Yeah it's a good college with a lot of facilities. Since it a place where students get admitted from all over the world, the atmosphere, food and activities will be slightly deviated from your normal life style. Do not come here with a lot of expections. I mean come here, have fun and experience the world here as it comes.

As a first year I regret the faculties but the seniors say that you'll start appreciating it when you come to the final year and we do have some senior faculties teaching us and we can see clearly in them what our seniors say so I hope this continues till my fourth year in the college and yes being a guy from north India I do not like the south Indian mess food too much but we do have north Indian mess which is okay and there are many times when you'll face language barrier if you don't know Tamil

Seriously if any of you even had a little conscience you would not rate NIT more than 1. Really you want others to suffer too?
Firstly, Professors suck. They don't let you learn anything. Questions are asked directly from class notes. If you try to understand a subject you'll end up as a 6 pointer. Horrible campus. If you are interested in learning something, NIT is not for you. If you want to party, NIT is not for you. Also Professors have limitless power over your marks. Professors also have inferiority complex. It's not a college at all.

One of the topmost educational institutions in the country. It offers around 10 branches in B.Tech. It also offers other degrees like B.Arch., M.Tech, MCA, MSC and PhD. There are around 5000 students altogether, coming from different parts of the country. There are a number of technical and interest clubs that help students gain exposure, build their skills and pursue their interests.
Although there are a few administration issues, NIT Trichy is a good choice for the JEE aspirants.

Worst ever among NIT's I have seen and experience. NIT Trichy is the worst one.Because so much partiality to tamilians.If any non locallite attempts well in exam or does interview well. They won't even consider us.They always want their Tamil to survive or achieve in their institution...

I have stayed here for 3 years. Its a great place, We have got WiFi, air conditioning and water coolers in the past years.

At the beginning 1964 Institute was called as REC (Regional Engineering College) after years going around 2004 onwards called as NIT Trichy.
Its because of 40 years collaboration between center and state government for all REC are upgraded into NIT
