I was very angry this time when I was in the hotel.
I spend all my birthdays here. But this time my husband forgot a fine shirt In the closet when we left the room.
We are ok when was in our house because we thought the shirt was in the closet. We left the hotel at 3 pm. And we checked our bag at 5 pm and then we called to the hotel and the shirt it's not there. Nobody's report something in the room. In other words we can not found the shirt.. I spoke with everybody in the hotel because I can not believe this.. nobody's knows about the shirt.
I love this hotel. But with incident I never come back. Nobody can not help me with this and also one associate from there told me I have to check my bag again.. REALLY you are so stupid.. I can't waist my time calling to the hotel for this. Its obvious we don't have the shirt..
I'm very dessapoinent..
Horrible experience...especially because this resort it's very expensive..
We spent I lot money that night.. and I never found answer for this incident..
You need to care each guest in your hotel.. rigth now you losted a good customer.. may be doesn't care, but and the end we are count..
Thank you very much for your poor way to care your guest...
I NEVER COME BACK...!!!!

I don't usually write reviews on trip advisor, but I had the most amazing experience at pool cabana's. We were hosted and served by Danny Sultan. He made sure no matter how busy, to always be around the corner to handle our every need. I can not express how much his Service meant to us. I will definetly be back at the diplomat in the future . My advice when traveling to the diplomat, is to immediately request him as host and server

Definitely sad to say that I won t ever be staying here again. What was once one of my favorite hotels definitely didn t show any remorse on a holiday like 4th of July. I made an honest mistake and booked a suite on July 3 instead of July 4th. All the staff behind the desk kept insisting that my suite is not available anymore. They put me in a way smaller room for almost the same rate as the suite. It was a party of 5 with 2 kids. Around 1030pm 6 hours into check in my wife was very overwhelmed with the space of the room. We just couldn t accommodate ourselves. I went to visit the staff and explained to them the situation, even after spending a hefty amount dinning at monkitail. They simply told me nothing could be done and not even a small refund could be accomplished. I had to drive 31 Miles home at 11pm with 2 kids. I m very disappointed and I will definitely not let this go. Worst night of my life by far. I definitely won t reccomend this hotel to anybody else. Please be aware of Unfriendly staff.

We stayed in a fabulous $1,500 a night room on the 27th floor with the view of the entire city in front of us. A beautiful hotel the most gorgeous building in the area, it was just fabulous. The room itself was rather small but very well decorated. We stayed on the 16th floor and had wonderful service while we were there. If you're bringing a family, I would suggest getting snacks for your kids elsewhere as the canteen offers things for everybody if you're hungry and want to snack but you will pay the price of a very expensive meal for person. There's so much to do at this hotel I can't even start explaining it. The views are awesome there are three pools one with the waterfall. There are bars at the pools fire pits beautiful views of the ocean. I would recommend this hotel highly to anybody that doesn't mind paying $1,500 a night or more.

Valet close the first words received, how a guess can not access valet parking ??? Then they charged me 2 times the deposit of $ 75. Plus the next day an additional charge of 39. No one has explained to me why.
In the desk from the girl who attended us did not take into account that it was our first time here. So it was not explicitly explained with all the satisfactions that the hotel counted. In the area of
Pool we did not have towels, no employee was able to assist us. Actually the hotel as structure is very nice. But it does not have the assistance of employees.

Great hotel! Right on the beach & room includes beach chairs. Only issues - when I drove up, no one came over to help me. I had to flag someone over & tell them I was checking in. Also, when I was checking out there was only 1 person at the front desk & a line of guests was forming. Otherwise, great room, beach employees were really helpful, & the pool area was also really nice.

The hotel was very nice; however the shower was too small. There is a marble base board that separates the commode area from the shower, I kept hitting my ankle on that bloody thing. Management needs to redesign that area. The room was clean and had a Art deco look. The breakfast was superb. I enjoyed my stay

My experience at the Hilton was a phenomenal one to boast, and I promised to write a review so here it is.
Once main standout employee was Nika. Upon arrival we were well taken care of at reception by her. I can not stress how professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating Nika was. We needed some extra items at check-in and she effortlessly helped and guided us on procuring them.
Each time we relied on the staff for something we needed, they jumped to our rescue and they were very kind about it. I'd like to say whomever manages/trains the staff on customer service and client pleasure is doing a great job. Throughout the resort the my sentiment was consistent, in that I was quite pleased with the service.

