Fabulous beach for snorkelling. Good service. Expensive.
Awesome hotel. Huge Basik. Your beach, deliciously cooked. Convenient location.
I recommend
We really enjoyed it! Breakfast was really terrific - nothing that didn't exist! There were even things like salmon, mold cheese, cheddar in one piece, etc.
The kids pool was great too, with a slide and baby pool (we didn't visit the other 2 pools that often). We found it great that there was a shuttle bus to Patong. Unfortunately, this is not free at all times. One way hotel-> Patong according to other guests costs 200 baht flat rate with the tuk-tuk drivers, if you don't want to take the shuttle bus. There is a family mart right next to the hotel. There you can stock up on cheap drinks / snacks etc. There were almost never reserved chairs in the morning - that was really pleasant. So you always found a place. The beach was privately owned, which we also found very nice. We really had nothing to complain about and can really recommend this hotel, especially for families!
The hotel was really neat but room service took a while to meet our request. (I.e. our room didn't have toilet paper when we first came in and we called room service but the toilet paper didn't come until half an hour later)
Nice spacious bedroom, ballroom was great. Staff attending were friendly and helpful. There are 3 pools in this resort. Good place for family with kids.
Awesome location, best service, friendly staff, beautiful place
Written having spent 3 of 14 nights on a half-board package with TUI.
The hotel is quite large, but set over only three floors and little over 400 rooms. There are three pools, four restaurants and a number of bars, including a beach bar and pool bar.
We are staying in a Premier Double Room with Balcony and Sea View. The view itself is a little obscured due to a few trees, but still passes.
The room is very clean, although we have spotted that we have a little guest staying with us; a small gecko (haven't figured out where he is hiding at the moment...).
The room is well-equipped; c48-inch HDTV, discrete light, alarm and air-conditioning console, JBL clock/speaker, a number of mirrors, walk-in shower and bath, and the usual amenities you'd expect.
Staff are very polite and helpful; a shared trait with the rest of the Thai people.
The hotel has a private beach onto the Andaman Sea, but the bed is quite rocky, so it's recommended to wear water shoes.
There is a shuttle that is free and chargeable (100 baht; depending on the time of day) that will take you into Patong; more specifically Jungceylon shopping center, which is to the Eastern end of the popular Bangla Road.
Will update this as we progress but, so far, so good.
The best resort I ve stayed at. Very high attention to details, extremely friendly staff and very good quality for the price you pay. I will definitely recommend this resort.
My brother tried to book his wedding to be held here. They gave him a soft deadline of Jan 12 to conclude negotiations and finalize. After stonewalling on negotiating for a few weeks on Jan 9 they were told that another party had been booked for a wedding in the same hotel, but, "it only overlapped on one of the three days". Can't recommend this kind of professionalism or lack thereof.
Nice pool areas, nice staff, close to the sea, short taxi ride to Patong, okay food
Really nice hotel and great for kids as well as for adults
Vis in Paradis. Exceptional staff, exemplary cleaning, good foarye food, swimming pools, extraordinary beach. Bravo !!!
Good service, peaceful ,all staffs are friendly,,beautiful beach
Lovely hotel
Wedding venue amazing.
Very good value for money, outstanding service. Big thanks for extra bed free of charge
It was an awesome experience. The food was excellent and the staff were too good, polite and disciplined
Quiet atmosphere, private beach, very good service staff Delicious breakfast and saad Come to rest during this time, the promotion is very good.
Been to this resort 10 times under merkin beach. First time as marriot. I thought going up stars meant that its improved. Stayed in room 4229 and the shower screen door does not open properly and the aircon rattled all night. Never had this with merlin beach. Prob staying at patong merlin next time.
We stayed at this resort with our four children aged 5,6,8,9 for a week and none of us wanted to leave!! The setting is idyllic, the staff so friendly and activities for the children never ended. The week flew by. We will most certainly think of this resort with fond memories and hope to go back again!
Wonderful hotel, rich breakfast served in two restaurants each morning. Cleanliness throughout the hotel and friendly staff. Room with sea view spacious and modernly furnished.
Hotel has a great pool and a small private beach. They organizers good aactivitiesfir kids. Beds in rooms could be more comfortable and service a tad better. Limited food options for vegetarians.
