Diplomat Resort & Spa Review

No smoke detector in room. This was their answer to this.

Beautiful. Fun and close to shopping, theaters, and the beach.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights. The front desk was very kind and professional, and even moved us to a different room because we didn't want to be by the elevators. The property is gorgeous, adjacent to the ocean with a wonderful pool as well. We had drinks at the bars and the bartenders did a great job making our drinks. Also, the coffee shop in the lobby was wonderful iced coffee and quiches. I would recommend staying at this hotel and I know we look forward to staying again.

Great amenities and excellent service. Be ready to pay $25 service charge per room service per meal. Loved the pool and the beach. Definitely coming again.

Great Resort. This is a place I love to escape from the North to come to..Adam one of the bellman is fantastic and the best for advising you on what to do and where to go and eat.

Check-in was very time consuming , no friendly welcome. Never again.

Attended a meeting in the convention part of the hotel. Some initial issues with the number of microphones but that was addressed pretty quickly. Also are at the burger place which was very good!

A divine place to go as a couple or as a family. Relaxed and modern atmosphere.

We attended the Broward Education Foundation's annual year-end benefit in the main ball room. The food, drinks and service provided by the hotel we're all outstanding. A true five-star evening.

This place really is going downhill. We walked in and atleast 20 spots in the roof were leaking where they did recent rennovations. We went to the spa and found it has gone downhill as well. To start, my robe had a stain on it and the attendant was no where to be found after he showed me around. They dont offer champaign anymore and no longer have snacks. Just soggy lemon water and apples. The massuse I had was too weak and claimed that was all she can do. I paid for a deep tissue... Ive been evwrywhere from the ritz to 30$ hole in the walls and this was one of the worst massages I have ever had. I stopped her three minutes in and asked if she can go deeper and she said no let me see if i can get anyone else. So im waiting 5 min before a manager comes in...while im still naked on the table and starts appologizing. I just left and said i wasnt coming back. This place used to be great...atleast they still have monkey tail. Best restaurant around.

Seeing pictures online and reading reviews, me and my wife decided to spend our last couple of nights of our honeymoon here. We booked a nice room that stated Ocean view on our booking details. When we got to the room we were facing the other building with no ocean view. We went back down and asked if we can receive the room we paid extra to see. They explained to us that this is a partial ocean view room... if you step out into balcony and look over the edge you can see the ocean. No where in our book My details did it say it was a partial view.

After this extremely irritating situation we needed to stay another night. When we tried booking the room again for another night they did not want to give us the same price as the first two nights. They explained that no one was staying in the room but that rates went up. They were extremely rude and disrespectful. Very unpleased and for the price we paid, they did not deliver on customer service... way to expensive and overrated. They did not care about us and probably don t care about others.

This is my second stay at THE DIPLOMAT HOLLYWOOD. I happened to fly right into the middle of a potential hurricane. I was originally booked at a different property next door, and had to leave that hotel. I was welcomed with open arms and the staff went above and beyond for me.

My family was treated like royalty. Every single staff member had a kind spirit, positive attitude and a smile on their face; even in the midst of uncertainty and a stressful situation. We felt so at home. I would recommend this property 10 times over.

Rooms are nicely renovated, but hotel seems cramped on its spot next to the little beach.

Beautiful pools, great service, wonderful view. If it's in your budget, stay here.

Third stay at the hotel for a conference in November and there was noticeable difference now that it's no longer a Westin. Several complaints; maid didn't lock door after cleaning room, dirty wash clothes were left with the clean towels, and room was never cleaned before 4 pm with exception of the day of check-out. This was after multiple complaints to the front desk. Not the great experience of the first 2 visits.

Lovely place, only issue is having to pay for chairs on beach, after paying a $30 resort fee. Seems a bit excessive

Awesome spa experience. The employees are attentive and just wonderful from the valet to the beach boys.

This hotel has gone down the tubes since Hilton took over management of the property from Starwood. Used to be my favorite hotel in South Florida; now I doubt I'll ever want to stay there again.

There's a consensus that since the Diplomat was taken over by Hilton, the service has become unacceptable. Long lines for EVERY THING, lack luster management and lack of staff to handle the Easter weekend crowd.
Management needs to fix the chaos if they want to be successful.

The Diplomat has the best bartending staff. They are very fun and have great customer service. We will definitely be back there to see them. The resort is gorgeous and the views are spectacular. I love that the resort has added a D. J to the lobby to entertain the guess.

