Dogtown (Uptown location) is a GREAT place. I've been taking my dog, Apollo there for 3.5 years and I've never had any issue. I always experience excellent customer service and professionalism from all staff members. I want to give a special shout out to Nick for his caring demeanor and for developing a special bond with Apollo. Much appreciated!

I've had a good experience with Dog Town. It's incredibly convenient, and it wears out my high-energy dog. Staff is friendly and, from what I've seen on the webcams, they are attentive. They take extra care to make sure everything is clean. I really like that I can just drop off my dog whenever without having to schedule an appointment. It makes me happy to see her having fun and playing with other dogs while I'm at work!

My only concern is that my dog is always very thirsty when she comes home. From what I can see, there's only one water bowl in each room and I've seen her (via webcam) go to the bowl and turn away because there's nothing in it. Not worth deducting a star, but thought it was worth mentioning.

Thank you, Dog Town, for providing a great service!

This business proves that customer service is a thing of the past. My dog failed her temperament evaluation today after being there for over four hours yet the incident was not allowed to be shown to me or explained in detail at all. I understandably wanted to know what exactly happened and why. Employees were instead rude, uninformative, hasty and seemingly incompetent.

If you and your dogs want to to be treated with empathy and respect, do not take them here. Think twice about where you are spending your money! See my Facebook or Yelp review for further details.

Simply put, Dogtown is unprofessional and overcrowded, doesn't appear to be monitored by trained professionals, has poor customer service and a severe lack of interpersonal skills.

I (and probably more importantly my dog) love Dogtown Cincinnati (Uptown)! The staff takes so much care of my dog and she loves being able to run all day. They pay special attention to each pet's needs and it's honestly such a relief to drop my dog off somewhere I can check in on her via webcam, but know she loves the place so much I don't really worry! They have great grooming on-site and their staff is incredibly sweet. Especially during this pandemic, they have kept smiles on their faces and haven't skipped a beat in customer service. We love Dogtown!

I live close by and have them Trim my dogs nails/claws. They only charge $8.00, which is a great value! The staff I've had the pleasure of dealing with was very friendly, and polite. They do a great job on the nail grooming and I've made this my regular stop. As for "Dog-sitting".... They are understaffed for the amount of dogs they have on hand at any given time, Last time I was in there for a nail trim there were only 2 young (high school or early college) girls working and I saw more than 50 dogs. I also witnessed small dogs in a common area with very large breeds. One of those big dogs is capable of killing a Yorkie or a Shelty before the Girls working could get there to break up a dog fight, and common sense and experience with dogs tells me that with 50 dogs there are bound to be a few with behavior problems and possibly a few aggressive breeds. If you have a small breed or a dogs that can't fend for themselves this is not the place to drop them off and go to work, or vacation, or wherever. If you have a Big dog that's capable of taking care of itself this place is great! The Staff I've talked to are true blue dog lovers and they play with and engauge the dogs, they don't just lock them in a pen and forget about them until you return, they have them out and keep them active! Great for me and my Great Dane! He loves to go there, I say the word "dogtown" and he is ready to go, and happier than two mice humpin' in a wool sock

Live Webcams to keep an eye on our dog for the day and staff that truly take pleasure in taking care of our pet make this a great doggy day care. If we decide to have a spontaneous date night, we can drop her off with no notice for a couple of hours and bring her home afterwards. Very convenient

Took my dogs in for evaluation and grooming. They came home very tired, but the grooming (while good) didn't impress me for my very fluffy dog. He was still shedding pretty hard afterward. The webcams are awesome, but very distracting.

I was in the area on a business trip and had a late dinner meeting which is why I chose Dogtown.
My dog is a small Chihuahua and was assured that he would be kept with toy breeds only.
Well during the course of the evening, I logged into their web cams and saw that he was not with toy breeds, he was mixed in with larger dogs. First strike against them.

I picked up my dog later that night and once I returned to my hotel room I noticed a gash in his rear leg, it was bad, but not panic I need to take him to the vet right now bad, but it was an obvious injury that bleed out. This was strike two.

As I said, my dog is a small Chihuahua and I know that he would have let out a loud yelp when receiving this injury. I was not told a single thing about the incident when I picked up my dog. If they tell me that they didn't hear anything then that tells me that they weren't being properly supervised. Is somebody was in fact supervising, then they purposely hid this information from me when I picked up my dog. That is strike three.

