SEE VIDEO...CHLA keeps hospital rooms in filth...never cleans them, very neglectful. This food was growing mold in a room of a immunosuppressed kid.

Thank God for making it possible for there to be places like this blessed place

This hospital is the best that I know !! My nephews Elijah Duhon past away here from plastic bronchitis but they gave him the best help and did all they could !! May God continue to bless this place.

Excellent plastic surgeon. She did fixed my son's cleft palate very well . She is really good doctor and highly recommend.

We were at the emergency department around 1:12PM today, Monday 2019. The employee that assisted us was extremely abusive and no help whatsoever. We have had a good experiences with CHLA in the past but this guy took them off of our list.

Some of the nurses dont know how to take care of the children there, theyre were two nurses who did cross contamenation with my sons bottle and another babys. Even though we told her it wasnt ours she still used it. They dont call to inform us how my baby is doing until we go see it. Either they are on the dam computer shopoing online or texting. Idk how that hospital has that type of workers.

My daughter is a new GI patient. Apparently it is my job to find my daughter medicals supplies and submit authorization for her supplies. Since I am doing all the work, that GI is supposed to do, do I get paid hourly with medical benefits???? The last time I checked. I am not a dr or nurse!! Staff is to lazy and rude to do anything to help my child!!

Give blood! This place is a God send. Staff, and I mean the whole staff, security, janitorial, food workers, nurses, doctors...I mean everybody ARE OUTSTANDING!

I may have posted a similar review over the years, but my sentiments have never changed, and I'll never cease being grateful.
Dr. Joseph Church, his colleagues, and all the dedicated staff SAVED MY SONS LIFE. PERIOD.
On August 20th, 1999, my nearly 2 year old son was airlifted from Las Vegas to L.A. in cardiac and respiratory arrest. Metabolic acidosis. Less than a 1% chance of survival.
I was told to prepare for the worst. The Last Rites were read TWICE to my son. Everything in our world collapsed.
But the steadfast commitment, dedication and honestly, LOVE, that my son was shown will never leave me.
I will FOREVER be thankful to everyone that cared for my boy, and cared for us, as well.
He will turn 23 this fall... And for that fact alone, I will FOREVER be in debt to this institution, and EVERYONE that makes it a special place.
As the years roll by, and life happens, I just hope that someone reads this and finds a spark of hope in our little chapter of our experience with CHLA. We didn't have any, but Dr. Church changed that, and performed a miracle, I will always believe that. And I'm not a religious man, but it's the only worthy explanation.
If it's at all possible, I hope that Dr. Church will be able to read this, and that he knows just how much he means to us.

My son has cancer and is being treated here for about 2 months now I have nothing bad to say about children's hospital by far one of the best hospitals for children and all the United States I do not know where people get their fax from and saying that the ER nurses are rude or anything of the sort they are not rude you try being under the amount of pressure that they are under 16 hours a day trying to make sure that your child is good so if you guys have nothing nice to say don't say nothing at all

Children's Hospital of Los Angeles is definitely one of the best children's hospitals in the United States. As a former volunteer, I experienced first hand, the caring nature of the staff. Some of the most talented doctors, surgeons, and care staff work at this hospital.

Very Thankful to all the staff from the ER to the Duffy building, best service we have received from a Hospital and special thank you to the staff & Doc. who helped with my son, Dennis Enciso, Dr. Debra Don & Dr. Shabnam Ghazizadeh!! & all the rest of the staff in Duffy building & the Lady who brought my son an X-box to play that was I am so grateful for all!! Some nurses arent even careful with their patients. When monitors make beeping sounds, they take their sweet time to see whats the problem. They also do that to the infants and newborns you just walk past by the rooms and you see the children crying or swaddled the wrong way and all you see at the outside of the rooms, are the nurses and theyre just chitchatting, laughing, or using their phones!! And they dont check up on the kids in the rooms. My baby sisters in that hospital and most of the nurses dont check up on her. Theyre just outside talking or on the computer. This is a hypocritical place. Just because you are earning more than the minimum wage doesnt make you better. You got the education, but not the morals

My son had a surgery here when he was,a baby for cleft lip. Twelve years after, my son had a snowboarding accident and fractured his right arm. I brought him to the emergency at 9:00pm, the hospital is efficient, equipped and didn't asked as a dime with my insurance. We were out of the hospital after just 5 hours.

