Conrad New York Review

The Conrad was always a great hotel, and when the rates are reasonable, it is our number one choice in New York City. However, the Conrad is even better now, and unfortunately the rates have risen in line with the neighborhood emerging from an obscure quiet residential hood to happening, with lots of tourist opportunities.

When the Conrad hatched from an Embassy Suites shortly after 9/11, it was the proverbial "hidden gem," luxurious, but tucked in a "dull" area near Battery Park, close to Stuyvesant High School. We loved it though. It was like we had the place to ourselves, taking silent walks along the groomed Hudson River path. The city seemed far away, across West Street in Tribeca, only ten minutes, but a world away.

Now the city has come to the Conrad. Brookfield Place Mall, a gigantic shopping and eating mecca, is across the street. The streets near the Conrad are now lined with restaurants and bars catering to all tastes. On this last trip, we hardly recognized "our neighborhood." Goldman Sachs has also set up shop a block away, in a huge edifice, catering to financial wizards masquerading as millennials. If you can get the Conrad for under $400 a night, grab it. We will be back in the "city" in October, and the rates are over $600.00 a night! Forget about it! We'll find something else, but we will miss staying at our Conrad New York.

Went to loopy doopy and was pleasently surprised at the friendly and fast service. Also yummy drinks.

Outstanding rooms with plenty of space, views and an incredible shower. A nice touch were the check ins by management by text prior and during the visit.

The rooms are gorgeous and very comfortable and make great use of Manhattans limited space by shaping the rooms in a way that makes it feel huge

They forgot my request for water bottles. No microwave in the room. Everything else was perfect!

Excellent accomodation. All rooms are a suite with complete privacy control and arrangements for guest for overnight stay. Scenic location - with Hudson Jersey City Skyline.

review only about the Atrio bar - the drinks are stiff, if a little too much on the sweet side. price is high, but about as expected from a hotel bar. you can hang out at the sofas in the hotel lobby, which is a good place to hang low-key with it's 10-story high ceiling.

The hotel is great, but the restaurant and bar on the 2nd floor have terrible service.

Went to the Loopy Droopy bar. The popsicle drinks tasted great but were pricey. Rooftop was crowded on a Friday at 6, as expected. Overall was a good one-time experience.

We stayed in the King Luxury Suite and it felt like we were in a downtown million dollar apartment. The rooms in the suite were beautiful and luxurious with careful attention to detail. The staff was very friendly and quick from room service, to simple requests for additional blankets and crib. Convenient location (5 min walk to World Trade ) with great views of downtown. We will definitely be back.

Excellent rooms with the VERY best shower of any hotel in the world, sadly spoiled by the worst run breakfast and restaurant. Good location for new WTC. Room only, eat outside.

The hotel is right by the water and next to the Brookfield mall. The room was super nice with a comfy bed and soft pillows. The lighting in the room was nice. House keeping put a water bottle by my bed with a cup.

Visited NYC last week during my birthday and the Conrad New York played such a big part in my overall enjoyment of the trip. Upon check-in, Lori at the front desk noticed it was my birthday, and later on surprised us with a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolate sent to our room. What a nice gesture! The rooms are spacious, modern, and very well appointed. Service is excellent too. I had to get my shoes shined quickly, and despite the normal 2-hour shoe shine turnaround requirement, the staff exceeded my expectations by showing up at my door and immediately polished my shoes, within just 10 minutes. The food at Atrio is also wonderful. This is one of my favorite hotels in North America!

The Conrad hotel is such a beautiful place. It is located in Battery Park City and is one of the best places just to stop by. Food, service, and the scenery is all great.

The Conrad New York was absolutely stunning! The decor was extravagant, yet tasteful. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Also, and most important for events, the food was delicious. We had a lobster caviar salad, sea bass and an array of great desserts. Definitely recommend this location for any personal or corporate event!

Super lovely and ambient in an unconventional environment

Comfortable beds and spcaious rooms. Very easy to relax, especially after a cross country flight. Very convenient location next to the ferry if you need to go to Jersey. Fantastic breakfast and overall service was excellent.

It is a great location but not the best Conrad i have stayed in. The few people that I interacted with were friendly. Doormen were welcoming. Bellmen went the extra mile to ensure you are happy with your stay. they saw me for a few days and they made me feel like home. Room service was fine. However, the restaurant at lobby level was not properly managed. I was sat at a table that was not cleaned but set. I had lunch with my Infant son but they did not take away the extra setting, which I find it strange. One thing i found frustrating was that there was no changing table in the bathroom on lobby level - I had to use their little side table/drawers to change my son.

Upscale, elegant place with excellent staff. I enjoyed my stay here to the last minute.

Great hotel. Many stores, restaurants and activities within walking distance. The interior of the hotel is stunning, especially the lobby area. Excellent service as well. The rooms are extremely modern. I highly recommend this hotel.

The rooms were VERY nice. Very comfortable beds, couch, and chairs. Even the floor was comfortable. The customer service experience was also pleasant and professional. The biggest complaint is the lack of refrigeration space, but that is pretty minor. Also includes other nice accouterments such as super soft robes, extra pillow/blanket, even umbrellas.

What I liked - the vast spaciousness of the lobby is mesmerizing. I love the open air concept with the rooms around the outside and the lobby has no ceiling. The rooms are large, modern, thoughtful in terms of layout and really comfortable. I also love that Shake Shack is 100 yds away.

Where there is room to improve - Service. Very broadly speaking the service was fine. Front desk staff friendly but not overbearing. If you asked, you received. I just feel like it s not enough. You are a luxury brand within the Hilton Family. The service should reflect that. Should be more personal and more pro-active. That s what turns a 4 star into a 5 star in my opinion.

At belldesk when asked for a cab they put me in a private cab claiming it will be the same price as taxi. The driver charged me twice the price once we got to the airport!

One of the best in New York. Would highly recommend if you need to be Downtown. Perfect hotel!

Went for drinks. Small rooftop but good atmosphere. Get there early if you want a seat.

I stay here every time I want to stay in the city. Rooms are amazing, spacious and flows perfectly. That atmosphere is very comforting and relaxing. Customer service is always amazing here from the people at the front door, receptionist desk and the housekeeping. Highly recommend this place.

I came here for a birthday getaway and their rooms are wonderful. Lovely waterfall showers and lovely view from window. Service was great as well

Beautiful hotel in a impressive part of Manhattan. The location does not have a clearly visible address but that seems to be the style in Manhattan.

My wife and I absolutely love this place! This time, unfortunately we weren't able to stay there, but we were able to stop by the rooftop bar for drinks at sunset. The view was absolutely amazing.

The rooms were dark and you couldn t use the mini fridge in the room without being charged a $25 fee. Other than that, it was good.

Super luxury hotel with awesome views of the Hudson River ..! This is class apart, super spacious rooms, rain shower, coffee and drinks at your disposal..! One of the best hotels from the Hilton chain.. give it a try if it fits your bill and you will not be disappointed..!

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Housekeeping staff was wonderful. They went the extra mile to get us a small fridge in our room as we were travelling with our son and needed to keep some of his food cool. Will definitely return.

The hotel is amazing. Great location near the financial district, the One Trade Center, the WTC Memorial, with views of the Hudson River, and other attractions. The rooms are well equipped, clean, comfortable, and quiet. The staff was gracious and service great. I would definitely stay here again.

Most friendly, helpful and courteous staff from check in to check out. Visited with my family (have a year old baby) last week, everything we needed was made available to us with extras for the baby. Being next to a beautiful mall was a perk for us.

Fantastic staff along with great rooms/suites and one of the best locations in lower Manhattan.
