I am giving this shop a 2 star for the reasons specified below....
I bought a 2014 Honda Accord Sport form Oliver George, great salesman no issues there!! Since I bought the car I was offered free oil changes and tire rotations to 36,000 miles. Joe D. is the tech I always deal with when I bring my car in and I can surely say Joe D takes really good care of me. I regret getting the free oil changes and tire rotations here. The issue I have is with the technicians in the back. My tires are now chopped due to the technicians not rotating my tires, now I am out $530.00 for a car that has 30,000 for new tires, I was told I need to purchase new tires. I know my tires were not rotated because I marked the tires with a whiteout pen to see if they were getting rotated, needless to say the techs were telling Joe D its good to go. I hate the fact that Joe takes good care of me then is lied to by his own co workers. Honda of Southpoint this issue really needs to be handled in order to keep your customers. I would not recommend your car being serviced at this location.

I wrote this review on a Thursday, to my surprise a gentleman did call me from Crown Honda of Southpoint in response to the above review the following Monday. I explained the issue to him over the phone, his response was that Crown Honda of Southpoint does not run their Service Department this way and apologized for the inconvenience. He also stated that I needed to give him 24 hours to make this issue "right" because he wanted me to be a continued customer with them. Needless to say I have yet to hear from him since Monday.

I am boosting my rating from 2 star to 5 star for the reasons below:
I did receive a call from the GM in which he directed me to Tony, service supervisor. I was taken care of very well by Tony and Joe D. at Crown Honda of Southpoint, Tony did research my information and fixed what had gone wrong. I could not be more pleased with how the situation was handled. For this reason I will continue to bring my car to this location for further services. Great Job Crown Honda on sticking to your word, this was a true customer satisfaction experience!!!

Everything was ok I guess. Except for the fact that they sent me a text review of the charges i would incur but then when the final bill came there were other subcharges added on of small parts they replaced. I asked my sales guy why the prices were different and he said it was a computer issue that it didn't show the charges and that it has happened before. My thoughts are if this is a common problem, then it needs to be fixed. Its not ok for me to be thinking I'm paying one price and then have to pay a larger price.

I had the pleasure of working with Mr. George and Mr. Prinsep. Every time I sent them an email, they replied back within a few hours during business hours. They were very patient in answering all of my questions and were willing to negotiate within a reasonable price. They were always honest about their price and never once deceived me with hidden costs, like some other dealerships have. They also gave me a great price for my trade-in. Ms. Brown at finance was very helpful. She explained all the documents that I was signing and answered all of my questions. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience with Crown Honda of Southpoint at Durham, North Carolina. I wish they were the only dealership that I had to deal with. I contacted around 10 Honda dealerships around North Carolina via email, asking for the best quote for 2016 Honda Civic. Some did not reply at all, some gave me ridiculously high price, and some lied about their price. If you value honesty and fair negotiation, you will not be disappointed at Crown Honda. If you have unrealistic expectations, you will be disappointed wherever you go. I will definitely go back when I need another car and will recommend Crown Honda to anyone I know who wants to buy Honda.

The Manager of Honda Distributor of Southpoint, Mr Tony Puccio is excellent. Has great people skills and works hard to please customers. He knows his job, his honest and makes the customer feel at ease and before you know it, you have made a deal! I have been going to this dealership from the time I came to NC in 2009 and I have always been treated very well. Mr. Puccio is a hands on person. I recommend this dealership highly.

Josh in service did a great job of making sure that my Honda Fit received the updated airbag replacement parts after a recall. He helped get me a rental car to ensure my safety in the interim, and was a pleasure to work with. Service was fast and courteous.

Parts department said they wouldn't cut my key bec...

Parts department said they wouldn't cut my key because it wasn't a Honda key (even though earlier they said they would and could). Something about the "hard metal in my after market key tearing up their drill bits."

I have a strong suspicion it had more to do with their not being able to extort me for a $100 key plus a $75 programming fee.

Honda can do whatever they want, it's a free country. But I will not patronize this dealership if I have any say in the matter.

I brought my 2013 Honda civic to be serviced at Crown Honda, and they went out of their way to ensure that my car was fixed properly at the best price for me. Daniel did his best to see that everything was taken care of for me. I was having problems with the fan motor and although they did not have the parts on hand to repair it, he followed through with ordering the necessary parts and called me to let me know when it would be in, and to make an appointment to get the necessary repairs done.

