The hotel venue is very nice. Lots of amenities and restaurant choices. The room we stayed in was 3581 and had a great view. The room had been completely redone. Only issue here is the expense of any of the food or beverage on site. Beware of the cost to eat even a simple meal.

I am currently on my second of 4 days at this resort and am very disappointed. For a place that tours as a 5 star style resort it is far from it. On the up side it is beautiful and looks appealing but after being here I have learned I would not return. 1. The balconies are concrete and Uninviting. 2. The price for everything is obscene, even the basic buffet breakfast cost almost $80 for one adult and one child. 3. The facilities are not able to accommodate the amount of guests. There are no pool chairs or spots available at the beach unless you are there by 8am and the workers helping to get a chair are not helpful...their advise come earlier (7am is their recommendation). 4. The water slide for kids looks like it s 30 years old and doesn t even work. The water doesn t run thru and the kids have to claw their way to get thru it. The guy who works there responded... it s not working...maybe tomorrow
I could go on but I think that s enough. I spent a lot of money to have a nice few days away from the cold with my daughter and I regret coming here. Will see what the last days bring but I m not expecting better.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! Would give this hotel zero stars if possible. Called numerous hotels throughout South Florida to find a couples massage for my boyfriend and I for Christmas. Every hotel told me that we would be receiving pool access for the day of the service including The Diplomat Beach Resort. I called the resort TWO different times to confirm that this information were correct. At the end of our service, after paying, we were told we would no longer be receiving wristbands to the pool because they don t give those out. We spoke to Analiese who could in short, be described as a disrespectful, rude individual. She not only refused to resolve the discrepancy that her employees created, but also began lying to ours and her workers faces. She mentioned that they never give out wristbands for spa guests, but the workers beside her said otherwise. The entire spa is extremely flawed. Analiese also mentioned to us that spa guests can use their amenities (lockers, sauna, steam room, relaxtion room, etc.,) throughout the day until 6 when they close. But when my boyfriend asked to store his bag Analiese told him no. Spent $400 at the spa and Phoala (manager at the hotel desk) told us that we are not paying guests. I have been to better spas that are less expensive and much nicer. Oh, and treat you with respect!

The Diplomat hotel is truly a wonderful resort. The staff is great. The pools are amazing and the views from the ocean facing roooms are incredible. Recommend this hotel and resort to anyone.

Quite honestly, i expected more from. this hotel for the price point, i stayed here 3 years in a row for a convention and since it's missing that umph factor, i have not stayed there again and i feel so happy about it because i don't feel like it's worth it

It's on the beach, has a large pool, has a kids play area in the pool area and on the beach, it has multiple restaurants, close to shopping, rooms are perfectly fine, nothing to dislike really. It is geared more towards large crowds and people that want to have fun instead of relax, and aside from the pretty sweet lobby, there isn't much that makes this hotel memorable for me.

Super-nice and helpful staffers, but unfortunately the hotel nickels and dimes for everything ($3.80 to print one page?!), and their new resort fee is the last straw.

THE GOOD:
- Upgraded to an oceanview room (from my Hilton Gold status)
- Desk chair was actually decent (adjustable) for the vertically challenged :)
- Nice to get $5/day for declining housekeeping.
- Restaurant food was really tasty. I had an outstanding (and shockingly reasonably priced) filet mignon at the pool bar (which had been cooked in the steak restaurant, apparently).
- Did I mention that the staffers were wonderfully nice? Just a delight to chat with. And, when it came to the hotel's stupid fees, they were really embarrassed and apologetic.

THE MEH:
- Gym was a cave (as in, like, theatre-dark).
- No bathrobe in the room
- Room was kinda dark. Why don't hotels ever have overhead lighting?
- Not much at all within walking distance, but that's not really the hotel's fault.

THE BAD:
- Free breakfast (for Gold) = $15 voucher. Okay, that's fine. But it can only be redeemed at the deli place, which had lines out the wazoo *every morning*. And the sandwich I had there was... really awful. Why we couldn't apply the $15 towards the buffet cost is beyond me. I mean, $15 is $15, right?!
- Zero info in room about anything. First business hotel or resort I've seen in my life, I think, where there's not some book or printout mentioning restaurant hours, energency numbers, gym hours, etc.
- Internet ranged from good to lousy, and each time I opened my laptop it took forever to reconnect.
- $5 for them to receive a tiny padded-mailer package for me? But that was dwarfed by the insult of being asked to pay $3.80 to print out a one-page movie voucher. Seriously?! What year IS this?!
- It's a beach resort... and yet if you want a chair on the beach, you have to rent one for $13/day.
- $16.12 for a simple mixed drink?!
- Morning of checkout: no bill under door, no bill in email.

