Do not rely on telephone information that you have taken the trouble to prepare for your arrival at the consulate. IT'S A TRAP !!! They make you come with kindness to better attack you on the spot. A hello to welcome does not kill anyone, even if it can scratch your lips. It is not for the pleasure of the trip that I came to see you, but you, it is your job to welcome and inform correctly.

1/2 hour watch in hand!
It would be good to specify on the site that it is useless to make an appointment on the internet to retrieve a document (identity document for example).

It is no longer the first time that I come to the Portuguese consulate in Paris, in fact the last time I came here was about 5 years ago and I think that after they put everything on marking everything started to be better managed, especially less people and less time waiting. Scheduling takes a little time depending on the consular services but sometimes vacancies are available, you need to consult the agenda regularly. An improvement they should make is in the telephone service, it is expected on average 30 minutes at 1 am for a person to be attended and sometimes not even so, in case of urgency and for those who live in Paris or surroundings, it is best to go directly to the consulate.

Too bad we can't put 0 !!!

Too bad we can't put 0 !!!
No kindness, no one taking you down ... I just had an operator who just hung up on me because I did not agree with the fact that I had to pay back for a photocopy which is already compliant! !! Or we go she thought we are all civil servants like her and we get paid for nothing !!! Review your dear consulate staff behavior because it is really shameful and I am ashamed of being of Portuguese origin in front of people like you. You don't even try to explain or find solutions to people's difficulties, you just push them down and it looks like you're having fun !! If you are frustrated, go back to your country and there it is the French speaking !!. I of course found another solution thanks to the administration directly in Portugal, they at least show that we are an open and welcoming people !! My file will be taken care of without additional expenses !! Understandably, the operator

Impossible to be heard by this unkind staff .. I am French and married to a Portuguese and how many times have I heard myself say "Speak in Portuguese" as if I were an emigrant who refused to speak Portuguese! It's a shame .. and on the phone, it's even worse .. I knew French officials and now I realize that whatever the country all officials are the same

It is incredible how in the middle of 2020, civil servants still pretend to work.
Between coffee every 10 min, eat cookies while you attend, constant wrong information. They still excuse the delay with colleagues who went on vacation.
A shame.
In Portuguese Consulates that I have been around the world, this is undoubtedly the one that least wants to work

SUPER NUL ... to avoid. We pay almost 50 for urgent renewal of the ID. At the consulate we are told 8 days, now it is 3 weeks minimum. What good to do here while in Portugal we have it in 2 days.
Staff at this point not at all competent and we are spoken as if we were mentally retarded.

I just left the Consulate: very good experience! I came to collect my father's identity card. There were 25 numbers before me, but it was very fast. The gentleman who received me (counter 15) was very polite. He saw my French identity card and spontaneously asked me if I understood Portuguese well. I replied "not too much" so he made the effort to explain to me in French several pieces of information. Very nice!

Well nothing to say about the service just a pity that the standard since the corona virus is permanently saturated ... Practically surrealism to have someone on the phone otherwise the Portuguese are much more advanced than other countries at this level

It's July 2020

It's July 2020
And to make a citizen card for my newborn (we presumably have 20 days to do it) there is only one vacancy in December 2020.
And then they still want a paper dated at least 3 months old.
This is a lack of total disorganization.

Badly received we would have thought in a hospital to take a dream to make a passport three months before finally if it is a lamentable public service for the times currently with all the computer means that we have

I'm at the consulate waiting to retrieve the citizen's card.
The problem is that there were 100 people in front of me in a more than warm room where there are more people waiting standing than sitting. Full of people .. It is not normal to deal with the card in an hour and wait more than 2 hours just to recover it on a 1st floor where on the stairs you can only go up or down. With about 200 people going up and down, only one person can fit.
The attendance may be pleasant but the organization is very bad.

If you have documents to do in this establishment, do NOT go there! FUCK THIS CONSULATE !!
They forgot that they were there to serve the Portuguese community! Better go back to Portugal and do the documents there !! Always late with the appointments, they talk to you unpleasantly as if they were disturbing ... kind as a prison door, especially the girlfriend of the reception. FUIEZ, ladies and gentlemen, FUIEZ without looking behind you !! And me who thought there was no worse than the CPAM or the CAF ... and yes, there is worse.

2 times I send them an email to find out if I need an appointment to collect my identity card, and which office to contact. Also to find out the hours. Because I'm not nearby, and history not to bother me for nothing! Because it is expensive: The card at 23 euros, 2 round trips by train, at 28 euros, or 116 euros. It gives me an identity card which costs me at least 139 euros. Not including the meal in Paris, and the lost working day. And they don't deign to answer.
Obviously foutage of mouth, and a long work to do on communication, and politeness too ...

It took me over an hour to register for my wedding and you still had the nerve to show yourself upset and bad-tempered with so much "work." You do not want to work that gives the place to someone else you want. For the piece of identity no one talks ... We have to walk with the expired CC waiting for more than 2 months by our rdv ...