The reason we came back to purchase another Honda at Crown Honda, Southpoint after buying a '19 Pilot last year is because the exemplary service provided - Joe DeFrancesco, Service Advisor - and unparalleled Sales Support - Thomas Garnto, Sales Representative. I guarantee, when we are ready to replace our current vehicles, we will come back as return customers because of Joe and Thomas. By the way, our previous vehicles, Odyssey and Accord, were purchased at Flow Honda, Burlington. Needless to say, you have significantly better Service Advisors - Joe and Sales Representatives - Thomas.

I tow vehicles in there on occasion, and over the years, I have always been recognized fairly quickly, in spite of the crazy pace the service personnel have to take to try keeping up with all their customers. Unlike some dealership service departments, I don't leave feeling like I had to put on a song/dance to get someone to receive the car/keys/space number/owner's info, so that I can get back to my next tow.

Today Gerald Butler was my advisor...my experience is always great working with him as my advisor...whenever I come to Crown Honda I always look for him to assist me. Today Gerald was at the end of his shift but he stayed over to assist me with my vehicle concerns. Gerald had my vehicle service completed in under an hour...he is always kind and professional. We are new to the area and went to Crown Honda to get our 2011 CRV Honda serviced for oil and tire checks. Charles Melella was very helpful in getting the service done and even got the service van to bring me home and back when the job was done. They even washed the car and I got a coupon online for free windshield wipers. It is a very comfortable place and has a nice waiting room if you do stay during the service time.

I came in @ 1pm for a 1pm appointment, the service guy told me 2hrs. It s 4:14p & it s still not done! My whole afternoon is wasted waiting! This is the longest wait experience ever! Not coming back again, not recommending either!

Let's see. My experience here has been an awful one. The last time I was here, I had an appointment and was only getting an oil change, and it took three hours. I let that slide because they were busy. Another visit, I was getting a tire, which they said they would have by the time of my appointment, and I waited here for a very long time. They gave me a free oil change at least so I appreciated that. That's why I decided to give them another chance when I got a coupon about an oil change. The coupon, upon inspection of the mechanic, wasnt the price I was going to pay, since mine is full synthetic. OK, I can understand that, but then that liar told me it cost forty and that my coupon is for five off. Another reason I have dredged back here even though the wait is really long is because a full synthetic oil change here has always been thirty five. Icing on the cake was they opened early, so my showing up early was in vain. I decided to show up early to get a chance maybe because setting up an appointment doesn't work. I will not be coming to another Honda dealership for service if they treat customers. this way.

I had the worst experience with this place! My Honda would not start so I reluctantly had it towed to this Honda dealership as a last resort because the mechanic that I generally use couldn't fix my car. They charged me over $300 for diagnostic services. They told me my car was fixed, I picked it up, and 3 days later the same issue occurred with my car. I towed it back to them. Again Crown Honda told me my car was fixed but when I showed up to retrieve my car it would not start. The representative told me that the manager would not allow anymore work to be done on the car, that I needed to come get it off of their property, and that was it. Since I paid them for diagosis but I did not get what I paid for. Furthermore I incurred more expense based on the initial faulty diagnosis with the tow BACK to them.
I have called numerous times and the service manager has yet to return my calls. This place is the worst. Do NOT trust them with your car! I'm giving them 1 star because it won't let me 0. I have spent over $500 dealing with them and I got 0!

I just moved to this area from Virginia and was very happy to find a reputable Honda dealer with a good service department. I highly recommend Crown Honda of Southpoint.

Pleased with my vehicle, but incredibly disappoint...

Pleased with my vehicle, but incredibly disappointed over the past 3 years with the service department's false promises and overall lack of customer service. If a business sells you a car that includes free cleanings, they should actually be able to provide free cleanings without having to wait 5 hours. If you try to make an appointment for your free cleaning, they don't take appointments for that. If you ask them about the best time to get the free cleaning, someone will tell you 7:30 AM and when you show up at 7:30 AM you'll be told that the cleaning employees don't come in until 9:00 AM.

