This hotel looks great, but that's where it stops. We travelled on the 4th of July so things are expected to be busy, but all of the other hotels I've stayed at on the 4th blow this place away. Service is horrible. 2 hours to check-in to my suite (no, I didn't arrive early) and the valet and baggage service is just as bad. Do yourself a favor and go to any of the other 30 4-star hotels within 30 minutes of this place where they great you with a comfy seat and glass of champagne at check-in instead of endless lines. The Hollywood and Miami area is full of great hotels in the $250 - $400/night range, but this isn't one of them.

Why not 5 stars? In the end prices? 3.59 for a 20oz coke. Really? But was it clean? Very! Were the people nice? Excellent. The free ride replacing the trolley has electric cars. They were not happy about them dropping off at the door. But overall great experience.

Wonderful location. Nice pool area. Newly remodeled room. We had a 'partial ocean view room' that gave us a splendid view! The only negative is the beach is very thin, still very nice, however.

Offering two outdoor pools, a full-service spa and 10 on-site dining options, The Diplomat Resort is located across the beach from Florida, 1 mile from the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk where you will find plenty of restaurants and shops.
All rooms have a flat-screen cable TV, a small refrigerator and a work desk with an ergonomic chair. Select rooms have a private balcony.

A marina, a supervised activities club and a business center are available at the resort.

Stayed for two nights. Had an amazing time. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Air conditioning was great compared to other hotels. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Pools were amazing. The top infinity pool is great for small children. I asked for a crib and bed rails at check-in and were at the room within 10 minutes. Only negative I have is that I think the parking is overpriced at $20 a night for self parking. Everything else was great. Highly recommend.

I'm honestly not impressed by this hotel. The pool and slide area is great for the kids. The hotel is right on the beach, which is nice. I don't think hotel residents should have to pay an additional $15 to use the chairs though (maybe the umbrella shade, but not the chair). I was also under the impression that breakfast and wifi was included... only wifi is included in the lobby. If you have Hilton honors like I do, then you can get wifi in the room. My bathroom shower had mold and the layout was a little odd. I reserved an oceanview, but when I checked in they said it's only a partial ocean view, but I could get a full ocean view with balcony for an additional $25/night. That was fishy. Not all the outlets were functioning in the room... The conference room were great for the meetings that I attended and the staff hotel staff was very helpful and attentive. Overall, the hotel was okay.

A beautiful hotel, a unique atmosphere, I think its environment is unique. The hygiene in the rooms is first class, they are comfortable and spacious as well as beautiful and new, their beautiful pools. A first class restaurant with very good service, in general spectacular ... there is no other .... only its parking is somewhat expensive .. I congratulate you good work

Excellent. Really a nice property with access to the beach, outdoor swimming pools and walkways along the harbor boat slips offering an exotic tropical experience for the traveler and vacationer. This is an exception property updated and reimagined for a luxury getaway with first class service in all of their featured restaurants and cocktail lounges. We enjoyed our visit without any reservation or complaint about quality of service or issues with rooms or amenities. The weather was great and the beach was also fantastic with the hotel guests very civilized and well manered in public. It was nice to see and experience.

So far, my stay has been amazing! Two levels of pools, 4 restaurants, private beach, all without leaving the resort! Amanda Ventura was the front desk manager when we arrived and she was phenomemal! Id give more stars if it were possible!

The Diplomat has been around forever. Was there already 24 years ago when I moved to Hollywood. It has come a long way since then. Keeping up with the area's growth. Nice to see it is going strong.

So far I'm not impressed with the Diplomat Resort in Hollywood FL. Arrived last night for a conference (so we're spending A LOT of money here). Very friendly doorman greeted me and took my bags to deliver to my room. I waited but when they didn't arrive I left to get get something to eat with a colleague expecting they would be delivered while I was gone. Returned after 11pm and still no bags. Tried calling the desk 2x but no answer. I had to find and retrieve them on my own. Supposed to be 2 bottles of water in the room, but no water. In room dining has no pages in it and no info on what is available or where. Neighboring room has a balcony (I don't though) that overlaps with my window, and neighbours were out there until the wee hours this morning drinking and having extremely loud conversation. (Friendly though - when I tried to motion to them to lower the volume, they waved back.) They may as well have been sitting beside me since there appears to be no sound insulation in the windows.
And the picture below? This is the desk chair and yes, it is just as uncomfortable as it looks. And I'm working here for 5 days. *sigh*

This was a very nice hotel, service was good, but rooms are.....well here is a photo to explain. Its wonderful waking up to guys in front of your window looking into your room. Room was missing, yes!! missing furniture, no table and chairs, just a blank space. No rooms available to switch......

We had an excellent experience from check in to check out! The front desk staff were friendly helpful and accommodating. The food was delicious and the views were spectacular! We went to oyster hour all 3 days we were there at Point Royal and each time the bartender Ryan was great! He not only was excellent at his job he was professional friendly informative and helpful we really enjoyed our interactions with him!! We will definitely be back!

Very nice upscale resort. A bit pricey, bit we'll worth it. The parking garage and entertaining area (along with two restaurants) is located across the street from the resort, which is a great set up in my opinion. Restaurants are decent. Overall very nice place.

Beautiful Hotel but with new management when it was owned by Westin it was way better. The beds are not of good quality, I loved the Westin bed and comforter it felt like you were in a cloud. Wish new management spend more on things like this. Went from a 5 to a 3 in my book.
