Crowne Plaza Dallas Market Center Reviews

As of June 2018, this is a 3 star hotel with outstanding 5+ star service. Just returned from a three night stay at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. EVERY member of the team were so helpful and courteous. The shuttle bus was a very useful service. All drivers are fantastic. The shuttle bus service can be used for drop offs and pick ups anywhere within 3 miles of the hotel.
The hotel is in the process of a major upgrade.
I look forward to staying again, when the upgrades have been completed. This hotel has all the ingredients for a five star hotel.

Accommodations are not top of the line. The rooms could use a facelift.

While this hotel is old and dated the staff were very accommodating. Thanks to Kelly who made our stay worth the while.

Our stay was the best because Renee. My son is 19 and works for Southwest airlines and checked in by himeself until I could get there 2 days later. She was like a mom to him, and made sure he was up and ate breakfast. Just an all around great person. She deserves a big fat raise to put up with all those crazy employees. My only downside is on Thursday night the restaurant was an hour wait on food and then ran out of everything. Put Renee in charge and that wouldn't have happened.

Absolutely the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, i would have been better off at a motel 6, you can not switch from ac to heat or vice versa without calling maintenance, no mini fride, no microwave , no exhaust fan, windows Do not open, the washer and dryer took all of my quarters , then was told they do not reimburse, the dryer ran for an hour clothes were soaked when the came out, soda machine as well took my money , off my debit card i might add, with no soda , twice, the night manager was a complete pos to me, and to top it off i had to switch rooms for a second time today because a pipe burst in the wall. This place needs to be shut down and completely remodeled, the fact that its 135$ a night is absurd! Do Not waste your money here go down the road to another hotel

The stay left much to be desired. None of these things by themselves would be a huge issue, but everything together created an unsatisfactory environment. The room was not well cleaned with chunks of granola or something visible on the floor. The full sized beds were uncomfortable and sunken I'm the middle. The room didn't have a hair dryer and it took 20 mins to get one after we called downstairs. Then there were a bunch of smaller issues that aren't worth mentioning individually. It wasn't a horrible experience, but it definitely wasn't desirable.

Great service, excellent facilities and convenient!

Stayed here at the end of October for a small getaway. Kelly at the front desk was very accommodating and I cannot Thank her enough for that. The room was a very comfortable size, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Yes, the hotel does need a little update, but to me Service and comfort is more important.

I highly recommend this hotel to any group for events or even a small getaway. We will be returning here in the near future.

The hotel was ok but they lied to us!!! We called before booking, asked if the shuttle went to the American Airlines Center for the Garth Brooks concert and they said yes we do and it quits running at 10:30 so they could not pick us up that was fine. When we were ready to go they said we don t shuttle there during a concert . We said but we called and they said they would shuttle they said sorry!!! Then they said we will take you to the train depot and you can go from there. Then we asked well you just lied when we called didn t you? and they smiled and said yep we did. We should get our money back but I know that won t happen. But I can guarantee I know a bunch of people that go to the Market in Dallas and I will make sure everybody knows how bad they are. It will cost them more that our night s stay.

I arrived to check in at 12 although, check in is at 3pm. At 3:30, my room still wasn t available.

In my room the heating did not work well ... and it does not include breakfast.

This place is disgusting. It's so old and dingy! I can't believe they would let people stay here. It is embarrassing! No A/C, No blackout drapes, No refrigerator, and what it does have YES THE MUST DISGUSTING Urine smell ever in the bathroom, TOO MUCH FURNITURE!! You can't even walk through the room!!! The a/c is so loud wish I could post video!! But Here are so pictures

Clean area with lots of lightning. It's also easy to find from the freeway.

Dirty! Toilets barely flush, everything the in the bathroom is rusted, bathtub doesn't drain properly and fills with water when you shower. Mirrors and windows all dirty. Weirdest people you'll ever see... Only nice thing was the view. 3.5 stars maybe when it opened... Not anymore. Oh, called to have a late checkout, the lady picked up the phone and I had to wait while she finished what ever conversation she was having before picking up the phone, I started asking about late checkout and was quickly interrupted and told no.

Dirty, old, smelled musty and moldy. Gave me a head ache the entire time I was there. I wrote them an email detailing my disgust and they never responded. Do not waste your money on this one. Not worth it at all!

They have remodeled and it looks really nice. But they so way to much! They have the snootiest staff and for no reason might I add!

I would seriously not recommend staying at this hotel for several reasons! During our stay, we were moved to 4 different rooms for reasons including stains on the bedding, waking up to water covering our bathroom floor from a leak, having no cold water at all and could not take shower due to scolding hot water only, toilet not flushing, bed sheets not changed, room not cleaned regularly, dirty floors, faucets in bathroom sink putting out black water due to clogs in sink and air conditioning not working in some rooms. We felt like we had to constantly call the front desk to have things fixed. When making reservation, they stated they had renovated rooms. However, when we got there they were in the middle of renovation and only had a few floors finished. In addition, they had no restaurant. They used a conference room as a make shift restaurant. The make shift restaurant as well as the hotel was not very clean! The elevators were also in need of repair. They shook every time you rode up and down in them. The staff was friendly. However, the managers were not at all apologetic for the inconvience of all the room changing and horrible circumstances. We were there for a tournament and those in the renovated rooms still had troubles with air conditioning not working and having to change rooms. I can honestly say it was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever encountered. We will not ever go back to a Crowne Plaza in any city! They clearly don t care about their customers!

