The hotel and the ambiance was excellent. We enjoyed the stay. Food was delicious. Morever it was excited to meet one of the chef to inquire about the recipie of a dessert which shows their hospitality and the attention to the customers need. That was mind blowing. Do not recommend the room numbers around 130s because it is far away from the ocean viwes and had to walk alot. So, we could exchange a room.

We are sorry that we didint wrote our comments on the comment paper but there no space to all our complains.

On 25/06/2018 morning we head up to the restaurant to eat our breakfast, no hostesses where on the door.

No water glasse on the table.

Service was too bad that no one removed first round plates from the table. I asked for the one in charge for the food hall they sent me the hostess and she was shoked when she didint found our room number in the check list she promised us that the manager will contact us and we didint received any call from anyone.

Bathrooms next to the food hall are dirty and the smell unsupported inside.

No one in the gift shop so we had to wait 10 minutes to somebody come.

Between 2 and 3 pm i tried to call the SPA and no one answers my calls so i had to contact the reception and they transfered me to the one in charge where i reserved an appointment and took all the informations with discount for me and my wife at 7.00 pm. At 6.50 we was standing in the reception. the golf car was late untill 7.15 because the driver was picking up luggages.
Once at the SPA no appointment was taken and two clients was waiting the fees requested was higher than what i was told on the phone knowing that the fees was given in Sri Lanka Roupie so i was obliged to exchange some money to pay them with a lower rate than i can get from banks.( the receit is available upon request)
So i had to get back to the reception and complain and asked again for the manager and the answer was that: (all managers are in Colombo for a meeting) :). I checked with the responsible one that they truly transferred my call to the SPA manager that gived me all the informations and the appointment and the answer was positive.
In this case you waste my time and i couldn't do nothing in the evening and my money because i had to exchange money in a lower rate.

Drill sound very near to my room at 4.00 pm even it was higher than the hairdryer sound in the toilet. i video record it.

This rating given based on the time I spent this hotel while participating for a wedding reception. They have good security with big parking space. The hotel area is really big, and they have there guest only private beach space. The swimming pool also well maintained and big. The hotel bar also good and staff also friendly and helpful. I had the lunch from hotel, the taste of the food is excellent. While my very short period of stay thats what I expirenced. Based on that, overall I think this place is suits for beach lovers and those who need some change and seek some place near Colombo. If you travel this hotel from Colombo defenitly you can reach this hotel less than 2 hours.

Citrus and gone down to a super low level recently...

Citrus and gone down to a super low level recently, in my last visit with a group we experienced the most rude customer service ever in a rated Hotel in SL. It was for a prebooked gathering we went in, for a crowd of just 17 members from Family. The hotel staff couldn't provide seating and a gathering table for us for over an hour, keeping us standing around, and the rooms, were to check in after 2, despite all their poor service and our strong complain to the manager, there was no action taken to make our stay smoother or helpful. Lost all faith in Citrus, having been a regular at stewart for long too. This poor service ruined my entire credibility for the brand itself.

Hotel was nice. But the maintenance were poor there was 2,3 cracks in the walls. Taps were with stains colour washing was not that good there were unpainted patches. The bed head lights were remove and dimmer switches were there with wall brackets.
Breakfast was very good with very good spread. Dinner was not that good even it was Saturday night.

Very poor service. Restaurant is like a the dining hall of a shelter. Guests have to be cautious not to get in the way of the waiters for fear of being splattered with plates with leftovers and water. When you complain about a problem they will apologise but not rectify the situation. Worst holiday we ever had.

We are currently staying at Citrus as part of our 14 days quarantine .. the rooms are spacious and well done moreover the staff have been family ! They are wonderful and understanding and cater to every need of ours .. we will be the first ones back to enjoy the resort fully ... we sincerely thank you for the care given to my two children and I during our quarantine ...

Stayed at the property for a couple of nights duri...

Stayed at the property for a couple of nights during our visit to Bentota. The location is really prime and the property is huge. The rooms are spacious and offer a beautiful view of the beach. The service is really courteous and the staff is well trained. They have couple of restaurants, we tried food at the main restaurant and had no regrets. The beach area is well maintained.

Im giving it a 4 star just beacuse of the food served here, fabulous property with private beach, sea facing rooms, a great swimming pool and nice bar. The spa is also very reasonable priced. The staff is quite friendly too.