If a business tells you something can be done in 5 minutes, they shouldn't tell you to come back later for the 5-minute service unless you want to wait 1.5 hours. If a business tells you your car will be ready in 10 minutes, you shouldn't have to track down the attendant after 30 minutes only to discover your car is parked out front and your keys are missing.

Tip to others: Don't pay them $140 to change your air and cabin filters, it's easy to do yourself.

Service person (Micheal) was very helpful. Service was done well and on time. In addition the windshiel wipers were replaced and my 2012 Odyssey was detailed gratis. Even with 121,000 miles it felt like I was driving a new vehicle. Thank you all!

I had a great experience with Crown Honda. Charles Royster and his team made the stressful process of buying a car a very smooth and comfortable experience. My girlfriend and I went to several dealerships (including Honda dealerhsips) and Crown gave us the best experience. Charles was very transparent and educational about the options I had while not being pushy about us making a decision. I did not have the same experience going to other dealerships afterwards, and we were hoping to find a good deal with Crown Honda so we could work with Charles again. After a month of looking, we personally asked for Charles again, and inquired about a 2018 Honda Accord. He kept his promises from the initial visit, got a good trade-in deal with his manager, and he did not strong-arm me into buying a car without knowing my options. I ve had my car for a couple weeks now with no regrets, and I rarely give out reviews unless I had a memorable experience. Thank you Charles and your team for all of the help, very happy customer right now!

Service Dept is the worst I've experienced in any setting as an adult. Refused to give me a loaner, lady in the service dept hung up the phone on me even though I wasn't rude and never raised my voice. I said "This is why I am never buying a car from you again" and she hung up the phone. I've actually never had a good experience at this service dept, but this most recent visit was deplorable. Based on this experience and buying two cars from crown honda at south point I may never buy another honda again (I've only owned Honda's) and am switching to Toyota.

It took from 10:30-3:30 for my service (oil change and balance). I thought my car was ready around 2:30 but was told that a tire was somehow damaged so they had to change it...

My daughter and I took the shuttle to Southpoint Mall. We called for someone to come and pick us up. I heard nothing for over an hour. I had to call back before someone was sent to get us. i try to avoid Saturday appointments for this reason. I don't want to be there all day. I schedule for a Wednesday and it's worse.

Had to take my car in for a recall. Super easy to setup appointment. The whole process is actually super simple They stayed in contact the whole time, sent text to keep me in the know with what was happening and pick up and payment was very easy. The only thing that I didn't like is dropping your car off to the service area tends to take an excessive amount of time. Seems that they should be able to fix that solution easy enough.

Other than that, always happy when I have work done there.

I have had great experience with Crown Honda of Southpoint but my most recent experience was lacking. My bill shows a complementary car wash that didn't happen, and I'm unclear if the oil change even happened, even after waiting for 2 hours. I question whether the oil change happened because they didn't replace the window sticker that tells me when to get my next oil change, my "Maintenance Required" light is still on, and my mileage hasn't improved the way it typically does with fresh oil.

Have been using Crown Honda for service since moving to Durham a year ago. They have always been great! This time around it was a basic oil change. Made an appointment over the phone, came in and was taken care of right away by Tom. I was out in about hour or so and appreciate the great service.

I walked in with no appointment to obtain a spare key. As usual Charlie got me right in. When it was done I remembered I had 1 week left until my inspection grace period expired. Without a frown, he said they would promptly do that! While I waited for this service I worked with my mobile hot spot in the private cubicle. Thank you Honda!

