Anything about the park is wonderful and a must for the bucket list. The adventure of a lifetime. From the many trails, wildlife, and breath taking scenery Denali is one of the most natural and unspoiled wilderness in the world.
Went to Denali mid august 2014, what a wonderful time our family had. Having 4 and 6 years old boys with us during the trip we were worried it might be to much for them but, we were incorrect. With all the different trails the boys had a great time. The camping area was clean and where we took shower was spotless. The people working were helpful and friendly. It was a great vacation and we will do it again, the park is so big you can never see it all.
One of the most amazing experiences I ve ever had the pleasure of being apart of. Such an amazing park, took the shortest bus tour, about 6 hours long (can t recall the name) got to see 2 grizzly bears, caribou, moose, ground squirrels, coyote and the native Alaskan bird. Our bus guy was great, John (I believe) was funny, kind & stern with his rules (I a bit late for one of the tour bus breaks) would love to do that bus tour again, and come back to this park. The doggos houses are so adorable and awesome to learn about worth checking out, limited hours so check before hand. We checked out horse shoe lake & saw beavers getting to work. I was in awe with how wildlife was bustling around.
This place is amazingly beautiful and massive. and the way this park and people have preserved the wilderness is incredible. The Alaskan husky dog sleds is an amazing way of transportation. These huskies go 85 mile to transport the stuff inside the park during winters. The air is sooo fresh there that you won t feel tired at all. Most importantly you will encounter a lot of wildlife in the park. Caribous, Moose, grizzlies,Dall sheep, awww i can t stop praising this place. This is a must visit national park. So many small hikes easy to do with kids. There are few different kind of bus tours available to see the park and Denali mountain it self. I highly recommend doing no less than tundra wilderness bus tour. It is about 8-9 hours tour.. must must visit.
How disapointing ! For 145$ you get two nights (for two persons) in a camping without potable water and without fire authorization. Rangers want to know where you go every day and behave condescendent ! We are far from the idea of liberty conveyed by this famous park !
Not sure how you can not rate this National Park a 5 star, it's absolutely gorgeous there.
Awesome adventurea to be had in this whimsical place! Highly reccomend Denali Raft Adventures!
Beautiful country, gorgeous views and lots of wildlife - grizzlies, moose, caribou, eagles, fox... Take the "green bus" to the visitor's center, worth the time.
After boarding our park bus in the early morning, we were on our way for one of the most fascinating and informative rides of our lifetime. Our driver was a true gem, and after making the necessary stops at the visitor center he headed into the park. We were driving 62 miles to Stony Point to hopefully see Denali. After many stops to see grizzlies, caribou, moose and the spectacular scenery we made to our turnaround point. Luck was with us and even though Denali had some cloud cover, we could see most of this magnificent mountain. Truly awe inspiring!
Denali National Park is one of the most pristine and beautiful places left in the U.S. We saw Dall Sheep, hundreds of Caribou, a mother Bear and her 2 cubs and 7 or 8 Moose on our bus ride to the ranger station at mile 54 of the 90 or so miles of roads in the park. We were also fortunate enough to see a number of Magpies and eagles on our trip.
Words cannot describe the awesome beauty and majesty of the place. The park service is exceptional!
Breathtaking beauty and preserved land that we need to continue to cherish for many lifetimes to come.
A MUST SEE ! Very well managed. An example of how most parks should be managed.
Lots of wildlife.
We visit The Park as often as we can. It is a 2-3 hour drive from Fairbanks. Always worth the drive.
Absolutely breathtaking, the rangers are very welcoming and knowledgeable!
Denali park is beautiful and a national treasure. Expect prices based on this being a once in a lifetime trip for most people.
We took the bus tour and saw wolves, bears sheep and more. I don't know any other way to see the park. Beautiful place
Amazing piece of wilderness full of wildlife, stunning scenery and just a great place to visit and take photos. We enjoyed the sled dog demonstrations. The bus ride is good and the driver was excellent at spotting wildlife.
Our favorite stop in Alaska, thus far... And we've only touched the surface of the East end of the park on day 1. Fantastic hikes and amazing views around every corner.
A must-see natural wonder! All the park employees were amazing and genuinely interested and involved. Such a wonderful, memorable experience!
Denali! Amazing and unspoiled. Get this on your bucket list!
Wonderful park. Take the Tundra Wilderness Tour to see all of the wildlife. Saw the "big 5" and then some. Riley Creek Campground was a nice campground. No hook ups, but there aren't any in Denali NP at any campground. We used the deck at the Riley Creek Mercantile to recharge phones and camera batteries.
Make sure to ride the bus to the end of the park. You won't be dissatisfied + get on the bus in the morning and meet Campground Gary. He's been a park resident for the last 30 or 40 years he knows a lot about the area. don't be surprised at seeing a fair amount of wildlife along your journey in along the Park Road. The vastness of the mountains will Captivate your experience and you'll be sure to meet people from around the world while you're there.
It's pretty, but full of regulations. None the less it is worth it. We've been there in the summer and in the middle of winter. Winter is real nice, we were the only two visitors the day we went. Services are very limited in winter. We got to pet the National Park sled dogs too. In summer it is a full service national park with the tour bus travelling all the way to Wonder Lake (a LOT of mosquitoes there) and a TON of visitors. The campgrounds are nice, but it may rain on you and it will be cold at night in summer. You can take the train from Anchorage to this park, and that is a nice, but expensive experience. There is wildlife here, like bears! So you have to be very aware of were you are hiking and avoid those predators. Stay away from moose too, they have bad tempers and can kill you. Please drive extremely carefully on the Parks Highway as there is a lot of black ice on the road and your rental car will not have tires that grip the ice, like the local have on their cars. Go slow because if you go off the highway, your car will roll and it will be difficult to spot your wrecked car from the road, because you will be 20ft down. A great park, and a must see if you are in Alaska. However, we liked driving East on the Denali highway better. Lot's of wildlife and no one is constantly saying "shhhhh" when there is wildlife around.
