Crowne Plaza Dallas Market Center Review

No heat in room, no hot water in shower. Good location for Love Field, but needs an update. Front desk notified, stated room heat wasn't turned on for entire hotel.

Good place to stay but old in the way that it was built like 50 year's ago

Very clean. Quite. Indoor pool. Microwave and fridge in the rooms.

Even though there were problems unforeseen, the management worked hard [especially Jorge] to make things right. I was definitely feeling better about this trip towards the end! Would recommend the Crown Plaza at Market Center to friends and family.

The rooms were nice. Pay attention to the breakfast/buffest, as this is ~$11 unless you "make the list". I have no clue how this works and they don't explain it, but it doesn't make you feel welcomed.

I also got attitude from the desk staff for not being high enough on the rewards program, which I did not appreciate and was enough to make me avoid a stay here on future business trips.

The visit was pretty nice. The air conditioner wasn't working properly but the maintenance man after the second car finally came and fixed it.

Paid 250 for two nights A/C does not work. Had to go buy a fan from wal mart.

Clean room, friendly staff, but room service took the towels without replacing them, and multiple calls to the front desk went unanswered.

This was by far the worst hotel I ve ever stayed at not only did the elevator not work. I ve had better FREE breakfasts at holiday inn and 2 star hotels then this place that charges 15 bucks for it. They charged the card I put on file to hold the room and the other card I actually paid with so now I m trying to get the other money back from the first card swiped but the finance guy is never there. Worst hotel I personally ever stayed at, and this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel lmao.

Nice place I can't complain much. They have provided great service at front counter. Bar area needs update. I've stayed multiple times. Keep up the good work.

Stayed here 2 weeks ago. Nice hotel. Clean and I was happy about that bc Im VERY picky. So after inspecting the room there was a sigh of relief. The room was spacious and comfortable. Staff greeted me with a smile on my way in and out, very polite. Checking in and out was easy. The Cooper is hidden away which I like, yet it was close to everything. Perfect location. This will be my hotel of choice anytime I visit Dallas.

Staff was great. Hotel Looks so different compared to the pictures online. Cleanliness can definitely be improved. Gym and pool is not what we expected. It stunk in pool area. It would be nice to have a refrigerator in the room and complimentary breakfast.

Room was very run down but was willing to compromise because of the price. We weren't in the room for more than 3 min and saw bugs crawling on bed. I took a pic and a video brought it to the front desk and ask for a refund because I wanted to leave. They accomidated my request with no problems. So they get a 2 because 1 is the lowest but customer service after the bugs was great.

Rooms were clean and quiet. Check in for group of 100+ was effienct and they were well equipped to handle us at breakfast as well.

Hated this place. The staff is very unhelpful and, in some cases, downright rude. We requested a mini-fridge and were told no (there is also no microwave in the rooms). We requested a bed change after our daughter vomited everywhere and they just brought us more sheets. We requested late check-out which they allowed, but then cut off our room key, so we had to get new keys just to go finish getting the rest of our things! The rooms aren't that nice, the place is outdated.

Very clean and quiet room. Hallway and lobby had an awful smell however and breakfast buffet left a lot to be desired.

Stated on September 21, 2018. Presently open while being renovated. The front side of the building looks like the property is closed. The entrance is on the rear, check in & the restaurant are on the second floor. The room that I stayed in was partially redone; some items were new, but others were not. The service was friendly. The room was nice and quiet. I will try it again once the renovation is completed.

This was by far the worst hotel I've EVER stayed in!!! After a long drive from Baton Rouge, LA. Where to begin.....We walked in and the hotel smelled very old and mildew. I went though Priceline, which I probably won't do again, and was booked for 2 "queen " beds. Found out they were full sized beds. The Manager Kelly was super awesome and very friendly. She did a free upgrade with no hassle. Went to my room later that night because I had meetings so I actually didn't unpack yet.....smelled like mildew and weed.....the pullout couch bed had stains on it like 10 children and 5 dogs pissed on it.....the bed sheets and comforter had what appeared to be blood stains and yellow stains......carpet was stained! I was disgusted beyond disgusted! Called front desk and George was extremely friendly! Switched room to 7th floor....which I was TERRIFIED to ride those old a$$ elevators but that room was better! My daughter, fiance and I didn't get to sleep till 430 am and I still didn't cover up with the sheets and comforter! This hotel is definitely not a 3.5 star and they seriously need new towels, sheets, and comforters! As well as replace the pull out couch mattresses! I gave it 2 stars for Kelly and George! They were great!