Let me start by saying that I am a Honda fan. My previous car was Civic and now I have Accord. On the other hand I am not a fan of Crown Honda, especially their service dept.. Forget about number of experiences where you have to wait for more than a couple of hours after being told that your car would be ready in an hour, i want to inform you about my last three experiences.
Apologies for the long review but here it goes!
First experience, I went for oil change and tire rotation. After service, I was driving home and I got low tire pressure indicator. I called Honda and they said may be the mechanic forgot to reset the tire pressure button and explained to me how I can reset it. They also asked me to drive for 4-5 miles after reset before the indicator goes away. I did all that and the indicator didn't go away. I tired that process several times over a week and never worked. Finally, I took my car to Honda and they tried the same thing and of course it didn't work. They took my car inside their shop and my wait began. After an hour I asked if there is any update and the manager went to check and they hadn't even started working on my car. After some time they told me that they had rotated only rear right tire to front left and vice versa. They had NOT rotated front right and rear left. Since front tires and rear tires were different mileage, the car was giving tire pressure error. What a lousy job! How can you rotate only two tires and forget the other two? There is no second tier quality check? They rotated the other two tires and pressure sign went away. But this was enough to plant a doubt in my mind about the quality of their service. How can you be sure if they actually did what they were supposed to do? I would just trust they actually change the oil. I don't check, who does? You wouldn't know if they actually changed oil or not.
Second experience, I had an accident and my car was in Hendrick body shop. Hendrick sends the car to Honda to get it inspected and checked if post repair everything is up to Honda standards or not. I got the car back from Hendrick and my memory seats were not working. I took the car back to Hendrick and they said they have not touched the car door since there was no damage to it. But Honda did check the car door to check if the computer system is working fine or not. Apparently, Honda unplugged the connection for memory seats inside the door and forgot to plug it back. Hendrick guys opened the door and fixed it for me. Awesome Crown Honda right? Wait, there's more.
Third experience, I decided to give Crown Honda a benefit of doubt and took my car there for 60K mile service, oil change, annual vehicle inspection and to check slow leak in rear left tire. The service guy told me that he would check if they can fix the leak or would need a new tire. After few hours, I got a call from him and he told me that I would need 3 new tires (including the one with leak) or my car would fail inspection but they prefer that I would get all 4 replaced. They hadn't checked if the leak could be fixed or not, they just wanted me to replace 3 tires. I said leave the tires, just fix the other things and I will get my car inspected somewhere else. Next day I got my car inspected at another state certified inspection facility and my car passed with flying colors. Well I could get intimidated and replace all 4 tires for no good reason but I guess I know them too well now.
Never going back to that place again.

This actually was my second visit. The first time was four days earlier, but they didn't have the part needed for the recall. I wasn't happy about having to come back, but the service manager was very nice and offered to wash and vacuum my car to make up for not fixing it the first time. This pleased me very much. They kept me posted while I was there on the progress being made also. Thus, I was most satisfied.

Simply the absolute worst sales experience we have ever experienced in BOTH of our lives.

Tried to sell us a vehicle at above market value and then act like the $2K "discount" was them doing us a favor? Marketing gimmick check.

Sexist and condescending towards my girlfriend, the woman trying to buy the car? Check!

Tried to convince her she couldn't take it to an independent mechanic for inspection when she first went to look at it? That's a big ol' check.

After insisting we take to a mechanic and get it looked at he relents...and then when we return with the report indicating near $3000 needed in repairs because of bad maintenance, they try to convince us AAA was just trying to get one over on us! AAA! One of the most reputable and well regarded companies in America! That they, NOT the dealership were lying. He's the one that recommended that AAA in the first place! Suuuuuure. More dishonest? Check.

Even so, I counter offered at half price considering the EXTENSIVE repairs the vehicle needed. And here comes the best part: The salesperson says "BYE!" stands up, walks to the middle of the salesroom floor full of people, and begins taunting us, insulting us, mocking us.

We were going to pay cash money for the vehicle, 1 day out the door. But not at the ridiculous price they were asking. Especially not when that much repair work was needed just to make it safely driveable.

Dishonest. Insulting. Horrible. Simply the worst. That was our Crown Honda of Southpoint experience.

My only point of frustration with this location is...

My only point of frustration with this location is the extremely long wait times to get an oil change. 3+ hours is ridiculous, and I had an appointment. I've taken my Honda to this location several times and found this is a common occurrence with Crown Honda's service dept.

Other than that, they offer great specials and are typically friendly, just be prepared to wait a while.

I went in having researched what was wrong with my vehicle. While there, I had them do oil change and inspection. I figured around $250. They did the inspection and oil change, correctly diagnosed the problem and since it was simple, only charged for the part! So happy to have an honest dealer!

When we purchased our Pilot a couple of years ago ...

When we purchased our Pilot a couple of years ago the finance manager was deceptive in what the extra extended warranty covered. He made it sound like we were basically prepaying the maintenance. I learned that not to be true as soon as I needed regular maintenance.

