The rooms are not very clean beds are small. Not worth the price. There are cleaner hotels around this area. Between the hotel resort charges and the $45 valet charge this I ended up paying $300 plus per night before taxes. This place is not worth this kind of money.

This hotel is a vacation in itself! The rooms are beautiful, spacious, clean and fresh. I'd rather stay here any day over any hotel in South Beach. The beachfront rooms have balcony's overlooking the gorgeously lit swimming pool and the ocean. It really doesn't get much better than this. The hotel also houses several restaurants which are also very good and very highly recommended.

Not impressed to put it lightly. Checked in at 4pm on a Sunday and had to wait over an hour and a half to get a room. Had to get back in line and complain before they gave me a room. They gave me a room told me I was upgraded for my wait. Got to the room, opened the door and there was already someone in the room. I went back down to the front desk to complain and was told by some bystanders that I was not the only person that happened to. They reassigned a room got up there and was not at all what I asked for when I booked the room. Long wait to check in, total chaos and confusion at the front desk, didn't get the room I asked for during booking, and everything in this building is totally over priced. The only way I would ever stay here is if there were a work function in this hotel and I had no choice.

Excellent hotel and resort. High end furnishings with a modern touch. Great pool and sundeck, including a small splash area for kids. Nice selection of restaurants: steakhouse, sushi, seafood, and a cocktail lounge with karaoke. Nescafe Espresso pods in the room. Gratuity is included in all meals/drinks, but unlike some other sneaky places, every waiter or bartender will clearly point this out to you.

Worst experience, worst service, you are crazy is you stay in this dump. The staff could not be worse. The hotel is run down... The room was dirty. Anyone who wrote something positive must own a time share at this hotel and is looking to boost the value of this worthless hotel.

Room was decent, location was ok, but my entire stay was ruined when I went to checkout only to find unauthorized charges on my account. I immediately asked about the charges and they were removed, but without any explanation for the extra charges or a real apology. I can't help but wonder just how many people have not checked their bills properly and paid for extra charges? I wouldn't recommend this hotel...try the Hilton or conrad in ft. Lauderdale instead

We stayed over for a few days and just to say. We are very sad with the overall experience. This was our family favorite spot for years and everything has changed for the worse with the change of ownership. Before this was an awesome place to stay with amazing people that will greet you an actually made you feel welcome to the hotel. Now people are very rude front the reception to the actual security that by the way make you feel very uncomfortable. No ones knows what's going on here if you need towels for the pool they send you to the reception area and they send you somewhere else to then after 30 minutes tell you they don't have. You need wristband to go to the pool. We had a dinner the night before so we needed to take them out. Next day they made our life impossible telling us they had already given us bands like we were not guests and we're trying to sneak in the pool. Front desk takes multiple call to answer the phone and when they do they are plain mean. No ones even tries to help. Save your money and take your family somewhere else. Again it's very sad. This was our favorite hotel in Florida.

It s a huge, very nice resort. We left just a day after the crowed arrived (x-mas), so we had the beach, pool, lobby etc. almost for ourselves, all week long and that week was awesome (after...neh, but did not matter, since we left).
Sushi, aka Monkeytail Restaurant was THE BEST! You gotta try it. Tip, they do take away the first hour.
Staff was friendly. Be aware, they include gratitude (22%!?!), which is a annoying, as well as the very pricy store, coffee shop, restaurants they have. Other nice locations are close buy, as well a big supermarket.
And lastly, go and look at the beautiful sunrise, awesome location for that!!

As I sit here waiting almost two hours for a request to be filled, my experiences here have been bittersweet. My first day here, I made a request in person and in lobby. I was told that I would receive what I asked but an hour or so later was told every thing was closed. Irritated but ok, I knew I would address. Today (3rd day) we are back at the wait game again. It's late. I've called to front desk (as this request was also made in person). I was told someone was on the way...again nothing. I must say, this place will not be on my must use for business conferences ever. I will be so glad when this one is over so I can go home. How is something so beautiful so trifling as well?