Parked there while out of town. Shuttled us to the airport. Very cheap price.

So it's dated, it's not even classy dated. There is rust on a lot of metal parts. The AC reeks of mildew. I walked in the room and there is a 4" hole in the carpet. The room is small but thats not a problem. Looks like they replaced some tile in the shower, but it's so old that color don't exist. If you want an inexpensive room this is your spot, if you want nice or updated then this is not the spot for you.

Loved the conference I attended there and the staff was friendly! I also loved how they gave you a little welcomne spa package with lotion and essential oils to relax. Hallways were a little under par (like the smell?) Not bad just a little off and the elevators were creaking and making popping sounds and I was on the 15th floor I think so walking down the stairs wasn't ideal. All in all it is a Very nice hotel!! I would go back.

The Crown Plaza was under renovation during our stay there. It smelled pretty mildewy and our room wasn't ready for our stay; no towels in the bathroom and there was only one trash can in our room (in the restroom).

Carpet had stains on it but overall the hotel was a nice place to stay. Bed was comfortable & plenty of pillows. I stayed in a king room and had a sofa and chair. Shower was nice and the soap provided smelled nice.

Good overall hotel but old and a little disorganized.

Needs some updating. Very old decor and even the rooms have a CD player instead of an iPod dock.

The hotel is dated but well maintained. The staff was very kind and responsive. The breakfast buffet is lovely and fairly high end with some of its selections. A beautiful Christmas tree in the lobby was a hallmark of our visit.

I always enjoy going to Crown Plaza. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. I also love the renovations.

Access on and off of the Freeway can be inconvenient. I-35 northbound is the only easy off and on ramp.

It s an older property that is under renovation. However, I was freaked out by the roach that was crawling around on my alarm clock. When I called front desk they asked me if I want engineering to come get the roach and I was offered free breakfast...umm no

Nice room. Breakfast was chaotic. But overall it was a nice stay.

I had to give it a "star" to write this review. This is an honest review. I am here staying now due to the fact that day 1 guest were in the lobby complaining about their awful stay. Front desk told them if they cancelled the manager would not give them refund. So I stayed. I have been here for 3 nights so far and it has been a living nightmare. YES they will say they are doing renovation, but that has nothing to do with the uncleaness and odor. The pool is filthy, the fitness room is unsanitary, and the elevators or threaten . The bar is outside in a hallway. My water was off for 3 hrs today. I had to go and tell them to turn it on. Housekeeping is a JOKE. They do go through your things and take your tip. I am just being honest despite the lying from front desk, telling people on the phone there is no renovation going on. YES it is and they are not refunding once you reserve a room. I have never had this experience before from Crowne Plaza. Shameful.

Room was very clean if a little dated. The wifi was decent. Great value for the price. I will stay here again next time I visit Dallas

The room and service was great for the price. Everything was great except for the hallway to our room. It smelled like an old cat litter box. Such a strong odor could be be ignored.

Not staying there never again, I got 4 rooms for a weekend family trip and let me tell you they do not respect "Reservation" we reserved 3 double rooms and 1 single room got only 2 double and 2 single because we arrived around 11:30 pm and they guy at the front desk said there wasn't no more rooms with 2 beds, according to what he said it's a first come first served basis, I finally got a double bed for the second night but man that first night just killed it for me I had 2 kids my husband and my pregnant self as you can imagine could not sleep in a 1 bed room, anyways, never again for me.

This place is disgusting and smells of animal urine and feces.

Some of the carpet was ripped up in my room (where the carpet and tile in bathroom met) and caused me to step on carpet tacks several times.

Though the hotel is 'smoke free' it still smells of smoke and there were cigarette holes on the couch. My clothes smelled horrible from the hotel.

