A couple of friends and we decided in January to visit the musical "The Lion King" in Hamburg. For ecological reasons, we decided not to take the car, but for the date 16.05. - 18.05.2020 to travel with Deutsche Bahn.
Then came Corona!
The musical was canceled and postponed until later.
The train informed us that we can rebook our tickets, but must use them by October 31, 2020 at the latest. In the letter (e-mail) at the time, I already informed Deutsche Bahn that there was a high-risk patient among the travelers and that it would make more sense to postpone it to a much later point in time, especially since it was medically recommended. This was refused.
So we decided to rebook on October 3rd, 2020.
Now the rejection for the musical came again. The corona numbers, especially in Hamburg, are increasing and I asked the train again (email) for a customer-friendly rebooking.
This was refused!
If we had planned the trip by car, nothing would have been a problem, as everything would have to be canceled or rebooked.
I am really disappointed, almost angry, because I / we subsidize the railway with my / our tax money. In the context of Corona, more payments will flow to the railway and yet the railway does not see it necessary to respond to customers.
We / we will start the trip in October, otherwise we would shoot 580 in the wind.
But it will definitely have been the last trip by train !!
I am sorry about this because it would be a necessary alternative for our environment, but with such business conduct, the * Deutsche Bahn * no longer has any right to exist on my part!
I even assume that you are currently supporting the spread of the pandemic with such behavior and even consciously accepting bodily harm, as otherwise we would not take the trip.
