You're welcome, I'm glad to give a 5 star review. Every single staff member, including the restaurant staff, were so welcoming and accommodating. My best friend was there for her wedding, and she wanted to upgrade her room to a suite, and the staff walked her to the room so she could make sure it was what she needed. The inside of the hotel and rooms are beautiful, and the French toast was fabulous. We had a perfect time, and I'm incredibly grateful to the staff for making her special day flawless. We will absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for romantic cityscapes, luxurious rooms, and impeccable hospitality. Thank you!

Beautiful and very well kept. Checkin was quick and the front desk person was very courteous. We used room service as well and that was also quick. Nice tennis courts although we didn't use them. There is a restaurant onsite as well.

My wife and I recently visited Berkeley and went to the Claremont Hotel.

The hotel is sprawling on a huge property with a lot of amenities.

The staff is nice and the rooms are clean and we also use the spa which was very nice.

My only real complaint is that our room was tucked back in an old wing and was complicated to get to. If we had children and a lot of luggage it would ve been a pain coming in and out multiple times a day.

Otherwise everything was good

Stayed overnight for a company event. Rooms are really nice, although age is noticeable. There are cracks on the plaster and some access panel covers done with 1/4 inch plywood that really stands out. Really frendly and helpful staff, self and valet parking available.

Nice hotel and staffs were welcoming. Delicious breakfast served and some selection of wines. The view was wonderful. Spa and some clubs were good too. My experience here was great. Would surely recommend.

I've been here multiple times to show it to my friends but I've never stayed here before. They all think it's nice but were not overly impressed with it. However, because this is a historic hotel it is impossible to make major modifications to the structure. The lobby is not as grand as you might think it would be. And so is the entrance. More furniture should be added to some areas to make it look less empty.
Had breakfast here once before. The food and service is good.
Overall a beautiful hotel.

Very classic hotel!!! Went for drinks and dinner and there was confusion on how the patio and dining room searing was arranged as we were told 2 different things by waitstaff and hostesses.

We came here for their holiday afternoon tea. Great service, we felt very special. Everything presented so beautifully! Food was food and tea was so good. Must say very very pricy for the amount of food and tea you get. Worth trying at least once.

Lots of hidden charges. They are fairly up front about them, but plan on spending $50 extra per day on top of the regular room and taxes. One charge is the $24/day parking, the other is the $24/day "facilities fee" which is for their pool, sauna, etc. They charge these fees whether or not you use the services. Breakfast is not included, and seems to start at about $20 a plate. The building is old, and like a big maze. But the rooms are nice. The bathroom is all in marble, and were all done in marble. All in all, I prefer a typical chain hotel. This is too luxurious and expensive for me. I wound up being about $600 for two nights with nothing extra added. Just the room and the required fees.

Most people think this place is located in Berkeley but it's actually an Oakland Hills icon historical venue great views of the Bay from the restaurant deck . Their Sunday brunch is delicious, staff is wonderful, rooms are nice but a bit old school small, but the atmosphere of the whole joint it's something you'll enjoy

Beautiful venue with lots of space and bars to accommodate groups of any size. Food and drinks were also excellent. Definitely an upscale place to take someone special! Was very pleased being here for a professional event!

The room was beautiful but I forgot something in my room. I called the day after I checked out & was told that security would get back to me. 2 weeks later they finally called & hadn't even bother to try & locate my item. My room was occupied so they said that they would check the room (like it's still going to be there 2 weeks later) & if they can't find it because they dropped the ball in the 1st place they would send me a replace. That was 3 weeks ago & here they have dropped the ball again! Don't trust security here to follow threw on their job because it seems that it is not a priority to them.

Stayed here over spring break with my wife and young kids. Classic old hotel. Pretty stunning to look at and very distinct. Great service throughout our stay. Our initial room was not huge - but would have been fine considering most time was spent outside the room. We ended up getting upgraded to a suite which was large and very comfortable. Both the initial room and suite were view rooms. Pretty breathtaking. You could see all of San Francisco including the Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge. Really nice pools at the facility which we used daily. Kid friendly pools and then lap areas for those looking to get some exercise. Walking distance to some good local restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay here again. Also - we were informed that Fairmont just bought the hotel and will be upgrading the hotel. If you've stayed in any of their hotels in Canada, that's a good thing. The Claremont is an elegant hotel but an old one. The odd upgrade will make it all the more better.

If you're looking for a Super high end luxury hotel the Claremont Hotel and Spa has got you covered. Located in the fancy Berkeley hills, this place is a true landmark for the old world beauty of Berkeley. Its architecture is so amazing that the hotel can be seen from across the bay in SF. It kind of looks like a castle. Each room is clean and breathtaking. Some of the rooms face and give you views San Francisco while others give have views of the scenic Berkeley wooded hills. The tennis courts are top notch. It is great place for seminars and business conferences. Bring cash though and expect to pay $20 for a egg breakfast.

Beautiful space and love the new decor. I had drinks in both bars/lounges, and also spent the night. The service was pretty slow in the bars, but it's also nice not to feel rushed. We were enjoying watching the storm through the huge glass windows for a couple hours. The staff was very professional and helpful with modifications for our pregnant friend. Unfortunately, everything closes early! We got back at 11:30 on a Saturday night with nowhere to go but to our mini bar.

The rooms were great - clean, cozy and high quality all around. Yet...no complimentary water! That was strange - but we asked in the lobby on our way to dinner and they grabbed us some.

Other than an initial room mixup, we found the Claremont to be just wonderful. We had a room with a bay view, very spacious, immaculately clean. The bathroom had double sinks, walk-in shower and separate tub...the porcelain fixtures just sparkled. The Club facilities are excellent, and your room stay includes all excercise classes.

Lovely
