This is a pretty nice place, and I have to believe that it was named after that old gang from the 1800s movie with Leonardo DiCaprio called The gangs of New York.

The name alone warrants a visit and will probably have what you re looking for if you re in the area.

People rave about this place and maybe it's because they go at night? I went during the day and didn't find it appealing. I wasn't fond of the crowd, the cocktails seemed pricey and I didn't want to stay for traditional Irish music on a Sunday. Maybe I have to go back to try more items on the menu.

Ok, so this place was shown to me by my coworker. I had no idea what to expect from the outside of It. But after coming here and enjoying their AMAZING drinks and culture, this has become a regular after-work spot. Very unique, great place to chill with friends.

Easy going environment with very high quality drinks. Bring home a vial of their house bitters to add to your bar. Their menu tended towards the sweeter or spirituous side of the palate, leaving my preference for bitter a little neglected.

Maybe I just had a bad experience here. A/C was not on during an incedibly humid and hot day. I could not sit in the bar without literally dripping with sweat. I have never drank and old fashioned that fast just to get out and to another place with A/C.

We spent 15 minutes of our planned 45 minute wait at the bar grabbing drinks - at which point our second floor booth
opened up and we had the pleasure to partake in the comic book menu and several signature drinks. With 30 to choose from, there truly is a drink for every palate.

Went for a business lunch. Waitress was a bit off-putting. Took 10-minutes for us to get water even after we ordered. Food was nothing to write home about for the price you're paying at lunch. Overall, I would not suggest.

Talented and knowledgeable bartenders that clearly care for their craft. Making cocktails and concoctions from the more known modern to the classically obscure. Great atmosphere and good service. Beautiful selection of whiskeys and scotches from some of the lesser known distilleries. If you are a passionate connoisseur of well made drinks, this is a spot you must visit.

This place has changed a lot since the remodel. At least the drinks have stayed the same. Starting to feel a little kitchy and commercialized, with t shirts and gift bags being sold in the back.

Incredible. Incredible. Please try this if you are visiting manhattan! You will love the charming service and wow... the drinks that are so good you never want them to end. Enjoy as much as I did!! Thank you to Sam, our fabulous bartender.

Great food and cocktails on any floor you visit. Pork belly sliders are great, as are the fries.

First floor can get crowded (it's pretty narrow), wait staff on the second floor is very knowledgeable. Try a flagon (sort of like a jar? Of punch) if you're with a group.

Bouncer/guy at the door can be...unfunny but don't let him turn you off of the place.

The parlor (where they have the punch and long list of cocktails) opens at 5pm.

A raucous, annoying experience for a bar that resembles a Chili's. Overworked, understaffed bartenders can't seem to keep up with the immature masses swigging bud bottles and their sad version of the Moscow Mule. This place would do better in the UK. London bartenders have the chops.

A must-visit bar for anyone visiting from Ireland. Fantastic little bar that feels like it was lifted right out of Belfast (unsurprising though when the owners came from there!). Guinness is fantastic and lots of great cocktails on offer as well. Friendly bar staff and wonderful food.

The scotch eggs are very authentic, just the right kind of runny. Actually pretty much all the food is super tasty. The backroom downstairs is chilled enough to just enjoy a pint after work, and obviously the cocktails that the bar is known for are always delicious.

A real nice Irish pub to stop in with a great selection of drinks. Has a great feel with good food at typical prices in that area.

I d recommend this Irish bar to any one like myself longing for a taste of home.

Bar is cool. Unfortunately the barmaid girl at first floor has a serious problem with glass coasters. She said to me she was upset i did not use it correctly with my glass :) please relax we are here to share a good moment and not to support your bad mood. So because of this we did not enjoy as we expect our moment.

One of my favorite cozy down to earth spots in the city. Go for the awesome food, great drinks, or just the three levels of great atmosphere; 1st floor is walk-in, 2nd wait, and 3rd reservation. The place has won tons of awards and located in Wall Street area where you can take a stroll to one of the piers, chopper tour, Battery Park with a view of Lady Liberty, World Trade Center and more. Just go.

I'm not really a connoisseur, but the cocktails were very well-balanced and well-chosen; the servers were knowledgeable; and the steady vibe was conducive to enjoying the fine points of sharing a drink with company.

I like the cinematic menu and the historical theme of the place (related to gangs of New York )

Maybe it is a matter of coming in with expectations that were too high, but if you were expecting cocktails that were out of this world (and worthy of the "best bar in the world" title), well, they are ok but nothing special. I tried 4-6 of them and all of them were ok at most and easily forgettable. The service was good and the staff was friendly though (with the exception of the bouncer who was generally rude and, when I tried to take a peek into the 1st floor room because I was curious as this was my first time there, made me come down to the ground floor and explain myself to him that I was not going to go to the 1st floor without his permission and hijack the line). All in all, a disappointment.