I will be returning to Cincinnati for a second business trip and will be bringing my dog along, but there is no way in hell I'll let him stay in this establishment again.

I do not appreciate being lied to or injuries to my animal being hid from me. If you need to board your dog for a few hours, take my word for it, skip this place. It's way overcrowded, understaffed, and they will try to hid any injuries your dog receives, just read some of the other reviews to see that I'm not the only one that has had this experience.

Took my very clingy dog here to socialize with other dogs. I wasn't sure that he was enjoying it because he would try to hide when I was dropping him off. Then one day he just let the caretaker take his leash and walked her right to the door. It felt like that moment when the kid doesn't think you're cool enough to say bye to in front of his friends. That's the day that I realized my clingy dog was finally socializing.

My dog Gus has been going to Dogtown for 6 years now started as a puppy. He s always been a shy/scared of people kind of dog. But every time we pull up, his tail is wagging. It makes me feel at ease leaving him there. The staff has always been fantastic. Some of the folks like Nick have been there since he was a baby and he loves to see him! I recommend Dogtown to all my friends and family. The staff is fantastic, and I know my Gus Gus is happy when he s there.

I took my Australian Shepherd to Puppywood for a year without a single issue. Unfortunately, with moving this was more of a convenience. I picked up my dog from daycare with a red swollen eye that resulted in a $200 vet visit. After reaching out to Dogtown for the issue, I was told by a manager that "no offense, but scratches happen," but apparently the handlers aren't in the room to avoid rough play that the vet said I was lucky the scratch didn't lead to removal of the eye but was a close call. Dropped her off for a evening stay on the weekend which I thought would be like her normal daycare free roam, but find her on the camera in a small room with 20+ dogs, no handler and my dog barking continuously with no water. "No offense," but it takes one dog to get territorial over a bed and snap on a dog in a room, where the handler is "watching" from the front desk on a camera. I would rather drive from downtown to Puppywood in Anderson and back downtown for work everyday than having the ease of convenience with poor professionalism and poor care of my pup like this.

We have been taking our dogs to Dogtown for more t...

We have been taking our dogs to Dogtown for more than 5 years. With that said, we just used them for boarding and I was very displeased with the care. After 9 days of boarding, my dog came home painfully thin. She s a 12.5 lb dachshund and lost 2+ pounds while she was there (weighed 9.8 pounds when we weighed her the day we got back). You can literally see her ribs and spine. She has also been vomiting all of her food. The facility was pretty flippant about my concerns, and said she ate all of her food and did not experience vomiting while there. They also said they ran out of the food we brought and had to give her "house food". I know for a fact my husband counted out 14 days worth of food (and we were only gone 9), so I'm not sure what the issue was. Regardless, I would have expected them to call if they ran out of food and to have taken my concerns about her weight seriously. In addition to this incident, they said my other dog ran out of his anxiety medication two days prior to us picking him up (again we counted the number of pills prior to dropping him off, so they must have doubled up doses on a couple days). Again, no call and they did not seem concerned about it when we discussed it at pick up. Ultimately, I would never trust Dogtown with boarding again.

We took our dog in for an assessment recently and he was there for 4 hours. We thought the service was okay so we brought him back for daycare for a full day.

He is fairly small, around 12 pounds, and is much smaller than most larger breeds. He has anxiety in some occasions and we were promised excellent care and that he would be separated from larger dogs, go outside twice a day (weather permitting), have time to go to the bathroom, etc.

What we received was the opposite of that. He was left alone all day, not taken outside, left with larger dogs (who we saw on the webcam were harassing him the majority of the day). In the 9 hours he was there, he stayed in the same spot the entire time. He never went outside, wasn t taken to the bathroom, at all and we could tell he was not being watched over.

We know it s a big facility with plenty of dogs so we know it s unreasonable to expect individual care and attention all day, but cmon.

When we arrived to pick him up, the person working the front desk dismissed all of our concerns and made us seem uninformed and unintelligent. The space itself is dirty and unkept and smells like a zoo.

We had heard great things about Dogtown prior to going but we won t be coming back. The service is unprofessional and I would not recommend it.