Very pleasant hotel, closer to city center but private and cozy, highly recommend
Staff was friendly. Rooms spacious and well layes out. Breakfast is not a relaxing experience that one seeks at a resort. You have to sign in everytime, which frankly on vacation at a resort I don't want to do and then they charge you extra for items without telling you when you order. A bill arrives and again not relaxing. At a resort you just want to relax and not sign any paperwork or get nickel and dimed
Had a lovely stay at the Marriott in merlin beach. Beautiful recently redone room, the grounds were great, amazing pools (one with a swim up bar!), very friendly staff, direct beach access, delicious food (especially the breakfast buffet), and so on. The hotel definitely had a family atmosphere, but was still perfect for a group of friends.
A great place for a family holiday. Excellent cuisine and very friendly service create an unforgettable atmosphere.
Very beautiful hotel in the mountains of Phuket. Overlooking Patong Beach
I have to say this was one of my favorite hotels I have stayed by, simply because of their customer care. Throughout my stay here (8 days) the staff was extremely kind, respectful and helpful with all my needs. They planned all of my activities day by day which were all amazing. Aside from that I have very specific needs for food due to religion and Exec chef Harry and his head chefs Anil and Pittaya were the most helpful and considerate in this regard. If you're looking for a beautiful pool, snorkeling and other activities on site, and AMAZING customer service I highly recommend staying here.
Nice ambience, decent and polite staff, amazing services. Nice entertaients
Awesome people.... awesome service.... if one complains about this place, they are very hard to please
Great hotel with caring staff, we are came here already the second time with our kids, the hotel has a great kids club which is well handled by Khun Paula, the hotel and restaurant is amazing handle by Khun Lee, he is doing a brilliant job!
Excellent hotel. Marriot, there is Marriott. Breakfast is very good, evening musical performances in the lobby bar and on the beach. Ideal cheat, pleasant surprises when checking in (upgrade to sea view and dinner for two as a gift)
I didn t like it. Far from hanging out. Taxis are expensive. On foot 1 hour. Transfer to the mall only 4 times a day. Tours cost space in the hotel, took a wow tour on the site, much cheaper.
Beautiful resort with one of the nicest private beach in Phuket island and a complex of connected swimming pools ideal for families with children. I stayed here with my family during the rainy season and, nevertheless, we had a wonderful experience... maybe even better than in the pick season, since the resort was half empty and we received extra attention from the staff. Highly recommended to have barbecue dinner at the beach bistro. Magic view and scenary.
Great location. Good for honeymooners. Sea side. Nice spa offers traditional Thai massages. Proximity to the famous Phuket Beach
Hotel itself is nice, staff super nice, restaurants in Hotel are expensive around 50 a 60 each time, wifi super fast
Amazing hotel. This is our first tine at Marriot hotels , after a great welcoming at the reception we were explained about the plan of the resort and facilities. The rooms are big for sure, bathroom is big to it has a shower and a bathtub, that is nice fot the ladies, the hotel is very clean and it has a very good wifi reception ( free of charge ) ! The breakfast is great plenty of choices and a lot of fresh local fruits that are very tasty. The a la carte restaurants were 5 star defenetly ! I whould recomand this hotel for sure.... almost forgot the beach and the coral with plenty of fish in it was a plus to remember !!! Thank you Marriot for a lovely holiday !
Excellent service from San and Ice. Will definitely be back.
Good breakfast
Room was good
Clean
Friendly staff
Great pool area
Isolated locations with the private beach
Just borrowed the chairs for Marriot. Haven't stayed there.
This is not a typical Marriott Resort. It looks like someone else built it and later it came under Marriott management. The open lobby is huge, airy and stylish. The staff there is very efficient, experienced and super friendly. On top, the girls speak very good English and look like models.
All the rooms are very nice renovated. Huge Samsung TV with all international channels. But, as usual in Thailand, the workers are not dedicated to finish their job in a good quality. In a result, they destroyed the bathrooms with all joints and silicone lines. It looks horrible. On the other side, the cleaning ladies do a fantastic job.
And my last critics: the choice of colours in the hallways is a disaster. It doesn't fit and it is boring.....
