Miserable, run down hotel. But at least the bed is comfy.
The AC didn t work, the floor had dust accumulated around the floor, behind the dresser, and mold on the ceiling in the bathroom by the tub. I found artificial rose petals pushed under bed. Dust was on everything. This was not a very clean place to stay. I wish I could upload pictures.. if you have allergies DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT STAY HERE.. The only reason I gave them a 2 Star is because the staff was very Pleasant and they gave me a free breakfast for two..
Don't rely on their airport shuttles... It's posted that they go every 30 minutes but that's far from reality. Staff's also not helpful at all in helping you with that. Good luck!
Rooms were nice and indoor pool is a nice touch. Good service
Room was nice but A/C said 60 when it was clearly 70+. Breakfast was pretty good, nice young African American chef. Pillows were awful. Bed was good enough. House keeping came every day and did wonderful, overall good experience, not great.
If my room is an indication, this hotel is in dire need of an upgrade. It's starting to show its age and doesn't measure up to what I expect from a Crowne Plaza property.
This hotel needed a facelift. There were minor details - peeling wallpaper, watermarks on the bathroom ceiling, etc, that were totally fixable. Food wasn't worth the price either.
No cold water, construction going on false advertisement.
The whole fourth floor smelled like marijuana and cigarette smoke. Management did nothing about it. My room was super hot and I set my air conditioner to 60 degrees but it never made below 79 degrees. The bathtub drain was clogged. The bed was comfortable though!
Even under construction the staff was nice helpful and the Room was Queen definitely recommend. Once the construction is over it's going to be a dream
Great van service to Love Field, comfortable beds, friendly staff
The outside of this hotel and lobby looks very nice. I am in the Dallas area for business and was quite disappointed when I arrived to my room. Over all the room was nice, however no ice machine on ANY floor worked which I was ok with, the staff was very accommodating and brought a bag of ice to the room.
However, I found large chunks of hair on the floor in my room. I asked for a vacuum that day which never came so I got it up myself. Im normally pleased at this chain... but this time I was not. I will be frequenting this area for the next few months and will be looking for another hotel to stay in.
Terrible place to stay! They have bedbugs in their rooms. I ve got beaten by this creature several time(picture attached)..
shower and sinks clogged as well.
You wouldn t want to stay in here!
At 4:30 in the morning they gave us another room and the sink in this other room was clogged too. Water got to the level of the counter top after brushing my teeth.
Stayed a couple nights during a tradeshow for work. The hotel is dated and has seen its days. Shower curtain wasn't long enough so water went everywhere while showering. While the mattress and pillows were comfortable, the whole bed frame was slanted and uneven by a few inches which made sleeping a little rough. Could have asked for another room but was only there for 2 nights so I put up with it.
All the staff were friendly. Just seems like ownership doesn't really care all that much about the place which paces the burden on the staff. But like I said, all the staff were friendly and accomodating. Probably the only reason I gave it 2 stars as I'm sure you can find better amenities elsewhere.
This hotel is my favorite choice when I visit Dallas. It's always clean and the location is perfect.
I imagine this hotel was very nice at one time, but had been neglected and could use some tender loving, the bed was nice, memory foam. But no fridge the shower didn't drain fast and a 5 min shower looked like bath. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was pretty good...
Clean room, comfortable beds, friendly staff. While breakfast was not included in the price, the breakfast buffet was well worth the additional cost; food was fresh and well cooked.
Staff is very friendly. The shuttle driver was courteous, engaging & helpful making restaurant recommendations for specific types of food in the area. The air conditioning doesn't work right. Maintenance told me only the 3rd & 4th floors have the updated actuators but when I moved to a 3rd floor room, the thermostat didn't keep the room cool either. And this is the 2nd day of April.
Misconceiving property, not the Crown Plaza that I know. My super 8 and my days inn is much more updated. No air or heat in any of my 3 rooms.
I've stayed here three times in the last 7 years when I've had occasion to be in Dallas. Big parking lot, easy access to highway. People that work there are nice.
The room seemed clean although it had a musty smell. The hot water kept running out forcing us to shower with cold water more than once. The worst part is that we got stuck in the elevator in between the first and second floor with a group of young children and adults for about and hour and a half. We tried calling the front lobby with the speaker in the elevator as well as using the emergency button but neither of them worked. My girlfriend got lucky and for a second got service on her cellphone which allowed her to call 911, otherwise who knows what would ve happened. We tried to address the issue by talking to Renee, the lady in the front desk but she made it very clear that it was not her problem and that we had to speak to the general manager. She told us she would have the GM give us a call at noon but that didn t happen. She also said that she didn t think we would get a refund as we had already gotten a complimentary $20 breakfast even though we had $100 worth of sushi that had to throw away after it spoiled in the elevator. We tried calling the GM but had no answer. We also left voicemails with our contact information but received no call back. It seems as the elevators have been an ongoing issue for a while, which makes no sense as why they are still operating. This was an inconvenience as it ruined our Valentine s Day plans. Our last option is to contact the tdlr and file a complaint. Anyways this has been my worst experience in any hotel stay ever. I recommend that you look elsewhere for a hotel.
