A shame for such a hotel ... was in this hotel on business and not for the first time. Until now I have never got a decent room ... at the moment room 239 between 2 lifts ... every movement of the lift can be heard until evening at 11.30 p.m. and from 4.15 onwards again and again. When I complained, I was turned off and presented as stupid. The lady at the front desk was very unfriendly. A distinction is made here between working guests and tourists .. for me clearly racist and discriminatory. The hotel itself would be nice. The kitchen and the restaurant staff clearly deserve 5 ***** The rest can be forgotten
Very dissapointed with our stay, arrived & got a trolly for taking our suitcases up the stairs with our gifts, were told to take the lift to the 2nd floor, which we did to come to the end of the corridor to find a 2 flight of stairs to More
Such a phenomenal place the views are outstanding! Simply love this gorgeous place and I can't wait to come back with my partner. It's so modern too which is great!
I love all of it. The staff is nice. The activity are great and it is the best place to go for a break. In my opinion Creif Hydro is one of the best holiday destination's in Scotland.
Staff and food were superb but the hotel is so dated. Cracks in walls, dirty carpets, broken furniture, leaking roof, mouldy showers etc etc. Such a shame. We paid 150 for one night and will never go back.
Swimming pool was overcrowded, they should control how many people they let in at once. After pool we went for a meal- place is unfriendly for disabled( mobility issues) people, so many stairs in every corner- disappointed. Thankfully food was top standard!
Murraypark Hotel was very good. Only downside for us was at dinner as we felt dining tables should have been further apart! Room and food both excellent. We also visited the sister hotel, Crieff Hydro. Lunch was very good. We played putting but unfortunately there was no putting flags so we had to improvise and stand at the whole with the putter!!
Great hotel renovated to a high standard. The food was great although the sandwich bar selection could do with some more basic options for those with children. The car park is quite a hike from the from main door and in inclement weather with children and multiple runs to the car this can be exhausting. That being said once you are in and settled it's a lovely place to spend time, spacious and elegant. Will visit again.
Just back from a 2 night stay celebrating our 28 th wedding anniversary. Very busy.but staff still were able to stop and say hello so important for basic hospitality which can often be lost as a hotel grows. Miguel and Sol waiting staff should be commended for customer satisfaction. They both were very personable and took time to care. Much appreciated. Looking forward to our next stay xx
Stayed at the hotel on tuesday 17th March..was very disappointed..the bed was so uncomfortable, pillows hard and uncomfortable...then the breakfast on Wednesday morning was not even Luke warm..very disappointing.
Stayed in family room which was nice, pleasant staff and food excellent. Great place for kids with lots for them to do at the hydro and surrounding areas.
Gorgeous! Surrounded by green fields, meadows, many walking paths through quiet woods with tranquil brooks! Rooms are quiet and beds comfortable. Breakfast is delicious, good selection. No A/C and it gets a bit stuffy in the rooms even when cool and brisk outside. Restaurants on premises are a wee pricey, 10 minute walk into town with many options.
A massive congratulations to all the staff and management team for getting the hotel open again during the COVID pandemic, you have all gone above and beyond to try and create a safe environment for everyone in these extremely difficult times. Thank you so much for giving us back our family summer holiday and allowing us to relax in your beautiful hotel and grounds. Well done
Lovely place, very attentive staff and great facilities. You would need to stay for about two weeks to even have a chance of trying out all the activities and treatments that are available! The one drawback was just how busy it was. Of course, hypothetically this is a good thing, because it proves that it's a popular and desirable place to visit, but we stayed for a weekend in mid-May - not even a Bank Holiday weekend - and we were informed at one point that they were cooking breakfast for 600 people. 600!! So because of the huge crowds, there was regularly no room in the bar/lounge areas (we were a party of nine so almost impossible for us all to sit together). Having breakfast was like trying to eat in the cantina from Star Wars! In the evenings there was evidently great activities for the kids - but the noise and hustle and bustle associated with that made it difficult to relax (which, lets face it, is the whole point of staying at Crieff Hydro!). We had pre-booked the Segway experience at Action Glen (absolutely amazing, a real adventure - would definitely recommend), but on arrival we tried to book spa treatments but there was no availability due to the huge number of guests. If we had wanted to try any other activities, we would have been unable to get a place unless we had booked very much in advance. I think this is a shame, because one may not know what one fancies until arrival, by which time it's too late. But, again, gorgeous surroundings, helpful and hard-working staff, good selection of drinks at the bar, definitely worth a visit - but maybe try autumn/winter instead of spring or summer!