This place is so amazing. I've been bringing my son here for sixteen years for multiple surgeries and I'm amazed every time by their quality of care and personal touch with every patient. I wouldn't take him anywhere else, and I will be forever grateful for everyone that works there.

This is one of the worst hospitals I've ever encountered. Most of the doctors are arrogant. The liver transplant team act like they care a lot, but in reality, they don't. It was extremely hard for me to get a hold of them since I was not "allowed" to call their office. I was lectured by one of the coordinators for calling their office. I was thankful when they told me that they would take my son in for a liver transplant evaluation. However, the time duration that my son spent in the hospital revealed to me that they only cared about their reputations. Don't get me started on the ICU doctors. They were a bunch of heartless doctors. My son was becoming very ill to the fact that his poop was all stained with black blood and he was on oxygen. The ICU doctors kept refusing to have him admitted into ICU. Was he not worth these doctors' valuable time? To them, another child in the ICU would just take up more space and time. Last but not least, the resident doctors are completely incompetent. I asked and asked and asked if they were sure about taking my son off his heart medication. They said yes. A week later, I asked for my son to have an ECHO done to see if his heart was ok after not taking his heart medication. They denied of my request. I asked again a day later, and again, and again. I begged for my son to have an ECHO just to be sure that his heart was ok. They kept saying that his heart was fine and there would be no need for an ECHO. A couple of weeks later, his oxygen level went down and he had to be on oxygen. No heart doctor even came by to check him out to see if it was a heart problem. Finally, a couple weeks later, he had an ECHO done and they said that his heart wasn't good. He had to be put back on his heart meds. I knew that he was not ready to be taken off his meds. When it was time for him to get a liver transplant, his heart gave out. We had to let him go. Our little peanut is now in heaven. I regret for taking him to this hospital. They might have saved many children, but they neglected to give good care to my only child. Everyday, all I can remember is that I begged and begged for that one ECHO, but they never gave it to him until it was too late.

Chla has the worst vision center. Don t recommend it stay away from opthomolgy department.

When it come to the children, this is the best place for them

The wait time here is so ridiculous. The doctor spoke to me rude. I cannot believe I got denied a mask for my daughter even though she was coughing. Practically been here waiting forever. So irritating

I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy(not in this hospital) took him home and I noticed my baby was super yellow and his eyes too...I took him to the doctor and told me he needed to go to the hospital because he haded jaundice and it was really high...the ended up putting him in the lights stay for 2 days and went home...the jaundice did went down for 2 days and did what doctor told me and gave him his medicine...but it look like he got worst...went back to his doctor and send me back to the hospital...they check it again and his jaundice was higher...and told me he haded a kidney infection and haded to stay for a moth...the hold stay was wonderful they treated my baby well and also me...they show me where to sleep and shower...and seen I just haded given birth they were always checking up on me too...they help me with my baby at night told me to rest...all the nurse's I got where super nice...doctor explain everything and the nurse's too...I thank them so much my son got better and look better then before...I am grateful for this hospital...my daughter haded a fractured arm and also treated us well...I love this place even though it's far I always come to this hospital it always my number one chose...I recommend this hospital to all moms and dads...to bring there children...there be treated wonderful...

Claudia and Edith in referrals were very caring and professional. Dr. Sadrieh MD, Kiarash was very attentive and knowledgeable. He made sure we spoke to a social worker and answered our questions the best he could and referred us to the right person when he felt we needed information on something out of his expertise.