Don't even bother with room service! Arrived @ 8 pm, exhausted after a day of travel, and just wanted to order a light dinner via room service. I called 3x, the phone rang forever and no one answered. So I called the main desk, who transferred me 3x, again with no answer... Finally after 10 minutes of this, they were able to get someone on the line, who was in a cranky mood and barked out that it would be about a 1.5 hour wait. Guess I'm eating the snacks I brought for dinner. Certainly wouldn't expect that long of a wait at 8 pm on a Sunday night; maybe they should staff up a little more.

I went to this resort with my husband for the first time on a work event for European Wax Center. The hotel in a whole was outstanding and very clean. The event coordinator went above and beyond with the set up for the company and the layouts of the classes and reception settings. I would personally like to thank Brian the banquet manager for his personalized follow up on our first visit to this resort. He took special time and interest in seeing that we were 100% satisfied with anything and everything during our stay! Also Harry who made sure to resolve any issue we ran into. To the event waiters Ruel aka 007 I thank you personally for touching base with us and making sure we had everything we needed! To Andrew for the great conversation, relatable attitude and overall showmanship. You all are wonderful and made our stay a very wonderful first time experience. We will be coming back next year and we excitedly cannot wait to see you all again.

This hotel is beautiful in location but I have not been enjoying my stay. It took almost an hour to check-in and after we reserved two room together and called to confirm the reservation we did not get that. I also asked for a room that had enough room for my Father's mobility scooter to turn around and she gave him a room that was narrow and we had to struggle with the furniture.
The FOOD is not good. There are few choices in the main restaurant options and the room service options. I am sure the other more pricey restaurants are great, the "hotel" restaurants and not good at all.
After we finally arrived in the room after log check-in we did not have any towels in the room. I did call down and they delivered in about 30-40 min but a huge frustration when you want to finally relax.
To be fair the beds are very comfortable and everything in the hotel seems very clean. Overall so far it is pretty, but the customer service experience and quality you are expecting for the price is disappointing. I will be taking an Uber to a local place to eat and drink tonight so that I can relax on my trip. I would have preferred to stay at the resort after a long day of the conference but this is not an option.

I booked an ocean front room, but once we arrived the room was not oceanfront. I went back down, they realized the error and provided the right room along with a $50 hotel credit. The room was a handicap accessible room (no shower just a tub), but I did not want to go back and make a line for the 3rd time....the view was what we wanted which was beautiful. The resort was very nice and staff was ok.
My complaint is that there are a lot of fees (hotel fee parking fee) and that the way the hotel faces you loose the sun at about 2pm. Lastly, the food is over priced...just lunch (2 adults and 2 kids) it was over $120 for sandwiches which is ridiculous. The kids pool play area is great and the Hollywood Board walk is about a 10 minute drive which is nice.

Amazing the concierge helped me so much because I left my jacket in the closet And only realize that when I was at the airport gate so the lady suggested that she goes up and check for the jacket and she found it then she put the jacket into it Uber and it came to me at the airport just a minute before I took off and everything was perfect so this is great Leo

Huge disappointment. this place used to be a gem, it's now a miserable run down building no where near being a motel let a lone a premium resort. The staff is very polite but that's it they just can't do much with a run down place, what a a shame....... Make sure you review your bill as you likely to find discrepancy.

I like the views from the room. I like the pool on the pool with the glass bottom, the food was overpriced for what it was. And avocado shake for like 10 bucks was gross, I think the only reason you drink that is cuz you drink too much alcohol and you're trying to make up for your sins.

Awful experience. I'm a loyal Hilton Honors member, this is a horrible hotel and for the money they charge, NOT WORTH IT. The staff is totally unengaged, could care less. Especially being a single traveler. The hotels, which are supposed to be these famous chef inspired, blah, blah. It's Freaking Frozen Food. And they are rude, again to a single. I Will NEVER come back, and I'm here every few months. I Will tell everyone. This hotel is one of the WORSE and Hilton should drop from it's franchise. The local Hampton Inn is better and WAY cheaper.

An attractive rip off. Makes you pay for everything a decent hotel comes with, such as breakfast, wifi, parking, and poolside seats. Unbelievably overpriced bar. They wouldn't give us our requested room at first, and then transferred us to a room with someone else's luggage in it. The reason this review isn't lower is because they gave us hotel credit for our inconvenience, and because the pools and beach were wonderful.

My only experience with The Diplomat was from visiting Point Royale, a wonderful, albeit pricey restaurant located inside. We arrived a good 15 minutes ahead of our reservation, and were seated immediately. The staff was amazing, especially our server, as he supplied us with in-depth descriptions and recommendations all night, and everything tasted fantastic! Definitely a must-visit if you are looking for a high-class place to eat in the area.
Amazing Resort.