Very poor smelly hallway, service very poor . unprofessional staff.
Our stay at the Crown Plaza was great. The restaurant and bar had good food and drink specials. The rooms were clean and comfortable. If I'm ever in Dallas I would definitely stay again.
Dated - needs refresh / renovations. Staff is nice.
The experience was great and everything was clean. The only issue we ran into was the cleaning staff that we met spoke absolutely no English to explain what we needed and be prepared to pay $16 per car on top of paying for your room. The staff at the front stated that they don't own the parking garage connected to the building.... Money on money. The stay was real nice though
The hotel room itself looks like the images online. It was really spacious and had an excellent view. The staff were friendly and helpful. The elevator reminds me of the scene in Charlie and the chocolate factory when they break through the glass ceiling (insert the look of awkward fear on Charlies face). It would be nice if they offered a shuttle to DFW. I think it was really centrally located spot that made commuting easy. Oh and they had complimentary water and tooth paste (that I didn't pack).
Cleam room. Great staff. I love the bar and the bartender
Clean and comfortable INSIDE, and the room was very quiet. Substandard location (transients nearby, drug activity, and the staff warned that they were not responsible for theft several times the first day). Catering and front desk staff were great. Restaurant food and service were okay, but the food was only satisfactory in taste, and not a good value. Miscommunication regarding pricing for breakfast buffet and whether included with the room
This was thought to have been resolved until I received the bill upon checkout. Front desk took charge off of bill. Internet disconnected frequently. Housekeeping did not replenish used items everyday, and moved personal items. A/C was impossible to adjust, had to turn it off so I didn't freeze, and then the room air became stale and had a burned electrical smell. Not worth the money. I will stay an Holiday Inn Express next time.
Alot different from the Crowne Plazas that I am use to. It is a little outdated but overall it was a pretty good stay. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was nice and clean. Although I di not appreciate the woman knocking on my door and then immediately entering.
Did a one night stay here with my girlfriend and it was far from a good experience.
Upon arriving to our room, the bathroom was very dirty. There was hair in the shower, sink and on the floors. The room was also very muggy, even after having the AC running for a few hours. We didn't go complain since we knew we wouldn't spend much time in the room.
My girlfriend and I were in town for an event and left the room around 3:30pm. We had been gone all day but my girlfriend decided to go back to the room a little past midnight while I stayed out with friends. When she got to the hotel, the key didn't work and she was told by the front desk that we checked out at 5pm. That wasn't possible as we had been gone the entire time and it wouldn't make sense for us to check out a few hours after checking in. One of the managers who was there earlier in the day was finally called on the phone and admitted to the mistake made. My girlfriend was finally let in after 25 minutes of going back and forth with the front desk staff. They never apologized and acted as if nothing had happened.
We checked out as quickly as we could the next morning. I wouldn't recommend this place.
Beautiful hotel and the customer service is outstanding
Hotel carpets smelled and was given a room with 2 full sized beds not queen size. Decent location about 10 minutes from downtown. Very dated facility that is undergoing construction. There was NO security safe, microwave, or mini fridge in room. Asked for late checkout and given an extra hour for free. Schedule a shuttle for anywhere within 3 miles and to Love field airport only. Employees at front desk were friendly.
Old run down hotel, I need of a remodel...holes in walls, in a sketchy area...staff nice and bed was comfy...
charged a friend for a thermastate that was not there fault.. our room very disty and staff was whatever
Kelly was so helpful making this a memorable New Years Eve. Comfortable room and wonderful views.
Clean good hotel HOWEVER it does smell like an old hotel carpet is dated and so are fixtures it was probably nice in the late 90s but in need of an update This wasn't something to knock them for it was nice clean good bar restraunt and food.
The hotel has a very modern interior, and their snack area is huge. The rooms are very clean. The only con is there was no soap to wash my hands, so I had to use shampoo. I love the showerhead.
One of the worst rooms I've ever had at an IHG managed property. There entire bldg reeked of cigarette smoke and the lighted mirror in the bathroom arc'd and shot sparks the only to me I turned it on. The staff was nice and professional, but the room was not good.
I came here for a meeting. This is an older hotel but it is centrally located so it has a great location. Meeting rooms were large for our group but issues with AC and cooling the rooms. They served us breakfast and it was great.
Wonderful wait staff, excellent reception, very clean rooms
Stayed for a night. Beds were comfy. Would recommend.
Don't do it!! Hotel assistant at front desk, rude as hell. One night stay, 100.00 incidentals fee still not returned on my card and I only paid 69.00 for the room. Dark gloomy room and hallways, prostitution on the street, security guard smoking cigarettes and looking at you crazy! Never ever again, checked out and went to the Double Tree and its was impeccable!