Horrible people..they could not wait to kick us right after my son's surgery. Rude nurses.. no compassion. The cleaning people were nice.
We sat in the waiting room. NO BATHROOM for the parents..we had to split up because my 12 year old daughter could not be with us. We had to switch every few minutes. My poor son. When he came out from surgery there was NO communications.
Over all bloody horrible experiences
Maybe it was an off day...dirty bathrooms..I think they just make sure we get a sense that it is all great but when you look deeper...it is not.
Doc was in a rush no time to say two words.
I hope he is going to be okay so we don't have to ever go there again

Went here Twice waiting the usual wait for an Emergancy room (about 5 hours each time)
First time they said it was from dehydration and it was fine.
My little brother continued to experience problems so we went again for them to tell us to wait two days to get an appointment with another center.
Waited four days so we called the center and they now tell us we need a referral from our physician to even get an appointment

How is it that we were not informed of getting a referral from physician to make an appointment?
We spent soo much time WAITING (10 hours in total) for NO RESOLUTION at all. Unprofessional.

I have taken my baby twice to the ER. Once for tummy problems and once for a really high fever. They didnt do crap for either times. They didnt even bother to prescribe any medication. The time I went for tummy troubles, they left me there for 2 whole days only for them to tell me he had "reflux". Honestly the drs are crap and they only way they will do something, is if its a life or death situation. Clearly if I took my baby in was because he was in pain but they dont care.

Is it just me or are The prices at the cafeteria out rages ! It s like 15 bucks for a damn salad , people have to be here for about a year or more and we re paying $10 a day just for a plate of food that is ridiculous !!

This place saved my 4 year old daughter's life. She had a life-threatening, very rare disease and they found out what it was and now she is 100% better. This hospital is the top hospital in the United States for helping children. I loved it here and they ere so nurturing.

My 4 year old son had his tonsils removed here 1 week ago and it was the most pleasant experience! The doctor who performed the surgery (Dr. Dawn) along with her team of nurses were absolutely phenomenal and made my son and us feel so well taken care of and guided us in every step. They are all so sweet and give their best care and attention. We truly left very satisfied and grateful for the beautiful experience especially because I thought it was going to be very hard on my son and me but they made it exceptional. My son recovered like nothing ever happened and I feel great.
Besides the fact that the hospital is gorgeous for kids beautifully decorated and designed and impeccable. I highly recommend this place and staff =) Thank you very much for your great care and services!

The billing department is totally and completely incompetent. Carmen, I do not give out my last name, why is it so hard to figure out the total and send it to us?

Our experience is that we payed the first bill. Four month later Carmen started calling us saying that there is still a balance on our account. However, a bill for this remaining balance is yet to materialized after two month. How can these people be so incompetent at bookkeeping?

Regarding the medical care it was also lacking: they failed to successfully perform a lumbar puncture on our six month old, which resulted in a two day hospital stay for observation.

Nurse Anna from Emergency registration posing as a Doctor and diagnosing my daughter with Asthma, (my daughter has bn hospitalized here twice before and both times struts wit this similar cough) she has a chronic cough was seen yesterday and did not improve so we brought her back just for for nurse Anna to decide that my daughter cn continue coughing her lungs off for a wait time of 4 to 6 hours!!! Thank you nurse Anna for your Doctorate!!!

Loved the care and service that was provided to my son. Only set back is their scheduling. My doctor put in the order in January of 2016 and the fastest appointment they said they could give me was Dec 5, 2016. Ridiculous if you ask me.

An excellent hospital for the care of kids. The staff is great and always willing to help. They sing to the kids and make every attempt to help the kids feel welcome. Their standard of care is well above average. If your kids need to go to a hospital, this is the one.

The hospital is beautiful and its nurses and doctors give the best treatment that can be given to children.

I had surgery at CHLA on 3/12/19 for a bone tumor in my ankle. From surgical admitting all the way to me being discharged the hospital staff was amazing. The nurses were excellent, the pain team was always there if I needed them, and Dr. Tolo and his resident were absolutely amazing. They answered all of our questions and reassured us about everything. The hospital is incredible and I see why it is rated so highly. If you or your kid ever need a surgery major or minor this is the place you want to go!