I too, took a sweet 1 year old dog here to stay a couple of nights. The owner actually said my dog didn't want to get out of bed in the morning, so she had to force her. The next time, we went in, she was shivering and running to the door to leave. I haven't been able to have her stay somewhere since, and needless to say, I've never taken her back. There is a mean pit bull she's terrified of at our dog park, and he goes there for daycare. That says a lot.

I scheduled an appointment here and when I went the next day - an employee said they canceled it because they do not do cats and the Anderson location was the only one who did (they were booked). We took our cats to Anderson the following week and they did a horrible job and that location said they dont really do cats, the burnet location is cattown?!? Really very unprofessional place - DO NOT TAKE YOUR CATS here. Maybe their dog services are better.

My dog Rosie just loves Dogtown. She s a rescue dog who was shy and afraid of humans when I got her but she loves dogs. I decided to take her to Dogtown once a week so she can socialize with other dogs as well as get used to being handled by humans. She spent the first 2 days observing and trying to avoid staff. I m happy to say Rosie has joined the pack and loves Tuesdays at Dogtown Cincinnati. I love the webcams! The Dogtown staff are wonderful. They know each dog by name and know how to handle dogs properly. I highly recommend them!

I don't think it is possible for the staff to care for the number of dogs they take in. My dog is the friendliest pit-bull in town and she was scared and stressed when she came out of this place after one day AND she had red inflamed paw pads which she licked for a day afterward. There should be a 20 to 1 limit on dog to person and dogs should be given a rest during the day. I won't go again.

Updated Review. This business has changed.

Updated Review. This business has changed.
Formerly over the moon for this place. My two dogs and I moved to PA six months ago. When I said goodbye, they told me they would send me a check for my unused prepaid boarding and daycare packages. A few months later, I called and spoke with one of my favorite employees who was so sorry, and promised that the check would go out within a couple of days. Fast forward another few months and I am told: 1. That employee is gone, 2. Prepaid fees are not reimbursable (which is directly contrary to what I was told when I purchased the last package, knowing I was interviewing out of state) and 3. Someone would call me back. No one did. Disappointed. Beware of a financial commitment to this company.

Former Review:
Sam and Bella have been going for about three months now. In the morning I say who wants to go to camp? and they do a happy dance. They love it. I love that the staff knows me and them, the video lets me see them when I am out of town, and I see staff cleaning up after all the friends immediately after you know what. I d like to see more of the staff on video interact with the dogs rather than with their cell phones, but that said, after boarding one time, a staff member showed me a ton of pictures of her sleeping in a dog pile, with my little ones cuddled up against her, fast asleep. What s that worth? Lots.

Our dog was attacked on her last visit to Dogtown....

Our dog was attacked on her last visit to Dogtown. When we picked her up, she had a two inch gash on the inside of her ear and dried blood caked down the side of her face. It was very clear that the staff was unaware of the attack and had taken no measures to clean or disinfect the wound. I realize that dogs will scuffle from time to time, but it's the boarding establishment's responsibility to handle the matter professionally. Dogtown failed miserably in this regard.

We had to bring our dog to the vet first thing in the morning and they warned us that she could have lost her ear if the wound had been allowed to stay as dirty as it was for any longer. When we called Dogtown, we were fed a bunch of lies. They never called to find out what happened at the vet, nor did they seem to care about the hundreds of dollars that we were forced to spend at the vet because they had failed to properly address the situation at the time of the incident.

After two years as a very loyal customer (boarding 20+ times per year), I no longer feel comfortable bringing my dog to this establishment. Ever since the owner (Megan) stepped away from the day to day operations, this place has gone downhill in a hurry. Hopefully Dogtown is able to figure out what has gone wrong and take some corrective actions to re-establish themselves as the premier 24 hour boarding center in Cincinnati. As a long time customer, I wish them nothing but the best, but I will not be risking Sammie's safety by boarding her with them anytime soon.

My dog loves this place! There are multiple play rooms that your dog could be placed in based off of temperament, energy levels, and/or age. I have a greyhound who doesn t do wonderfully on their tile floors so they keep him up front where he can greet people! It s so nice to be able to see what he is up to via their puppy cams! Only complaint is that he comes back smelling like the other dogs... but that just comes with the territory.

Before I decided to take my dog here, I read some ...