I was surprised by the quality of the service that we were not used to. Internet booking with a clear and understandable program. Appointment: two days. When I arrived on the appointed day, a perfect organization. Proceeding to renew my passport took no more than 10 mn and a few days later my passport was at my disposal. I just have to congratulate the Administration for this great organization and respect for the citizen.

I want to show my displeasure with the Portuguese service at this consulate. they do not answer the phone during the whole day they make an appointment after 24h so they do not answer during the day and are there to answer in the morning please after all and everything is faxed. please make an appointment in the afternoon for service to people who work put the phone to receive messages from the caller and do not give us music every day. I am still obliged to thank you for your education I thought that the Portuguese public administration outside the country was different but after all the heads that manage it are on time

Sometimes it can happen, like when you come to collect your citizen card (office upstairs). Otherwise, they take you down, especially the head of the ID requests, considering us as invalid, illiterate or caste inferior surely. They think they are still in the days when, in Portugal, those who had done a little more study and / or
administration (teacher school, doctor, lawyer and coy) claimed the right to be called "sr doubt or professor" in the name of I do not know what. MUST STOP! Go back to Portugal and you will fall from your pedestal. You are like us - Portuguese citizens - so drive yourself as such. Do not make us feel ashamed of our country. THANK YOU!
In addition to their site, after taking an appointment for the ID card, you realize that there were withdrawals 1 or 2 days after your connection but you can not choose this day, the site does not allow:
For example, you had an appointment on April 11 and today you realize that the day after tomorrow, March 17, there was a cancellation, and you can not take this appointment as explained to me. on the spot by the consulate, (because I still moved in the hope of taking this appointment on the spot ... I left nicely without anything because, I told you "rdv blocked in case there would have an urgency, I still offered to stay and wait to see if no urgency arose and I take, but no, short.) These appointments are not available between 24 to 48h but 72h. I should have looked the day before to be able to take this date (which I did besides, but there was no cancellation yet).
So, I ask the Consul to review his system, which is a little archaic and take the example of the French system.
Nasci em Portugal, mas sinceramente tanho vergonha de ver como os emigrantes portugueses sao tratados pelos seus compatriotas do consulado. OBRIGADO.

Can anyone help me understand why the consulate's reception capacity has not yet been increased given the number of people passing through it on a daily basis? Why are the employees always smiling and willing to do their jobs, while all the employees I came across (except security) are all cold and obnoxious? Anyway, at least the service is fast (for those like me who booked online before going).

The staff very friendly (if not attacked) and the service is fast. This goes very well when you make an appointment via the internet and you arrive with the rooms. Everything is written on the internet. Everything is done on site: photo, forms, stamp. In 10 days I had my passport, but obviously in July August it is longer.
When I see the comments, people who get upset and then are surprised to be badly received. They should have a little more education: we do not treat administrative people like minions in your service, we need a little respect if we want to deserve respect.

If you are Portuguese you should be extremely proud of the image they give of Portugal. I am from one of those countries that requires a Visa to most countries in the world. So you better trust me when I tell you that the staff at the Consulado Geral de Portugal in Paris has gone above and beyond their means to help me process a Visa. Not even in the embassies of France, UK, USA, or China a process has been as efficent. Muito obrigado.

Recovering a simple identity card is refused at 16:20 because this "service" is only possible until 16:00! WTF! To recover a simple document it is necessary to do it in the beginning of the afternoon ??? But it's lazy my word !! Especially since this instruction is not written null! And when I go the next day in advance, I had a 2h waiting! Just to recover the card at noon! They gave me the excuse that there was only one person working at lunch time ... pfff ...

Poor!!! No telephone reception, no listening does not give a precise answer. Hang on my nose because I asked for a clear answer. I need a document from the Portuguese consulate to marry religiously in Portugal. The person tells me that he will send it to me when he will send it to me and if I do not have it before going to Portugal. I have to go to the town hall in Portugal and ask for a birth certificate, in which it is noted my civil marriage that I have in France. I find it scandalous to have paid 130 euros and to be treated well and nothing to have! It is shameful !!! You are there to facilitate our efforts and not to make them complex !!!

I went to do my kids' bi and it went well but I still haven't received anything at home, it's been at least two months and I've called several times and nothing, I've been waiting half an hour and nobody answered, shameful! Now I need the identity cards and I don't even know what to do I will have to miss a day and even then I'm not sure it will be resolved! I don't understand!

Impossible to recover your identity document without appointment you have to go to the site of the consulate, for a person who cannot read or who does not know how to use the internet or even for the elderly it is really not good, in addition the cite did not work very well since, I made an appointment for the withdrawn except that it was for the passport is they did not want to take me or change the appointment, I moved for nothing I find that unacceptable

Shameful welcome and very very rude staff. Party to make a power of attorney this one is refused because the identity document is French, whereas on the phone and by email I had been answered that this posed no problem. We have an appointment next week in Portugal and we can not do anything due to a lack of will, I have family who made their proxy under the same conditions. The fact of working in a consulate not only gives you rights but also duties such as hospitality, politeness, shameful service of never life, what sadness to see that people can be embittered to this point.
