Beautiful hotel, family, adult and business oriented, and a friendly staff, but I'm from the Caribbean where hotels are all inclusive, and that's the only thing it's missing! Otherwise I recommend it!

This was the best hotel I have ever been to the customer service was excellent people were so helpful and friendly the pool was perfect for swimming every thing is walkable from the hotel including shops restaurants and many more are stay also got better because we got upgraded to a suite which was so clean and nice and also the ceo of Marriott was there checking it out because it is a brand new hotel he was so nice he Even let me go for a ride with him at this time I was 8 on his golf cart such a fun time and experience at the diplomat if I ever go to fort laurel dale again I will have a nice place to stay.

Valet service here is horrendous. Not enough staffing, waited for my car for almost an hour. When it was 30 minutes I spoke to the valet manager because my keys were still on the rack in the office, and he replied that they we're short-staffed and there was nothing be could do. Absolute joke.

Nice hotel, beach front, very well decorated lobby with bar, restaurants and coffee shop, Pools, and Atlantic Ocean beach is Great for a family vacation. Ocean view room has the view of Atlantic Ocean as well the back bay lake. Water and other basic needs are exorbitant at the Canteen. Ocean Breeze in the pool area is fantastic.

Super clean room, text message customer service capabilities, and right on the beach. Drinks are expensive, but that s to be expected unfortunately when in a tourist/business travel location with barely anything within walking distance.

Rooms have only double beds UNLESS you get a suite... Had a bug in our oatmeal this morning! Instead of replacing it they gave us a 20% discount. Not near ANYTHING. 25 minute ride to Los Olas Blvd . Nice pools and bar areas. Marriott Harbor Beach Resort is MUCH nicer. Would NOT stay here again..VERY DISAPPOINTING

Great Hotel, horrible customer service and ridiculous prices. I have tried to get ahold of the accounting department for a pending charge on my credit card since I had left the hotel, with no response after leaving several messages. I also hadn't received any type of detailed receipt which I had asked for.
Pricing: go off site for dining, as you most definitely pay an arm and a leg for the convenience of eating at the resort. Breakfast Buffet for 4 of us was $180.00... This breakfast was nothing spectacular and service was horrible for drinks. 2 gold peak ice teas and 2 small 12 oz margarita glasses came to $40.00.
We do not mind spending money, but this is just ridiculously priced and we will probably not be back...

Beautiful location. Unfortunately at the time of this review the Diplomat is swarming with cookie-cutter financial advisors.

I have never seen hundreds of men wearing the same exact suits, shirts, shoes etc. Can anyone say Invasion Of The Body Snatchers!!!!

Definitely check if conferences or seminars are scheduled prior to booking. Cult-like experience.

Now back to the Diplomat, very nice place. Reccomend eating where the locals eat if you don't feel like forking out $40 for a pre-made sandwich, coffee and a bottle of water

WARNING! I had my personal items (2 lulu lemon pants) stolen directly from my room. I did not wear them them prior to putting them in the drawer before room cleaning. WARNING my items were stolen from my room. We filed a report with the hotel security. This ruined our whole trip and we felt very unasafe, never once got cleaning services again. I would advise you to NOT have cleaning services and to find a different resort if this is a service you want to receive. Everything else was great on the resort aside from room service stealing belongings.

Ps. I have never, ever written a review online and I feel obligated to let everyone know what happened to me here at the Diplomat resort.

Met Lisa at their restaurant during breakfast. She is now known as Brilliant from this day forward and simply because of her ability to make something as simple as breakfast a brilliant experience from the time she brought us coffee. With her friendly personality Lisa made me and other ghest around me feel warm and welcome while remaining very profesional. Wonderful smile and witty personality. Her name tag should read brilliant because that s how she made us feel and why I had a 5 star experience at this hotel. Thank you Brilliant Aka Lisa.

Great facility, food choices outside of the Sushi restaurant can be improved and you should consider finding ways to let Brilliant reach more of your customers.

Nice place but felt our complexion was too dark. Checked out & rented Jet Skis in Fort Lauderdale beach instead of here. The prices ended up being better. We got a glimpse of Anthony Anderson in the driveway

Room is ok. Very small. Valet is completely disorganized when they are busy. Front desk us not very helpful. We were booked in a block of rooms, all supposed to be on the same 2 floors, half of us are scattered around the hotel on different floors. Also, the most overpriced food in the area. Plan to eat out! It is cheaper to eat at Disney World!