Lobby is clean but the rooms are in need of an update. Walls are thin and you can hear the plumbing loudly from the adjoining rooms.

It was OK but the room was dirty and the breakfast was not good for something that I'm paying for and the awards that I signed up for sucks never will stay at any of your location I should have just went downtown for the price I paid.

This was a host hotel location. Overall, they were good but the hotel seemed slightly dank. I think they need to re-carpet or clean their heating and cooling filters. The restaurant was pretty fast and attentive. Parking was free, so that is the major plus for staying here. I would stay again for an Express Deal but not on purpose.

Nice hotel but could use some updating/renovation. The wallpaper in the bathroom was had bubbles and some of the fixtures had corrosion. Television was a wee small The bed was comfortable and ac worked quite well. Overall a good hotel that just needs some updating but considering the price quite good.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. My room was clean and beds were comfortable. The facility is well kept, but my only complaint would be the noise. The hotel is old and you can hear everything. Cars on the highway, every move other people are making in adjacent rooms, anything going on in the hallway, tv's in other rooms, and conversations people are having. I had to leave and buy earplugs to be able to sleep.

Nasty! Nasty! Nasty! We paid over $200 a night and this hotel was disgusting. Unfortunately we were with a cheer competition and did not have many choices.

We got in our room and immediately noticed dirty bedding. We went to the desk to receive a refund to leave. We were told we had to wait until the morning because the reservation manager was not available. The competition started early and was a big event we had no time to chase doown the manager who was gone by the time we returned.

The man at the desk was very unprofessional and began yelling at me when I in no way raised my voice or was even being rude. The other lady at the desk was very sweet and you could tell by her expression she was embarrassed at his behavior.

I see many reviews on here and their answers is "We are being renovated", however clean sheets and bad service have nothing to do with renovation.

We had to go to target and buy it blow up bed because the pull out with so nasty there is no way my daughter was sleeping on that. It was unusually cold and Dallas the room was freezing even though the thermostat was set at 82. It was obvious that the people who made the decisions were in no way trying to remedy the situation.

Stay away from this place even after renovation because 95% of the staff is awful and their standards are low low low.

Every month I send my employee to this hotel for work and her last experience was horrible. I advance pay every time and I emailed to credit card authorization letter plus my DL with a pic of my credit card. We never had a problem until this last Sunday the new guy would not let her check in at all so I had to find her another place to stay. For 6 months we have been staying with no problems. This is very disappointing and we have always loved Crown Plaza but never again in Dallas!!!! Very poor costumer service...

Management was very friendly and helpful in resolving a reservation issue. Very pleased with the outcome. Room was clean and well appointed. Will definitely return.

Stayed here for a conference. The AC didn't cool properly in my room or in the conference rooms. The breakfast buffet was 16 bucks and the food was only average. Service was good and the location was relatively close to downtown/ nightlife if you wanted to go there.

Great service, great views from the room. Interior of the hotel is a little dated, but it adds a certain charm and character to the building. I definitely recommend staying here.

Definitely a 1 star experience. Giving it two stars for the price. Disastrous from check in until almost check out. I was checked into a room that wasn t completely clean and hadn t been inspected. The housekeepers were actually cleaning the room as I got off the elevator. After finally getting into the room and relaxed for a quick nap after driving 7 hours I was awaken by who turned out to be the housekeeping manager who walked in with his card without knocking on the door. He questioned why I was in the room and had an attitude . I called down to the front desk who told me that he was the manager and checking rooms. They informed me that the agent who checked me in gave me the wrong room but they would change it in the system. The next day I left out around noon to enjoy my day in the city only to return to a room that wasn t cleaned. Apparently the housekeeping came into my room and placed the do not disturb sign on my door because she didn t want to clean my room. As I was planning on hosting a small cocktail business meeting in my room this was embarrassing to say the least. Lastly the breakfast buffet was pretty simple and basic. Nothing special .. My server was great and attentive though which I appreciated. Just disappointed

They are undergoing construction and have no laundry room

I booked a week in advance for a weekend stay just to pull up to a closed hotel. They need to update the ihg and Google sites to make travelers aware.

It was fine for a couple of nights and for the price. Not my favorite hotel but I only stay here once a year.

Hotel is going through major renovations right now. also, it seems to be very basic for a Crowne plaza property. Parking is free though right off interstate 35.

