Pinecrest Golf Club Review

For a public park district golf course it does not get better than Pinecrest. There is a beautiful clubhouse & bar and the course is kept up extremely well. For $29 w/ a cart, I will be playing here often.

Wonderful concert last night. Great food and drink. Great community event. Will go again for sure.

Good variety of food service was great would recommend them to friends and family.

we held our daughter's 15th birthday celebration here. We could NOT be MORE impressed with the staff, food, and banquet layout. Patty (banquet manager) was INCREDIBLE to work with, very flexible and accommodating.
The menu options were very reasonably priced.
we had approximately 120 guest and we had more than enough room in the facility. would HIGHLY recommend for any mid size celebration.

Old well established golf course with banquet and restaurant facilities. Most notably excellent course drainage for heavy rain. This is an good above average tract well cared for but with typical bad sand traps

This is a well-maintained and very playable Golf Course with a pleasant staff to work with. Good bar and food. I definitely recommend this course for a relaxed round of golf.

Was busy, but speed of play was okay, greens were a little beat up playable, for the price I highly recommend it.

Had a great lunch outside watching some great golf.

My friends and I made this our "home" course a couple of years ago because of the price, the people, and the lay out. Always held together with it being a public course and good practice facilities. Forgiving rough so you don't have to go through a whole bag of balls on tour off day. Never get sick of playing here.

My friends and I enjoying playing a variety of golf courses in Northern Illinois. Pinecrest is truly one of the gems and certainly one of my favorites. The golf course is challenging and always extremely well maintained.

The clubhouse and facilities are great and the price is very reasonable.

What really sets this place apart from the others is the people involved in the operation and management of the course. Tom, Mike and Dennis create a friendly and comfortable atmosphere and make every golfer feel welcome the moment they enter the pro shop. The starters and wait staff are engaging and make for a pleasant and enjoyable experience.

Went for fish fry at a new place. Pinterest had the best batter without being coated or filled with grease. The seasoned fries were exceptional. I wish I could give 4 1/2 as the cole slaw was ordinary. I will definately make this my goto place for fish fry. Service was great.

Really nice course. I would come back and play again.

Course is in great shape. And as always, a challenging course. Justin in the Pro Shop and Summer in Refreshments are always upbeat and fun to work with.

Pinecrest is a Hidden Gem right on Route 62 Algonquin Road in the Huntley Lake in the Hills area.
Course is great even in bad weather conditions and the staff is excellent.

I called and asked if GPS was available on the carts and was told yes, but when I got there, no GPS on carts. Not sure if the carts with GPS were all on the course already but wish that was mentioned to me before hand.

Excellent golf course for the price. Highly recommended played way above its price range.

We were planning a shower for early April. Briefly spoke with the coordinator who said would call back with the pricing. A few days later I called to follow up since I had not heard from the individual. Not only was I told that she did not set aside the date but she forgot all about meeting with me and scheduling the shower. This is not acceptable at all so with that I will never suggest this facility. I guess the thought of one voice will not impact their bottom line, but this review will be seen by other individuals.

The gold coarse is nice, however they are following these ludicrous rules of jelly belly.

We had an early holiday party there yesterday. The food was excellent and the staff was absolutely wonderful. Everyone had a marvelous time and we will definitely return for future events. Kathy O

I had the honor of providing DJ Entertainment services at Pinecrest Golf Club on 6.23.18. It was a wonderful experience! The staff were very friendly and amazingly accommodating! They provided my company with power outside for the outdoor ceremony, and even had a golf cart handy for me to load up my equipment onto and was driven to my trailer in the parking lot to load up for a nice easy smooth transition into the reception! It felt like a V.I.P experience. The staff all worked closely together to help make sure their clients had the best day of their lives! I hope to return to this venue in the near future to give future clients the SB3 Wedding Experience!

I went as a single and got paired up with two other Chicagoans from back in the day! The 4th guy's dad grew up in Chicago too! So it was s great day and the golf course was in great shape! Birdied the 7th hole and it made it a super day!

Excellent public golf course that is better mantainined than similar local facilities.

We were here for our annual tractor club banquet. Excellent accommodations. Buffet style food was excellent, and plenty!

I've played hundreds of rounds here dating back to late 1990s. Course has come a long way, it was never a bad place to play but it's gotten a lot better in recent years. New greenskeep in 2014 was huge, greens were in fantastic shape for all of 2014. Course itself is fun, not going to blow you out of the water but it's a nice play especially for the price you can't beat it. Pace of play on weekends or on Mondays is slow, I will say they need people pushing the pace... Newer clubhouse and restaurant has great food, really nice patio you can sit and watch hole 10 tee off and hole 18 finish.

Course was in great shape pace of play was excellent. Staff was friendly as usual. Beer selection limited probably due to time of year.

Played in a outing yesterday. Course was in great shape. Greens were pretty nice as well. Tough putting for all in my group. Would definitely play again soon. I recommend for all!

Had my wedding here and could not have been more happy! The food (brunch food) was delicious, and the alcohol is very reasonable ($3 a domestic!) The event coordinator Amy was nothing but a delight and everything went smoothly and effortlessly for us. Her sense of style and decor made our day one that out friends and family have not stopped raving about, even a month later! If you are planning an event in the Huntley or Algonquin area, definitely call them!

It is a nice local course. But I'm sure are you sure good shape the green gem good shape you can have a lot of fun there. Play is a little slow because the majority of golfers are seniors.

Great value at a wonderful course. Definitely recommend playing there if you have the opportunity. Fairways and greens were in excellent shape. They have tees to challenge every skill level. Pace of play on the back 9 was a bit slow, but not unexpected on a Saturday afternoon. Great friendly staff too.

This was a bridal shower for my grand daughter. Very pleasant good food and efficient service. Nice experience

Great place to golf. Restaurant leaves a little to be desired, but the service is good.

Course was in good shape, pace of play not too bad for a Sunday. Needed a ranger and cart person!

Well maintained public golf course run by park district. Friendly staff. They offer a variety of special rates during the week.

The course was in great shape except for a few wet spots. Rough was long and difficult to play from but I guess that's why driving straight is important.

All you can eat fish fry. Way too much batter. If you remove the batter, fish was ok.
Service was not the greatest.
Would probably not return.

I was there for Huntley Goes Bald for Saint Baldricks. It was a amazing time.

Nice place to have a relaxing meal. Menu has a limited variety of sandwiches, appetizers, and desserts, but what we had ( the cheesey chicken sandwich and the Cod platter) was quite tasty. We sat inside, but there were several tables on the patio. During our dinner stay, about an hour and ten minutes, there were 2 brief rain showers. The first shower sent one group inside from the patio. The second shower sent everyone else inside. That second shower started raining heavily without warning and ended just as quickly leaving a beautiful in the sky.

The course is in great shape and the patio is open for food and drink. We had a great time.
