Good balanced cocktails. Tavern downstairs and cocktail bar upstairs. Still waiting to get in.
This restaurant is a unique place in downtown Manhattan. The design, colours, and the uniform of the staff their brings you back immediately to the Victorian era. They have a very nice place upstairsto dine at, and the bar is downstairs. However, they have a very unpredictable schedule for the dining area that you really should check before you go (it changes depending on weekdays). The only way to check it correctly, is by calling them to enquire and make a reservation (places are limited for dining) to make your experience better and enjoyable.
My boyfriend and I went there with some friends on a Saturday night around 10 PM and were able to easily get a drink on the first floor. As soon as we got there we put our name on the waitlist for the second floor and within 25 minutes we were seated upstairs. Both levels have ridiculously good drinks. We only got the chance to get one round downstairs, but I tried all my friends' cocktails as well and loved every single one.
Upstairs has a more upscale vibe and not a whole lot of space. We ended up getting 4 rounds here and each time a different cocktail.
Lovely time! We will be back for sure.
Generally a great place for drinks and food. It has three floors each with their own distinctive character. The only reason I dont give it five stars is the noise level makes it hard to have a conversation so your surrounded by people yelling to be heard.
They get 5 stars for drinks at the Parlor. Really well thought out comic book menu with drinks that tell the story. But some details need attention desperately . The banquette against the walls are so uncomfortable because no back cushions are provided. And if you try to sit upright against the wooden frame, you're forced to fight for space with the many picture frames. To make matters worst we visited on a hot day and their ac was not working at all. Their was no disclaimer about this made by the host whatsoever at the door. We waited about 30 minutes for a table upstairs at the bar downstairs where we had a drink while we waited. Finally we were ushered in to yet another hot box, although the host said the air conditioning was working on the top floor. We managed to sit through 2 quick cocktails before begging for our check. After paying we discovered that they had a room off to the side blocked off with chairs where the air conditioners were working just fine. In fact, while the room was completely set up and ready for service no customers were allowed to sit in the room that was below 100 degrees. How thoughtful of management to torture its customers by giving them a taste of hell!
Tourist trap. Locals don't come here for a drink. You can go the Fraunces Tavern for that.
The drinks are overpriced and the tables are too small for food. The ADHD servers insisting your water glass is full and that you MUST place your glass on a coaster is ANNOYING.
I want a drink, not catechism.
The Parlor: Exquisite, masterful and daring. An NYC *MUST*
This is one of the most creative, innovative cocktail bars I've ever been to with no shortage options. The menus alone are enough to justify the high prices, but you get it in your drinks, too.
It's wonderful. The best Irish coffee we've ever had and the food was amazing as well.
A NYC institution with excellent cocktails and decent food. Prepare to wait on busy nights.
The greatest collection of Irish whiskies anywhere..no bar even in Dublin comes close
Awesome bourbon cocktails and the best Irish coffee!
Classy bar with an interesting selection of drinks!
I read that this was a place to stop and I had 12 hours in NYC. I was not disappointed, the place was extremely busy and as small as it is, but that did not hinder anything. I had the lamb stew and it was AMAZING. I was there by myself and the bartenders were very attentive despite how busy it was, my beer was never empty. They decor is fantastic with old photos lining the ceiling and police patches on the wall. It had that hole in the wall feel despite its popularity. If I am ever in NYC again I will definitely be back. A++++
We went by after work because we had been told that the establishment won an award for being one of the best bars in the world. It turns out this was for 2016 and was not what I would have thought for something with such a lofty claim. We sat downstairs in the pub portion. The server was nice and did a good job based on the volume of patrons. The food however was nothing I would call amazing, it was serviceable but not stellar. Basic pub fare, between the three people at the table we ordered a cross section of things and none of them screamed best bar in the world. The drinks were ok, the old fashion I had was decent but again not world beating. I would say this is an average bar where one must yell to be heard and eat bog standard pub fare with uninspired but adequeate beverages.