I have stayed at this hotel several times before and never had an issue, however this past weekend was disappointing. I called ahead and double checked with hotel staff when we checked in about our cooler for the beach. I was told both times that it would be allowed only in the beach area. Perfect no problem until we attempted walking to the beach. We were stopped and told we could have the cooler on the beach but we could not walk through the pool area to the beach gate. When I asked if the hotel had an alternate beach access route for guests with coolers the person helping us called her supervisor over walkie. Her supervisor was beyond unprofessional and said over the walkie we would need to figure it out and she needed to keep doing her job. How does a hotel of this caliber not have an alternative route to the beach if they don t want guests walking through the pool area with it??? Also, I ve been a hotel guest several time never once had this issue before. On top of that after we finally made it to the beach we were refused a beach chair and asked to pay $20 for one even though we were hotel guests and they clearly saw our wrist bands. We got so fed up with our treatment we just set up towels outside the cone division separating our hotel from the beach. The next morning although check out is at 11 we had house keeping knocking at our door at 8 asking when we would be leaving. I said we would be out by 10 and the lady actually came back at 10 and stood outside our door until we left. This was a super uncomfortable and disappointing experience this time around.

This is the place to be!!! Whether it's for vacation or simply making money, it is amazing! I stayed here multiple times, and also have worked here. Great employees that are always welcoming you. Your coworkers work as a team. Great benefits, delicious food, and clean rooms. Two pools and restaurants/bars around the hotel. If I could rate this hotel a million stars I would. I'm no longer employed here, but it doesn't devalue it's worth.

I wouldn t come unless you dress all fancy and look like you have money. Here for work and so far all the staff I ve interacted with has acted very pretentious, as if you re lesser than them. It s a super nice hotel, but that doesn t matter if you don t feel at home. I d rather stay at a Motel 6 than this place.

An incredible location. In the same center limited between Hallandale Beach and Hollywood Beach. With a privileged beach access. Pools on upper floors which gives a panoramic view of the sea. Ample parking and luxury service in valet parking. Upper bridge that connects the hotel with Bristol's Burger and other places of interest of the Hotel. Spacious rooms for events, luxury in all parts of the Hotel. Incredible for business events and at the same time rest and enjoy the beaches and Nightlife of South Florida.

No towels in our room when we checked in. Charged a resort fee that was supposed to include wifi but when you tried to log on it said the standard access rate was $9.95. Coffeemaker but only espresso size cups. Tea drinkers are out of luck. And what's up with the shutters opening between the bathroom and bedroom? Could hear everything going on in bathroom. I could go on, but suffice to say the cost benefit was no where near what I expect from a Hilton.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. It's definitely one of the finest resorts in town. Not on top of that there's no reason to leave with all the restaurants here as well. I absolutely love it and would highly recommend it to anybody staying in Hollywood Florida

I have to say that my most wonderful experience was on Saturday March 4th having dinner when we met Ashley after having an inconvenience, Ashley with her professionalism, quick thinking and a touch of personal care made that inconvenience feel like it never happened. Thanks so much Ashley the Diploma Resort surely is blessed to have you.

Took 4 hours for bags to be taken to the room. Pool area is full of trash, no towels, no service. Other small annoyances like tea bags in room but no tea cups or access to hot water. Chromecast didnt work so no Netflix, only basic cable and in demand movies are $20. Nice place but under staffed for the amount of guests, super crowded ever where. Expect much more for a 4 star hotel. Would not recommend.

Not a bad spot, nice enough hotel, beach could be cleaned up a bit. But, upon leaving pointed out a mistake on my bill. They acknowledged it, and as I was in a rush to get to the airport, they said they'd correct it, reverse the charge and email a new statement. 8 days later and none of that had been done. Two days of phone calls, where I was transferred from front desk to accounting (which apparently is simply full vmails you can't leave messages on) and I've now been told the charge will be reversed and the new statement emailed in 5 - 8 business days. Round & round we go for such a simple issue. Fingers crossed this is fixed when they say it will be and I don't have to get back on the phone!

I posted my review on Facebook But it magically disappeared, and I all my check ins and tags are gone. I will repost it here.

It had all the potential to be on my top 5 hotels list..... But as the days went bye I gradually got very disappointed.

My initial impression was that this hotel is an iconic gem. The vestibule is absolutely breath taking... Not only in beauty but it actually WILL take your breath away...... It smells like backed up sewer. My husband says I'm crazy but I swear that's what I smelled every time I walked through there. We arrived and were notified that ALL balconies are closed........ I can look out but cannot even open them for fresh air and the smells and sounds of the ocean. Very disappointing especially because it was not noted on the website.

The valet staff were professional and friendly, but unless there was a top involved they weren't much help when I made a couple complaints. The first night we stayed (Friday), when we arrived back from dinner it appeared someone vomited in the flower pot near the smoking area. I notified a team member. The next morning (saturday) it was still there. I figured someone was bound to address it by the end of the day..... It was busy bc the Tenessee Titans were checking in. It happens. Well Monday rolls around and it's still there. But now dried and with flies all over it. I notified a team member AGAIN..... Said he would have it taken care of....... We left Tuesday. It was still there.

The handicapped and stroller accessibility is ridiculous. An absolute maze, with filthy urine soaked pool elevators that I had no choice but to use. The only decent handicapped rest room is hidden in the spa. Took me 3 days to find it.

I got stuck in the North tower elevator between the 12th and 14th floor. Just long enough for me to panic a bit. I went to hit the call button but it began moving again.

Housekeeping arrived after 3 pm most of the days we were there.