Nice and cozy place for functions. Have great hall. Food is great. I dont know about liquor. But im not satisfied with soft drinks. I didnt had time to explore the beach side. But From the entrance experiences and tha glance i had it should be great too. Hope all enjoy the great place.

This is a place that basically caters to " coach tourism", busloads come in & leave frequently. The rooms are functional, overlooking the ocean but the food is very mediocre & staff responsiveness not what you find at other places in Sri Lanka.

Loved the swimming pool! Rooms were very good as well as the facilities. The beach was just outside resort. Lovely place but only thing, the food wasnt good. (I am vegetarian)
Also, Wifi is available almost everywhere in the premises

Highly disappointed. Bad service of the staff. Rooms are not clean. They are not concerned about the locals. They provide their good services only to the foreigners. I never recommend this place.

Rooms, swimming pool and natural beach are great.... Variety of food at meals are not much great compared to other hotels of similar class....Food should be improved otherwise guests specially the foreigners will be feeling annoyed and make complaints and give negative feedback which will in return impact the hotel and at a broader level for the whole tourism industry of Sri Lanka

HORRIBLE !! everything is extremely expensive for ...

HORRIBLE !! everything is extremely expensive for a country where the minimum income is around 170 we offer you a plate with lobster for 50 USD, a soda for 3, pedicure at 50usd manicure at 60 in short like with us! and when you ask to get the Bottles of water included in the room for the following 3 days when you will be absent from it (although paid! and half board paid) you are presented with a note to sign (extra) and therefore to pay on departure. becomes fuck-up! What worries in this hotel where it is almost impossible to see a manager (a real eh !! who acts!), We are trying by all means to extract more money from you, and the lobby does that well, either claiming not to have received the mails, or message not transmitted ... etc. total incompetence (finally disguised to extort money from Westerners full of money as they believe! a shame! others French, them all inclusive, struggled to get bottles of water for breakfast !! yes you read carefully, bottled water at the bar ok but at breakfast not possible !!! AND to finish the day before departure after all our worries a manager comes to see us after having shouted well, guaranteeing us that we will have no more worry that everything was settled and that it was a misunderstanding, offering us a cocktail as an excuse, we said to ourselves "at the right time"! That neither ... the next day when we left our taxi is there, we are asked to pay a massage bill (NOT consumed of course !!!), inevitably refusal, we ask to see a manager, no one comes, the taxi is there, we will be late for our plane, a hostess in the lobby tells the driver not to leave because we owe money thinking that ue we did not understand. We ask to see the paper of the said massages, the date is quite simply a date when we were 3 days very far from the hotel and we had notified it to the hotel, with supporting witness (driver and tour guide !), the signature is not ours but that is not enough, we call the masseuse to be sure. She said "it was a couple with a girl" bingo we have a boy! he checks the signature with our passports ... oh yeah, it's not the same eh! "we made a mistake sorry" !!! That's all???! here are your excuses for calling us thieves the entire stay ???! for forbidding us to leave for false reasons ?? Shame on this establishment and the manager who lets incompetent people run it.
Then at the swimming pool (not to mention the cleanliness!) Around 6 p.m. in general you will have the right to the passage of the small gardener who sends an extremely powerful repellent all around it, hedges etc ... which literally smokes everything, around , deckchairs etc .... nobody warns you, normal this kind of product is not problematic and reels every day (cancer, my friend ...), the floors are slippery (and sticky) from morning until evening in all common areas. In the event of strong winds, be careful not to sleep! broken plexiglass roof which hits at any wind in a hallucinatory noise, even a manager of the lobby to jump on coming to see, we had to change rooms 1 night. Ultra noisy air conditioning. ants in the room.
TO FLEE ! no respect for the customer, you are small mobile wallets in their eyes, go to the inhabitants or guesthouse instead you will be better received!

This is a nicely built hotel in a fairly big beachfront land with close proximity to Colombo. Rooms are spacious and well furnished. It somewhat appears to be not maintained properly. I personally was not happy about the cleanliness of cutlery, Glasses, Serviettes and towels. Especially the pool towels. Food was quite alright. Beverage options for all inclusive package was limited compared to some popular deals. It may also depend on the price. Comparatively the staff was also not attentive and informative.