This was definitely the highlight of our trip to Alaska, did not want to leave.
It was a really great experience. You can experience the true wilderness.
We were here for 3 nights and explored whatever we could:
We reaced at around 2 pm and directly went for
1) sled dog show
2) horseshoe lake trail: just a small lake. Casual stroll. Has a bit of elevation to get back.
Day 2:
Wonder lake: takes 5 hours to go by bus and 5 hours to get back. So take the earliest bus out which is at 6:15 and 6:45 am. Tickets sell out fast. So book early online.
Thorofare trail at eieleson center: We did this quick hike as the weather was cloudy and we did not see much at wonder lake. Without the relfection of the Mt Denali, it is just a regular lake. The trail is strenous but we did it in 2.5 hours.
Day 3:
Savage alpine hike. Got a really good view of Mt Denali. Was amazing to see a huge snow clad mountain rising in midst of small mountains. We were lucky with clear skies today.
Savage river loop: really good stroll. Safe for kids and old folks. Really straight and simple.
Wild life spotted multiple times: Bears(mamma bear with its cubs) caribou, Moose, Birds. Close encounter eith a fox on one of the trails.
Wow! Words cannot do this justice. Beautiful scenery, lovely wildlife, sweeping vistas.... Mother Nature at her best.
I was working in the park in 2007. I would never forget that summer, as close ad you can get to the nature without disturbing it.
This is an incredible, magnificent place of wildness!
A beautiful Park everyone should see at least once!
Went on the extended bus tour through Denali National park in Aug. 2013. Jason our tour guide/driver was very knowledgeable & had a keen eye for spotting wildlife in the park. Even if this had been the only excursion we took in Alaska, we would have been extremely satisfied! I highly recommend a visit to Denali National Park for anyone but especially families!
Beautiful area, too bad we drove through during the first snow fall of the year. Great sights of an amazing state!
Beautiful park, love the clean and natural environment!
Breathtaking scenery and the chance to see some wild animals - what's not to love. The tours can feel pricey partly because it's just a long bus ride with intermittent stops. But if you prefer to hike, that's definitely an option that can be taken. Some very amazing views can be seen here. Recommend visiting late August, early September to also catch the Northern Lights.
Lot of trails to explore from beginners to novice. 30 minutes to 10 hours in duration. Boots on here
Great day at the park. This should be on everyone's list. Saw moose, bear, caribou. Short glimpse of Denali.
A beautiful nature haven, we'll preserved, so much so that even finding a hiking trail is difficult. The motto of keeping wilderness wild and the vastness of the park make it an amazing destination to get away from civilization and population. Don't make the mistake of not staying there for a long enough time (less than a few days would be doing injustice). It's a backpacker's heaven.
Woww
Amazing place.
Lots of wild life
The Denali Park Tor we took but beautiful we saw several moose one very close got some great pictures the guide was very knowledgeable told a lot of good stories was better than I thought it was going to be
How was that dog It was very cute. Oh I wish I could go there what a nice place to visit. I love it...
A completely different landscape than I have encountered in my travels. Beautiful vistas, helpful people...a great place.
So much to see and do! Hikes of various lengths and challenges, lots of wildlife, and beautiful views.
A true sanctuary to be protected and honored. A true gift from our God.
Didn't live up to our expectations, mostly because of limited hiking options. The closest one can get to McKinley mountain is 22 miles. On the positive side, there are plenty of wild animals to see while driving through the park.
This is outstanding, we saw baby wolf, 11 bears, caraboo, dal sheep, birds, red fox, artic squirrel, snow foot rabbits...ya gotta do it.
Nice park, but make your reservations early. Everything is booked up all summer. To see any of it you have to take a bus tour. They run from $50 to $275 per person
Impressive place as expected. Wayne was our bus driver and we couldn't have felt more fortunate! It was a perfect day...with great people...saw everything we wanted to see and more! Pay to go all the way! It's worth it
Beautiful. The Princess tour was very well done. Cannot remember the name of our tour guide but her enthusiasm and knowledge was contagious.
Mountain peaks, grizzley bear, caribou, eagles, wolf, many birds.
One of the best National parks in the country! Good trails, lots of moose and bears and definitely worth visiting for a 2 day trip. Wonder lake and Savage loop are recommended! Just make sure to reserve the buses as some spots can be reached only by bus
This was my first time going but I love it. It's a little expensive but it's a national park and Resort next to it
Absolutely amazing National Park. Highly recommend doing a tour that takes you to the end of the park road. An air tour is a must. I stayed at the Denali Backcountry Cabins at the end of the park road, which was an amazing experience.
Beautiful..... Absolutely beautiful. Someone told me that it is impossible to visit Daneli and not believe in God. They are right.
Incredible. Nothing like it anywhere else in North America. The huge vertical relief of the mountains make you feel small. The constant snow and glacial cover make them feel off-limits. But that's not remotely true. You can get to these mountains by hiring a bush plane or hiking many miles. There's no other option. The real beauty of the park is the mountains. Take a plane ride from Talkeetna to see the best parts. Skip the touristy long bus ride. You won't be able to thank me enough.
Wonderful!! Wild and unspoiled nature for hundreds of kilometers, the chance to see bears very close by. Really beautiful!
What a great place. We took a tour bus into the park and learned so much from the guide.
Absolutely breathtaking experience. Park staff are amazing and friendly. Plan for a long day, and take the earliest transit bus possible (sit on the LEFT)