This hotel was under construction and had quite a few junkies standing on the outside of the hotel. The view from the pool was neat but the room was not all that
The room was ok but the hotel location is terrible and difficult to navigate. The hotel is under construction. Couldnt even get into the lobby, had to go around back. The pool looked like a scene from Ghost Ship. The lights were rusted and falling, pool was cloudy with God knows what and dont get me started on the smells...... never again. Oh. And there were bugs.
Awesome view and wonderful cocktails. The bartender Mo took care of us.
I was only here to see a friend what hotel was in great condition the room seemed pretty nice and the front desk staff was very helpful and very nice
Crappiest hotel staff every. Juan and his night manager are about as rude as you can get. Customer service means nothing to these people. I will sleep under a bridge before I ever stay at one of these hotels again.
They need to tear this place down and rebuild from the ground up
Great place to stay if you need a shuttle to/from the airport. Lots of good places to eat within ten minutes.
Under construction. We were in a "completed" room, but the ac had soaked the carpet and didn't get cool the entire night. The staff was wonderful and they get a 5 review!
Service was very personalized and friendly. I was in a newly remodeled room which was very nice. The rest of the building was a bit of a mess at the time due to remodel.
Great hotel for the price needs microwave and fridge. Ricky from the restaurant staff was awesome he was always friendly and helpful. Will stay again when going to dallas
Though they were under renovation I sure wish to have had laundry and a mini fridge.
Clean for how old the building is. Staff was nice but disorganized.
Rooms were Ok. Breakfast was quite good but expensive. Exercise room was very outdated.
Room was extremely hot & humid
No room service breakfast menu
Phone in room not working
After staying at this property for 9 years, without paying to park....was made to pay this year for the first time in 9 years.
The hotel was undergoing major renovations and the rooms were old and run down. I will not repeat this experience. I had had positive stays in Crown Plazas before, but this place was the pits and should have been closed.
I stay here quite often the rims are always nice very well maintained the staff is excellent I cannot praise this location enough I've never had a bad stay at this hotel
My husband and I used the crown plaza for parking and shuttle to the airport, it's what we usually do. We have not yet stayed at a Crowne Plaza yet.Not sure what his name is who drives the shuttle (bald African American guy who looks like comedian J.B. Smooth) He was absolutely professional, great guest service. When we arrived at Love Field he gave us the business card to call when we return so we can be picked up, In the 24 years that we have been traveling that has never happened ,we always have to wait forever on someone to come get us from airport even after we call. If you guys curb side is that great we can only imagine what the service is inside. Crowne Plaza keep doing that great guest service.
The stay was not what I expected. Other than the Bistro Restaurant and Housekeeping Supervisor. Nothing else is worth mentioning....... Hotel itself was not what I expected. Looks are deceiving.
Insanely old hotel. Elevators were scary. Our room just looked dirty because everything was so old. Taking a shower took ages because the water pressure is so low. The only redeeming qualities are the nice staff and the good view due to the hotel being a tall tower. Be aware that their pet stay fee is 100 dollars per pet per stay. In the vicinity I recommend LaQuinta across the freeway, it's brand new, cheap, clean, and pets stay free.
I've stayed in many hotels in this star rating and flagged with this hotel's name. Although the experience was positive overall, I was disappointed with the age and condition of the building itself. There was a definite older feel, and hallways had a slight musty smell. The room was very clean, but the toilet didn't stop making noise the duration of my stay.
The sheets on one bed were the rubbery type you're supposed to put over the mattress for bed wetting. Pillows weren't lumpy but a bit over-inflated for my tastes. The breakfast buffet looked appetizing, but was an additional $xx every day.
If you're able to get the room at the Hotwire rate, then it is a good value for a safe and clean hotel. If you have to pay retail, you're probably better of going down the street a bit!
Pro's:
*No Fee to Park
*No 'mandatory' valet
*Clean
*Exceptional staff
*Good bar/restaurant
*Room service was very quick
Cons:
*Visibly older building
*Musty Smell in upper hallways
*Maintenance issues
*Paid breakfast
*No Shuttle from DFW
Clean rooms, great service, free wifi and bottled water. 10/10 would stay again
Fix the heater in the main areas! Your employees do not deserve to be freezing the way they are! Unacceptable.
Great service!!! After the Comfort Inn next door to this hotel treated us lime garbage it was actually a blessing we we're able to stay here. Everything has exceeded our expectations!!
Property is under renovation. Looks closed from the front. Rooms were clean, staff was helpful, but I had to get new key cards every day.
Excellent service ... a bit old, there was no hot water but everything was clean, the staff very helpful and the food very good ... the ice and coke machines did not work but the staff immediately attended to my needs ...
