Views and location fantastic, I stayed in a self catering lodge which was again fantastic the only reason I haven't gave it five stars was it lacked entertainment for the young kids unless you wanted to use the nursery/child minder service but for older kids my boy couldn't do everything he wanted to do. Well worth a visit

We had booked a discounted dinner, bed and breakfast package including a bottle of fizz and booked a session in the Victorian Spa. Arrived slightly late for our spa slot so the staff called down to arrange for a later slot on check in. We had an executive room on the first floor which was comfortable, clean and comfortably furnished. Dinner was pleasant but (other than a rather spectacular dessert) what set it apart was the service. Across the board, the staff were helpful and attentive but not intrusive. Always happy to help. I was very impressed and wish we could have taken part in more of the wide selection of activities available!

I spent the weekend here at a conference. I found reception was well staffed
by professionals who listen, answer questions promptly and smile as if no
request is too much trouble. I was offered assistance if required. My ground
floor room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Nothing disturbed me
at night. The conference was very well organised. Meeting rooms were clearly
named and very easy to find. It's a beautiful venue. Why some guests seem to complain about everything that doesn't suit them I don't know. Maybe they have
high expectations while I didn't arrive with any. I heard "Dinner service took too
long" or "we had to queue up for breakfast". My thoughts turn to how I never felt hungry for long or in need of anything because it was already planned and provided.
I was sad to leave because it was so relaxing and I hadn't enough time to try out everything! Thank you from me to all the warm friendly and helpful staff who work very hard to make and keep Crieff Hydro what it is, everyone's country home.
See you again soon!

Good experience. Hotel rooms could do with updating and a bit of a refresh. Would not say this is an ideal place for a romantic getaway hotel overrun with kids. Food was great and activities at action Glen were brilliant especially the quad biking.

Stay was average hotel needs some decorating as very dated. Some holes in bedroom walls etc. Restaurants expensive and limited. Still a fun enough experience but slightly expensive for a dated venue I feel.

It's my dads 40th bday and we all came here as a surprise and it was amazing. The building is beautiful, all of the staff is really kind and there are loads of things to do. Personally I loved the pool and spa area. I was only here for 2 nights but I loved it and will definitely come back again!

Wonderful hotel which has its history back to the time of the great spa hotels of the Victorian era. Now bought up to the modern high level hogel standards with full gym, swimming pool and fitness suites. There is a full range of outdoor activities too with high wires, 4x4 driving, golf and much more. Afternoon tea is a wonderful experience.

Big change from our last visit !! Hand sanitizers everywhere good one way system in force. Outside marquee was freezing despite there being at least 7 large heaters which were not switched on. When we asked to have them on we were told they have no gas ???we would have stayed for few drinks if these heaters had been on dont see point of having them really, felt for the comfort of guests it should have been a definate switch on .......Also the cost of main meals was very expensive for what we got... certainly not up to the usual standards of Crieff Hydro.

I can't rate this hotel highly enough. There is lots to do here, wether you want an active stay or a relaxed one the is plenty to choose from to keep you happy. We had a two night stay here. On the first night we had dinner in the restaurant, I'd recommend going early as it gets quiet later on in the evening, when we left at 9 there were only a handful of guests still in the restaurant.
There is good evening entertainment available in the hotel, there is a good selection of live music most nights.
If you want to take in some of the activities on offer, I'd recommend you book early as they tend to fill up quickly and you can easily miss out.

Just an amazing time at Crief Hydro for October break. Highwire and just playing in the woods before getting back to the amazing view from our apartment. Finishing the night at the bar or dancing with the family. Loads to do or nothing at all, you get to choose. Definitely would go back.

We went for a weekend with a small wedding party a...

We went for a weekend with a small wedding party and I cannot fault the desk staff for bending over backwards to help with all the fine details. The choice of activities was excellent and the staff that run them were fun and enthusiastic which made the weekend enjoyable and very memorable. However....

Our room was basic and comfortable, It was sold as a suite, but it was a basic Hotel room. It was far from clean with so much dust I found myself congested the following day. Room service was awful. We returned to our room at 1.30pm to find a member of staff still in there, but took ourselves down the corridor to allow them to finish as we did indeed want our room serviced. The results were not satisfactory. The floor was left un-hoovered, the bottom bed sheet was not properly pulled across the bed and towels I had left in the bath to be replaced (only 2 of them) were hung back over the towel rail and not fit to be used the following day. I did note earlier in the morning bedroom doors propped wide open with no staff in them and it was obvious the room was still occupied. This is an awful situation for anyone with valuables.

