Nice place. Although, word if warning. Do not leave anything in your car when they VIP valet park out front, the staff is known to steal items left in your car over night. The hotel and location wins 5 stars from me, but the staff gets 1 star, for more reasons than just theft. Smiles are few and far between. Serious HR concerns at the Westin Diplomat.

A top-notch resort, with equally impressive staff. I spent a week here with my family (2 young children), and the resort and staff were very accommodating. A special thanks to manager Denitsa, who made our stay memorable. Our room was incredible, thanks again.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is renovating and that is affecting the use of balconies and blocking the lobby. The food is very good. New rooms are nice. New or refurbished AC units are quiet and work well. Everything looks fresh and clean. I do not like the automatic 18% gratuity on all purchases, we were told that was not the case when we asked in January. Only waking after one day here so I have not checked out the spa area.

Great time at the Diplomat! Me, my husband and three kids went in June. The kids loved it! The pools were fantastic and the beach was beautiful. Plenty of hospitality!
Our ocean front room was relaxing and spacious. Can't wait for our next stay. Highly recommend.

Dealing with this hotel has been a nightmare. One month after being there, they charged our card a second time for stay we already paid for without reaching out to us and without our consent. Now we get spend endless hours on the phone with the bank to get this corrected. Don't go here. It will be fun at first, but you will pay for their inadequacies afterwards.

Our family stayed here many times when it was Westin owned. Now that Hilton owns it we feel the hotel has lost its elegant appeal as well as service . The hot tub was not well maintained, our room towels where ripped and a less quality than previous with Westin. The renovation was not impressive. We are sad that our home away from home is no longer the diplomat. We will not be returning. The prices have gone up and the quality has gone down.

I stayed 5 days in this resort after seeing it last year.. just saying i will never return there.. booked with jet blue getaways and advised them that we needed handicap access in room..called guest services n no one answered..
.. with 2 major back surgeries there is not one chair poolside i could sit on that was high enough for my back..the room was small and the bed not comfy at all.. carpets looked dirty n the partial ocean view was on top of a roof with so much noise we had to keep the balcony door closed.. dirty beach full of seaweed.. people drinking inside the pool n eating also.. got better service at a best western last summer with an incredible continental breakfast..when complained to a supervisor upon check out all they say is SORRY.. will never return there again..parking is across the street unless u want valet.. this place was a waste of my money!!! never again..

Loved our room and the view. Poolside is lovely taking in that gorgeous ocean view truly spectacular and it s nice to have the option in a matter of steps between ocean and pool. Our kids preferred the pool and Samantha set us up every day with chairs, towels, anything we needed and plenty of kindness.

It is a great hotel and home of tbe Florida Democratic Party's annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner. In 2014 after the event I was able to stay in a suite for the night. It was amazing. The amenities are great. The food is good. The service was excellent. I highly recommend.

The Diplomat is a beautiful resort right on the beach with beautiful views and pool areas. The rooms are nice and spacious. The resort has several dining areas within the main building and also across a pathway which os on the intracoastal waterway. If you dont want to stay on the peppery, you a nearby the Gulfstream Village and the new Margaritaville resort.

The stay has been great but it was even better meeting Ashley at the front desk who accomadated us and helped us to have a great time in Hollywood. I highly recommend the diplomat but ask for Ashley.

Hotel was under construction which was inconvenient but the room interior was very nice aside from old torn bedding, a non functional iron and a hopefully makeup stained towel. Hotel also did not ask/recognize as an HHonors member or credit points for my stay.

Attended an event held at the Diplomat. The event itself was enjoyable and the atmosphere nice. The big problem was the staff at the event were pretty sub par. The employees waiting tables in my area were inattentive and somewhat abrasive. Our table was left for almost a half hour without refills on our beverages, and when asking passing waiters, we we're told huffily that when they have time they will come to attend us.