Before I decided to take my dog here, I read some positive and some negative reviews - I decided to give them a shot anyways. I'll start out by saying the hours and location are super convenient. I'll even go as far as to say that most of the staff is friendly and genuinely want to take care of the dogs. The problem is that they take on too many dogs and don't have enough staff to manage them all. As a result, fights break out - which happens when you cram a whole bunch of dogs and personalities into a tight space. Even that isn't the end of the world - it's the fact that they're so oblivious to the fights or when you confront them about it, they make up stories or just flat out lie.

I finally reached a point where after 3 consecutive visits my Great Dane had chunks of flesh missing that I had to stop. The first visit, he came back with a gash in his leg - not a big deal since it happens in normal play. The second visit, he was returned to me with a paw covered in dried blood. Finally, the third visit he was boarded for two nights and he had a deep gash the size of a silver dollar on his hindquarters. So deep in fact that after 6 months of healing he still does not grow fur there. The staff's response was that he "had a blister that popped".

Basically, if you want a place to take your dog that you can be 100% confident your pet's well being is top priority you should look elsewhere. Only two stars because of the hours.

I've taken my dog here at least once a week for over a year and love it, and my dog loves it too-- she runs to the entrance whenever we visit. I like that my dog gets to stay active and socialize with other dogs instead of being cooped up in a kennel or alone in our house. As a big bonus, you can tell the staff all really, really love dogs! That, plus the fact that when you first bring your dog for daycare or boarding, it has to go through a trial period to make sure it's temperamentally suited for the whole free-range daycare thing, make me feel very comfortable and happy with Dogtown.

Dogtown is like family to my pup and I. After sending my pup there for several years I couldn't imagine life without them. Kaylyn is always professional and consistent while also being compassionate. She keeps track of us better than I can and often knows my dog better than me. She goes above and beyond to accommodate our every need. Lyndsy is a breath of fresh air! Shout-out to Kaylyn and Nick for ALWAYS being so nice to not only my dog, but myself. They always ask me how I am, and also how my baby is doing. At all hours of the day, we can hear the dogs barking, sounding distressed. I've heard dogs fighting from three streets away, where I live. It is upsetting, and sounds overcrowded. This place has been a God send for us. My dog Luke is a rescue, & has had a slow go of it with socialization, both with other dogs & with people. They have web cams where you can check on the pups. I left on a business trip today & connected to check on Luke around 230 pm. I just happened to catch the caregiver (they do their best to always have a person with the dogs 24/7) loving on Luke & him seeking attention from her. This absolutely warmed my heart to see her loving on him & him eating up the attention. Thank you for taking such loving care of my boy!!

I will never bring my dog here again. Hope went from being super gentle and friendly to other dogs to being terrified of other dogs. She starts quivering and looking around as though she's being hunted as soon as we turn onto Reading, with Dogtown still out of sight. They told me my dog had worms (which she did not) and that they had seen them the night before After taking her back into the playroom. 1. No she didn't. Everything checked out clean at the vet. Banfield workers was shocked I was even asking since I have her on just about every preventative. 2. Why would you let a dog you know has worms (mistakenly or otherwise) come into the facility to infect the other dogs? 3. Why did I not get informed IMMEDIATELY about her supposed illness? This demanded a phone call ASAP, and they did not alert me until the next time I dropped her off. I have seen them scream and yell at the dogs. The acoustical structure of the rooms amplifies dog barking and yelling so it is difficult to hear. I can only imagine it reminds my rescue of the shelter. Finally, today I picked her up and she had blood on her paw. I was about to ask what on earth happened, but then, I see a dog next to her bleeding from his ear and spilling blood on the other dogs around him. The entire left side of his face was covered in blood, and nothing was being done about it. Again, a very sick dog in with the rest of the healthy dogs. When I asked the manager on duty if she knew the dog was covered in blood, she said, "it's from his ear." Then she yelled at him to get him away from the other dogs (which was useless because there are no dividers) "you're getting your blood all over the other dogs." You're going to yell at the injured dog for that? OK, be kennel free, but have Some for emergencies. Why would you put a bleeding dog in even more danger by having him run around with other dogs losing blood and risking more tearing? Poor pup. The least of my complaints is that the facility is absolutely filthy. I cannot justify recommending Dogtown to anyone.