One of my all time favorite place. Service of this place is amazing and the staff members are super friendly & polite in nature. Come to the point of decor and interior of this place that is just outstanding. Must recommend!
Great place. Awesome drinks, and the kitchen stays open till 2am!
The cocktails on the 2nd floor are some of the best in NYC. And who can beat the sawdust floored beer bar on the first floor? This place is pretty darn awesome.
Great atmosphere. Limited beer selection upstairs so go for the whisky.
This place is awesome but impossible to get upstairs (where it's more quiet) without waiting for an hour in the madness downstairs..
I'll return with my coworkers. The bill was appropriate for the quality.
Coming from Ireland and made feel so welcome by my follow irish comrades second geranation irish but still irish true an true
Called to ask if seats available, was told yes.Got there in 15 minutes, was told by bouncer no seats available. Said bartender who picked up phone doesn't know about restaurant capacity. Spend cab fare for nothing, very irresponsible. Will never go back.
The interior design with its ambiance makes this bar unique more than its cocktail selections.
Went Roth my Cousins!,Best Ale they ve ever had.Bartenders are amazing .I should know, I tended Bar for over18 yrs!
Great place for drinks and friends. The small bites are great too.
Great staff except one bartender. Great place. Always busy!
With the best cocktails I have had, plus the friendly staff and a great atmosphere in which you can feel good!
Many people. Only two girls serving the bar. Drinks good but service slow and poor
Best cocktail bar I ve been to in NY, and one of my favorites, globally. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Drinks were incredible, and so was the accompany ice cubes!
Voted best bar in the world, and for good reason. Incredible drinks, friendly staff, and a little Irish charm
Excellent cocktails. My only complaint is that it does get very crowded very fast after work, uncomfortably crowded. Worth it if you can deal with it.
Order the Tipperary -- not on their menu anymore but still one of the best they make. The 2nd floor can take some time to get into but it is worth it for the knowledge the staff has. They being said, if you know what you want in general the downstairs folks can make pretty much anything.
Decent bar in the lower level. Great bar in the upper level. Ignore the bouncer and request to go up. Love the interior.
Awesome place, have to say the sawdust is a little offputting, but the drinks and food are amazing. Thumbs up for me.
Nice atmosphere but REALLY slow... They blamed the kitchen but F!!! this is slow service.
The food is yummy, the seating is comfortable, and the staff is friendly!
Great place with nice staffs and tasty food. Love irish coffee, must try. Unique experience with something like sand on the floor.
I loved this place so much we ended up going two times in two days. The first time was this past Saturday morning for brunch. The Irish breakfast was outstanding. My friend had a burger which was delicious. The bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. We returned the next day, Sunday, after we completed the Five Borough Ride. Once again the food was great. We had a corned beef sandwich and my friend had another burger. BTW their fries are the best around. And WOW, the Irish Coffee is the best ever! The bartender was decent, a different bartender, not as good as the ones on Saturday morning. She was friendly, however, the drinks took awhile. This place has definitely been added to our list of NYC favorites.
If you like beer then this is the place to go. Voted one of the best bars in the country, plus the food is excellent too. It's two floors and if you're in lower Manhattan definitely stop in for lunch or dinner. My pot pie was super rich and delicious. The sliders and fries were equally as good.
Might be the most pleasant/amazing cocktail bar I've gone to in NYC. So much personality & effort put into the littlest details like menu material, signs, etc. In FiDi=no crowds. Perfect date spot.
This spot obviously knows how to take care of their customers. Consistently with a helpful approach. The food is conveniently priced, always delicious and clean.
Went there for Sunday brunch. The place was packed and there was only one bar woman overseeing all the action and directing the servers. There were a couple of missteps such as we got coffee but no cups. After I asked, I received a cup right away but it wasn't very clean and we had to ask for silverware after the food was served. But the servers were friendly and doing their best. The pint of Guinness was excellent and breakfast delicious and the atmosphere is always great. I'll come back again.