I'll echo most of the posts that are here on googl...
I'll echo most of the posts that are here on google, as well as the one's I've seen on Tripadvisor. This hotel could be a 5 star but for the reasons given. I won't repeat the gripes, but instead, will point out the kind of customer that will appreciate staying here.
You will enjoy staying here if you are one of the following:
1. Are a local who will bring your entire family and plenty of food and drink to last the entire stay. This will make your children happy and you might get a chance to relax. Make sure to bring a big cooler with everything - food, drink, sunscreen and anything you don't want to buy.
2. Are at a conference where all the meals are included. The facilities for meetings are excellent, the coffee and acoustics are good. The local water is drinkable and the conference chairs are comfortable. We are talking about mid-level management type of conference, not executives or those used to overstuffed leather chairs. (an assumption on my part, since I didn't see any, but there is probably a penthouse area that would do for the CEO types)
3. On an expense account. If you are a business traveler where all costs are covered by your employer, then you'll probably be ok. Beware however, that a meal at this hotel might cost you $100 instead of the usual $30. If your account can swing that, then, you are ok.
4. Maybe, if you are wealthy and can afford anyplace you like. This is a big maybe, since fast check-in is not guaranteed and locals are aware of this hotel. So, it is possible that you might be here when a horde of children is running around while the parents are relaxing in the room. If you really have the money, maybe a more exclusive hotel can avoid the noisy kids.

Although there is potential in this hotel, there were various things that could definitely be improved, and I will say that they seem to be trying but still falling short. First, we stayed for three days and the hotel is under construction so there was drilling, the balconies to the rooms were sealed and inaccessible, and there were loud workers everywhere, tools and scaffolding. Surprisingly, on Sunday morning, they started drilling at 8am and didn't stop for hours. Second, the service is horrible - pool side service especially. It's impossible to get a drink or food and when you ask for service, don't expect to get it. Then when you walk to the bar, you'll wait 15-20 minutes for a drink. Additionally, there are lots of pools: downstairs, upstairs and even a pool with waterfalls and a slide for kids. Problem: you can't escape the crowds of children. There is a beautiful Infiniti edge pool top side which seems it should be adult only, as there are numerous other kid friendly areas, but that is not something the hotel offers. Unfortunately, you have to sit poolside and worry about children splashing, throwing balls at you while relaxing, and shrieking. I will say the newly renovated rooms are very nice and the front desk is very helpful. Additionally, there is. Each access but the resort fails miserably at combing or cleaning the beach and there is not only seaweed, but trash is everywhere. I hope once the remodeling is done and Hilton takes over completely, they will make this a more upscale resort that reflects the price paid per night.
Stayed at this hotel for two nights from May 3-May...
Stayed at this hotel for two nights from May 3-May 5, directly after getting married. I ve traveled all around the States however, my husband John, and I live only about a mile away from the Diplomat, so we felt like this hotel would be the perfect, relaxing mini honeymoon that s close to home. My goodness were we absolutely WRONG.
My husband called about a week in advance to upgrade our room from our original arrangements. He also made reservations for Monkitail, a restaurant located on site in the hotel. John informed them that we will just have been married when we arrive for our reservation. He called them again, the night before to ensure that the reservations were confirmed.
When we arrived at the front desk to check in, Jamaal, did give us a free breakfast after we informed him that our stay with them was to celebrate our marriage. So kind of Jamaal!
Later that day, we went to our reservation at Monkitail. There was no table reserved for us. They squeezed us in the middle of four other couples/families at a tiny table of which was connected to the other 4 families. The server did not read the note that John called to ensure to relay to the hotel and restaurant regarding that this was our first day married. We did not receive a congratulations until the end of our dinner when the waiter came to collect our check, and John volunteered the information to the server. We did get a congrats! from the server at that point. Overall, the service at Monkitail was average, and the food was alright however, VERY overpriced.
The event that happened next to us at this hotel is absolutely DISGUSTING!
After spending one night at the hotel and realizing that all of our notes and arrangements that were made prior to celebrate, and while it was so hard to receive a simple, congratulations which is all we truly wanted after exchanging our vows, I made the attempt to spruce up our experience by calling the concierge, Joshua, to ask about Nokku, a karaoke bar we saw being advertised in the hotel. Joshua transferred my call to someone else that he informed me could help. That person immediately hung up on me, and I did not receive a call back until 25 minutes later.
After not receiving accurate information regarding Nokku, I called the manager Denitsa to provide feedback about how disappointing our experience had been after anticipating staying at this resort. Denitsa asked me what they could do to help. I informed her that there is nothing that I would like from them, but to have better service considering we chose this hotel to celebrate our marriage.
We left for dinner off of the hotels property. After returning back to the Diplomat after dinner, we went to our room to find a bottle of champagne in our room with a congratulations card, signed by Joshua.
We were so pleased- UNTIL John laid his head down on the pillow.. The pillow smelled like someone sat their bare butt on John s pillow!! I smelled my own to make sure it was okay, but that pillow too, smelled like someone pulled their pants down after a long, hot day, and SAT THEIR BARE BUTT DIRECTLY ON OUR PILLOWS, MAKING THEM SMELL LIKE UNCLEANLINESS, UNSANITARY, HARSH SMELLING, BUTT. TWO of our four pillows smelled like this. This had to of been done when the champagne was delivered in our room, while out at dinner. Our pillows were fine before we left to dinner, as we were pleased with the housekeeping job. We were so disgusted and displeased with the hotel that we didn t find a sense in even trying to fix it. We were honestly just so nervous that they would come back to our room, and do either the same thing with their butts on our pillows again, or something even worse that we possibly wouldn t be able to tell was done, as easily as the disgusting butt pillows.
Honestly, this was the most shockingly, disgusting hotel experience we ve ever endured. We did not deserve to have an employee wipe their butt on our pillows. That is absolutely not okay. GO ELSEWHERE!!

