going to.

After my visit with Kado I immediately felt that the situation would be rectified and no suprise it was.

I bought a 2016 Elantra GT from this location last week and my salesperon, Eric was phonomenal! This is not my first Hyundai, but it was by far the best experience I've had at a dealership. Eric was very helpful and friendly and extremely thorough. From the first meeting to the delivery of my car, Eric made me feel comfortable and well informed about my purchase. I have always been fair with feedback but I had e-mailed a letter to Jay Goldberg, General Manager, on September 7th, 2020 about my mechanical problem with my brand new, less than a year old Kona and my poor experience as a new Hyundai customer. Ignoring me is akin to not caring about my experience at all. When I called the North Hyundai auto dealership a gentleman name Eric Chu sales consultant answer the phone. I ask him about the car that I was interested and he was very knowledgeable about the vehicle. I asked Mr. Eric Chu that I was highly motivated to test drive the car and that my 5 year old daughter and I was going to the dealership on TTC. Mr. Chu said, "Don't need to take TTC", He said I will pick you up from where you are. WOW!!! Mr. Chu knew just what I wanted based on my interests. Furthermore, I told him that I did a consumer proposal and that I don't have any credit. Well, This is when the finance department team got involved with my case and they all put in so much time and effort for me to get approved with a financial institution. This was not only my best car buying experience, but the best retail experience I've ever had! Every single interaction I had with the people at Don Valley North Hyundai was a positive one. General Manager Jay Goldberg, and the staff that I dealt with; Amanda, Tigran, Garene, Sam and Lillian were all friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Every step of the process went smoothly and there was never even a hint of the "hard-sell" approach. The staff were all very patient during my decision-making process and no question I had went unanswered. On car pick-up day everything was in order, including all paper-work, new vehicle ownership, plates were transferred quickly from my trade-in to the new vehicle with protective covers, car-wash/detailing etc. Time was taken to go through many of the features in-car including setup of my iPhone to bluetooth and Apple CarPlay. I highly recommend anyone looking to purchase a new car to go to Don Valley North Hyundai!

My experience was outstanding. Was greeted with a friendly smile and directed to the appropriate person who was expecting me very promptly.
From there I was directed to a knowledgeable salesperson who completely answered all my questions without hesitation. The young lady in the
finance department was totally organized and efficient, also very
knowledgeable. At delivery time again was promptly greeted and
all the features were explained and demonstrated.
There were absolutely no issues of any kind with the people at

I went to the dealer in mid April, looking to use my vehicle as a trade in. In the end, i decided to cancel the deal and was told i would have my deposit refunded, and my original ownership mailed back to me. I received my deposit, but up until now, one month later have yet to receive my ownership! I have emailed the finance manager that took my original document and provided me with the copy, and she told me it was mailed to the address on my licence. After telling her that my mailing and residential address are the same, i asked if the mail was returned to them, she tells me "no". Would common sense not tell them that there is an issue that something mailed a month ago hasn't been received by the recipient?? Now i am stuck with a copy and don't know where to turn to get this solved because i am not comfortable with a copy of my document, nor am i pleased with the thought of paying to replace a document that I did not lose! Where is the customer service element in all of this?!?

I went in today for a check engine light and they tried their best to not do the warranty work even though I confirmed with them before if its covered under warranty or not and they said yes. Its not their first doing this to me, both my parents and I came here for a lot of problems on the car (3 different cars) and they always come up with different excuses to not do the warranty work and today they kicked me out and told me to never come back here because they only give service to their "guests". I really wouldnt recommend this dealer for any service or any warranty works as they are only nice when they wanna sell you a car.

Very bad experience book an appointment for a particular car at 11am I reached there on time waited for 40 min then a guy came and told me that the car was already sold out and said its not their mistake, 55km from my house to reach there for nothing worse Customer experience ever.

