Good institute for technology, nice campus well maintained

One of the earliest Central govt engineering colleges (then called Regional Engineering College), Trichy started in 1964 ( first batch came out in 1969) earned a place for itself as the much sought after institution in India. The first Principal Prof Manisundaram was a visionary and developed the vast area available as an institution of excellence. The hostels were named after precious stones like Agate, Coral etc.. It leveraged the Industry around like BHEL to start industry oriented PG programs with even UNESCO aid !. I had the privilege of being student in the first batch of PG program. It had excellent Library covering wide range of books and magazines in all branches of engineering, good hostels and well equipped labs and workshops. naturally it attracted brilliant teaching staff as well. I am sure it continues with its glorious start.

NIT Trichy is topped among NITs. Its academics, research, and placement are algo very good. If anyone does not get top five IIT then go for NIT Trichy.

NIT Trichy is a very interesting college with lots of opportunities. The campus is very big and equipped. Teaching is average and there are a lot of extra activities in which students are involved. The hostel mess serves food which can be consumed by humans.

It's one of the top institute in country.It has great facilities and one need to clear jee exam to join here.

Boys hostels at nit trichy are very big spacious and with all facilities in an environmental friendly location total complex is clean and green. Inside the campus especially for fresher's needs new bicycle, foam bed pillow, plastic bucket, mug are available in open exhibition shopping. Good departmental stores like our spencers. Town ship is clean and green plantation. Good Hospital. Sports complex indoor games shuttle table tennis, kabaddi. well equipped jim and swimming pool. Delicious food Fruits and juice available at dimora hotel and juice centre.

Advantages:
# no motorbike zone makes less noise and less pollution.
# College avenue road with trees and greeneries.
# Has many key infrastructures.
# Active Students community.
# Many cultural activities.
# Best quality education.
# Peacock, birds, butterflies, cow, horse, dogs flowers and complete ecosystem.

Disadvantages:
# Trees and shades in the front only. If u need to go hostel which will be between 0.5 km to 1.7 km distance in which you won't have any shade. You will be fried by sun.
# Hostel water filters are not working properly, i had a doubt wether they give sea water for drinking or purified water.
# You have occupied the place of snakes and scorpion so don't disturb them. Don't freak out if u saw a snake. Its casual thing in this campus. Especially near MEGAMESS & LAPIS HOSTEL.

As you know that it is the top university in India so you think that it is a place like heaven. But according to me when first came here I also think same as you but after joining I found that according to infrastructure this Institute is not quite good. But on the other hand for learning and placement purpose this is at the top of all other national Institute. So if you are a desperate student for studying so this is the best institute at national level for you. The food year is not quite good but after joining and after sometime you will be used to. the primary think of life is education so you have to manage certain things here to because our main focus is education not other things. During your academic session you will get to know that there are various sports and extra curricular activities take parts to developed you overall. And it also encourages you to work as a part of a team and group. Apart from this there are also so many inter and intra department too. So overall from my point of you this is the best institute at national level for you.

Good placement for b.tech and m.tevh students. Good facilities

NIT, were popular across the country india ,more over NIT Trichy is the top and followed by warangal etc.the best place to study and having a bright future students were consider IIT& NIT . The campus was so massive of land that takes your time from going one place to another , the workshops were conducted recently by WAC it was good and the most of the students were showed intrest, as thier were some problems in the dormitories of boys hostel. But still the food and other quality of things were upto the mark and it's best experience to visit here.

I am an Alumni of this institute. I recently visited this place for a meeting with Alumni (20 years after we joined the college).

The college has seen tremendous improvement compared how it was when we studied here.

There are so many new buildings and a big shuffle in the department buildings. All the classrooms have been shifted from the departments to a common lecture hall complex.

The number is hostels almost doubled. We visited the hostels where we stayed. All of them have tiles everywhere. So, in general it looked clean and neat compared to how it was 16 years back. There is a property cycle stand for each hostel and a motor air pump in the cycle stand. Some of the hostels even have a cycle repair shop. The TV rooms are now air conditioned . The bathrooms now have a geyser and washing machine. There are petty shops near most hostels for quick snacks and other academic needs (Xerox, stationary, etc)

The hostel messes are now outsourced and the quality of food seems to be better than what we used to get.

There is a 24x7 cafe coffee day inside the campus near the sports complex. The number is shops in the shipping complex have doubled.

All the roads in the campus are in good condition. A separate path for pedestrians is there along the roads in many places.

Overall, happy to see the progress from 2002 to 2016

NIT national institute of technology one the best college in Tamil Nadu as well as in india

I have done my Masters along with my job at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited. It is a secluded and a massive campus and can be lonely who come here from far off areas. Although I did not like the courses and faculties but NIT Trichy more than makes up for it in their various efforts to expand the infrastructure, glamorized events, bringing in 24x7 Cafe Coffee Day, placements, etc.
In the past 10 years the college has seen tremendous increase in infrastructure, thanks to the huge funding from government. Many new buildings have sprung up and life at NITT has seen a shift from what I had seen.
The students gets lots of time to think about their future course of action. Many NITTians are good athletes and during evening many indulge in sports activities.
Overall, it is worth coming to NITT !!

The best at NIT Trichy is overall development of students with importance given to curricular, co curricular and extracurricular activities. Academic Reforms with flexible and industry oriented curriculum ,flipped and virtual class rooms, state of art research facilities and introduction of major and minor subjects have brought NIT Trichy to the top of the list among other NITs. Meritorious students are encouraged to go for Honours degree and not brilliant students are evaluated by Formative Assessment . Students get well placed due to industry networking.Campus has thousands of birds . Weather is hot always.Student Council plays major role in administration of Institute and Hostels. More than 75% of 26000 alumni with many among them occupying Distinguished positions brought up the image further.Ther are large number of sports grounds.Opal Complex housing five girls hostels have many in house facilities. Issues common to all NITs are also there at Trichy perhaps at a lower level.

One among the Best NIT trichy , world class education , carried out good research works

I have spent a lot of time here more than 6 years. I have completed my M.Tech and later PhD from NIT Trichy.
I have seen a lot of changes the campus gone over these few years.
When I joined in 2010 for M Tech there were lot of issues like roads were not good, infrastructure was not enough.
We have stayed 3 person in a room which is meant for 2 students.
Few of my friends stayed whole semester in common room.
Those were bad times from electricity point of view.
There was so frequent power cuts that most of my friends will be awake up to 2am or 3 am.
Dr. Sundarrajan joined as director and much has changed.
Infrastructure got improved.
Over the years there is a lot much improvement in green cover in NIT but there not seem to be enough commitment from administration.
Sports facilities are ok in few cases like badminton court, volleyball court, basketball and tennis courts but worst facilities like Gym.
Mess food is OK but due to lack of interest from students it's not up to the mark.
Many students use bicycles is great news but bad news is many cycles were abandoned and lied unused for longer time to finally become useless.
NIT Trichy is known for placement and many students come here to get just placed (especially MTech students)
Because of its Alumni NIT Trichy have great name in the list of technical institutes.
It's very good to see institute taken tree plantation drive on larger scale. Hundreds of trees are being planted during this rainy season of 2018. Campus is slowly looking more and more green. Hope in coming years our campus will be the greenest place in Trichy.
Also recently biogas plant has been constructed behind mega mess 2 which will use food and vegetable waste and convert it into fuel for cooking and manure.