Terrible. Waited 20 minutes for the incompetent bar staff to poor 5 drinks. He was more interested in pouring cocktails and selling t-shirts than serving beer. Watched one guy order a Guinness, wait 20 minutes and walk out. 20 minutes later the incredulous bar maid delivered the drinks. Vastly over priced and not delivering.
Superb pub! Large selection of beers and ciders. Wood chips on the floor, this pub exudes authenticity, the impression of finding Irish pubs.
Outstanding cocktails that were very creative, but still not quite worth the $16 per drink asking price. Worth a single visit to say you've been there, and then move on to somewhere more affordable to get a buzz.
Really good bar. When we went they had some cask Ale on (which must be the only cask ale in all of Manhattan) and amazing food. We had Burgers and the cocktails were out of this world (I'm not one who likes cocktails but the Battle Annie mix was really really good.
Fantastic Irish bar with live music and great ambient
Great cocktails but with the rise in popularity it has gotten very crowded. If you have the time, ask to be seated upstairs. You will have plenty of space, the wait staff is very helpful and the bartenders make unique drinks. The storybook menu also makes for a fun atmosphere.
This was my first time coming to the Dead Rabbit. First off I highly recommend this place if your into high end cocktails. They make some of the best I ve ever had (on par with Barmini in Washington DC). The location itself is kinda hard to spot if you have never been there before, so keep a sharp eye out. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bartender was extremely knowledgeable and offers many different option, even ones that aren t on the cocktail list. The cocktails are expensive however, $18 a drink. Lastly I gave 4/5 stars due to the food. I couldn t order any hot plates due to a fire in the kitchen back in July (they are working to fix this ASAP). I got the roasted turkey sandwich which was nothing special and they house kettle chips were on the sweet side (yuck). Overall I really liked this place and would very much recommend and come back.
Had a great time the staff are super friendly and made new friends
Great bar with good food (especially the bread) and some interesting drinks that taste great. Ranked by some as one of the top bars in the world and that's hard to argue. Be prepared for a loud atmosphere and tight quarters.
The institution is just a quiet horror! It's not tasty, they bring food and drinks for a long time, it's not cozy, all food is VERY fat and disgusting!
it will be packed. it's worth the wait. try a punch, and the scotch egg.
It is an amazing place, where you can go alone, you find the company there, it is also excellent to go with colleagues or on a casual date, which is an unquestionable fact that its wide arsenal of drinks and delicious food will make you spend a while formidable.
Really nice spot. Traditional feel. Best Guinness in the city
Staff knows their grog & vibe is comfortably rustic
It's everything everyone says. The staff was wonderful. The food great, really great. Personally I found most of their drinks to be too complicated. I kept wondering if x would really go with a, b, c and d. The drink I did finally order I found a bit too sweet. And the "background" music was just a bit too loud for me. But it is overall a wonderful experience.
There are better places to get a drink. Off the beaten path. Seems like I am walking into a Disney resort themed bar than something genuine. It's New New York disguised as Old New York. Would not recommend.
Just fantastic. I was told I needed to hit this place as a bucket list item; it was true. The drinks they created are incredible, mixing mezcal and grapefruit juice... A perfect and unique old fashioned... The food was just as good too; AND the staff.
This place is a hidden gem. It has a 3 floors with I can say a great atmosphere. I recommend Deviled Egg in this location. I find it a bit pricey, but I enjoyed my stay.
Great spot.... "Hair trigger" beverage is incredible.
As advertised, one of the best bars in the world. Great food too. Love the curried lamb, shepherd's pie, and braised rabbit. Make sure to finish with some Irish coffee -- the best I've ever had! (And a great staff/bartenders, as well.) Excellent craic!
I had the cheese fries which were fantastic. They have a great selection of whiskey.
Really cute bar. Good drinks. Tasty food.
A tad pricy but location location.