I went to DVNH to look at my options for financing a new (used) car. I spent hours there having all my questions answered (I had done some research and knew what car I wanted). Fayaz was so patient! He answered all my questions and helped me out in every way he could. After I was done with Fayaz, I met Lillian who was just as nice and informative! She gave me all the information I needed, answered my questions and went out of the way to set me up with something affordable and well covered! She even went the extra step to offer some financial advise. Would definitely go back or refer there! They made me comfortable and I didn t feel forced or mislead.

Although this was not my selling dealer, I fortunately decided to give Hyundai one more chance to satisfy my service expectations. I have endured over 1 1/2 years of poor (static) reception on the radio in my 2015 Sonata Ltd. Service advisor in my selling dealership does not have "a mechanic that works on radios". Another related dealership service advisor said " You may be out of range of the CN Tower"
Don Valley North Hyundai is very close to my home so I dropped by and spoke to Martin Lai. WOW !!!! Although very young, he is what we used to expect (and get) from a Service Advisor. Martin always has a smile, he treats every client as a personal friend. Martin is very knowledgeable about cars, and does a tremendous job in his follow up on service and service problems.
when I described my radio static problem, he actually LISTENED to me and came up with a possible cause and solution to this problem. We booked a service appointment and the technician found the problem ( a faulty rectifier) Now I can FINALLY enjoy listening to my radio for more than 10 minutes.
On a second note, later on the same day that my radio was repaired, my car indicated an overheating problem. This WAS NOT RELATED to the earlier problem. The AC stopped working and the warning lights indicated a severe overheating temperature. Since it cleared up BUT came back again, I drove back to DVN Hyundai. I did not have an appointment, but Martin got one of his techs to check it out. They did a very thorough check on the system but could not find any problems. Martin made some very good suggestions, and I can continue driving my car secure that I should be okay, but he also advised me as to how to handle the situation should it arise again.
Thank you Don Valley North Hyundai for hiring Martin to look after my Hyundai (and future Hyundai's )

I am Jeffin! I would like to describe my worst experience with Don valley north Hyudai. I booked a used car from here before a month but my credit doesn t got approved even though I have a full time Analyst job. They claim that I need a Canadian Citizen as cosigner, which I wont be able to provide. Then after 3 weeks of my application the salesman Jonathan Park asked me to apply for a new car and I applied for it. But still I didn t get any positive update on my application. Also last year when my friend took a car from here with me as the cosigner Jonathan assured me that I will be able to get a car from them with my friend itself as the cosigner. But now they are in a behaviour that it is not a matter of concern for them. Also I provided 3 other cosigners who are in a PGWP. Moreover, from the last 2 weeks I am asking my refund of the downpayment, but they are forcing me to wait. Also, they have done 6 credit checks with my credit application. I m worried about the way how it is going to affect me.By the mean time Even I don t got any calls from them regarding my status of application and every day I am contacting them. Is this they way to deal with a customer? In addition, I got approval from a different dealer with this same credit with an hour. So, from my personal experience don t even think about Don valley North Hyundai if you don t have a good credit because they dont have any good finance managers.

Talk about going above and beyond for your customers. In the past I have had such a terrible experience at dealerships trying to get a vehicle it was to the point I was just going to give up. However, I am so grateful I went to Don Valley North Hyundai. I had an amazing experience with my sales consultant Ash Mavandadi & financial service consultant Kunal Patel. They really listen to all the concerns I had as a first time buyer. They really made me feel as if I was apart of their family. They made sure to take the time to understand exactly what I needed in vehicle to match my lifestyle. I would highly recommend anyone to come here because it's a service you can trust. One star only because Kai was so polite with us and tried his best to help us. Just to start off, I want to say the last thing I d buy is a Hyundai car because most of them are garbage, but I was only there to help my sister pick her first ever car. The manager for the used cars department (don t remember his name that s how unimportant he was to me) was so full of himself and speaking to us as if we don t know anything about cars. He was basically convincing me not to buy the car we were interested in because we wanted to bargain the price which I know he probably couldn t do. But the way he was speaking and saying basically if we don t buy it he s still gona make money regardless. I was just so shocked to hear these words from a MANAGER because aren t they supposed to ...I don t know..SELL their cars to their clients? I was just laughing the whole time because he had no idea the amount of research I ve done before going there. To say the least, I ll never go back to that location thanks to the manager. Tried calling to book a service appointment and after several attempts was unable to speak with somebody. The only options were to book online or through the "chat" option. The dealership does not value the in-person customer experience.