The folks in the service department are nice, but everything takes long and is overpriced. I had a 5:30 appointment for an oil change, tire rotation/balance and new windshield wipers. The work was not complete until 7:15. Even though I bought the tires at Honda a few months ago, I still have to pay for the balancing (rotation only is included) which was about ~$34.95. I had a coupon for the oil change for ~$26.95. I did get my wipers for free, but was charged almost $8 in shop fees for who knows what. The next day one of the wipers came off (while in use) because it had not been installed properly. So basically what I thought would be an one hour appointment costing about $30.00 turned into an almost 2 hour appointment costing close to $80.00.

When I reach there they will tell no stock. 4 days they repeated same story and wasted my time . On fourth day they replaced my tire with wrong brand without telling me. It was a disappointment for me

Just had the most amazing experience...needed to service the engine of my minivan, which could have taken 3 days. Joe had it rushed so I wouldn't be without my car for that long. And he is so very nice! Everyone I spoke to was helpful and courteous.

I came in for B12 service plus transmission fluid exchange , rear differential service, and to get a strip of door trim reglued to the door. My service advisor, Joe Defrancesco was was there to greet me and work with me in getting my work order set up. Joe's professionalism,honesty and courtesy are above and beyond that which I have experienced from most service reps. He is an asset to Crown Automotive !!

My best car buying experience ever! Friendly, professional, no nonsense staff allowed me to make the decision without a hint of pressure. The transaction was a breeze, not rushed, not drawn out. What a refreshing purchase. Be sure to ask for Ahmad Haidariya (sales manager) or Walter Sturdivant (sales dude) for a relaxing, even fun time picking your next Honda.

I am very happy with the service I received. Phillip was very nice.

I am extremely surprised Crown Honda of Durham has not implemented COVID-19 health and safety standards for customers waiting for their car to be serviced. A customer should not have to sit outside while they are waiting on there car to be serviced unless they want to. I had to sit outside for health and safety. They only clean and disinfect lobby once a day, and not after each customer. I think customers should be given something to cover seats, Chairs should be 6 feet apart, etc. to ensure health and safety. The one star is for the lack of health and safety procedures.

Writing this from the customer lounge as I wait for a recall issue to be fixed. I was told yesterday that I would be provided with a rental but when I came this morning they said I had to set those details up in advance (which is what I called to do last night and was told I was all set) and that it was a quick fix so I could sit in the lounge and they would get me "in and out". I've been waiting for an hour. I actually don't mind the wait (the coffee bar is appreciated) but the attitude I received when I came in and just now when I checked on how much longer it would be, is disturbing. First of all, there is NO SIGNAGE to indicate to customers the process of checking their car in for service. So as I pulled up in the lane and got out to check in, I received many looks until I asked someone if I should stay in my car..."uh, that's easiest" was the condescending answer I received, but not one of the MANY staff members who shot me the look offered that info; no greeting, no "ma'am please stay in your car and we'll be right with you", no courtesy, just looks and a short, pompous response to my inquiry. Again there is no signage to also indicate how far in the garage you should pull in, so as I'm slowly inching up, I motion to the person sitting behind the printers if I should keep coming or stop here...she looks at me annoyed and finally puts a hand up to just stop. Again, no smile, no pleasantries, just a hand motion. It wasn't much of a wait before another staff member approached me to check in but as I explained the situation, he looked confused and said I needed to have made those arrangements before today (which again, I did by calling and confirming the day before). He mentions that they have the part, and I can take the vehicle home today because they'll get me in and out. Like I said, I've been waiting over an hour at this point and when I just checked, the sideways, impatient look and tone I received is really frustrating. I was expecting to drop the car off and drive to work on time for a meeting, but instead I'm waiting and apparently disrupting staff when I asked a question. Everyone seems really cocky and unpleasant which is just resulting in poor customer service and maybe a lack of staff morale from what I'm observing. Some training or different expectations on how to welcome and serve customers would be helpful. For now I'm hoping to be able to leave the this place very soon.