I had a room with direct access to the huge, landscaped pool. Book it, if you can afford. There are 3 different and huge pools, all landscaped within lush tropical gardens with bridges and islands. I guess, the best pool area on Phuket. Be aware that there are families with children, but it is not loud. A lot of inflatable toys and big swimming bags in the pools. So you may float your body and soul in the sun....
There is a swim up bar in the middle pool. Always crowded at happy hour and easy to come in touch with other guests for a drink or a joke. Cocktails and drinks throughout the resort are state of the art.
The breakfast is outstanding and until 11 am! Just book it. You get everything and very seductively presented. And again, the waitresses! All smiley and super helpful and friendly. Many look like models. The typical Thai style. But, for your eyes only, don't touch.....
There are many restaurants and every evening is a different theme for dinner, whether in the Thai, the merchant or the Italian restaurant. Also nice, the buffet by the beach. BUT, a last complaint: sometimes, the dishes are average only and it does not fit to a 5 star class hotel. On the other hand, they make everything happen. Just ask. Waitress Sai from the beach bar is a very typical example and not common in Thailand: I ordered a coke, no ice, no lemon, just from the can. It came warm. So I sent it back and started to enjoy my cigar for sunset without drink. 2 minutes later, Khun Sai appeared with an ice cold sparkling canned Coke. Mission accomplished without expecting. This is real 5 star class, Marriott service and that's the way how to earn a tip......
A lot of entertainment every day like spa, many pool billiard, soccer table, ice hockey table, ping pong, video nights, kids pool and play area, own snorkel facilities to see the fish just on the natural reef at the beach. And don't forget to see the butterfly area. Outstanding. So, even if it is a rainy day, you can easily spend an attractive family day at the resort.
The beach: real beach lovers will be a bit disappointed. There is a nice sandy beach, but to swim in the sea, you first have to walk through the Rocky reef to the open sea. The tide is about 2 Meters and at low tide you will see the stones and corals and you can explore the underwater world in between. It's a natural resort.....
Summary: super friendly staff, great breakfast, many restaurants, cool pool bar, fantastic pool area and all kind of entertainment....
After arriving from Bangkok where we stayed at the Avani Riverside a true 5 star property for service, food and room, the Marriott is definitely a step down in all respects. If you don't have a reservation is nearly impossible to get into the restaurants. The buffet which for us was the only option available, was extremely disappointing. The food was cold and tough to eat. The location is stunning which will make up for a lot of negatives. I stayed in a junior suite which based on past experiences was on the small side. Over the years I've stayed at many Marriott properties and I would have to say this is towards to bottom of the list.
Beautiful view, many photography angles Good service staff
Very great staff! Very nice, clean rooms. Magnificent views of the beach and mountains. Breakfast was great. Happy hour at the swim up bar was awesome! The swim up bar was closing so the staff gave us the 2 for 1 special from another bar and brought our drinks over. Big manual game room is available. Would definitely stay here again!
Overall this is a very nice resort. Staff is friendly and professional. Swimming pools are huge. Beach has a lot of corals so it's not ideal for bath but is nice for snorkeling. Use shoes for a more pleasant experience.
Breakfast was very good for be in Thailand. 3 different kind of cheese and many breads and sweets and yoghurt, egg station and fruits etc. Also a lot of thai food.
The "seafood tower", pizza and different kind of Thai tapas we tried at the restaurant was all good.
The things I didn't like was that the pool bar was closed and several times there was no towels at our swimming pool, and we had to walk and get it at another pool.
Also some details at the complex is starting to become old. Color is falling off etc. I don't call this a huge problem but I don't expect that at a 5* resort :-)
There are couples and there are a lot of people coming as a family. I love the private beach. The condition of the room is a bit old and the sink is not clean, but it seems to be working hard. You can also rent a life jacket for free from the private beach and bring your own snorkeling mask to see the fish. Be sure to bring aqua shoes. It's uncomfortable because there is a feeling of patong and distance when going on a tour, but I recommend it if you only go outside and just stay with it. All the staff are friendly and breakfast is not bad.
Nice Marriot with private Beach.
Five minutes from Paton beach.
Staff friendly
Perfected located 4 star Resort on the beach of Patong
We stayed here in September 2018. My partner and I still talk about the amazing service of the following people:
Komson, who was the first person we met, was funny, friendly, and helped us feel comfortable instantly. He has a great sense of humour!
Jib was also very friendly and helpful!