The hotel is very dated. Their breakfast is $20 and very subpar. I wouldn't pay $5 for it. Spoiled salmon, stale bagels, watered-down orange juice from concentrate.

Not a great place to stay ended up leaving and going someplace else.

Staff was a little snotty. Asked several times to be changed to a different room without any luck. Air conditioner ran constantly, freezing us out of the room.

LOVED our stay here. Comfortable room, great service, awesome shuttle driver and bartender, great breakfast! Will stay again!

This hotel badly needs remodeling which they had just started when I arrived. My room smelled like something was burnt and the ceiling was peeling.

Suppose to be a 3 1/2 star hotel. Its more like a 2 star. Old furniture in room my bed sqicks just a old hotel. Crown Plaza needs to a shame of them self for having this dump.service sucks. Shuttle bus will take forever. Not a good location for out of towners. Google maps need to revisit the area.No restaurants in the area only a Jack in the box.

A/c sucks, old dated hotel, 1 bartender serving company meeting was very poor planning by management. Hope we never come here again!

Under transformation; but when room is not attended towels not changed when requested floors not sweep in public areas something is wrong . Not up to Crown Plaza standard s.

Nice Motel to stay at close to DFW Airport, clean and closed inside Motel right off the Freeway

This place has the potential to be a great Hotel. However, until they are able to have clean rooms, working air conditioning and genuine customer service it needs to shut down. The room that I was in was recently renovated and missing alot of wall art and the bed was terrible. The walls are also thin but the overall ventilation throughout hotel is poor.

1 computer checking in hundreds of people. That took about 2 hours. Had to wait in the elevator line to get to our room for another hour. This place might be ok if it's not busy but this was a catastrophe. Literally could not go to the lobby or to our car due to the elevator being so backed up. I've stayed in many of these hotels over the years but this was by far the most terrible experience ever. I would have rather stayed at a cheaper hotel that ran efficiently.

Park, Sleep, Fly here is good. 14 days vs much shorter times at other hotels. Evening receptions on Tues & Wed. Restaurant & Bar so you don't have to go elsewhere if tired from traveling. Shuttle to love field. Rooms ARE dated, but only staying 1 night b4 flying, that's not a big deal.

It's under construction so the management was on top of every action made by guests, anticipating questions before asked. Room was nice and we got the top floor room which was great because my daughter was excited about being high up. He also gave her a drink from the for sale fridge and refused the payment.. great experience, can't wait to see the finished work, I'll be back to note the changes.

Great staff, but there the hotel cooling fan on top of the building resonates throughout the building is very loud in the rooms and makes it impossible to get any rest.

Had to switch rooms twice. 1 st room saw the Huge Roach. Snd Ron had blood on the sheet ands cover. Omg

The hotel itself is run down with loud freeway noise but the staff is amazingly good with customer service that is hardly seen anymore. The property itself I wouldn't want to visit but I want that staff at every hotel I ever go to.

This is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. I'll start with the pros. The staff is ok. Helpful and friendly. They have a 2 hour happy hour on Tuesday and Wednesday. That's it. When I got here the ac was set to heat. For some reason their ac/heat can only do one or the other. They have to send some one up to change it manually. So I sweated my butt off for 24 hours they came and fixed it and by the end of the week I was freezing. There were holes in my sheets and it felt like sand paper. The bathroom door was falling apart. There was a hole in my carpet. The sink didn't drain well. The mini fridge didn't work. The sad part is I could keep going. Let's just leave it at this. Stay somewhere else.

Decent hotel for business travel, but not much to write home about. Wouldn t stay here again unless I needed to for budget reasons.

Staying here while in town for work. The remodeled rooms are modern and very nice. The beds are brand new and you will get a great night's sleep. There is a nice restaurant and bar. The customer service here is by far the best that I've ever received. Everyone you speak to is terrific and personal. Quick room service and complimentary water bottles.

Fantastic location. Rooms seem a little out dated with older furniture, but it was very clean and we'll kept.