This hotel is old and desperately needs renovating. Carpet should probably be replaced. The elevators have funky odors, too. Our room's AC was hardly working. We informed the front desk and was told the engineers would look at it immediately. What did said engineers do to "fix" the problem? Well, it was never fixed and all they did was lower the thermostat to the lowest possible temperature - which did not fix anything. The room was still muggy and warm. Also, when we called to ask which train station to get off at for the Dart Rail, the front desk failed to tell us it would still be 2.5 miles from the hotel. Did not offer the hotel shuttle service or any other options. Aside from friendly staff, there wasn't much to enjoy at the Crowne Plaza.

The front desk lady is nice and welcoming. We have a room on the 19th floor and it is nice. Clean room, the bell hop helped us bring our bags to the top floor, and they gave me a small cute bag of ice since the ice machine is out. Drinks are so good! The bar tender made me a Mo special.... the Bristol Bar & grill has 2 TVs set on sports (love it).

Nothing was exactly wrong, but for the price, nothing was quite what we expected.

The place seemed very dirty. The conference room we had was nice but the hotel itself felt below standard.

horrible customer service. I stayed there 3 nights my heat did not work, they charged me for the technician to call me, they food servers didn't wait on us and we stood there waiting to be helped for almost 30 minutes, we didn't have a shower curtain, and our linen on our beds were filthy!!! The front desk person ronzelle or whatever his name is, is rude as hell. this place is a hoot and I would recommend it to a dead dog!

My family's favorite place to visit every time we're in Dallas. Their very respectful, and they know how to treat disabled and children. My baby girl loves this place.

No mini fridge *L*, rusted and ripped furniture *L*, breakfast not free*L*, no ironing board and still didn't get one after I called for one*L* , swimming pool was green and dirty *L* , elevator needed WD40 or something *L*.....5 Star L's across the board...as soon I walk-in my room all I wanted to do was cover up the doorway with a towel, take the batteries out of the all the smoke alarm, and light up just like the old days as I would at a roach MOTEL!!!

I didn't stay but from the looks of the hotel (on the outside) it looks very nice. It looks clean...as a hotel of such stature should.

Great location and nice rooms. Business office was good with computers and a printer working well. Food was way overpriced so ate out. Breakfast not included here. Pool was barely heated and no hot tub.

Smelly and old hotel. Front desk slow and rude. The shower head is not working. Two working people opened the door of the room to do work after I checked in.

This was a decent location with out complications involved in the stay.

Our A.C. was broken in the room....reading 92 degrees, but felt like 92.....what a bummer, double beds were full size vs queen, so be careful not to roll over may end up in the floor.

Odd small vertical window behind the whole wall of curtains with blotchy dirty window. Overall room size is on small side. Difficult to contain water from ending up in bathroom floor during shower. Hairdryer hidden in black bag shoved back too far to be seen on low vanity shelf. Asked for one, one was brought after much ado by housekeeping not fluent in English. It didn't work. When I was sopping up water so I didn't fall down in wet bath, I finally saw hairdryer bag. Pool is pretty small and cloudy water and kids enjoying steered me from it.

Pros. Pricing for the area is good. Endless free parking in very large lot including for buses, RV size large vehicles. Complementary bottled water in fridge near front desk. Breakfast buffet was fine, lots of options. Food quality was not bad, unlimited food and beverage plan with gracious offering of to go cup. A real lobby and various cozy seating on 1st and second floors for out of room relaxing. Small service bar adjoined to restaurant. No bug, mold, stain or anything egregious seen in room or common areas. Bath products provided were good quality, shower head and water pressure was extraordinary. Overall, I would stay here again and eat breakfast here even if they have raised that price since my stay.

Dirty, out dated but for the Groupon price, not terrible. They charge you a $100 deposit if you use the Groupon but not if you don't, no clue why? If you book throiugh Groupon does that mean your an unfavorable guest and bigger liability? Just odd. Room smelt bad, TV was old, carpet stained, microwave on top of desk, small fridge plugged in randomly on floor.

Elevators weren't working. TV was broke. Customer service was non existent.

OUTSTANDING customer service!! Housekeeping inadvertently threw an item away (it looked disposable but wasn't supposed to be) When I got back to my room, I called the front desk and Ms. Betty was on it!! She got housekeeping to find it, sterilize it and deliver it to my room with a smile, all very quickly with a sincerely apologetic attitude.

The property is older and could use some updates (like the dated ceramic tile in the bath) but the price is more than fair. This is definitely an exception to the "get what you pay for" rule. Rooms are clean, pleasant-smelling, and well appointed. Staff is friendly and pay attention to the details (washcloths and Kleenex folded into flowers and floors vacuumed daily) Furniture is solid wood and there are plenty of accessible outlets.

All in all a very pleasant stay, Far more than I was expecting.

The room was clean, comfortable and convenient. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. However, the staff at the Bristol Bar & Grill were exceptional! Rated separately I'd give the Bristol five *s: food and service were great!

Dirty and despite the time being renovated they are still sub-par, even if the company seems really proud of the design. Likely they will increase their rates and the already over priced hotel with be just reduction.