On the first night we were sat in the brasserie bar beside the kitchen entrance and a member of staff twice hit the back of my husbands chair with a glass tray from the dishwasher, yet said nothing. During a meal in the Meikle a member of staff bumped into another member of our party and dropped glasses. Those that were still on the tray were man handled and still used to serve champagne - while I have no doubt the staff members hands were clean I watched the glasses not being picked up by the stem. I had to ask for a replacement glass.

The food was a little hit and miss. I love to eat fresh smoked salmon and feel I can only do so when in certain places. The Crieff isnt one of them. Fresh salmon doesn't smell "fishy" but my plate was ripe and I couldn't eat any of it. My husband sampled it and agreed it wasnt fresh, also this starter was sold as a salad and there were hardly any leaves to warrant such a description. Second night at the Meikle and the carrots served Al dente and again not as advertised on the menu. My husband had an awful time eating a plate of meat with little to accompany it.

Bar staff were rude, having once been told "we dont serve that here" rather than arranging to bring one up. Then later forgetting a drink when an order for a round was placed and despite being spoken to about it at the time, the barman turned around and rushed back to the bar, ignoring what we were saying. My friend had to go back to the bar for his drink while the rest of us were a little miffed and we received no apology for the additional wait.

I have rated it poor against the 4 star rating of the hotel and promise that the hotel offers. It was a very expensive weekend for the service we received.

Fantastic place. The self-catering lodges are really nicely and thoughtfully fitted out, and feel very peaceful with all the trees around. There's lots for the kids to do, and the free childcare is fantastic - my girl loved the creche facility so much she asked to go back in it! A truly lovely place.

Went to the hub with friends for coffee - initially told drinks only. Sat down and 10 min later were told takeaway coffee only - manager then decided that no drinks if not staying over and asked to leave. Appalling customer service in this day and age.

Second visit to Crieff, and the setting is beautiful. Fully able to explore the walks around the hotel and options for how to do it, e-bike hire is pretty expensive, though mostly saw walkers.

Booked into an executive room which was very nice, little warm with heating that didn't quite shut off. Shower was awesome and didn't want to get out.

Food at the Meikle was bland and highly over priced, there was little atmosphere and little flavour to any course. Overheard similar comments from other dinners. Dessert was unoriginal with premolded tarts.

Lovely room worth the price but other elements really let it down as a high service quality hotel.

Our standard pre-booked room is sub-standard, it's next to the lift and we can hear the lift door opening and shutting each time the lift is used. Our car is much better off than us as it is parked in a quiet & secluded spot. We have been promised a better room for our second night here but does it really make up for a sleepless night tonight?

It's an impressive building with quite a lot of character. The room was pretty small but ok - nothing to complain about.
But the place attracts a lot of families with noisy kids and so the charm is soon gone. Add badly parked 4x4s and you get the picture.

Breakfast was well below what you would expect in such place with cold eggs, dry black pudding and uninspiring service.
Sauna is a boys but forget about swimming - no separate swimming lane and the place is infested with spoiled kids.
Depends what you after I guess but I much prefer ramblers' hotels with less pretentious clientele

Terrible experience here - no wheelchair access to half of the hotel - extortionate pricing. Our room was on the top floor, we had a young baby, pram and everything that comes with a newborn and we were put on the top floor with no lift access! The room was old and almost forgotten about, the wallpaper was peeling, carpet was stained beyond belief, bathroom was moudly, window was broken and no travel cot was provided! Breakfast was a riot with only 1 toaster and seating for what appeared to be nearly 600 people! Would not recommend!

Stayed the night for our wedding anniversary. Room was lovely and meal was very good. Only downside was we were in a building outside the main hotel which we didn't know about. I prefer to stay in the main hotel as the atmosphere is better. Will definitely go back though.

I was married at Crieff Hydro this weekend, and the service they provided was second to none. From the moment we arrived, they catered for the needs of us, and all our guests. Great experience. Lots and lots to do especially for families. Room was OK. Shower head needed replacing badly and hot water is not consistent at times. Bed was spring and soft. Views were breath taking. Food great. The Italian Piccolo was not the best pizza or Pasta but the Brassiere is highly recommended!!!! Price wise on the high side.. Wait for deals for a bargain if you can. If you can afford it, then go for it as it is still very worth it!!!

Nice place to eat. Live music was incredible (sidebyside). Room was poor quality, loose tiles, dead bugs on window sill. Dirty under the bed (sweets, papers, dusty) food stuck to my dressing table. The staff were all very pleasant and polite.
