Definitely not worth the hype. Cocktails were good but not world class by any means as you would think. Their rules for service we're also so strict it negatively impacted their customer service. At the end of the day no matter how great your product is you can't forget you are ultimately in customer service.

We researched out several bucket list bars and watched several interviews with the bar owners before coming to NYC. They are everything & more! Thank you so much for making this a great experience! The drinks, whiskeys (& whiskeys) ) & are worth the visit!

Raising three stories high, this bar is always overly populated. Getting a seat at an exclusive second floor will cost at least an hour and a half of your time. Cocktails and mixed drinks literally take the cake here. They deserve all the praise and every dollar. Strong, tasteful yet elegant and easygoing.

The food I cannot comment on to a high degree. The appetizers are small in portion however. Prices are high all around and the spot is, like mentioned above, packed majority of the time. Definitely worth a visit.

I went here for a late night cocktail and was thoroughly impressed. In the parlor, they have a wide selection of cocktails, under a number of different themes centered on the life of old New York gang leader, John Morrissey. The decor in the taproom and the parlor also seem to evoke that era in different ways.I can only speak for the "Tammany Stalwart" and the "Fighting Irish" each of which we're delicious. While this may seem a bit too thematic, they really manage to pull it off.

Great little place I was drawn here just because of the name lol. Very neat environment theres sawdust on the floor and old english or Irish bar like music playing. Food wise I got the scorched egg because back home it's impossible to find a place that does it. Very tasty and had potatoes with veggies (good to stay healthy while travelling). My only take is my dish seemed a little smaller in portion size compared to other peoples dishes but I was happy and nourished to continue travelling

I'm sorry, I don't "get" it. I like cocktails although I am very particular on the type - not sweet and I would prefer to be able to taste the alcohol. Having been voted the best cocktail bar in the world, we thought we'd try it out.

Here's what was wrong with it, in order of noticing:

1. The crowd was very bro-y. 50% bro, 50% tourist (no judgment, I am also a tourist).
2. It was busy but we managed to get a seat at the bar. We were not offered nor given water at any point.
3. The cocktails on offer were pretty meh. Lots available if you like sweet fruity cocktails.
4. The service was terrible. There was one lady serving behind the bar and she was clearly struggling.
5. The cocktails were served in average glassware, with a straw. The ice wasn't cut beautifully, it was just ice like you would buy in a grocery store.
6. The cocktail itself was not very nice (it had cucumber and dill in it but all I could taste was the citrus).
7. The couple next to us asked the bartender if she could make something off-menu. She told her that she didn't know what that was and she could only make what was on the menu. A cocktail bar that won't make you something off menu?!
8. When we asked for the cheque, it took a good 10 minutes to arrive, after the bartender had gone walkabouts with our card.

I don't believe in speaking in hyperbole so I'm not going to give it one star. It was a perfectly serviceable cocktail bar if you like that sort of thing. I'm just really struggling to understand why this was voted the best bar in the world when places like Amor y Amargo exist. None of the above is conducive with top quality.

What an awesome little hipster joint only 5 minutes from the one world trade! This place has delicious food and are amazing beer selection and all though it's over priced like all restraunts in this area it's a quality experience worth having. Few things keep in mind low is at this place is separated into 3 stories and each story is really small so it gets packed quick. Expect a wait or a bar seat.

Four points marked out of five.

Four points marked out of five.

Atmosphere - 5
A truly cosy pub as close to a proper Irish tavern as you can find this side of the pond!

Service - 4
Staff were very friendly and helpful although seemed a little rushed around as things got busier - understandable with the footfall but just enough to drop a mark.

Food - 5
Hands down the best, whole hearted pub grub I have eaten so far in America. I wish I could eat here every single day, sadly my arteries might cease to function as anything other than decoration.

Cost - 5
Worth every cent.

19/20 cannot recommend highly enough! Just go if you get the chance!

Local on 3 floors: on the ground floor pub with a wide selection of whiskeys from all over the world, on the second floor specializing in cocktails to try and on the third floor in addition to drinks you can eat. I tried both the cocktails and the menu and I have to say they can do it. The staff are professional and courteous, prices are average, certainly worth a visit.

It gets crowded, so plan to get there early or wait for the upstairs room to open if you want seats. Love the full Irish breakfast here and the drinks, especially the cocktails , are well worth the visit

My friends and I went here for a few hours while trying to kill time before dinner. We went on Christmas Day evening and the place was so fun and lively!

Seating, understandably, was hard to come by. Luckily, we were able find a seat for our party of six after about 30 min. Drinks were good, priced on par with NYC prices. We ordered fries, which were so so good. We didn't order any other food.

Bartenders were so fun and friendly! Very jolly and festive for the day. The music was so good, a bunch of fun throwback music. Definitely want to check this bar out again the next time I'm in the area.

They also had really good daily specials and happy hour.

Delicious drinks. Definitely one of my favorite bars in NYC. It is first come first serve (no reservations) so it may be difficult to get in. But once you get in, the vibe is very on point and the waitstaff are amazingly nice