After being told the part was in and I was waiting for it for over two hours, I had to check in yet again only to find out the part wasn't actually in and they would have to put me in a rental from enterprise (that they then had to drive me to chapel hill and pick up). So in essence they made me wait for no reason when I still left in a rental that I should've left with in the first place. I'm on my way there now to drop off the rental to pick up yet another car that is not my own, so they don't have to keep paying $40 a day to enterprise. Scott thanks for your apology but in regards to the extent to which I've been inconvenienced and the fact the situation is still not over, your apology is simply not enough. The person I'm working with in service has slightly changed his attitude but you have to admit this whole situation is ridiculous.

I emailed the customer service email account as instructed in your response below on Sept 12 and have not yet received a response. I still have the loaner vehicle

The check in was fine. The technician originally said 3.5 hours and then corrected himself and said the replacement of the passenger airbag should only take about 2 hours. About 1 hour in I received a text asking if I wanted to purchase two additional services- I declined. At hour four I went to check on the car as I hadn t heard anything. When I walked up the technician said it was ready. No explanation of why it took so long. He then told me to wait out front and someone would pull the car around in 5 minutes. 15 minutes later I went back in and my technician was not at his station. Another technician helped me out and found my key exactly where the first technician left it! He said he would get the car for me. 5 minutes later he came walking up as he couldn t find my car. We went to the back lot and found it together.

This is our old Honda that we have kept as a first car for our daughter. I am not sure if we were given bad service because the car is old or because we didn t take the up-sells or if this is just how they run their shop. I have never had an experience like this at Sport Durst or with Tesla.

On the face of it, all went well with a 'major mil...

On the face of it, all went well with a 'major mileage checkup' however three months later my car's temperature suddenly rose above H and, getting home, smoke when you open the hood. Look at it in the morning, the coolant was dry, completely gone. Went to another Honda place for them to inspect, confirming coolant was the culprit and, another of their bill items is... a missing radiator cap. Made me think... (disclosure, mileage on my car is well below the 105k threshold apparently coolant is checked.)

The guys in the blue shirts are not friendly at all. I literally waited to be checked in for 10 mins AFTER the fact a manager had to get someone to help me and this other guy. Made an 11:00AM appointment and car didn t even get serviced until after 1:30PM. They are horrible. What s the point of making an appointment if I still have to wait more than 4 hours. Never coming back.

Requested a simple oil change and to have my tire pressure checked. I booked an appointment for a specific time and was told there was a 2 hour wait upon arrival. What's the point of an appointment slot if it means nothing? I left my car and came back 2 hours later and nobody was even around to help. My "agent" was nowhere to be found even after being called several times by another employee. Turns out my car had been done for almost an hour and just sitting in the corner; no call was ever made. I wasted almost 3 hours getting an oil change, and my tires were never looked at. I had a much higher hopes, will not be returning.

I am somewhat new to Durham. I realized I was going to need a dealership's perspective on an issue I was having with my CRV. I researched Honda dealerships near Durham, and found there was only one. I went on to research experiences others had had at Crown. I was very leery. The next morning I went to Crown. The representative came over after few moments to get details on my car trouble. During this conversation, I mentioned my concern about getting work done at Crown especially after reading the reviews. She acknowledged and did not deny the reviews. Through the process of getting my car fixed, Kelly was supportive of my needs and communicative, and when she could not answer my questions, she brought technician Billy into the picture. He offered clear responses to my inquiries. They were more than willing to do whatever it took to help my car's issues and comfort me as a driver/owner. After the diagnosis, my concern became the cost. I was having a very difficult time trying to figure out how to pay for the part and services rendered. Because it was my first visit to Crown, the service manager gave me a 10% discount. Every little bit does help. Kelly and Billy made the experience very positive. I would return to Crown, and next time less leery.

i decided, on a Saturday to replace my well-loved 1997 black Honda Civic, and with the help of Giovanni Piedra, I drove my brand new 2012 black Honda Civic home on Monday. Giovanni was patient as I considered other models and colors and though i thought I might like something different, in the end i chose the same car I have enjoyed and relied on these last 15 years. Since I don't purchase a new car that often, I was pleased to have such a helpful sales person. Giovanni was well versed in all the new features, and even put my new license plate on when it arrived. I couldn't be happier with my car purchasing experience. Giovanni made something I had been dreading and putting off, pleasant and painless. He was a pleasure to work with, and i know if i have any difficulty with my car in the future, he will help me sort it out.