This hotel has all the potential...... But is either severly short staffed or managed terribly.

I pray that after renovations are done things are better, but I probably will not be returning.

Great staff. Check in will not happen early so if it says 4pm checkin then prepare for a 4pm checkin, no earlier. Still remodeling so not balconies. Food in the resort is pricy. Rooms are awesome and have a large bath. Tv's are large. Beach is right out back.

Very disappointed no one mentioned the hotel was going through major renovation when I called to make my reservation, or when I called to book a cabana, or when I called to extend my reservation. Arriving was a disaster since main lobby of the hotel was closed and under construction. Once there, we waited in line almost an hour to check in since they only had ONE person processing check-ins. Pool area totally a let down, because of the renovation and construction, many sidewalks and paths in the pool areas were closed, roped off and torn up. Finally happy to be pool side in my cabana which cost $350 for the day, I couldn't find anyone to take my food orders and/or to bring us drinks and when I was lucky enough to find someone I'd get a "I'll be right back" only to have to go order my own food. Rooms were nice but beds are smaller than last time I was there. Double rooms no longer have two queen size beds but instead two double beds. My husband and I barely fit in the bed and couldn't turn over. Overall, I was very disappointed and will seriously have to think about returning.

High-end luxury resort with great service all around. However, although I expect resort prices to be high, $25 for a drink at the bar is a bit extortionate. They have a huge convention center, great restaurants, and the rooms are nice also. The pool areas are relatively small however and did seem very crowded when we were there.

Nice building and location. Bad service, serious cleanliness issues.
Staff is not polite nor responsive to your needs. Gratuity is added to every single transaction including outlets. Bad check in and check out experience. The rooms are beautiful and remodelled but not soundproofed. You can hear your next door neighbor's TV or tub when functioning.
The balconies in many of the rooms are not accessible as they are undergoing renovations ( 6 months to a year).
We dine at Portico, one of the restaurants at the hotel. While dining we notice a mouse running around underneath tables. When notifying the staff we were told that since the restaurant is an outdoor facility there is not much they can do (so expect to see mice). We had lunch at the pool restaurant and my mother got intoxicated with the food (the only meal she ate that day). During our stay we try to reach out to an F & B manager but we're unable to reach anyone.

At check out we express our concerns and we're told that it sounded like an unfortunate sequence of events and that someone will call us or email us. They called two days later to offer us some discount next time we dine at one of their restaurants. Truth is we will NEVER dine there again.

It's usually not the type of service and amenities you would expect at a Hilton hotel.

I wanted to give the Diplomat 5 stars so bad because it really is a nice and beautiful hotel! When we checked it they upgraded our room at no cost. The hotel is very nice and clean and there was direct access to the beach. The only issues we had is they kept running out of towels everywhere. On the beach in the room at the pool there were no towels. We had to shower without wash cloths because there weren t any for 2 of the days we were there. Also the valet parking was super inconvenient. Long waits for the car even though we d call ahead. some of the people who worked in the booth would give us attitude about asking for our car saying it was on the ramp when it wasn t and did we get an apology when they saw their mistake... nope! Other than that we had a great time! We didn t even mind the fact that everything was supper expensive lol! We were happy to spend our money. Less the towels and valet it was awesome! Ps. We would have loved to have food options after 11pm :)

The experience I had a the diplomat was nothing to talk about. After waiting in a very slow line to check in w an understaffed front desk, an ocean view room turned out being a construction view out onto the road. We didnt receive wrist bands that were necessary to enter the pool and beach area. The upper pool was clean but lower pool was dirty with build up all on the edges. Prime was delicious, by far the best part of the hotel. We never had a house keeper come to clean up the room at all during our stay. The room had no mini bar. The room was cute but w no real thought behind the confused design. We enjoyed ourself bc we were together but will probably never stay there again.

I went for dinner , it was really good then I went and sit outside by the fire and I had a beautiful view of the pool all lighted the back round music was soft and smooth , the outside bar was also lighted and the attendance very friendly .

Nice rooms, pool is nice and very good food I recommend the diplomat prime. But on the other hand the customer service needs some help. One example I asked for room service menus it took almost an hour. the valet are very slow.

Stay wasn't bad. The guest services definitely tried to be as accomadating as possible. Google says it's a 4 star hotel but lots of the staff says it's 5 stars. Anyway point is.. No toothbrush were provided, and was asked for it, reply was they're out of stock. In fact, they've been out of stock for over 2 weeks now -_-;;. Whatever that's fine.. our room has no shampoo or shower gel either... But that was quickly provided... lastly.. the in house Chromecast provided on the tv wasn't working becauseee the previous guests stole the Chromecast in the tv lol gg. But that too was quickly provided. Staff were nice and friendly. But it definitely wasn't a flawless stay. However. The view was definitely beautiful and the weather was great. Coming here to escape the weather in Toronto during winter is definitely awesome. Oh and lastly.. my fault for not checking beforehand but FYI, There is no morning complimentary breakfast.