We arrived early and they had our room ready so many great things let us begin...
Check in was smooth even with a large group they kept everything moving.
Our room was very clean loved the soaking tub.
Splash bar food was great and reasonable after all it's a resort:) drinks were perfect!!
Pools clean water perfect!
Booked through southwest so breakfast each morning was included coffee great.
Didn't have a balcony but who vacations to sit in their room. We had two double beds but were newlyweds so we don't mind being close.
This hotel has sooo much potential their marketing team needs to step it up. They have wave runners, paddle boats, cabanas that need to be promoted I didnt see them until we were leaving, and don't rent a car ride the trolley it's 1.00 each way and it goes far. We ventured out and found great eating spots, and Walmart in walking distance. They have a cute gift shop and computer area. Also the spa is a hidden gem perhaps poolside massages?? Beautiful fitness center!!
I saved the best for last the staff went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. We got locked out of our room and security was most helpful. We will be back kudos to all of the employees special thanks to Neka at the front desk and security officer Christina for their extra support
Mrs. SMITH
Only real con having to pay for umbrellas for the beach 20.00 a bit much it should be included.

New renovation is great. Super clean and so many options for dining and drinking. Most restaurants and bars are pricey, catering to business travelers, but it was fine for a weekend work trip!

Wow I m very disappointed I ve stayed in this hotel over 10 times in my lifetime and last week we stayed again we had booked four nights and left early because we couldn t take it the sheets were dirty the bathroom was dirty the door knobs were broken the knob on the refrigerator was broken the coffee bar was not stocked it was just a huge disappointment we stayed in room 2352. We called the front desk to notify them that the room was not up to par and they sent a someone and they did nothing but look and leave. The next day tub was still dirty. They never called to follow up on how we were doing how was the room. Oh yeah and even the sheets were dirty with green stains. This is supposed to be a five-star hotel right ? Last time we stayed in the presidential suite. I was dying to leave. I can t imagine they spent all this money in remodeling and they can t even keep a clean room.

Very clean property with a very friendly and attentive staff. The downside is the obscene price they charge for food and beverage. After the automatic 18% gratuity they charge, no matter how will your server did, a beer will cost you $8 and a cheeseburger and fries will cost $20. The DoubleTree a block down the street charges $3 for a beer.

Room was fantastic, even thought the balcony was closed. Food was ungodly expensive. A Pina colada at the pool cost $15. It was cheaper to go on a Lyft to go out and eat rather than lay the hotel premiums.

The room and services were top notch, the thirty dollar per person morning buffet was abysmal. For a five star resort all was perfect but the drink prices were REDICULOUS. Eleven dollars per beer, plus gratuity!? You would think they'd be happy w/ the amount of $$ made per room!?

Nice location. Nice oceanfront room. Garden tub. Nice showerhead in separate shower. Nice breakfast buffet but $35 and added gratuity and taxes. Many restaurants but way, way out of my price range. $7 lyft/uber fare down to Margaritaville dropoff with Liquor store across street and Boardwalk access.

***** Fantastic!!! It all started with Ahyme at check-in. She is a sweetheart! We asked to upgrade our room, and the one she picked out for us was on the 34th floor. Wow what a room, what a view of the ocean & Intercoastal Waterway we had. The room was a suite very spacious, large bathroom, 2 TVs, sofas and seating everywhere, and a really comfortable king size bed. We dinned at Point Royal, Gene was our server. He explained the house specials and I chose the Grouper, which was well prepaired and delicious!!! Great recommendation Gene, TY. In the morning decided on the house buffet for breakfast. This was breakfast to remember. It was serverd at the Point Royal Restaurant. Lots and lots of selections. Fruit, bacon, potatoes, eggs, breads, pastries, I could go on and on. I ate so much I had to rest for 2 hours after. One of the best buffets breakfasts I have ever seen. Be sure to get down there and try it out. We walked around for hours. So much to see. The many pools are well layed out, even for the young ones. No crazy partying either. Lots of palm trees for shade. The beach was well equipped with lounges and cabanas. All was beautiful. We visited Anna in the Ice Cream shop, where she explained to us that all the pastries are baked fresh in house where she is part of that team. I want to tell you they were super fresh and delicious. Visit the Ice Cream shop and tell Anna we said Hi. She always smiles and is a very pleasant person to have a conversation with. When it was time to check-out we saw Ahyme once more. We loved her. She was a dear and she helped made our visit to the Diplomat Beach Resort one to remember. Thank You Ahyme from Mr. Terry :) Valet parking is well run, fast, and very organized. The guys out there work hard and they were very courteous. We were invited to return and that we shall. The Diplomat Hotel is a beautul palce and you will not regret your stay there. Be sure to stay in a high room. You will love it!!! Look for Ahyme at the front desk. Terry&Peng

Overall a good experience. As others have stated, the hotel is under renovations. Basically, they have moved the lobby to the convention center next door and closed the main lobby. This means a bit of a walk to enter or exit the hotel. Staff was accommodating, pools and beach were great. Of course, food and drink prices are much higher than they should be. We enjoyed our vacation time here. 4/5 stars.