The pediatric orthopedic surgeon from this hospital is outstanding! My son was admitted at night and was scheduled first thing the next morning for his hip surgery. The surgery was quick. He then was recovered on the 6th floor and the care and service there was unforgetable. We were very happy and pleased with the service and care. I would definitely recommend this hospital. Thank you Children Hospital of LA.

Love love this doctors office one of the most amazing places for them to treat my children I will make a 45 min drive all the way from my home to come here so they can treat my daughters the is so loving and caring here and they have no problem taking my girls any time of the day or week

The nurses on the 3rd floor are just lazy. Wouldnt never take care of our baby how they suppose to. We wouldnt feel safe leaving the room cause we knew how they were here. And as usual the Supervisor on their side. Saying we bother them to much ect. Whats their job? What would it be of the baby if we wouldnt be here taking care of him? Pretty much we do their jon by taking car of him but we bug? Dont like the service here ao we moving hospitals..

It is the best, my baby was atendo as fast as possible one day after another and thanks to that and God put his hands on the doctors, my baby was diagnosed with RETINOBLASTOMA at 13 months of age and received treatment at time and for 6 months the tumos only affected his eyesight from his right eye, but thanks to all those hands and the prayers of family, friends and doctors because they pray before they start what they have to do that was What I liked the most, but for the month that my baby enters, she will have 5 years of being a cancer survivor my baby is going to meet precisely the month that enters 7 years , they know that mommy the doctor told me no one knows the children better than their parents and as parents we know when something is not right in them, take care of them a lot and they are going through the pain of seeing one of their children with some kind of situation do not worry in this hosp.nos do feel supported, and qe we are not alone s throughout the journey, children fight for their lives and doctors fight next to them, God bless him and all children in a way or another all are gerreros.thanks DR.KIM

Staff are very nice and helpful they made me and my son feel so welcomed especially when he had surgery it's a very good hospital doctors are great as well .
Hospital is clean , and they don't take long to see my son if he has a check up or if he's in the emergency room .

Wish i could give negative stars but employees are friendly, show sympathy. Now the organization between departments is the absolute worst form of communication i have ever witnessed amongst professionals , moreover those of the proclaimed CHILDRENS HOSPITAL, where "they care". Schedules are done improperly for instance today 5/28/2019 daughter is in for pre-op at the cath lab..oh wait due to under staffing and poor communication skills my daughter was hungry and having a meltdown all morning long. NOW lets not forget their parking lot was so full people were circling for atleast 45minutes to find parking going in and out of the garage (it should be used for patients only not visitors, that should be a separate lot and all verified with appt confirmation numbers) not only did they call my husband yesterday to confirm a given time of 11am, but had also called me friday to say 8:30am. What is to be believed? Were calling all morning long as if im a worker running late informing my boss, only to find out there call center hours are 7:30am. Not only did this cause wreckage in my homelife because no one knows whats right and we both feel at fault for something we have no control over and they clearly can not get organized enough to write memos for each other saying "oh yeah i called and said this, and i did that" . After reading reviews i know i am not the only one.
A)my daughter is 8 years old, non verbal and severly autistic with violent outburst of self harm , mind the 6 heart defects she has and currently awaiting another open heart surgery which IS THE ONLY reason we are here.
B) after voicing my concerns to everyone of the team i come in contact with, still nobody seems to make a memo for others and future reference.
C) they claim my child has one of the rarest defects criss cross av valves, not to mention TGA, an inverted heart , double outlet right ventricle and only 2 working chambers ......so this pre op is a must as it is her surgery is 2 years over due!!....with this said apparently they said "we had a severe case and had to give her bed away"
D) knowing she now does not have a bed which i just drove 325miles for and called work off after working 2 weeks straight no day off at over 100hrs to garuntee this visit for tuesday May 28 and OHS on the 29. ....THEY COULD HAVE JUST UPDATED ME AS SOON AS THEY KNEW SHE HAD NO BED!!!! she is already skinny , lets add restricting food for a prolonged period of unecessary time in the game plan as if this disabled child didnt have enough deficiencies already.
1) she was literally purple and blue so fatigue from her meltdown (she was hungry and following procedures she could not eat after midnight, again all in hopes that we would finally get this over with)
2) nurse shunned us from updates on whats going on, didnt say a word. Finally, i grabbed my poor daughter and walked out, because this is traumatizing for her, she doesnt understand why this is hapening or where shes at .all she knows is what she wants. And i will not allow for her to be in danger where shes harming herself in an unfimiliar surrounding , why not just come to me and say "hey lets reschedule "
This is ridiculous . Im seeking a second opinion at place where my daughter is treated fairly, because i am her voice, i am her protector and after enduring what i have with my sick kid, i could write a tell all book with my adventure