New Years timedo not come to this hotel. It was 6:30 pm and we still didn't have our room. When we got our first room there was duct tape all over the windows and no chairs on the balcony. We called down and they said we can't use the balcony. Glad We paid for that! Also, downstairs staff isn't very friendly and lost a backpack that we left with them that they hold until we get our rooms. Not recommending this hotel although they have very nice rooms.

I meant to put 4 star but couldnt change it. We used a cruise service from here. The food was good and so was the service. There were times the boat jerked hard enough to draw concern to someone falling. The circuits for the dj booth kept frying near the end of the voyage. The scenery was nice.

My husband and I spent our 35th Anniversary at the Diplomat and we had a wonderful time. The room was beautiful with a wrap around balcony, the breakfast buffet was awesome (especially the egg station with a skilled chef) as well as the parking staff who were attentive with a bottle of water if the Florida heat was a bit much ; ) Would highly recommend and may even go back in the Winter for a bit of R&R.

While this is a great place to have a convention and stay, the food in the restaurants is horrible except for the breakfast, which is absolutely outstanding. The cleaning staff for the rooms are friendly as are the wait staff and front desk. However, the front desk forgot to give both me and my roommate our wooden coins so we could get our bottled water, so we both had to go back to get them. If I hadn't stayed here last year, I wouldn't even had known about the water. So needless to say, I have very mixed feelings about this place. They really should step up their game on the food. If they took care of that, it would be getting 5 stars instead of the 3 I felt I had to give.

Hotel is very nice, great location and very friendly staff. My only negative is the nickel and diming here for little things, things what many other hotels offer as standard. Food is good, but extremely overpriced. I'd visit here for a conference, but not for family vacation. I did have a great visit, but had to get creative to keep overall costs down.

My wife and I were in Hollywood and the Diplomat for a conference. We reserved and paid for our room in full, one month prior to our arrival. The resort was beautiful, however when we arrived they said our reservation was changed to two full beds from a single king, because no kings were available. When we arrived in our room, the room smelled; the toilet was left un-flushed and nasty. We went back to the counter and they said they would give us a new room, surprise surprise, it was a king. The resort charges $25.00 a night for parking, but they offer valet parking, for an additional 7.00 per night plus tips (a great way to promote valet parking). The coffee in the room was gratis, but the coffee filter pack provided was strong but drink-able if you ran three cups and mixed them, however the room was equipped with only two cups. Additional coffee pack (if you wished to drink more) were additional charges as well. When we returned home we found they had put a hold on our credit card for 239.15 for the reservation. When we called to complain they said the credit card hold for the room would be returned in three to five days. I will say I have stayed at much nicer motels (Ramada's, Hiltons Hamilton's) for less, was not charged for parking, and never were there holds placed on my credit cards for a room paid in advance.

The good: -room was clean; -digital key worked well; -there is a nice selection of restaurants inside/around the hotel; -the gym has a variety of machines The bad: -cleaning staff did not replace the toiletries in my room daily; -elevator broke down on the 18th floor with me and several other guests inside; -I was attending a 4 day professional event that the hotel was responsible for catering, and they consistently ran out of food during breakfast and dinner; -the hotel placed a phantom charge for valet service on my bill. I did not even have a car with me (I ubered to the hotel from the airport)