My God I didn't want to leave! I had an oceanview room and the view and room itself was wonderful!!! I did had issue with housekeeping when I first arrived but they handled it very well that I didn't feel a need a lower a star. Everyone was friendly and acxommodating. They have everything you need onsite (although $$$). Will definitely return should I visit Miami again!

Way too expensive for everything and no coffee maker or tea in the room. The balcony was there and yet locked and we could not gain access. We worked our way to Margaritaville and God I wish we stayed there....the worst part is this was my honeymoon and my birthday June 5th....no joke so yeah I dealt. Margaritaville in one week with all are friends for dinner loved it.

Potential to be 5 star but the service is lacking. You can tell they don't really care to participate in HHonors. Had to beg for benefits and even Diamonds only get part off breakfast. No room upgrades. Elevators major headache. Room was clean and hotel is beautiful. Pool area way over crowded and couldn't get service. There are places with much better service a little north at Fort Lauderdale Beach.

Good

My wife and I stayed here 4 nights in March for our anniversary. When we checked in, it was welcoming and immediately got an early check-in and room upgrade. We used spa services twice and found the spa to be very clean and the service excellent, especially Celicia? at the front desk, she was awesome!
Our room was very nice, clean and the bed was comfortable. The atmosphere in the entire hotel was relaxed, casual and friendly. We ate at Monkitail, which was excellent and unique, albeit a little pricey. The Royal pointe breakfast buffet was excellent, but again a little pricey at $35 per. Service everywhere on the resort was friendly and efficient. I would recommend this resort and stay there again.

It is a beautiful hotel, but the bathroom floors are treacherous if any water whatsoever gets on them, and they don't provide any kind of bath mat to keep you from slipping and falling. I fell and ended up with a severely sprained wrist and a laceration in my leg so deep I needed stitches. Guest services never would answer the phone so I could request a first aid kit, so I had to go downstairs and walk through he lobby while dripping blood down my leg, only to have the concierge tell me to go sit down and wait for security, who offered me bandaids and kept talking over me while I was trying to tell him what happened. When I realized I needed to go get actual medical attention, they tried to stop me from leaving because they wanted me to fill out an incident report. The next day I got a card under my door asking me to call guest services because they had my luggage (they didn't) and, of course, guest services never would pick up (again), so I had to go down there and wait for the bellman to return only to learn it was put there by mistake. Also, the drinks are no less than $20 each, and the room service menu is minimalistic at best.

We were a guest at your Diplomat Resort from 4/11 through 4/15. What a great experience. We had just wonderful service from morning, great breakfast buffet, the pool and beach were there your our enjoyment too.

After a busy day of meetings, the best time EVER was to go to Rivals Sport and unwind.
Laura waited on our table, she is a keeper! Her smile and the way she manager her area was refreshing. I am sure she is a valued asset to your group.

Thank you for making our trip full of Great Memories.

Treated myself to a staycation for mother's day and truly enjoyed my stay. The resort was beautiful, i was at peace, until prior to my official check out time. I returned to my room and found that a housekeeper already entered my room. The problem is, i had my evening gown on the bed to wear to a concert that evening, and suddenly it was missing. The house keeper claimed she didn't see it on the bed. I complained to the staff at the front desk, and have yet to hear anything back. Very unfortunate after such a nice stay your clothing is possible stolen or mysteriously disappears. Parking definitely overpriced..35+tax to park your car yourself across the street.

I am well travelled Hilton Diamond member, average 60-90 nights a year in Hilton's plus.
One extremely rude manager William is more concerned acting like he is my manager rather than insuring my stay is going well was very annoying. I don't understand how they keep him around. He acts like a typical boss and not like a true leader. I would have sacked him long ago and got proper leadership. Lots of issues with the check in system. Check in takes too long. Great pools and grounds. Food is over priced and disgusting. If you guys want to charge $11 for a croissant at least sell me good tasty one. Just because people have money to spend doesn't mean that are stupid. Buffet breakfast was really good, but for $45/person.... STOP AUTOMATICALLY ADDING TIPS TO A BILL!!!!! THAT IS A HORRIBLE PRACTICE!!! staff is not attentive and as caring as they know they auto get 18% and if you don't notice it people add on top. YOU CANT LEGEALLY MAKE ME PAY 18% ON TOP IF I DONT WANT TO!!!!! If you leave towels in your pool chairs, and go for lunch they will clear them right away and you lose your seats. Very annoying. Resort fee doesn't include an umbrella at the beach, I had a small baby and I find it very annoying you have to pay for shade. When you're paying $500/room plus a resort fee on top!!!!!
This was a list of all the bad.

On the good side it's very clean and modern hotel. Hotel has a few restaurants on site (see above for pricing) great upkept beach. Rooms are quiet and don't smell. Awesome pools and bars.

Because of William I have to give it a low star rating, send me his termination papers and I'll change my rating to 5 stars!!!!
