We visit citrus 3-5 times a year. It s more of like few minutes away from
Colombo with the beach so relaxing! Staff is really friendly. This is the best hotel to have competitions they have a very spacious ballroom.

Very good location. Spacious rooms. Food choices are ok. Service little slower than I expected. Little far from the Bentota town. Nice beach front property. Large and clean swimming pool. All rooms are ocean view.

The building is old, there is no gathering hall, the karaoke is unbearable, the rooms are great and the view from the window overlooks the ocean.

Plus: Staff goes to great lengths to meet your requests. Very friendly. Just not sure whether the hotel can cope with a large number of (demanding) guests in high season.

Minus: Food and drink relatively expensive, compared to the food offered.

Other notes: Not everybody will appreciate the trains (we didn't mind), but most beach hotels are within earshot of the Galle-Colombo raiway.

Outside of the hotel, not really much to do, so use a tuktuk and interact with the driver to discover the surroundings.

Beautiful location, had the pleasure of the access to a room overlooking the ocean. Breathtaking view in the evening accompanied by DJ. Buffet spread at restaurant had good food, pool and rooms were clean and well maintained. Well received on request internet access right throughout the hotel premises. Restaurant staff have room for improvement, curtious staff and overall lovely experience! A definite recommend!

We went for a wedding there. Wedding hall was quite large to occupy large amount of gathering. Food was good. And there was a huge parking area. Also they had beautiful photo locationa

This is a nicely built hotel in a fairly big beachfront land with close proximity to Colombo. Rooms are spacious and well furnished. It somewhat appears to be not maintained properly. I personally was not happy about the cleanliness of cutlery, Glasses, Serviettes and towels. Especially the pool towels. Food was quite alright. Beverage options for all inclusive package was limited compared to some popular deals. It may also depend on the price. Comparatively the staff was also not attentive and informative.

We had from December 8th - 22.12.2019 Holiday in Sri Lanka. It was a very nice time we spent in the hotel. The hotel is really very nicely laid out and right on the beach. There are really only very nice, helpful and very friendly employees in the hotel, who really tried everything to fulfill their guests' every wish. Food and bar was really very good! Internet or WiFi is relatively slow and can only be used for e-mails and the like. use, but not for streaming and work. A SIM card that can be purchased at Colombo Airport is actually recommended (e.g. 4GB from 7). If you just stay in the hotel, it is a very pleasant stay.

As a starting point for tours, Waskaduwa / Kalutara is a bit out of the way (30 minutes by car to the motorway). The area around the hotel is unfortunately poor and dirty, there is not much to do. Beware of the tuk tuk drivers they are very simple-minded but all the more aggressive when it comes to riping off tourists in the hotel. They also do not deter intimidation and physical violence, as we have been able to determine from our own experience, which led to the report to the police. We recommend using the Pick Me app or Uber for journeys - please register the driver at the hotel reception so that he can drive in, otherwise he will be beaten up outside!
We have had just as bad experiences with shameless rip-offs with the people on the beach. Caution is essential! They offer tours to Spice Garden, please do not buy anything there! The prices for the Ayurveda products are at least 6 times the normal price, as the tuk-tuk drivers earn money from the tourists' purchases! We felt safest in the rented car, with which we explored the south of the island and were treated by a real Ayurveda doctor (in Hikkaduwa).

A wonderful tourist attraction site. The beauty of surrounding nature with the sea view is so elegant. A must visit place for everyone. One of the best place to have your wedding ceremonies which might give an unforgettable memory life long.

Had a nice experience. Pool, food and customer service is excellent.

Stayed there for couple of times. Rooms are spacious, friendly staff , variety of food (but enough varieties for a 5 star) great beach to enjoy with. Sunrise breakfast and moonlight dinner is just fancy ways of having breakfast and dinner outside of the main buffet area.

Nice entrance with cascading steps and water feature. Open, airy spaces, great for relaxing and enjoying the sea views and ocean breeze.
However, the rooms and the not-so-clean, dark dingy bathrooms don't match the initial impression created when entering the resort. Was hard to communicate with housekeeping staff; they didn't speak English.

It's quite a hike from the intl airport to Citrus, about 1.5 - 2 hrs. While the flight we took from Chennai was only 1 hr, it took almost 12 hrs, door to door. Let's just say I wouldn't be rushing to visit this resort again.

Worst hotel staff. Badly managed.There are much better hotels than this in the region. Please avoid.

Citrus Hotel .. Citrus Hotel .. All room with sea view .. Large area Spacious garden .. There are swimming pools for adults and children .. Rooms are spacious and have a wonderful view Classic furniture Friendly and friendly staff There is a gym and children's games .. Breakfast buffet and dinner is excellent and varied and clean .. Regarding the insects is natural because the hotel is close to the farm is unobtrusive .. The place safe and guards everywhere there are some vendors roaming the beach .. There are rescuers watching the guests in the event they landed the sea.
The place is beautiful and wonderful and excellent for families.

Hotel is beautiful, conveniently located and has very good beach access.
But our stay was a disappointing one.

Food - Lunch buffet was crowded, extremely humid and the food was really boring. Limited variety. Not 5 star worthy at all!!!
Some action chefs had to be reminded that there was no food in the dishes. They were just standing there looking confused.
I had to stand and wait for over 10 minutes until they got back from the kitchen with more food.

Room - We were upgraded to the suit for some reason. We were told it was our luck. But it turned out to be out nightmare. The AC in the room wasn't working properly and we had to spend a sleepless night. The technicians were repairing the AC till midnight. But it was the same until we checked out. The worst part is no one called back to ask us whether it was ok even after about 5 or 6 complaints.
I even asked for a standing fan but that only arrived in the morning!

It has an excellent view towards the ocean and an awesome pool open through out the day. Also has plenty options to fill up the plates with!!

Beware if you are planning your wedding function over there. They tend to over charge

Superb hotel, met all our needs and expectations. The wedding hall was spacious, grand and the food was just as good. Various balconies and parks with amazing views and sceneries. Perfect for an unforgettable walk on the beach. Spacious suites with adjoined rooms and even a jacuzzi, with room service meeting your every need.

Good place. Staff is considerate and helpful. But the buffet was not good. No food for locals. Only two types of rice were there and curries that went with those were even less. They should've provided something more, considering our guys were the largest crowd there.

Hi, I have booked the citrus waskaduwa hotel for my wedding 10 months before but prior to 3 months they are now saying that they are not in a position to accommodate my wedding as they are having it as a covid quarantine center. I feel it s very unfair for myself since I had planned everything and now I had to find another hotel in a very short notice where I couldn t even find a place to accommodate 400 guests. I had to face many difficulties due to this short notice.

Went to a day out with the family. Premises were fine, but nothing special and to be honest, the service we received was unprofessional. Buffet was okay but very limited in varieties. We left the premises within two hours Not worth it another go, I'm not sure why they call themselves as a 5 star hotel when they can't keep up the standards.

I've booked this hotel for my wedding a year ago. but prior to one month they said we cant sure to arrange your function with this corona pandemic and there having it as a quarantine center.we also paid advance a year ago.so never book this place for wedding functions,we can"t trust there promises.i've faced many problems due to this short time noticed.