# entire staff is running for free ice cream, jackets or whatever apprieciation gifts they have going on (they deserve it but theres a time and place, and a hospital is a place of correction and discipline with integrity..not play time) its a bad picture and investors should be weary of this.
******* i hope maybe theyll pay attention to the parents concerns we are not criminals simply worried adults favoring the words of the entire staff which has obviously been abused and taken for granted.

I was there for 8 days and they were super friendly this place needs more than five stars it needs 100 stars I love this place it saves children's lives there superheros and they don't have super powers this place is the best children's hospital in the world they deserve 7,0000 stars

I stayed there when I had a ruptured appendix and everyone was amazing!!! My nurses were awesome and everyone there made my stay better!!!

This is the best best hospital! I brought my son here and they treated him as there own! All the nurses, doctors and staff are all so kind and generous and helpful!!! They made dam sure that my baby was alright every hour of the day, they respond really quickly too! No long waiting! The place is very clean! Definitely a great hospital

They are stupid, they only let 4 people in and they were able to leave some of my youngest children outside and the doctors are also useless that they charge and never go to check their family and apart from the emergency room they are only attended by nurses and the doctor nor does it appear I do not recommend them are useless

My son had a allergic reaction attack and was transported here. Wow it was a amazing experience. This place is well kept up. The structure, the painting, the art hanging on the walls . Not at all did I feel I was at a hospital. The staff was very courteous, and supportive. It was all updated state of the art equipment.. I especially like the touch screen monitors where you can watch newly release movies to ordering your food. If this hospital was not a distance from my home I would make this place my primary hospital for my children. Of course the Dr's that where assigned to my child's case where awesome. Gave very clear explanation of what was done to what is going to happen. I was just so excited and pleased of the service I was given.

I would give this hospital zero stars worst experience I've ever had with a hospital I would not recommend it for anyone Providence hospital in mission hills is much better. My daughter was in nicu here for three months it was a horrible experience bad customer service rude nurses. I will never support this hospital at all parents beware. I wouldn't give Children's Hospital of Los Angeles a dime and will never put my children there.

Bad experiences . If you have choices ,don't go there.Super confused customer services ! Before I went to there ,they called me to confirmed the appointment . I gave them all the information they need . Then two days later ,they called back to ask again .then said they cancel the appointment,and they will call me back to see when Is the available appointment time . I wait for them ,but they never calls back . However ,I called them to see what's going on .at this time ,they said they couldn't fould my kid's information .at the last they figure out they put the wrong last name of my baby . Then they said they will update it and call me back later . Of course they never calls back .This is only little details . They most frustrated part is , they didnt call back ,butIThey sent the confirmed appointment text message for me on Thursday 2pm. Then I put "yes" ,and get a day off ready to see the doctor . Then , we drive all the way to there ,spend 1hours and 15 mins ,because the traffic is bad ! When we arrived ,they told me they cancel the appointment again . And nobody know what's going on . I show them the message they sent .they let me to go to the patients relation department to complain . At the last ,nothing change ,we couldn't see the doctor even though we got the comfrim ed message form them .super bad experiences !