Also, validation for the event was odd. When I obtained my validation ticket, it was only valid for a 5 dollar deduction in the parking garage across the street. Considering lowest fee to time cost was $20 for 3 hours parking, it was a pretty paltry amount for a validation. I spoke with some of my colleagues after and they mentioned their validations had strange ranges as well.

Anyways, besides the place looking nice and having a good atmosphere, I doubt I would return to utilize their services after experiencing how staff and administration interface with their customers.

I have stayed here before when The Diplomat was under different ownership. Now, as a Hilton Curio property, the 100M investment is evident. Major upgrades and modern rooms. My stay was over the 4th July holiday. With a practically sold out hotel, the staffing was poor. Long line in the coffee shop with one person making coffee and running the register. Long line to get chaise lounges and umbrella. I'm charged a resort fee but still have to pay for an umbrella? Not cool. Forgot sunscreen, went to the Resort Store. Room charge? Not without a driver's license, really? For sunscreen?? Who carries their license at a resort? $42 valet parking or $8 less for self parking. SMH
Want steak during your stay over a major holiday? Not at the Diplomat! Their Prime restaurant was closed 2 of the 3 days during our stay. At least the burger restaurant was decent. Hilton Honors digital key service didn't work so I had to wait I long line to check in. Also charged me for internet service though I'm Hilton Honors gold member. Not cool, again.
Work out the issues then I'll revisit the rating.

Probably the nicest hotel I've ever stayed at, but it was not perfect. While the ocean facing room was absolutely gorgeous with lots of unique character and charm, there was no minibar in the room. The convince shop downstairs closed at 11pm (on a Saturday night), forcing you to room service or one of the restaurants. The balcony had two chairs and a table, but when the table was shifted, a hoard of cigarette butts were exposed. I'm talking a massive amount. People had been using the hollow of the table as an ashtray, and appeared to have been for quite a while. Super disgusting.

Despite these issues, the room and grounds were stunning. Very beautiful and private; away from the main Hollywood Boardwalk, but close enough for a quick Lyft.

I m on my 3rd hour waiting in line to check into this hotel. I have checked in online but cannot receive my digital key until my card is swiped. WHAT???????? 3 hours of my precious time wasted in line. I payed $650 for ONE NIGHT. And it s wasted in line. This place is horrendous. Not to mention them kicking me out of the cabana I ordered. I m an honors member and sickened by this place.

We have lived in Broward for over 8 years now and The diplomat is our go to resort when we want to have a couple of days of fun and some relax time with the kids. We have not visited in a little while until today, we were shocked on how much it has changed including service.
The check-in line was all the way almost to the doors and only 2 front desk staff doing all the check ins. It took us over 1/2 hour to check in . As soon as we got off the elevator onto our floor there was cigarette smell all over the hall. Once we got into our room one of our beds had what looked like blood stain on it..smh and hair more than just one all over the bathroom floor. We had 3 towels instead of 4 and no towel for the floor to step on after (we have 2 kids so that s a must), 2 wash clothes and no hand towels.
It s memorial weekend and this place it s way too full. We could not find chairs to sit by the Pool at all and had to sit on the floor, did I mention I m 8 months pregnant(so disappointing and uncomfortable the floor). When we went to get Pool towels both times and there were non and we had to wait over 20 minutes for the towels to arrive. It was so full of people it didn t even feel save to be in the pool we kept having to look over our shoulder and checking to see that no one had taken our beach bag. Stressful.
We paid over $300 a night and it felt like we were at a holiday inn. The room next to us we re having a party with music like a Dj was staying next door to us past midnight. I mean I have never seen anything like this. We don t mind people having a good time but past 12am come on.
I m sorry but this place will no longer be our go to get away. I rather drive a little more and head to Bonita springs or Marco island for a more quiet and relaxing time. I m giving it 3 starts because my husband asked me to be nice.

Wasn t worth the price.... the big turnoff was that the over bridge to the parking lot was closed for renovation so we had to get on the road and cross. Despite of this , they still charged a whopping $35 a night for parking