Our cleaner was excellent- not sure on their name.
Mei- from the Italian restaurant. Such a sweetheart and excellent at English. We had a few conversations and she was so lovely and kind.
Zohar- also from the Italian. Very very helpful! And kind. He was an excellent server.
Pittaya- the chef at the Italian. We asked to see him twice to compliment him on the best food we have ever eaten- and we have been to many 5 star restaurants. He was very humble and lovely. Amazing chef! Hope to eat food made by him again.
And our favourite- Kelley. She remembered our names from the minute she met us. Every day she spoke to us with warmth, and was incredibly helpful. She provided many suggestions for events/food specials at the hotel that we followed and appreciated. She also is award winning for her service and it's VERY deserved. She clearly loves her job and works very hard, and is deserving of every praise she gets.
The hotel was lovely, very beautiful, clean and had everything you could need .
But the customer service was the best we've ever experienced, and the warmth from the people there was incredible.
Excellent space, huge pool with a bar in the middle, rooms super nice and clean, and comfortable. Beach next to hotel, reasonable has quite a few stones, excellent service, huge pool, very good.
Really good service and activities and everyone is happy
Spent the arvo/evening/night here attending some friends wedding, great location for that - resort has its own secluded beach and all the bells and whistles to go with it - beers/smokes/food etc a bit on the pricy side, considering the difference you can pay just down the road at Patong
Amazing views from the room, delightful customer service, sumptuous food, lots of amenities!
It was an amazing trip because all the staff was nice and made my stay with my family more enjoyable. The Marriott was something that has made me cry because I had to leave and go home. If you get the chance to go to Thailand go to Phuket Marriott resort Merlin beach!!!!!
Only pool is okay.
Interior that old-fashioned interior that room smells good.
Awesome air conditioning sound. Still, the air conditioner does not seem to work well.
Was a fantastic experience hmmm the bar staff got to know us at happy hour
Awsome place set up caters for all best pool and facilities in Thailand
Love this place, wanna go back again on slow holidays, the sea is super clear.
I loved most everything about the resort. The best massage I got in Thailand was on the beach shack behind the resort. My partner, her sister, and brother in law all agree.
The resort was clean and comfortable. Loved almost everything about it. My one gripe is the cleanliness of the beach. Any beach in Thailand is littered with garbage. I don t know what the solution for Thailand s rubbish problem is. But I know that this resort could hire people to rake their beach every morning and night.
I went to Thailand to lay in a beach by the ocean. But I ended up staying in a chlorinated pool because the natural beauty was mired with tourist run off. It was kind of a deal breaker for me.
Lots to do here. They have got nice restaurants and bars to just chill and have a drink
We enjoyed and loved the location, swiming pool, private beach , room and very nice breakfast but unfortunately Reception lady who we met first day was impolite and confuse made us negative first impresion , other staff really good and respecting.
Because that i wont go to this hotel anymore!
What an amazing experience! The staff were so hospitable and the resort was outstanding. Really loved the Merchant Kitchens delicious food and the lovely Kelly who helped us with everything we needed! Definitely will be back!
Very good resort , excellent facilities, good for families, lovely pools, excellent buffet breakfast
Beautiful, relaxing, beach access, away from city hustle, welcoming and warm staff, good for family.
Amazing hotel and service, we had the italian wine tasting which was great, thank you Leonard for suggestion and warm hospitality
Booking Free 1 hour Thai massage. The truth should be locked. People who stay Or to make it clear That must be booked in advance Free stuff doesn't exist. You should feel canceled, go to the island, wish to have a comfortable massage. In conclusion, the whole thing fades. The other part speaks well, the hotel is beautiful. But need to improve down Pro called customers. Thank you.
Lovely spacious resort with loads to do for children that, nestled in its own private bay over a hill, feels a world away from nearby Patong. The pools have zones for all ages, food is great, including a very civilized afternoon tea, and the beach has rocks and some coral if you feel like exploring.
Great place. Amazing pools. Great view of the sunset and tons of activities (many free) for kids
Fantastic resort with great amenities. The most friendly staff i have ever met. I just love this place
I like the service of the staff and location.Like and recommend as another interesting hotel
Absolutely Fabulous. Warm and friendly staff, you want for nothing in this wonderful place. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
