Bought my train tickets months ago online for berlin-copenhagen. Seats were automatically assigned but 2 were seated at different section. Emailed them right away and was told I would to get to a customer service center in Berlin to get corrected. Flash forward to today when I'm actually at Berlin hbf db office. And after waiting a good 20 minutes, service lady said she can't change it and that these seats are close enough.

Deutsche Bahn is a company that always surprises. No matter how little you expect, it always manages to disappoint and stunn you again and again.

Employees are disastrous. The prices are way too high. The infrastructure is the last. The customer service is the worst in the world that I have ever noticed in any company - no matter what industry.

Due to the almost criminal business conduct, the opaque price structure, the still complete monopoly position and the state subsidies, the railway is almost inviolable. Any other company would have long since fallen victim to consumer protection or bankruptcy. Unfortunately, the mafia-like business model protects the company.

I really sincerely hope that the management of Deutsche Bahn will make further wrong decisions and will eventually rush into bankruptcy. This is the only way for investors with more foresight, progressiveness and the courage to change, to completely renew this backward holdover from a bygone era.

Incredibly rude staff at the Berlin Hauptbanhof station. If you can avoid interacting with the ticket salespeople, do so. Instead, follow my advice and show up 30-45 min early for your train out of Berlin, and talk to the people at the information desk (who cannot sell you tickets sadly) who usually speak more English and who don't go out of their way to be phenomenally rude. The ticket salesperson we interacted with not only spoke rudely about us in German to her colleague, but then lied when we asked if we needed to do anything else to get tickets after we missed our train. We then had to go back later to purchase tickets, because she had not sold us any. We purchased tickets from the other woman she had been talking trash with. It made me grateful to leave Berlin.

When this finally came an extra wagon should be reserved for us and two other classes. This one was too small and half of us would have to sit on the floor. Then came Corona!
The musical was canceled and postponed until later.
The train informed us that we can rebook our tickets, but must use them by October 31, 2020 at the latest. In the letter (e-mail) at the time, I already informed Deutsche Bahn that there was a high-risk patient among the travelers and that it would make more sense to postpone it to a much later point in time, especially since it was medically recommended. This was refused.
So we decided to rebook on October 3rd, 2020.
Now the rejection for the musical came again. The corona numbers, especially in Hamburg, are increasing and I asked the train again (email) for a customer-friendly rebooking.
This was refused!
If we had planned the trip by car, nothing would have been a problem, as everything would have to be canceled or rebooked.
I am really disappointed, almost angry, because I / we subsidize the railway with my / our tax money. In the context of Corona, more payments will flow to the railway and yet the railway does not see it necessary to respond to customers.
We / we will start the trip in October, otherwise we would shoot 580 in the wind.
But it will definitely have been the last trip by train !!
I am sorry about this because it would be a necessary alternative for our environment, but with such business conduct, the * Deutsche Bahn * no longer has any right to exist on my part!