Great time at Creif Hydro , helpful and friendly staff, excellent and wide choice of food . Lots of activities for keeping the grandkids amused. Recommended for a family night away.
Incorrect rooms allocated to both parties in our booking. Despite pre booking and additional cost for exact room type - we had to return to front desk 7 times on day one and 5 times day two and finally 3 times upon check out. Spoke to several a managers and absolutely nothing was done to deal with our issues.
Another visit to the Hydro, it's "family friendly" and no mistake! But large comfortable room in well kept surroundings. Hopefully the main dining room won't be swamped with preschool children at dinner time!
First things first. Activities were great and really made the break, especially the segways. But...the reception was badly understaffed which meant big queues and delays although the staff were helpful enough. The rooms could do with some TLC - for example, we had some seriously squeaky floorboards and this was an issue throughout the hotel. On the whole, the recent refurbishment seemed rushed. Most of the work seemed focused on the ground floor (probably to superficially impress the conference crowd). One thing that really irked though was the lack of free wifi- 30mins in the lobby is just too stingy for a so called premium hotel. Please get that sorted.
Routine maintenance very poor lights out in room sink plug not working properly front door of hotel two out of three not working 30min to check in not great 20min wait for breakfast table so dissapointed
Outstanding accommodation as always. A bit manic at changeover times, long reception ques and no parking spaces causing double parking. I do expect a bit better.... not good if emergency vehicles are required. dogs welcome in the out of hotel accommodation which is great but very few dog bins and nowhere to put your dog if you want to go into the hotel for a fine cup of tea. But it is a fine cup of tea!
It's a beautiful hotel with beautiful views and loads of activities. They usually have good promotions. The only reason I don't give a higher score is because due to the promotion is normally packed. So mind that when choosing the time to go.
Awesome location and facilities. Best hotel I've ever been to for kid's activities. 4 hours of childcare per day included in price of stay - great staff and activities for the kids too. Highly recommended
Couldn t fault the place. It s ideal for families wanting time away and not have to worry about judgy staff or guests. The food is good, the cocktails are excellent, the facilities and bookable activities are great, and the 2hours childcare per day is brilliant. We ll be back again for certain.
Really enjoyed our short time at Crieff Hydro. It was particularly good for us as we have a young child. There was a great soft play, stables and trampolines. The whole place feels very family oriented and the staff were very accommodating of the children.
Splenidng and impeccable, we visit this place with the family and really there's fun for everyone. From the outstanding service to the pristine rooms, the facilities and the activities are just fantastic.
I attended with a friend who was there to book a 50 person dinner for an upcoming big birthday. We had lunch in the brasserie. Big mistake. Firstly I asked about the soup of the day. None of the staff knew not even the person in charge, her demeanour of disinterest was palpable. She clearly didn't know what food they were serving. On its own no biggie. We were then served warm water to have with lunch. My starter was mackerel. OK but served with an apple concoction that tasted of wet dishcloth. My companion had pate, a massive thick slab served on a modest piece of bread (1). Totally inelegant. Obviously a substantial amount of pate was left so more toast was called for. One even smaller piece arrived so ultimately half of the pate was left.
My main course was undercooked fish which was returned uneaten. No mention of removing it from the bill despite complaints. If it had been my bill I would have insisted on it being removed. My host was far more gracious than I and simply paid. All in all the experience was dreadful and will make me twice about returning. I had intended that my father and I would book in for a mini break over the aforementioned birthday. The 50 person dinner was not booked that day. Hopefully we will be going somewhere else.
Great place. Amazing kids activities. Pony ride for my 3 year old, was only topped by Mario kart! Soft play slide is a bit insane tho. Almost vertical! Bouncy castle etc was great. Loads of indoor space to run around even if its too wet outside. And a wee trip down to Campbell's bakery is also highly recommended.