Excellent for both leisure and business. Hotel provides great bang for your buck. Right on the beach excellent parking plenty of shoppers and restaurants. Convention halls are sizeable and well maintained. Polite staff and excellent trade show labor. Highly recommended!!

This is a nice place. They gratuity everything which leaves you as a consumer in an unusual situation most of the time. The service in the restaurants is mediocre at best. We ended up hitting the store and not stopped eating there.

My wife and I stayed here for a conference and were blown away with how beautiful the hotel and rooms were. Great views, even without oceanfront rooms of the intercostal and surrounding areas. Excellent dining, and relaxing pool/beach areas. We were fortunate to have come here for a conference but The Diplomat would make a great choice for a weekend getaway!

One thing of note, don t expect great service from any of the Playa staff. None of them seemed happy to be there at all and at one point completely forgot our food order for over an hour!

Nice resort. Like many venue's like this, overpriced for what you get. Nice pools and beach. Staff generally friendly and competent. One strange thing about the fitness facility. They don't keep the towels stocked and seem reluctant to stock them when asked. One of the attendees said that they were out of towels but we're told not to use any new ones.

Poor service no customer service. And the worst is that you can t have visitor and they can t used the pool or the beach. Never again will stay there. That hotel was the best until Hilton bought it in 2014. So manny rules

Nice hotel great location. My only complaints were of room quality. Very few towels and pillows, no writing utensil, dirty glasses and the floor had quite a few stains on them...almost looked like BBQ stains or something. The lobby is beautiful and their pool area is fantastic with plenty of amenities.

Read a real review here. When we arrived for our two night stay we could not figure out how to valet our car and felt like a long time went by before someone helped us valet our car for $44 per night. That however did not damper our spirits as my husband and I, who usually go on vacation to the Colorado mountains, stayed at a beach hotel for the first time. After waiting twenty minutes to check in, we noticed all kinds of trash under the check in desk, not very becoming of what is supposed to be a 4.5 star hotel, but maybe they were short staffed, no problem. The real problem was when we opened the door to the room we were assigned and saw three naked females, two who were underage. After much embarrassment and apologies we went back downstairs, waited again fifteen minutes for the elevator, were the employees would get on before guests, apparently they do not have a service elevator, another 10 or 15 in the check in line to let the front desk employees know what happened. As this wasn't enough, the entire place smelled like a septic tank was backing up especially in our room and the hotel Canteen where they sell food. We ate the first night at Bristols, one of the on property restaurants were the calamari was undercooked and I was nauseous for the rest of the evening and most of the next day. The next day we went to the pool. No one at the pool asked us if we were guests of the hotel, we were even given towels! That would explain the hundreds of people at the pool, if I had kids I would bring them here to cool down, it's a free pool. The water in the pool was cloudy and reeked of urine as soon as you walked up to it. I ask myself how I was so fooled to have come here, I have stayed at 3 star hotels that were better kept. Then I read the reviews, it is clear this property has hired a company to write fame reviews about this place. There are way better hotels in other parts of South Florida, please check them out, this place is an embarrassment to our community and should definitely be stripped of its 4.5 star status, what a joke!!

Great hotel, good bar, nice pools. Has exclusive beach, but the resort fee is pretty pricey if you're just looking to chill for a couple of hours. Only really worth it, if you stay on the beach for the whole day. Bar menu is fairly decent too

Hotel was beautiful, had great ocean view, beach access and pools. Lack of food options is one reason for lower rating. Food is very overpriced and very few options. Almost all rooms have adjoining room (door in between rooms) and we had noisy neighbors. You can hear their entire conversation through the door.
Hotel is a bit pricey given these 2 issues.

It is very good hotel. Excellent location but in reception neither have bilingual receptionists and they do not care. The first thing that Gacehn nothing else you get "card and pay". It is not a proper treatment of a 4.5 . Very expensive in relation quality / price.

Very upscale and has a great atmosphere. There are some really nice restaurants and we ended up at Point Royal which was pretty good but expensive.. I actually loved their Happy hour. We went back a second time just for their Happy hour.