EveryThing was great up until the guy at the front desk Named George working the night shift had a horrible attitude towards all guest, he never greeted us not once. We kindly asked for towels and we were told by George in a rude way that that this hotel has no more towels . So with that being said we were left with no choice but to walk back to our rooms dripping wet slipping all the way pass the lobby to get to our room from the pool. Another incident with George he charged into the snack room and was nearly yelling and us for no reason all we were doing was trying to get a late night snack and he treated us as if we were going to steal. I do not appreciate how this man treated us with no respect what so ever. I am highly disappointed!

Lacked customer service
Decided to eat at the bar ,waited for acknowledgment because bartenders were busy eating wings that a patron brought in.
The gentlemen with the wings were happy, all their drinks were comped.

This experience has been absolutely HORRIBLE! Our air conditioner did not work properly in our room, the whole 11th floor smelt like pot! Even one of the employees was joking with us saying they smoked too much and then wanted to change his story when we informed him that we did not like it. The reviews I read and the photos made this place seem much better than it is. We have never had an experience like this any where and we will NEVER come back! I have asthma (hence why we stay in non-smoking places). We were given the options to check out another room to switch and it was hotter in there than it was in our room but the air conditioner in the hallway worked better than the rooms. I DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE!!

By far the worse hotel I have ever stayed at! I am from out of town, drove 8 hours to stay at the hotel. Had plans at 5 pm. Requested an early check in. Got there at noon, was not ready came back at 3pm, which is check in time and guess what! MY ROOM WAS STILL NOT READY!!! They went to clean the room and it was still occupied at 4pm!! Will never ever book with this hotel chain again!

Service was great, the rooms were a little small and the beds were uncomfortable.

Clean rooms, comfy beds, and is located close to several great restaurants and shopping.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. We had a stand-out waiter for our meals. His name was Juan. He couldn t have done more for us in every way. He was attentive to our needs, had a lovely sense of humor and did everything he could to make sure we were well taken care of. Probably the best waiter ever. Loved him.
We had a wonderful two days at your hotel. Will definitely be back. Amazing value for the money. Thank you, and thank you, Juan. We ll be looking out for you on our next visit.

Staff was friendly. Room was not the most up to date. Was missing curtains and heat didn't work.

During my stay at this hotel the staff had apparently thought it made sense to allow a motorcycle group to host a rally/meet-up in the front parking lot. Guests were subjected to a constant revving of engines and excessive rap music playing from early afternoon until past 3:00 in the morning. The event continued until about 10:00 the following night.

I challenge anyone but the deaf to try and get a good night sleep. I also question the decision making abilities of a hotel staff that feel it makes sense to host this type of event in the first place. It's as if they though "Hey, people don't really come to a hotel to sleep".

Unkempt entry; torn wallpaper near elevator bank; carpet in lobby to elevators is worn, stained; elevator cars, all four, had worn, dirty or stained carpet, dirty doors, and some guest (s), apparently, took this condition as an invitation to leave behind their litter; mold in tile grout in our room; faux wood mirror frame in bathroom was severely degraded, appearing as though it had been gnawed upon; faucet lever was totally inappropriate for smooth operation of water flow; cable service for TV went off a couple of times during our 2 night stay; TV position and size not conducive to viewing grom the couch or chair; clock radio/alarm was useless, as after 5 minutes of trying to set it and tune it, I was unable; toilet was not a water conserving type; blow dryer wall mount was not installed, but anchors were in the wall, torn wallpaper; shower curtain too small to keep water from pouring onto the floor; confirmed, prior to arrival with the hotel, that a handheld shower would be in our bathroom, in a accessible room w/king bed, to our astonishment, this type of room was not available, nor did the hotel have a handheld shower head w/hose available to install, instead, the hotel offered us The access to adjoining room, for an unknown purpose because that room did not have The accommodations for which we were confirmed, either.
The icing on the cake is that this overpriced property didn't even have the courtesy to include a Continental breakfast.
Overall, at the rate we paid, we were very unhappy with this outdated, rundown property.

Nice rooms, nice hotel bar, friendly staff, very convenient airport shuttle to love field. I'd stay here again.