Buyer Beware...I don't mind spending a lot of money as long as you get something good in return. This place really nickel and dimes you and it is EXPENSIVE...not the room rates per se, but all of the peripheral items. $20.00 hamburgers at the pool that are the quality you get at a football game. And you really have no choice because that's the only thing to eat at the pool. 5 people with one burger and 2 drinks apiece yielded a $300.00 lunch bill. You have to pay for beach chairs despite being a guest. For breakfast you only have 2 choices: a nearly $50.00/person buffet or the coffee shop that has $13.00 breakfast sandwiches which was basically an egg Mcmuffin, except egg McMuffins are fresh and have real eggs...this was a microwaved sandwich made of powdered eggs...better meals on an airplane. Parking is $50/day. The rooms were nice, but the hallways were filthy...debris all over the floor as of they hadnt been vacuumed in weeks...the staff for the most part was very friendly but overall a very poor Hilton experience

One of my favorite hotels, the views are wonderful, it can become very crowded. The double decker pool is great too.

Nice hotel in a great spot. Really cool and giant pool and the rooms are goegeous. I'd you plan on staying in hollywood, you can't go wrong here.

Hotel was nice staff great guests were rude sloppy and very over crowded. Sloppy people nobody cares. Dogs? Who brings a dog to the Hilton so he can see on pool chairs. Lol nobody cares

We all went to The diplomat couple weekends ago.. The experience was really bad but the hotel was stuffed so you can accept so of the mistakes what is unthinkable what they are doing to our friend they are charging them for a night they did not stay. They checked out Sunday morning I decided the night before to stay one more day so we extended one more night but they went home the next day Sunday.. They have been contacting the Diplomat for weeks now and the management never calls them to let them know . it is like robbery and they do not step up and resolve this. I am sharing on Facebook lets give them what they deserve. two or three hundred bad review should make them react. I have heard this is common in Miami Beach sticking tourist with unwanted bills I guess the diplomat does the same thing

Great place for a conference. Amazing view, impeccable service. Truly top notch.

Great place for relaxing or for family as there are 3-4 pools with lots of activities for kids. It's a massive hotel with lots of restaurants. The only thing is that you'll need to drive somewhere for more reasonably priced and local food options. Not a lot of options nearby. There's a running/walk route nearby but unfortunately you'll need to walk on the main Street first to get there (no connection from the beach side).

Very upscale. Beautiful rooms, great views no matter the direction you are looking. Only downside is it can be rather noisy if there is a convention there. Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The place was nicer inside than expected. The conference room was huge enough to fit about 4000 people. Stay was busy but courteous.

Beautiful hotel with plenty of amenities. The pool is incredible and has a water park for the kids.

Nice resort but only issue I had was the beach. The chairs/umbrellas were stuffed like sardines. Barely any room to walk between to get to beach. Everything else was pretty much stellar. Great food selection and awesome bar that is in the foyer..

Everything is very nice and always clean. Very pricy but very nice.

Beautiful property. Rooms are generously sized. Staff was terrific. Beautiful views of the city and right on the beach.

Late between sunday and monday at around 2 o'clock, my daughter started beeing sick (too much hot dogs at the Marlins game in the afternoon), service sent at my room a 1st respondant if mt daughter needed medical asistance ans sent right away a genitor to clean everything. Outstanding service and care for the guests. Thank you.

Had an awesome time. Hotel staff was very helpful when needing assistance with our grandmothers wheel chair. The rooms were amazing

This hotel was the worst hotel I have stayed at.

1..Check in was abut 5:00 pm.
2. never was advised the balcony was closed for exterior maintenance. there was a letter on the desk from the G,M apologizing for this. If I had been notified about this I would have had the option to stay at the Boca Resort.
3.Room was never cleaned one night.
4.MY daughter had requested a blanket and she was told there was none available.
5, Room came with 3 important bulbs not working. Had to request new bulbs!
6.we had checked out and went to valet parking. We were properly informed there would be an approximately 10 minute wait. THIS WAS OK. I REALIZE IT WAS A Holiday. After a 40minute wait and going to the valet they advised my wife that our keys were misplaced . Finally we were out of there.
Our 50th wedding anniversary was ruined.
HOSPITALITY IS ALL ABOUT DETAILS. THEY SURE MISSED THE MARK
Summary: 0 stars. Do not come to this hotel!

What an awesome Hotel beautiful scenery Look Out on the Ocean beautiful.

Beautiful hotel! The pool is LARGE so it doesn t ever feel over crowded. The drinks are ok. Some were a little weak. Guess it depends whose making them. The food was delicious! Loved the mahi. Valet was a breeze. Didn t wait long for my car at all. Staff was helpful when asking question. Just wish they opened the sushi restaurant for lunch as well.

Staying here on storm work, beautiful views gorgeous hotel.