I called another dealership and was instantly connected to a live adviser. After a very pleasant and informative conversation, I took my vehicle there.

My experience was excellent in your location. The representative who talked to me over the phone was extremely friendly and helpful. When I came to drop my car off, the service advisor was friendly, smiling, knowledgeable and professional.

Honestly, I found a huge difference when I compared your services to what happened to me when I visited the Hyundai dealership in Markham! I visited them to get some information about my car recalls. The service advisor over there was very aggressive and rude! He even refused to book me an appointment in his branch claiming that he was fully booked, and asked me to find another location!

I was suspicious when I visited your branch and I was expecting a similar outcome to the Hyundai dealership in Markham. But it was a completely different experience in your branch! I really appreciate your help and service! It was outstanding and beyond my expectations. I was able to catch up on my shift at work because I got my car on time after everything was fixed.

Bought a 2010 Santa Fe in June 2020. Just days after owning the vehicle, the check engine light came on. We called Fayaz to tell him about it and they said if it's driving ok we should keep driving it. They said that the check engine light came on because the car hasn't been driven for a while. The check engine light went off a few days later and stayed off for about a month or so. The check engine light came on a second time and stayed on longer, but it eventually went away.

2 days ago check engine light come on again, and suddenly the car lost power for about 2 seconds. I was turning left at an intersection and i was almost T-boned. This is DANGEROUS man, and now the check engine light is not going off.

I am due for an oil change, so i brought it to a mechanic that i know to have him do the oil. Told him about the check engine light coming on and going off, so he decided to scan the car. DTC Code P0014 engine timing issue came up on the scanner. The mechanic said that the engine sensor was also changed, so whoever changed the sensor knew about the problem. He also said that the timing issue is VERY BAD and was happening LONG BEFORE i bought the car.

So Don Valley North Hyundai knowingly sold me a car that has a engine timing problem and changed the sensor without actually fixing the problem. I Told them about the check engine light coming on, they said keep driving it. Then I almost got T-boned at an intersection. Am calling CP24 and CTV News about this.

From the first conversation I had with her at the auto show and throughout the entire process, she was always there to answer any of my questions. Not only was I impressed with the G70 2.0T Prestige AWD I recently picked up - the car in itself is sensational - but anyone looking to buy a luxury sedan, should seriously consider it a strong competitor to the German and Japanese lineups, especially with all the features Genesis is providing. Trust me on this, because I've driven Audi for half my life. With the level of service Trisha has provided, I know that without any doubt, I made the right choice. I just can't say enough about her, the brand, and the team there.

I have grown up and worked in the auto industry my entire life and I have never had such a great experience as I did at DVNH. It was my first time purchasing a car from a dealer and not only did Lillian make the process stress free but there was also ZERO pressure of any kind and I never felt like I was being "sold" into buying anything.

There was a delay in the window tinting and Lillian worked with the sales manager to get me a dealer car for 3 days so I wouldn't have to get a ride from a friend. She was also wonderful including two different friends I brought in the sales process and even remembered both of their names!

I went to the body shop today to replace my back bumper. My appointment was at 12.00 pm but I got there around 11.40 am. There was a lady by the name Victoria, she took my key and right away assigned two people to work on where It supposed to be one. Instead of 45 minutes they have finished within 30 minutes. I was very impressed by the service. Victoria was very nice and helpful. If I need to do anything in future I will go there. Thanks Victoria!!

I have been to Scarborough Hyundai couple of days back. Had 0% satisfaction from their service department and customer service. But when I went to Don Valley North, the experience was totally opposite! I could not expect anything better than this. Love it! The service representative Carsen was very very very helpful! I had an engine light on my dash. He said he will get it checked for me, but might take couple of hours. However, he was nice enough to find me a slot and my car was diagnosed within 30 minutes. He was honest. Told me that the service will be free as it falls within my extended warranty package. Just because of his attitude I have decided to give all my business to this Hyundai facility going forward. I am also planning to buy winter tires from em now. ^_^ Little attitude adjustment, honesty and manner takes you far. They are the perfect example of it.

