Dimly lit and sexy with boozy drinks? Sounds like a perfect date night spot to me! I would say this place is great for a 2 or 3rd date with someone that you really like...otherwise it might be uncomfortably moody. For me, it was the perfect vibe for drinks and a date. Highly recommend!

Claimed to be the number one cocktail bar in the world. Larget Irish whiskey collection in the US (200+). Saw dust on the floor. Warm atmosphere. Classy music. Can't ask for more. Erin has been an amazing bartender. I had 3 drinks - old timer, irish whiskey highball and humble pie. All 3 tasted delicious and I've never used that word ever for a cocktail :)

A well know irish pub. Downstairs is a little grungy and small, therefore it gets packed. If you want a classy cocktail its worth being on the waitlist for upstairs. Wednesdays has live ragtime music.

Best cocktail bar in NYC.

The downstairs portion has a drink menu that you would never be able to get through in a year if going there. Their beer + shot menu is amazing, as is their grog.

The food is amazing for a tap room. The cheese plate and bar snacks are worth every penny.

The cocktail room is beyond fancy, and the staff could not be more professional and courteous. Every drink I had was prepared with expertise to absolute perfection.

I heat the upstairs has a killer whiskey menu as well.

Always busy, but a seat upstairs is well worth it. Love the bars emphasis on education of cocktails and Irish whisky. Service experience is unparalleled. Cocktails and food are amazing. I do think the cocktail menu is too long. The menu format is unique, but I find it difficult to navigate. Overall, definitely one of the best though!

Visited the bar at The Dead Rabbit Grocery and Grog on a business trip. Good beer selection and a solid menu of elevated pub classics. Clientele seemed to be a good mix of couples, groups of business colleagues and friends, and sketchy solo's like myself.

Limited menu at the moment, but what they do have is still amazing the best Irish coffee on earth and the short ribs slighters were extraordinary. The meat melts in your mouth and is full of flavor for such a simple sandwich.

An institution! A welcome to perfection and a mastery of cocktails to fade the best tender bar.
Even the dishes on the go are excellent!

Very quirky building, but full of character. Stopped by after visiting Lady Liberty, and had a great time! *KILLER* Bloody Marys, and an excellent selection of whiskeys. The chicken pot pie was insanely good as we're the lobster deviled eggs. Friendly service, and a relaxed pub atmosphere makes this a "definitely gotta go back" place the next time I'm in NYC

Favorite cocktail bar in the whole of New York City. Grab a drink downstairs and a buzzer to get inline upstairs. Going earlier in the week will make the wait time shorter to 30 mins to an hour opposed to 2+. It's an intimate small space and they keep it seated only which is nice. Share plates are basic but still nice. The chicken pot pie is huge, share!

Very impressive selection of Irish Whiskey (not a surprise) , super crowded on a weekend afternoon, I imagine you couldn't hardly get into the place after work during the week. Very classic old-New-York-style bar.

Went to the 2nd floor and while the drinks are expensive (I paid $18 for one), you can see how they are award winning and I'd say it's worth it. My group also got a free shot each that was nice.

The best bar I've been to till now. Just loved the ambience, the cocktails. I got perfect lady Royale, it was amazing and the happy hour, that was great mix of sweet, fruity alcohol. The concept of comic book as menu, with drinks getting hard as the story gets intense is just superb, and a lesson to learn quote after every story. I'll definitely go there again and again. Just amazing !!!!!

Don't let the name fool you - Dead Rabbit is actually a gastropub / high-end tavern. The atmosphere is great, the food well presented and I really wanted to give it 5 stars, but while some of dishes were excellent (e.g. the sausage roll), some were average (e.g. the lobster deviled eggs) and some were poor (e.g. the fish and chips). Service was also too busy to be attentive and it took a long time to place order, even for a late Friday lunch at 2pm.

Dont close half your bar early if you're going to be so busy on a friday. Felt like it could have been a ton of fun, good vibes, if I weren't packed in like a sardine. Plus, no "double" drinks.

Don't take reservations, doorman kept our party of 7 standing out in the cold for more than half an hour, poor service, overpriced, and top it all off, when we asked a friend to join us, the management refused, saying they "don't allow joiners".

That's fine. Clearly they don't want or business or our money. There are lots of good bars in the area--some better, in my opinion. I live in the area, and I won't be going back to this tourist clip-joint.

I loved the parlor menu. The food is also fantastic. The servers made sure everyone in our party would enjoy the crafted beverage they selected. I would encourage anyone that enjoys creative adult beverages to visit at least once. First floor offers the classics and beer if the parlor does not sound like your thing.

What a lovely way to spend Christmas Day evening. Thanks for being open!

Had the Dead Rabbit burger and fries fir dinner. Fantastic! Didn't have to put any condiments on the burger! Burger had a great smoke flavor and fries were delicious without ketchup.

The Guinness bread pudding is BEST I've ever had!

Comfy corner table by bar and Sam waited on our table.

Highly recommend and would absolutely go back!

Great little bar, was only in the downstairs part, had the red ale and Irish coffee which were just what we need after a cold day. The amount of whiskeys here is impressive. Service was great.

Such a cool hang in the middle of the financial district and right by the water. It s a tight space but fun and funky. Can t wait to be back to try food and more drinks. Btw, yes the Irish whiskey is worth trying!!!

Love it! Sleeves and Pints for Guiness on tap, and the best Irish coffee I've had. Love the atmosphere too. The bartenders are lovely. Come here at 5PM to get a seat upstairs where the cocktail and food menu is more expansive. Downstairs food and drink menu is much smaller. Come here after 5 and you'll have a long wait. We are travellers from Canada and Ireland and we loved it.

I LOVE this place! If you can, definitely put your name in and wait to get seating upstairs. The cocktails are delicious, food is good and you would not want to leave that place. The bar downstairs is pretty fun too.

It's the number one bar in the world for a reason. Have been going here since the beginning. It's gradually been getting more and more popular and it's reflected in the wait times for the parlor.

The wait staff is super friendly and eager to help you with questions if you're new to the cocktail scene.

I can't recommend this place enough, well worth the wait. Especially fun to taste more drinks if you come with a small group of friends.

If you would like to meet the World's Shittiest Bartender, come here. As you wait for a drink, she'll ignore you, flirt with guys about how she's like totally married, etc., until you get tired of it and just leave because you can't get a goddamn drink at 3 a.m. on a slow Tuesday. You're in Manhattan. Don't make the same mistake.

This place has proper drinks... Enough said.. the lower level is just an open bar pretty damn busy but a great old fashioned.. the second floor is reservation only.. TOTALLY WORTH IT. I had an amazing experience here.. if you're looking for the proper experience they do it right.

I agree with Becca. A nice place if you are a millennial. 'Greatest bar in the world?' I don't think so ... must have their buddies packing social media. Go and enjoy but get to midtown or Paris, London or even Flagstaff AZ

The place is popular for a reason. My wife would say it's the Irish coffee. She had multiple servings. The atmosphere is comfy and interesting. The food is very good and fairly priced. Plan ahead if you want to avoid a wait. Plan on going early or on off times.