If I could give 0 starts I would. My wife and I wanted to lease a Kona, we have come to Canada a year ago and wanted to get a car now. We were assured that our temporary residence status would not be an issue with the application, promised we would get the car 4 days after test driver and singing contract (lease application), 2 days go by no information where is the application going. We start to arrange insurance for the car as it is only 2 days before pick up. Then suddenly comes an email that don't get insurance yet. No other information. After calling and emailing for 2 days finally we get information that they are "trying their best" talking with the finance department, because of our temporary resident status they have some concerns. We implied from the beginning that we do not wan't to go through the process if there is a chance that it won't go through because of our status in Canada and were assured there would be no such issue, as our income and credit scores are high. Ultimately they did a credit check, hurt our score and we did not get a car because of it.

Patrick Hu - good adviser who have deep knowledge in products, and good person who take care customer exceed salesman's scope.
Thomas Cheng - manager provide deep technical advise, and believe effectively Disciplining his staff in respectful way.
The reception is helpful and respond quickly, and service and part staff community and handle mutli-task efficiency.

What's worse I went at a later date to them. Since the client doesn't matter for them I'll explain shortly my experiences.
First I have been served by Cherusan, the experience is down bellow.
The second experience I was misquoted for a air filter replacement, beint told it's only 10 dollars my friend. And I had a refusal for a warranty claim. The second time I have been "served" by Brandon.

This review is mostly about the service provided by Don Valley North Hyundai. My experience with sales team was short and unsuccessful so probably I will be biased on that direction.
Before I begin my review I should mention that I own a plug-in hybrid and the only reason why I opted to do my service with a dealership is the hope that they will know what is best for my car. If I knew the kind of services I would get, my mechanic should have done a better and much cheaper job.
As I said I thought being a Hyundai dealership will follow the requested schedule for my car. I also expected at some sales pitch because I know there is a good margin in maintenance.
My disappointment happened when I went for the 24000 km visit and they asked me over 400 dollars before taxes for that visit. When I asked for the services to be explained I realised that they are following the same pattern for every model of car (probably they will ask even for a full electric to have the oil changed). They offered me to resurface the rotors and disk brakes. My car is partially electric and it uses most of the time regenerative breaking so at 24k the disks are barely used. When I mentioned that to my advisor he said "that's the standard". After some back and forth I made the bill at half price. When I had to pick up the car I realised that they "forgot" to apply a promotion for a 360 car inspection and the bill was higher.
After this happened I decided to check better the service history and that was the moment when I saw that all that the dealership has done was to change the oil for the car without even taking a peak at the electric system.
At 18k the maintenance manual requires a Engine clutch actuator fluid change. It hasn't been done but funny is that nobody in the dealership knew that it's mandatory. After another 10 minutes of back and forth a guy came and told me that should be done at 90k and should be done earlier "if I live in California".
Hyundai is very slow in answering any emails about service and also very evasive in answering questions. When you check the dealer you should do your homework very clear otherwise they will charge you and arm and a leg for something that doesn't even exist on your car.
After doing all my services at the dealership I mange to learn that the "engineer" which Hyundai claims is special for my car doesn't exist and my car got serviced with some basics stuff for 3 times the price. Now I am very concerned about the maintenance of my car which was neglected and the safety of my family.

Very bad experience with their service. Unbelieveable! Being an old customer where my family owns five Hyundai cars /SUV's. Will not give anymore business to them. Will be switching to another brand next year. They made me wait six hours to get my recall service done. Just because I don't pay anything for my recall, they kept me the last one to pick up my car even though I went in @ 1pm to leave my car and didn't get back until 7pm. The reason was there was no shuttle car for me. They didn't even bother to call me to let me know . I have to keep calling them five time s and got a run about with no call bacsk even when I left a message for the advisor to call me back. Extremely bad service!!!!!
